Delicious and quaint Korean experience. The food was amazing and our waitress was sweet, kind and very helpful when we were deciding on our meals. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and hubby ordered the Japchae +Rice. Both dishes tasted wonderful and cooked to perfection. Thank you for having us. We will definitely return with the family.
the new dolsot bibimbap was super yummy! it’s on a stone pot, so your food stays warm for a while and the crispy rice at the bottom adds a nice texture!
We ordered the volcano maratang, chicken wings (garlic soy and ppuring), cheese egg omelette, and bulgogi kimchi fries - everything was delicious! The portions were generous and the staff were all very friendly! Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for Korean food! All the booths were semi-enclosed so it was great for privacy!
We were skeptical when we went because the place was empty. We ordered the whole fried chicken, tofu soup, seafood pancake, pork cutlet and spicy pork and squid. The food tasted good and had so much flavor. The chicken came out hot and crispy. Maybe could’ve had a little bit more meat on the spicy pork and squid since it was drowning in onions. The owner was nice and service was good. We plan on coming back.
The food was fantastic. Even my sister who is a picky eater loved it. The Kimchi Bulgogi fries were so good. The interior was a fun change and I loved the atmosphere, its a very fun hang out with friends and eat kinda vibe. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be going back.
I absolutely adore the privacy, the ambiance created by the wood paneling, and the overall decor of this restaurant. The food is simply delicious. It’s a great relief to have a restaurant that’s open a bit later near home, especially since I work late. Sometimes, my friend and I would love to have a nice, quiet dinner together after work. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
This is a great spot for hanging out and drinking with friends. The place has nice decor and good vibes. It's called Pocha, and it really gives you that authentic pocha feel -- like the red tent-style street stalls in Korea that usually serve hot food. Personally, I found it a bit warm inside the tent since there isn't much airflow (the tent blocks it), and these tents are typically meant for outdoor use to protect from cold and wind. My friends and I ordered a bunch of food and drinks, and the bill came out to under $130 - cheaper than we expected for everything we had. The prices are very reasonable! Here's what we tried: - French Fries - They didn't look quite like the photo on the menu, but they were still good and simple, like any fries. - Corn Cheese - Really tasty! I liked the cheese they used. - Ramyun - Came with an egg; simple and classic, just like any good ramyun. - Rose Tteokbokki - Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. I did feel this one was a little pricey compared to the rest. - Kimchi Fried Rice - Well-seasoned and a huge portion. Even with four of us, we had plenty of leftovers. - Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken - Delicious, crispy, and a large portion. We devoured it! - Korean Beef Short Rib - Huge portion and nicely seasoned. They offered white rice with it, but we passed since we already had the fried rice. Everything was great - amazing ambiance, excellent service. The staff checked on us often and made sure everything was good. They also offer free refills on banchan (side dishes), and the banchan itself was delicious (I forgot to mention that earlier!). Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fun night out with friends. It's open late (until 2 AM!), so it's perfect for hanging out until midnight.
The restaurant features a Korean pub-style ambiance—both cozy and private, making it an ideal spot for gathering with friends. The menu offers delicious and flavorful Korean pub dishes, complemented by a lively atmosphere with music videos playing and friendly staff. The restaurant is open daily from 4 PM to 2 AM. I ordered: Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken; Spicy Fish Intestine and Roe Stew Soup; LA Beef Short Rib; Stir-fried pork, kimchi with tofu; Chicken feet in spicy sauce. Highly recommended!
This was our first time here, and everything we ordered was seriously so yummy ! * Sweet & Spicy Wings - These were huge, juicy, and had the perfect crispy crunch, even with the sauce. * Grilled Pork Skin - Pairs perfectly with the onions! I personally prefer mine a bit chewier, but still fantastic--definitely better than most I've had at other pochas. Chefs kiss! * Beef Short Rib - Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Loved the char! * Soju with Grapefruit & Sprite - So refreshing and the perfect complement to the meal. Cozy little joint with good music and the service was spot on too. Overall, everything was spot on, and we'll definitely be back for more! We want to try the flavored beer next time since they ran out of the syrups.
Such a fun and flavorful Korean spot! From the moment we walked in, we loved the lively yet cozy atmosphere — perfect for a casual dinner or late-night hangout. The menu has so many great options, from spicy kimchi stew and bulgogi to crispy dumplings and savory grilled dishes, all packed with bold, delicious flavors. The portions are generous and everything we tried came out hot and fresh. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. Great place to share food with friends and enjoy authentic Korean street-style eats. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the Houston/Katy area!
Spicy chicken feet in broth—I asked for extra spicy and o boy it’s 🌶️ 🌶️ probably one of the spiciest I had in a long time. Beansprouts are perfectly cooked, not mushy but slightly crunchy. The hotpot is served in a tabletop burner to keep it hot while eating. Only downside of their menu is that they don’t seem to have a lot of small side dishes options to go with the main dish. Overall it was a good experience. Food was good . Service was excellent.
The service was outstanding. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant. We rang the bell for service and the waitress was there within 5 seconds. I was amazed. The food was good. Spicy. I love spice. We ordered the baby octopus with fried pork. My only complaint was that I found no pork in either of our plates. The Ramen soup was yum. The squid was a new one for us. It was interesting but it was alright, just a bit chewy. We also ordered the fried chicken with fries. The seasoning was good and it had the perfect crunch.
Decent place to hang out at night. Food was okay. I was expecting they would have more flavors though. Chicken with melted cheese and spicy & vegetables stew were good. Steamed egg was bland, stir fry octopus with noodles was a little bit too sweet to my taste. Soy garlic fried chicken and chicken feet were average. Interior is very nice, gives you the feeling of street food vendors in Korea. They open until 2am so definitely a pros here in Katy. Overall, give them a try to see if it fits your style.
I was interested to try Hanshin Pocha because I had never visited before and I’m glad to say we weren’t disappointed! The restaurant interior is sectioned off into individual dining booths with call buttons to grab wait staff’s attention. In regards to the food, we were happy with almost everything we tried. The Kimchi Fried Rice was the star of the evening for us, it was super flavorful and the pieces of kimchi were warm and flavorful. The Kimchi Pancake was both good and bad. It had a nice crispy edge with lots of fresh green onions on top, but the middle of the pancake was a little soggy and we were not served any sauce for the pancake. The Sausage and Vegetable Soup was great! The broth was very flavorful and I loved the pieces of kimchi inside. It came with ramen noodles and a mixture of hotdogs, ham, and spam inside. We didn’t receive any banchan other than a small bowl of japchae, but it was really good! It was also served warm, which I appreciated since most Korean restaurants don’t heat it up when serving it as banchan. The dumplings were great! Super crispy and tasty, especially with the savory sauce they are served with. Also, they have a promotion where you can get 4 free dumplings for writing a review. Some other notes on the restaurant, we weren’t fans of the water flavor, but that’s a common trend I’ve noticed across several residents in Katy Asia Town. Additionally, the music played inside is great! It’s a mix of non mainstream kpop, which was enjoyable to listen to. We split 3 entrees between 4 people and paid about $15 a person, so the price is pretty good. Overall, the food is mostly good and I was satisfied with the restaurants ambience and service. I will probably return again to try more items : )!
We came to Katy Asia town to check out this pocha place on a Friday night. Luckily we arrived before the dinner rush and got a table at the booth for 6 people. The push for service button made it easier to order or catch our waitress' attention when we needed a refill. They have a pretty simple menu of all the food you would typically see at a pocha place. We ordered the following for our table: - corn cheese: this was different than what I expected from the usual corn cheese. The cheese was a bit too creamy and threw me off but the portion was big enough to share. - french fries: plain french fries, we thought there would be more seasoning so we asked for spicy mayo which made it a bit better. - sweet and spicy wings (small): not nearly as spicy as we would have liked so it was mostly sweet. The flavors should be more balanced. - soy garlic wings (small): pretty decent flavor. The wings were a good size and a size small gives you 6 wings. - Korean beef short rib: the marinate on the short rib was good but eating it white rice would have been better to balance the flavor. - rose rice cake, added the ramen: this dish took the longest since we had to wait for it to heat up. At one point, it started to burn a little. It needed more noddles so we ordered a side of ramen. Ramen is a much better choice. - stir fried pork, kimchi with tofu: I wasn't a fan of the tofu but the stir fried pork with kimchi was good. We also ordered a few bottles of soju. It was pretty alright, a bit too much yogurt flavor. Overall, the food was a bit of a missed for us but we were still able to finish everything. Service was friendly and they did a pretty good job given how busy it got throughout the night.
Cute restaurant but food is overpriced for what you get. $25 for rose tteokbokki that’s majority filler onions and cabbage is ridiculous, double the price of most places. No bonchan for grilled dishes and one bowl of rice for a table of 4, extra rice is $1.99 each. The fried chicken was good but you also don’t get any sides with it, unlike other Korean fried chicken places. They also have “limited” menus so every table only gets 1 menu, regardless the number of people.
This isn’t our first time here, but the food quality has gone downhill ever since they switched chefs. Today, the fried chicken was extremely mushy and the fried rice was completely lacking in seasoning. We ended up leaving and eating somewhere else, even though they offered us 50% off.
