Great value fort your money! Food is good. Happy hour frozen margarita it's amazing. Jesus was our waiter and he is really friendly! Great time all around
From the Houston area and have had so many different styles of Mexican food. Hands down this place has the best refried beans I’ve ever had in my life!!! Great service and great food!🥳💕
El Bracero is one of my favorite places to eat in Kingsland. The portions are huge and delicious. The service can be slow at times, but this is not a fast food place. The staff is always friendly. Thanks for being in Kingsland.
Don't let the exterior throw you off. The food was delicious and in generous portions. They don't accept cards or checks, so bring cash or use their ATM provided inside.
The food is always very pleasing to look at and eat. The wait staff are always really nice and fun to talk with. I would give six stars if I could and the portions are more than enough
In my opinion, they are the best Mexican restaurant in Kingsland. I get my burrito from them every morning! Sooo good! Consistently amazing!
Had the chimichanga plate and wife had the tamale deluxe plate. The food was awesome and we're large portions. The chip salsa could stand to be a little spicier.
Have been coming here since I moved into town years ago. Great service an even better food. They will not disappoint you!
Great food and really nice staff. Reasonably priced too. I just love their Saturday and Sunday Menudo with Hominy, fresh onions and jalapenos. So good!
Food was delicious and we were late after work 5 minutes till closing and they had no problem letting me make a order to leave friendly waitresses and as I said the food was delicious I had the Suicide Burrito and my body had the enchiladas and he said his was great too.
Food was very good and the waitresses were pleasant. I'd definitely eat there again.
It's not a "fancy" restaurant... BUT, it serves good sized portions of really good food at really good prices...and I'll take that over an expensive decor every day. It's clean. It's spacious. The service has been good the times I've been there. The Chili Poblano plate I had tonight...stuffed with picadillo...was excellent. The salsa that comes out with the chips has a good flavor with just a bit of heat. That's just how I like it!
My son's eighth birthday was the best he has ever had thanks to the generous & hospitable staff at El Bracero. They sang to him and treated him like family. We didn't have a party just a small family dinner, but they went out of their way to make him feel special. Also, the food is delicious and authentic. Portions are huge for the price. Best restaurant in Llano County!
A face-lift inside has made eating here an additional welcome. Dining remains relaxing and service is always with a smile. And the food remains plentiful as well as delicious. A place where a large family can enjoy space plenty. They serve beverages also.
We love El Bracero. Been coming here for years! My kids come in from Lubbock and New Jersey (military) and it's the first place they want to go. Not the most beautiful accommodations but the foods is GREAT! Portions are Great! Service is good (depending on if it's not a Sunday is Great!) Chips and salsa are O.K. sometimes they are stale but the salsa is good. Love everything on the menu. Even the burgers and fries are good (and cheap). Green chili chicken burrito is my personal fav. If you're hungry...you went be for long!
Kudos to El Bracero! My husband, his aunt and cousin visited the restaurant Saturday evening. His aunt and family love to eat here and I can see why. No one goes away hungry! For a Mexican restaurant in a small town, their menu is extensive and well priced. Their staff helped me find a delicious gluten free option, the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was cooked well, and the cocktail sauce itself was wonderful. Thank you, El Bracero for an enjoyable evening dinner with family.
You honestly cannot go wrong with this place. Always tasty and great value! It's nice to be able to dine in at places! Even so, their take out options were great!
Best little hole in the wall restaurant in town!! Food is great, and service is good, fairly speedy if they aren't loaded, nice staff! Ive gotten almost everything at least once. It won't disappoint!
The chips and salsa are awesome. Salsa was just spicy enough. Lunch special Monday - Friday $9.50 includes tea. Very authentic. Great service. Would come again!
Excellent food! The staff are friendly, the place is clean.
Everything here is delicious 😋. I recommend the whole menu.. the food portions are huge. Chili poblano is my fave!
It was a bit busier than normal, according to my family, for this past Father's Day weekend, which was good, though they seemed a bit short on staff. The food is ALWAYS incredible, the servers are kind, and the atmosphere is homey.
Delicious food at a great price. Fast service and friendly staff.
My kid loves the food here. I do too but I like it more spicy. Try the flautas is the reason we keep going back.
Best Mexican food in all of Llano County
My husband and I have eaten here several times. The servers are friendly and the food comes out HOT! You can not ask for a better combination. They also serve alcohol and there is a Happy Hour. The enchiladas are delicious and the portions are man friendly. The menu is quite large and varied. There are many different plates/side orders to choose from. All meals can be prepared for take out and breakfast tacos are readily available to go. These are generous tacos so you get your money’s worth. There are the usual drinks, coffee, tea, juice, hot tea etc. There is a children’s menu. There are clean restrooms and plenty of parking. If it’s cold outside don’t sit by the door. It can get chilly there. The parking is easy to navigate. There are spaces in the front and on the side. We really like eating here. The staff is so friendly and quick to bring out whatever you need for example: extra cream, salsa, to go box. You will like it here as the dining area is large and the tables a fair distance apart. Happy dining!!
First time here, the food was delicious! Not just quality but quantity too! They definitely don’t ration their food here like most restaurants. 10/10
Food was perfect for myself and hubby and son In law's was fresh and yummy also. Tortilla soup is favorite from here. Hubby had nachos with beef and chicken. Granddaughter ordered eggs pancakes and bacon. Other meal was taquitos so freshly made.
Super good and authentic Mexican food the flour tortillas are perfect fluffy great family owned business 💪
Stopped in with some friends for lunch. The food was excellent. What a great find. We were treated very well and will go again if we're in town.
I love going to El Bracero after church on Sunday. My boyfriend and I love sharing beef fajitas for two. The portion is large enough that we always have some left to eat with breakfast the following morning! Service is great!
This place was amazing the Queso was top tier. There was nothing we ordered that was t good. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was nice and friendly. Was able to get seated right away.
Wonderful waitress and very professional and friendly. The food is without a doubt authentic, tasteful and you will not leave hungry( though uyou may need a to go box) there is so much food on the plate. We recommended this place to our son and his wife now they are hooked!we all just keep coming back again and again every week! Best Margaritas in hill country for sure! Been many places but Braceros takes #1. We’ve been many places. Staff is very friendly and accommodating whole place is clean and atmosphere is great!
My family and I were at the lake for a vacation, we came across this place and almost decided fast food over it. It was the best decision to stay and eat. The interior was so different and creative. The food was hands down amazing. The rice and refried beans didn't taste like all of these tex mex famous places they tasted authentic. We all got different items on the menu and it was all incredible. If you're passing through it's worth stopping at and trying. We will definitely be back when we are in that area. Don't judge the place but the outside wither like I tried to do because then you'll never get to try some amazingly different food.
Only down side are the chips. Never hot and basket just sitting and waiting to be served. There are some under the heat lamp, I'm not sure if those are special request. Makes them seem stale. Rest of experience, great.
Great food. Large belongs so go with an appetite or take a box away. The quality is excellent.
I've been twice. Both times on a Saturday for a late lunch, around 1PM. They are popular and busy but we have been lucky both times to be seated right away. I live over an hour away but drive up there to visit my uncle and cousins and we generally meet for lunch. I have not been disappointed. The food is amazing. And the staff is friendly and attentive.
Great TX-Mex food, reasonable price, generous size portions, and friendlyattentive wait staff
Staff was welcoming and attentive. As soon as we walked it we were immediately greeted. Beer was cold (no draft). Chips and salsa is delish. Got the nachos with fajita beef. Was legit. We went on a Wednesday and it was crowded. Was a 5-10 minute wait. Ended up sitting at the bar. Which was nice. Highly recommend.
Best Mexican restaurant in the entire hill country area! They give massive portions, fresh salsa, great flavors all served nice and hot. This was a great restaurant experience. I can't recommend this place enough
Mixture of American and Mexican food for breakfast. Have not had lunch here but breakfast was good with good service. Will visit again. And unlike many places in Kingsland area you can pay with credit card or debit card, they seem to understand good business sense at the counter. They also take Apple Pay and Google Pay etc. As of about March 2019 late they no longer take credit cards payment, I have no idea why Restaurants in the Kingsland area can't take credit and debt cards, include the cost of doing business the fee's the cards charge. Everywhere else seems to be no problem.
Great food! Slow, slow service. They only take cash. The menus are in need of a serious cleaning! They have food all over them! Had to wash my hands after reading it!
Seriously, food is dang good. Taco salad was massive and had a large portion of meat in it for great price. Tried other places that were over hour wait, came here... Why go anywhere else? Service wasn't bad, but want great either.
My Food was great. My grandmother got a cheese enchilada that was hard as a rock tho. when we went to the font to pay we were waiting for quite a while before someone was able to help us. I guess they were a little busy but there were other people that had been waiting to pay as well, at least have someone take payments real quick.
The food was excellent! The restaurant was beautiful and clean. Most of the staff seemed to really enjoy being there. Our server was kind but not very attentive.
The food was pretty standard small town Mexican: decent but nothing outstanding. They seemed a bit short staffed out front, so we had to chase down our server once or twice, but the food came out quickly and was hot and fresh.
The food is good and servings are HUGE. Service is good and friendly. Prices are reasonable. This isn't my favorite style of Mexican food. But, it definitely fits in the budget especially if there's a group and you want to share.
Wow. What an improvement. Went there a couple of years ago and was not impressed at all. Thought I'd never go back. Last week, we gave them another chance. So glad we did. They now have bar service with premium tequilas. That's a nice bonus. The cheese they use is very good. I know that sounds minor, but if you've eaten at places where the cheese melts into a thin mess, you know what "good quality cheese" means. And the Carne Guisada is FANTASTIC. Service is lacking but only because they need another waiter or two for the busy times. And restaurants are usually only busy for one reason - they are good.
I ordered my breakfast tacos over the phone for pick up and the staff was so kind and courteous. These tacos are definitely some of the biggest and best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend their breakfast menu.
Dining alone, they brought out chips, salsa, and water. Their diet coke was out. Ordered the small queso, and it was good but barely warm. I ordered cheese enchiladas with chili con carne on top, 1 tamale with the same sauce, and a crunky beef taco. Lettuce was fresh. Taco was really good. Everything tasted good but would have been better if it had been served on a very hot plate. I didn't get a chance to tell anyone because the server never came back to the table. I worked in and managed several Mexican restaurants for over 10 years. I am used to eating barely warm food because getting a break to eat lunch/dinner. That said, when I go out to eat now, I expect food to be served hot. I believe because I came at 8pm 1 hour before closing, the kitchen was already in shutdown mode.
Great food! Consistently great at that, too! They have recently built a beautiful bar and they are now serving drinks that are very tasty. We dine in and pick up To Go very regularly. I would give that 5th star if they would just upgrade their furniture, because the chairs and booths are very worn and uncomfortable.
Very good food. Bad service.
Food was normal. Chips are thick so that's not my favorite but the salsa was good, not too hot and the cheese dip was really good. They need to invest in a water filter for the ice. I could smell the chlorine as I have a very sensitive nose and taste. It's a big place inside so we didn't feel rushed as a big group to eat and get out which was nice. However, the chairs and booths are not comfortable. They are pretty but the back is straight up.
Food has always been great & prompt. Maybe a hickup once or twice over the past 4 or 5 years but that can happen anywhere. I really do recommend this place for good Mexican - Tex Mex food. Plus great breakfast tacos & quick for pick up when your in a rush in the morning. Always a fan & will continue to be a loyal customer.
Dining at El Bracero is always as expected. The portions are oversized and delicious. The wait staff is pleasant and efficient. The pricing is very reasonable and their Mango Margaritas are excellent. Although they can be especially busy at times your food is usually served within reason.
I like that he tables were spaced out so we were pretty far from anyone other customers. I wasn't a fan of the salso or chips but when covered with melted cheese and fajita meet, they were delicious. It had just the right amount of greeseyness to it. I got beef and chicken enchiladas and both were good although next time I will probably get chicken. The white queso also mixed well with their rice. Definitely will go back and try other entrees! EDIT: Subtracted one star purely due to service. Food is still super delicious but the customer service aspect can be improved. I keep coming back because everything is just soooooooo good!!!!
Place is in need of an overhaul Ceiling tiles falling down. Wine selection horrible. Only 3 to choose from. Chillable Red, Moscato,& Chardonnay. Might as well serve Boone's Farm or Mad Dog. Food is good however.
It's good food but service is kinda slow. Service was better till we git our food, then it was bad!!! They upgraded their inside, I really like it. Although food is normally great, this time not so much, not sure but some of it tasted like soap was in the food.
The food is amazing, the service is horrible though. The waitress consistently ignored our table, allowing drinks to sit empty. Tables that came in later served first, offering them refills and refills of chips. The prices were good as well. If only the service was better.
This restaurant is CASH ONLY. We ate here on a Sunday afternoon with only 5 other patrons in the dining room. There were 6 employees standing in the kitchen, but service was still slow. Generous portion sizes, although the menu was very basic and bland.
Food is good most of the time and they have fair pricing. My only complaint is the service is not always good. The lady that works the register though is great.
Normally good food and excellent service. Today 11/27 about 10 am breakfast was warm, after I received my food last time I received service. Waitresses were too busy talking to other people and employees to come back and check on me. Only had the one cup of coffee I received at first since no one offered any other service. Evenings and the other time I ate here everything was great, hot food, great service, and a pleasure to be there.
This place is okay for a small town. Be warned the chips and corn tortillas taste like they have flour added. So if you are gluten-free beware as I don't feel their corn products are safe for you. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. So if you don't have food sensitivities I don't think you can go wrong trying this restaurant out. Enjoy
The food is good, service is hit or miss, hot sauce and chips aren't good at all. Mom is in her 80s and loves this place, so we take her often. She likes the portions and all the cheese. We spend around $15-$25 per person.
What's to say? The service was slow, the food was mediocre and the margaritas were lousy. The guacamole dip was tiny. The salsa tasted like it had been made in the morning and left out all day. The chips were pretty good.
Food was okay, but it is cash only, so be prepared for that. We saw someone applying makeup powder to their nose in the kitchen area which seems a little unhealthy/inappropriate, and the bathrooms were not clean.
The decor here it's very drab. Service was good. The breakfast tacos were not very good. Chorizo had very little flavor. They weren't talking credit cards what we were there... Not sure why
queso was good. some chips chewy and stale. floor disgustingly dirty. service slow. waitress didnt come by much at all. beef enchilades and beans decent. rice you could tell had been precooked and refridgerated and reheated. guacomole not fresh tasted store bought. slow checking out. disappointed with this place. alfredos way better. dont plan coming back
Reviews were correct, the two waitresses just need simple proper training. Smiles go a long way, refilling coffee and being aware of customer needs is a must. Today I received food- no service. I paid exactly that. Hope they got my message.
Everytime I order from here my order isn't correct or it isn't complete. Also when I order I ask for chip salsa so they don't give me the red and green sauce and it didn't make it in the bag just the red and green sauce. It's very frustrating to come home and sit down to eat and not have what I asked for. I love the food it's delicious but there is a reason I ask for what I ask for.
Party of 3. 4:30 p.m. waitress put the wrong order infront of husband which he smothered in hot sauce before realized not his. The person who's order it was doesn't do spicy. Waitress came apologized for her mix up so asked for new plate. Nachos were cold, chicken enchiladas were strange, shredded ck was only on top of what we assumed were enchiladas, husband did not like at all. When got bill they charged for both dinners (was just kids plate). Thought would have comped one. $40 down the drain. Won't give this place a 3rd chance.
This used to be the only place we could go eat in Kingsland where my husband did not complain. The staff has changed. The food has changed. Nothing comes out at the same time. Waited forever to get our drinks...had to ask twice..... We come to eat together....but, someone always has to wait on their food....today was our last time...we will not be back!!!!
Water tastes like dirt. Horchata tastes like watery play dough...wasn’t true horchata. I’m not sure what it was. The beef burrito was literally ground beef wrapped in a tortilla shell. Service was subpar. The $1 tip was generous. Family restaurant is a cool idea. Definitely room for improvement though.
Unfortunately, our visit Monday night was not good from start to finish. We walked in to only 3 people working: the cook, 1 bartender, and 1 server. 5 people were waiting in line to pay, 3 tables were waiting to have their order taken, and we were ready to order as well. Staff attempted to take care of everybody but were untrained as they didnt know how much to charge for items or how to balance the tables that needed service. We finally got our order taken after 20 minutes. When we received our to go order, we were missing 1 plate all together, the 2 chicken tacos were beef, and another plate was the wrong plate. Overall, not impressed with this place anymore.
This place use to be to good a wonderful place the staff was friendly not now food has a lot of fillers potatoes in the enchiladas a bunch. The service is horrible the girls r looking around at each other and ignore you. What was a good place is terrible now.
Second time to try and equally dissatisfied. I really want to like this place, because it's walkable from our lakehouse. But we visited last Friday and it was awful. The food was edible, but barely. The service was decent. Waitstaff seem not too thrilled to be there. There is zero ambience. The restaurant itself is totally depressing. The choices in Kingsland are limited, but find somewhere else to go.
Was doing better but not today. We eat here almost every Sunday alternating different restaurants but this is the third time they've made a major mess up on us. Today we came in for lunch before we went in for work and ordered Papas Rancheras and a Nacho Deluxe. Took 20 minutes for the potato plate and another 10 before my dad finally got the nacho deluxe, with stale chips and more lettuce than a fresh produce shelf at heb. This was the third time we've tried to start coming back here but I don't think it's worth it anymore. I can only recommend la tequila Jalisco's from now on.
I’m not really one to post reviews but the service here is horrible. It’s actually very disappointing because their food is actually quite good. We spent about 10 mintutes waiting for lemons and salsa as our food got cold. Mind you during this time, I saw waitresses on their phone as we waited. I had to get up from my seat and ask TWICE for what we requested. By the time we received what we requested, our food was cold. I will not eat my food without my salsa or lemon. After my complaint, no one returned to attend our table. If you want great food but horrible service, this place is the place to go.
My wife and I went in for breakfast. We sat down and ordered coffee and water to start. They took our order and that's when it went down hill. As time went and I watched people come and go and order and finish meals it was really aggravating. I watched the server come around with coffee and then only chose to serve who she may think was dropping a decent tip. After 30 minutes of waiting and not wanting to make a scene, we decided to leave. This has been the second time at this place where the service has gotten worse. I have been many times and I always sit where I can watch what's happening and this was what I observed. It did feel like certain people were getting treated with better service than others. Sad but it's nothing new in this area.
Service has consistently been bad! Today dirty tables everywhere with no effort to clean them. (Very few people there at that time). Drinks delivered wrong two times, had to ask for chips and salsa three times. My husband had to ask for his tortillas two times, they arrived after his food had gotten cold. The pretty decent food does not make up to the poor service. Too many other Mexican restaurants nearby to waste almost two hours here due to lousy service.
We sat down, ordered margaritas ans chips and salsa. It took about 5-10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. They were too sweet. It took about 20-30 minutes for the chips and salsa to arrive. The chips were stale and cold. It took awhile for our food to arrive. The food was good but the service was bad.
Service does not exist here. Took us 30 minutes to get chips and salsa. The chips were extremely cold and old. waiters are all over the place. Margaritas were extremely weak and it did not taste good. not trying to leave a bad review but it was pretty bad
I frequently go to el El Bracero and there’s always something that goes wrong, either the order is wrong or there’s something in our food. You can always expect to find a hair in your food. Today I went and there was a green fly in my son’s food. And the owner’s daughter was apologizing and laughing at the same time. I don’t find anything amusing about the situation. We just paid for our food and left, we weren’t about to eat the food anymore. PEOPLE CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE EATING IT.
