While looking for properties in the area, we stopped in for some early dinner. Amazing food, and great service! Everyone was very kind. We live in Florida, we are foodies. So we know good food! Definitely an Alaskan gem!

EDIT to original post: Claudia was amazing and went the extra mile to figure out what happened, turns out huge miscommunication as I have a shellfish allergy and it got put across no veggies. She reached out to me and made it right. I just had another helping of the pasta and it is amazing as it was the first time! Top notch customer care!! Thank you for going above and beyond to find out what happened and fix the concern!!! They take care of their customers! Recommend 100% when you want a nice sit down place to eat! Disregard.. Miscommunication !! Was here last week and had an amazing meal. The creamy pesto pasta with roasted potatoes,onions and chicken. Ordered it again Tonight as it was so good before and was extremely disappointed. No potatoes and no onions. Doesn’t even taste the same. The menu lists those as ingredients. For the $$ I expected more consistency especially only 1 week apart.

Ive always loved this place- try to pop in for a date night here every couple months. Steaks always good, mac n cheese is my bfs favorite, we always love their other pasta dishes. Even their brussel sprouts are delicious. My man and I went on Sunday night, packed like usual, great service from Brooke, incredible margarita & other cocktail from Sam. My only complaint is that I WAITED SO LONG to try their poke bowl!!! INCREDIBLE! Even the one that doesn’t like sushi couldn’t get enough 10/5 ⭐️

This was our first time here, and we will certainly be coming back. Our server/bartender Sam was wonderful, kind and attentive. He also made the most delicious mocktail. Service was fast, the food was delicious, and the view was nice as well. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes and drinks!

Everything was absolutely exquisite! From the ambiance, to the views outside, the music, to our outstanding waitress Brooke, and the lemon caper Rockfish with basil risotto and sautéed veggies. OMG! Like seriously exceeded all expectations! The rockfish and spinach artichoke dip and oysters with raspberry jalapeño mignonette was the perfect appetizer for our group of 6. Brooke recommended everything the the T honey, and she was so on point. Her fresh personality and infectious smile and energy was exactly what we needed. She even took pictures for our group our back. Kudos to you girl! & the chef, can't forget the chef haha we will definitely be returning and referring! Thank you! 🥰👐🏾

My wife and I took our kids there on a Thursday night, 3-16-23. The staff was very friendly and we had a great experience. My wife had shrimp pasta, and I had fish and chips. Both meals were amazing, along with the dessert. Great price, and the view is amazing. There is one problem, though. My wife is pregnant, and we live in Nebraska. Guess who is craving the shrimp pasta now that we are home.

We've been hearing how the Flats is the best place to eat on the peninsula since we moved here; but never had a chance to eat there until recently. No reservations needed, we happened to go there during live music night (Thursday)! We were worried about our 2yr old running amuck and the noise pushing his terrible toddler destructive path further. Turns out the little man loved watching the performer and sat captivated the whole time! Not to mention he scarfed his kids meal down. He actually finished all his cheeseburger and fries! High reviews from that little dude. Parking: The entrance was harder for first time goers. Could be the piles of snow or having to slow down coming in from a busy high speed road that made it hard. Either way the sparse parking fills up fast. Maybe they measure their parking lot for the capacity of the dining hall? Atmosphere: Classy cabin on the Kenai. They capitalized on the view of the vast open river. Or at least the flat area that the river runs through. Upon entry our toddler pointed out local photos of wildlife on the walls. The bar area isn't in your face like other places. The live performer made it a little loud over the restaurant chatter. But he was a talented man that didn't seem overbearing with his music. Service: We were greeted upon entry and didn't see the sign in on the counter. However, we were still seated quickly. We felt like service was a little slow and she provided a coloring page for the kids but no crayons, even after we asked. The manager/ maybe owner was walking around observing and checking with guests. Food: Cheeseburger was a win with the toddler. Gumbo was a win with the spouse, although a little peppery. Fowl was cooked perfectly and tasted like like the flavors of Alaska and northern lights.

For an enjoyable dining experience The Flats Bistro is one of two of my favorite restaurants in the area. My group of 6 including 3 children appreciate their effort to keep us entertained by live music with coloring for the kids. The blackened shrimp fettuccini was cooked to perfection. The sides were shared amongst us and chicken pieces from the child’s menu. All was delicious.

A good friend proposed here and the staff went far above and beyond to make the event perfect. And to top it all off, the food was absolutely incredible. I had the crab stuffed rockfish and it may have been one of the best things I've ever eaten. The views are stunning, so if you're looking for a nice restaurant on the peninsula for a night out or a special occasion, I highly recommend checking out The Flats Bistro.

Great service, nice atmosphere. The food was good, but it could have been better. The oysters are excellent, with a very mild flavor. The jalapeno sauce they come with is awesome (and very mild in spice), even for my dad, who thinks black pepper is spicy. The yellow eye was a bit overcooked and on the dry side, and my dad was also not a fan of the rice cake that comes with it either. Ask for Olivia, she was an excellent server 🥰

The food was great. Took a long time to come out though. I wish our waiter had been more attentive and more present. We had to kind of flag him down at times. I had the crispy pork belly and it was good. I think it needed a little more seasoning but that's my personal opinion. Veggies were cooked prefect. The appetizers were so good. I ordered the dates and they were to die for. The Mac n cheese was so Creamy. The goat cheese and Brussel sprouts had my mouth watering. Very good. My friend had the primavera which was wonderful but the bread it came with had no butter offered with it which was disappointing and the half chicken was slightly dry which was to bad because the flavor was on point.

Took the wife out for dinner and had the worst experience ever with this restaurant. We were seated quickly and got or orders in. Then we had to wait over an hour for our food to even come out of the kitchen. When we finally got our food it was cold. Did have a good flavor though. When we finished, we order some dessert to go. Should have known better by this time. Another 30 minutes before we got half our dessert order and had to ask for the rest of it. Will not be going back anytime soon, if ever!!!
