I typically visit this place when it's not busy. A busy Cracker Barrel isn't always fun. The staff does their best, but people are people. This time the server was great. The food was great. Great experience overall.

The bacon and egg hashbrown casserole was delicious so many layers of flavors. The totts were also yummy! Such a decadent breakfast! 🤤

My Experience was great. went to Cracker Barrel with my family of 9. Had a fun time. We had a birthday party and everyone enjoyed themselves.

This particular location has really stepped up their game, the server Chris was excellent. The food came out fast hot, well prepared and they had a manager walking around seeing if everything was satisfactory,. Big change.

Had some of the best cinnamon rolls ever Christmas eve eve. The staff dad so kind, we came in just before closing and they still got the rolls we we hoping for. They were delicious!!

I had the pancakes and the three meats breakfast. The warm bottles of syrup made this a winner! I will be getting them again. We even played a game of checkers on the front porch.

Family loves going for breakfast here. Great pancakes and syrup. Always fluffy. Cozy atmosphere and good service. Son loves the French Toast. Free Biscuits are always yummy. My only complaint is I never know how they decide when they give the free biscuits because it's not all the time.

Absolutely delicious. The best rainbow trout that I've ever had. Everything was perfect. I had quit going to CB a long time ago, due to quality decreased. Either they improved greatly as a company, or at least this location is perfect. I'll definitely return to this location.

Had lunch here with my wife, the food was really good. We got chedder bites, fried pickles , and we both got honey butter fried chicken. All of which was hot and fresh. We used to eat at Cracker Barrel quite often 25 yrs ago. Wow, has it changed: the extended menu now includes an array of alcoholic beverages and $5 take home plates. My husband ordered the country ham, grits and hash brown casserole. He trimmed a lot of fat off the ham but was otherwise very happy with his meal. I had the rainbow trout, greens & hashbrown casserole. The fish was very good, though the portion was small. The hashbrown casserole wasn't as hot or flavorful as I'd remembered. It felt like we caught the restaurant at an off time, as it took a while to be seated, and we had to wait for water refills. Tables near us took a long time to get cleared as well. Almost all the staff looked very young, so perhaps there's been a recent turnover & they are in training. We paid with egift cards, which took a while. The young cashier learned the process along with us and remained both patient & pleasant. We plan to return.

Their pancakes are unquestionably the best. The loaded tots are absolutely delicious. Try it with ketchup for an extra yum. It's the service that's lacking. The Richey location really needs to step up their customer service. I waited long periods of time to be seated despite plenty of seating behind available. Once seated the wait continued as the manager had to take my order drink and food for water order. They weren't short staffed because I saw servers hanging out in the kitchen instead of working the dining room. The whole menu isn't available such as the biscuit breakfast. I was told to just get the grandpa's breakfast and make my own biscuit breakfast 🤔. I think the food is delicious but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

The side of bacon was delivered over well done. Our server was great and replaced it. The regular hash browns were asked to be crispy and didn’t come out as requested. At the store they didn’t give us an item.

I was trying to have a light breakfast but instead, I went all out. $32 for breakfast that wasn't perfect or timely. I'll probably keep that in mind for the future. It took an amazingly long time for my did to come out and when it did, it wasn't complete, and was wrong. Only to mention, nothing was hot, I think my problem was having the Steak and Eggs. The eggs were cold, the pancakes were cold a well. So cold, in fact, it didn't melt the butter. The Steak was ordered Medium and as you can see it wasn't. The add-ons that nickel and dimed the check, didn't arrive correctly. After that it took longer for it to come out correctly. Spots were made along the way orders were taken while my food was being held on a tray, for literally minutes. But I don't go to this location often, so I'll stick to the others I do.

I ordered Momma’s French Toast Breakfast for my lunch. It comes with 4 pieces of French toast, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of sausage. The toast was very delicious, eggs were ok but sausage was very dry. I heard that service wasn’t quite good but our waitress was very friendly and nice. She kept checking us if we were doing ok. It’s very close to my house, so I think I’ll definitely come back.

This visit wasn't very great,usually the food is on point but this day they couldn't even cook an over medium egg. But on the bright side they do have a great general store that sells all kinds of goodies. I will return here because I know that 1 bad day don't make a place bad. So if your looking for a home.cooked meal and wanna do.some browsing this place is a good choice.

There's been some talk lately about CB with some comments about the food, specifically the biscuits. We were here about an hour before closing and the biscuits were perfect. Very warm and pretty darn soft. Excellent service as usual. Mom ordered the fried catfish and the server mentioned that they were out of tartar sauce, but that they had made a sauce with mayo and chowchow, which mom said was very good. I was impressed that they worked with what they had to create a close alternative. Way to go Cracker Barrel - Kingwood! Also, thanks for doing your best with folks who showed up late-ish.

So, I'm there on Saturday morning with a friend for Breakfast on my Birthday. The waiter comes over after we are seated. Takes our drink order then asks us if we're ready to order our food in which my friend says yes. But before the waiter puts the order on his IPad he informs us it will be a minute cause his pad is malfunctioning. He steps away and about 10 minutes pass before coming back to finally take our order. We then waited almost an hour in which the waiter would come and tell us it's going to be soon when our food would be coming out. Now I am a patient person but an hour is too much. Then the head manager came over to apologize, explained the situation and gave us his card in which he wrote we would be competed two meals now or later. We finally received our food that was Hot, Flavorful and Delicious. The manager Ish got my appreciation for coming to our table to explain the situation with the delay. Most restaurants just don't care about there customers but, this one did. So, I recommend this location which was a bit busy but was looking out for their customers.

Let me start by saying me and my husband like cracker barrel. We like the Grandma's breakfast with pecan pancakes.And this is one of the few locations that offer everything that we like in a breakfast. With that being said we were severely disappointed in our latest visit there. When we first arrived, the floor still had food from the previous ocdepends.There and my son's high chair had biscuits from the previous little one that would use the hot chair. Instead of being told, give me a second and I will make sure this is clean or making sure the table was clean before sitting there.I had to use of my son's wet wipes in order to wipe the table and the high chair down. When ordering, my Husband got his grandma's pancakes and they were not correct, the pecans were missing. He also stated his eggs were not cooked right in the meat tasted funny. We informed the server who got him the new pancakes, only to realize after cutting into them, they were under cook and still doughy. After waiting because we were unable to find our server. We were finally able to send the pancakes back and quest the meal be removed from our ticket. In my dismay, I was surprised that with all the issues my husband was having with his plate that the manager never came out personally to see how our service was going and how the issue could be rectified. Nonetheless, the meal was removed. When ordering my 2 kids meals for my children, my daughter was missing one of her sides which they eventually end app fixing and bringing out, but my son's meal we had to request because I think they may have forgotten to input the order. Luckily his meal was simple enough.And we did receive it but but trying to keep a two year old occupied while waiting on his food is a lot. Needless to say we probably will not be returning anytime soon at least to this location.

I love the country store. I used to love the food, but we have been dissatisfied with the food the last few recent visits. No longer a favorite restaurant.

The food and service were average at best. Once the food was ordered, we sat for what seemed like forever for the food come out. The server was not attentive at all. She checked on the table maybe twice. When we finished, we walked out of the store and purchased some items, but the cashier was on her phone and seemed like she wanted to do anything other than tender my items. She totaled my items and walked away. I guess I was a unicorn and paid with cash, but even still, why walk away when the transaction wasn’t complete? Do better.

Visited on 5/5/24. Pretty disappointing dining experience, but thankfully the store itself salvaged some of the experience. My recommendation is to go for the store, not for the food. The good: Decore, vibes, and what the store stands for, very cheap food prices The bad: Dirty (table was sticky and bathroom had no toilet paper and was stinky and had visible feces), food quality was disappointing (cold, dry, oily), and I even had a rock in my mash potatoes (see picture). 1 out of 7 plates was dirty. Experience today: tried to order 3 different menu items (roast beef, meatloaf, and steak) but none of them were available at 6:30pm. Server brought out a different item instead of asking us for a replacement for the streak. Had to vocally ask for everything from refills to napkins

I've lived and visted this country family restaurant for years. Im 70 and can not believe the lady cashier and the managers unfriendly personalities with customers. I weekly stop and check out the merchandise. I was checking out, and the cashier on 12/8/25, 4:30 pm. She rung up items that were not mine. She totally reacted like it was all my fault? Their attitudes to some customers recently is uncalled for. Same thing with the restaurant manager. Too bad. What happened to our favorite country family restaurant in Kingwood Tx.

I ordered curbside and was given the time of 2:29pm for the order to be ready. I'm there at 2:38pm and advised them of my arrival...by 2:45pm I'm calling for a status check. The person told me it was being packaged, i wait and wait...still no food so I go inside at 2:51pm and my food is just sitting there on the shelf! I'm like, my food is ready and no one brought it out!? The guy jusr hands me my bag like everything was okay! On top of that, I asked for silverware and napkins...none was included in the bag although its clearly checked off that someone did a quality check on my order! We were not eating at home so we definitely needed silverware! I gave it three stars because at least the food was good.

Service was good. Your food selection is very poor. How does a restaurant run out of food? Why not let cutomersknow before you sit them down. This is ran by poor management!! Instead of standing around with your hands in your pocket maybe you should be out talking to customers apologizing for the limited food you have!!!

I had not been to Cracker Barrel in years. The menu had changed. The food wasn’t as good as I remember. The biscuits came out dry. Our server was new and clearly had not gotten enough training. They were out of the chocolate sheet cake (which was 1 of the reasons we chose Cracker Barrel to eat at). We did order another dessert and after we asked for plates and utensils, he brought us 3 plates when there were 4 of us and 1 fork for 4 of us! Probably will not be returning anytime soon.

My wife ordered Dumplings and after about 5 minutes she was told they were out. She asked about soup and was told no soup. Ok so hamburger steak well done. Another 5-6 mins and out come a med rare HB steak. She sends it back and 31 minutes after she placed her first order out comes her HBS cooked so flat and way over well done she could hardly cut it with a knife. She ate about half and stopped. We had to keep asking for other parts of our order over and over. Food so so and service was more like we are too busy doing nothing to care. The manager on duty told me the general manager had cut the staff back due to cold weather coming on Sunday, this was Friday night. Enough said.

Seems like there's a couple of good servers running around and a group of other staff just standing around. Super cute place with southern style food, but poor management.

Brought food out burnt. The cook should know better the wait staff should know better. The fact that burnt food got thru 2 people is beyond me. Mangers this one is on you do better and train them. I know common sense is gone theses days but dang. Managers it’s easy tell your people if the food is burnt don’t take it to the tables. Waitress was young so I expect them to not have common sense. She was nice and did everything she could. I’ll give her a C grade. I took the time to educate her simply by asking do you eat burnt food. Advise her I leave a 30 dollar tip when I come her hers would be 15 for not thinking she said she would be looking from here on out.

Food was good for the most part. The fish was undercooked and the sirloin steak was thin as a shoe sole. They were out of tartar sauce and southern fried chicken which they could've mentioned they were out of tartar sauce before we ordered the fish. Instead the food arrived but they don't have the condiments. They could've brought the cornbread and biscuits to the table without us asking. Service was slow because it appears they're understaffed, although they were very courteous.

I don't care for any of the food here & the servers are rude. I tried the bowl of turnip greens & they smelled like a men's room urinal every time I put the spoon up to my mouth to take a bite. I have yet to eat something here that tastes good, besides the corn bread. UPDATE: CB was kind enough to email me a gift card to give them another chance. This time I got the Chicken & Dumplings. A little bland but ok. Food was mostly edible today however, the service could have been better. Our waitress was not very friendly. We didn't get napkins, no refills, our biscuits were rock hard. Last time my parents went, the young man literally tossed the bread basket on the table.

We sat down, got our drinks and the waitress came back to take our orders. The wife started to order her and the 3 kids French toast, the waitress interrupted her and said they are out of French toast. Why weren't we told of this when we were sat???? It's Sunday morning at 9am. Unforgivable, we would have gone to IHOP but we already were drinking the milk, OJ and Dr.Pepper we ordered. Second, I stood in a 5 person deep line to pay for over 10 minutes. Why would you only have 1 cashier at 930am on a sunday. The store merchandise was a mess, maybe 75% of the bottles soda was in the wrong place.

My family and I went to the Kingwood, Tx Cracker Barrel and it took them an hour to serve us. I ordered steak and eggs and I couldn’t eat the steak, it was so chewy I couldn’t eat it. The manager acted like he didn’t care. Never going there again.

Everyone can get an off day, but it was disappointing that it happened to us in this occasion. We brought our overseas visiting family members for breakfast today, before taking them to the airport for their return trip. We had set very high expectations, to only be disappointed for them. Our waitress Heather was great, she was doing the best she could with what was available. A long delay to get our drinks order, she advised that she had to make fresh orange juice, ok, that happens and we got freshly squeezed orange juice. Our food came in very late, and was missing one of the orders, the cinnamon roll skillet, also two of the plates came with cold food, especially the eggs. Finally, the skillet is served, but when we all had finished eating our plates. Lastly, the two sides of hash brown casseroles were uneatable, tasted like they were made from a boxed mix, this was one of our favorite things to eat. So all in all, a two stars review is generous considering a sub par food quality, which is the number one reason we come here, ouch!!!

Usually, the Cracker Barrel of the North parking in Kingwood is pretty good. They were out of multiple things and I don’t know who made their biscuits, but they looked more like empanadas. The waiting time for the table was good, the waiting time for our server 15 minutes, waiting time for our food 25 min. The cups smelled like eggs (nasty); they didn't have straws. The only good thing about my breakfast was the eggs and the hashbrown, the sausage (almost burned), ham, bacon were cold and really hard and pancakes (my favorite) were cold. Biscuits were so good. Really disappointed 😞

Its been awhile since i visited a Cracker Barrel and service was slow, best thing on my plate was the loaded mash potatoes. The brocolli casserole was dry and needed salt. My fish was not cooked well and the went and dropped it back in the grease so it made it greasy. As for my guest her meatloaf was dry with no sause to help it.

First time here and we were disappointed. The service was pretty good our waitress was always nice and attentive. The food on the other hand lacked certain flavor and also good portion on plate. The portion of food we received didn't match the price we pay for it and also there is additional charge for juice refills during breakfast. We won't be coming back to this establishment for breakfast.

What is it with Houston-area Cracker Barrels and their tiny portions of hashbrown casserole? ⚠️ INCORRECTLY NAMED FOOD ITEMS: (Two Photos) My biggest issue was with the so-called "steak fries." I've had real steak fries--thinly sliced and battered fried steak. These were just thick-cut French fries! This is deceptive given how this region does not use alternate designations for French fries. Every restaurant I've been to properly describes menu items, and nothing here indicates these are just potato fries. Misleading food names could be a serious issue for people with dietary restrictions. 👎 I was so disappointed that I only ate one fry. 👍 That one fry was decent, but the misleading name ruined the experience. 👍 The corn muffins, however, were fantastic. 🤜 In all my years of eating at Cracker Barrel, I’ve never been served corn muffins. The waitress acted like they were standard at every table!

Worst experience at a Cracker Barrel ever. They were out of about 1/3 of the food on the menu, coke, Dr Pepper and even sweeteners for tea. The only reason I stayed to eat was because my wife wanted a specific item that was actually available. Someone completely dropped the ball. The young waitress just kept apologizing and did a great job with the limited availability.

We have been eating at this Cracker Barrel for years. This trip was very disappointing. Our server, Kaylynn, did not bring any plates for muffins and biscuits, and one napkin for four people. She also chewed gum loudly and smacking. She has ipad issues for ordering, but that was not her fault. After we ordered and received our food, we never saw her again until she delivered our check. Our food was was mostly tasteless. Country Fried Steak seemed rubbery and breading wasn't crisp. Hashbrown casserole was flavorless, and chocolate chip pancakes were just pancakes with a handful of chocolate chips thrown in the middle- making the pancakes soggy. One of our party left his phone and a really nice male server (not ours) came asked if it was ours. So thank you to him!!

Well, went to the Kingwood location l. Wanted to wnjoy the New* Sausage Hasbrown bowl, which I had in Baytown, TX(was amazing). Arrived wwited 20min, sat at table. Well, I said bring me what my wofe ordered. My wife specified light pancakes. Well they were skinny and burned on the bottom. Mine were skinny and you could smell the burn from the skillet/grill. Eggs were hard, old as though they were scrambled and sat in a warming window for a long time. Wife ordered a side of cheesy grits from the table tent, they were regular with shredded cheese sprinkled on top. Tasted of a gravy. Eating all this was rough. Literally writing this while I choke down what I can, we have plans and can't stop to redo breakfast.Not exaggerating, look at pics.

Very Disappointed with Mother’s Day Breakfast at Cracker Barrel I’ve been a loyal customer for many Sundays after church, often choosing Cracker Barrel for breakfast because of the food and atmosphere. However, today’s experience—on Mother’s Day of all days—was incredibly disappointing, both in terms of food and service. We came in to celebrate and were seated promptly. The waitress enthusiastically recommended the NY Strip Steak n’ Eggs, showing us a very appealing photo, so I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even cut it with the steak knife—it was full of gristle and practically inedible. When I brought it up to Dylan, the manager, his response was dismissive. He simply said, “That’s how NY Strip usually is,” as if that justified the poor quality. What made it worse was overhearing the same steak being recommended to every guest who walked in. It felt like it was being pushed regardless of quality or suitability. Cracker Barrel staff and management should seriously reconsider how they recommend this dish, especially on a special occasion like Mother’s Day. Customers deserve to be informed about what they’re ordering—not misled by a photo or an enthusiastic pitch for a subpar item. Sadly, based on today’s experience and the lack of genuine concern from staff—especially Dylan—I no longer feel comfortable returning to that location for breakfast. It’s really unfortunate, because I used to enjoy it here.

Went there last night (11-25/25) for dinner. Waited over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. No one ever came to the table. When the table behind us got their drinks, and they arrived after us, we decided to eat Mexican food.

We ordered via the app we waited for a waiter to bring the food curbside. Once received we went home we live right across the street. The eggs and bacon were already cold and we were missing pancakes from one of the meals. We received cornbread muffins which didn’t go with our breakfast order. The stuffed cheesecake pancakes were messy the strawberries are usually in a separate cup this time they weren’t. One of the stuffed pancakes had absolutely no cheesecake in it and was cold as well. Waiting so long for food and yet it’s somehow still cold doesn’t make sense. I’ve been eating at this particular Cracker Barrel for 3 years and the service has been declining fast. Clearly no one paid attention to what we ordered and the food sat there and got cold there no way food will get that cold and we drove across the street. I’m done eating at this location the simple mistakes today were ridiculous. Update: After 3 years of avoiding this place came back to see if things were better they definitely were not. We received our to go order and got home started eating I flipped over the bacon and it was uncooked on one side. Safe to say I won’t be eating here ever again gave way too many chances.

Empty tables and we still waited 40 minutes to get seated. The waiter took 15 minutes to take our drink order. The worst part was that after waiting a total of 1hr and 20 minutes our food was going to take 30 minutes longer after the server found out they had no more meatloaf and we were told because we asked! Why weren’t we told at the beginning that there’s only one cook and a long wait. It wasn’t busy but come on it’s a Friday night. Horrible experience overall I do not recommend coming here at all .

If I could put no stars then I definitely would. For starters the biscuits were hard as hocky pucks. NONE of our food had any seasoning at all. My husband had the hamburger steak and it tasted like a plain hamburger patty. I had the chicken and dumplings which was also bland. My salad looked like someone had cut a head of lettuce into about 6 pieces and threw it in a bowl. The photo I took is after I had already cut it up some. Needless to say, we will not be back. I remember why it's been a long time since we've been to this location now.

This in no way is regarding the service we received from our waiter. This Kingwood location has gotten progressively worse with time. Today was thy day I decided to do a review. After placing our order for the Sunday chicken dinner and a country fried steak our food arrived about 25 minutes later with no chicken. The waiter said he was told as he was picking up our food to deliver to the table. He ended up canceling a few other orders around us as well. As we were leaving we never saw a sign at the front door or any information saying they have no chicken. They kept seating and then telling tables they had no chicken only after they were seated. We could have ordered another country friend steak if my wife would have had wanted beef. I understand supply chain has its issues but Walmart HEB and Kroger all have chicken in the shelves.

GO TO IHOP if you want subpar food better this, this is my first time and it was utterly disgusting and very bland. We waited 40 minutes so I was excited due to it being crowded, wish I would've took that as a sign and went somewhere else. Our waitress was nice but everything else was trash. Grits were soupy and watery, sausages were red on the inside and well done on the outside, and the "scrambled" eggs were stiff and dry. I guess you get what you pay for

This restaurant is terrible. Nothing like the old Cracker Barrel. Too many problems with our service and meal to list. Bottom line…we will never go back. So sad what has happened to this place!

0 star for service. We came for lunch, and the place is not so busy. We ordered after 15 min in and the waitress brought a basket of biscuits 45 min later. We left without even seeing our foods.

We ate here one year ago and were disappointed that the featured *new* items on the menu were not available yet. We waited a year to return and wanted to treat our grandchildren before the school year. The place was not busy but we were kept waiting 20 minutes on a table. After ordering our food I asked for biscuits. Our food arrived but we had to wait a few minutes on our flatware and napkins. The waitress forgot more than once. The biscuits never came and at this point we were in a time crunch so I dropped it. I found the manager as we were walking out and he said he had just arrived, another server informed him that they were “out of biscuits” and were just making more. It’s 2pm on a Tuesday, how does Cracker Barrel run out of BISCUITS????!!!!! The manager agreed our server should have informed us of the situation but we were also rushed because we sat there with food, no flatware and no server in sight. We were giving this place one “last chance” and I desperately wanted it to be good but they failed. At least the store has some cute items that kept the kids entertained during our wait.

We waited an hour for our food which is just unacceptable. The French toast was tougher than leather with barely any egg used. Way too much cinnamon. Shame because I was really forward to the French toast. They ran out of the real whipped butter and instead had to use cold hard plastic ones. Finally, the eggs were cold. Terrible is every sense and won't be returning. I'll also recommend other people to skip for their benefit.

There were 3 of us in our group. Service was lacking. We were brought "cold" cornbread. Salad didn't come until after meal was received. French fries so over done that they were hollow. Waiter never made any attempt to compensate for the issues, very disappointed. Fried shrimp was way overcooked as well.

We went for breakfast! We all wanted biscuits and gravy! We were told they were out of gravy. How do you run out of gravy at 9:30 am in the morning. Took a hour to get our food from the kitchen. Bacon was raw barely cooked and the hashbrown casserole was cold. Cracker Barrel is not like it use to be. Our waiter tried to make the best out of a bad situation.It was not his fault but the kitchen staff. I came very close to walking out after only getting drinks. We had lost our appetite from waiting so long and it being so upsetting. They should have given us a discount or let us have it for free. Will not be back! You just lost a customer!!

Went for breakfast this morning around 10. We both ordered The Grandma’s Sampler. Waitress asked if we wanted any changes to the meat and I requested no bacon substitute with Sausage. The plates came with no sausage and an extra slice of bacon as they had run out of sausage. Nothing was said until the food was brought. Did the same thing to the table behind us. If you ran out please let us know when ordering.

The last two times I've been here the food was terrible. Food was cold on the inside and warm in the outside. Instant mashed potatoes we're hard and clumpy and both times took an hour to get the food for two people. Whatever changes they've made in the kitchen we're big mistakes. Won't be coming back. Big waste of time and money.

Myself and 2 coworkers arrived at 1215 and told we'd have a 15min wait, we waited the 15mins. Once taken to be seated we were brought to a section with MANY open tables?? We expressed to waitress we are on our work lunch break and then immediatly gave our food orders at the same time as drink orders. We didnt need time with menus because we looked at those during our 15min wait. 30 mins after, we are told by our waitress that unfortunatly she didnt put our food orders in when we gave them to her but she will do it now. She had already not brought our apple butter and lemons that were requested when we put in drink and food order. We of course were upset because we would not have the time needed to enjoy the meals and instead needed the meals to come out to us boxed to go. We spoke to the manager. After speaking to the manager our food order was to go as requested and free.. however, we were further displeased when the orders were incorrect. My coworker did not recieve one of her side dishes. And all of our main courses were incorrect also. At this point we didnt even address that issue. I do not recommend this establishment.

I ordered steak and shrimp with a baked potato fully loaded and a pecan French toast . My food was cold . My potato only had cheese not fully loaded and they didn't get my French toast and when I made home I didn't feel like driving back to go get my French toast. Also they didn't get steak sauce and silverware.

Mashed potatoes were hard and dry this is a sign they are old and not freshly prepared. Eggs were cold again! The roast beef is a sub prime cut that has gristle and tough. Pancakes were reheats and hard! Biscuits were hockey pucks! Employees literally everywhere but not a chef for miles.

I haven’t been to Cracker Barrel in years. I ordered the country fried steak dinner. Horrible piece of meat or possibly soy product. I will not go back. Service was okay, but food quality for the price was horrible. I don’t blame the location. I blame the company and the cuts they have made to increase profits. Having customers that will never return to your business is not the way to increase profits.

Food was cold.None of our food was even warm it was gross. Its not like a manager was around. Didn't taste good. It was like eating a TV dinner. The server was overwhelmed as other servers stood around and did nothing to help. Didn't get our bread Till halfway through our meal. I could go on and on. Won't be back.

I've been here twice. First time I left without eating. When we finally decided what we wanted, I was told that they didn't have the items we wanted. Normally, a waiter informs you when you're looking at the menu. We gave it a second chance since my husband really wanted their breakfast. I wouldn't go back. Food wasn't great. The dishes smelled and it automatically just put me off. The young waitress doesn't have that welcoming personality but there was an older woman at the register that was sweet. Overall, just wouldn't go back. There are better options in the area.

We ordered 50 plates, consisting of 5 pans of rice, chicken, apple cobbler, and 50 rolls. Picking up the order we were called advised we left rice. After serving our meals we were still short 2 pans of rice, 2 pans of cobbler and we got 0 rolls. Manager refused to fill the order after having to already make 2 trips. Refused any type of compensation whatsoever. We spent 1400.00 in 2 days and they will receive no further support from us.

Used to love this place. Slowly I noticed the food quality going down, especially noticeable with beef items, which all taste like very low quality now. Then the menu changed, started looking like some sterile corporate garbage, with key items like a sweet potato disappearing and the alcohol section doubling. On my last visit, my wife and I sat for 15 minutes waiting to be asked what we'd like to drink, while staff(who all look like starbucks workers now) stood around and chatted, so we just left and Cracker Barrel is no longer on the list of restaurants we'll go to. I don't know what kind of person guides the company now, but they shouldn't be overseeing a snowcone stand, much less a beloved American franchise. If only 0 stars was an option.

My recent visit was a total nightmare! I'm not even sure where to start. First, it took approximately 25 minutes to be seated. Not because there were no tables available, there were plenty. We were advised that there was no staff to service the tables available and they were waiting for servers to come in. Finally a young lady came and we were seated. They were out of a lot of the menu items, didn't bring our biscuits and cornbread (none ready), out of jelly, wrong orders were brought out, my 84 year old mom didn't get her order until we were all finished and waiting for the ticket. The worse experience EVER at a Cracker Barrel restaurant!

I wasted $50 bucks on food tonight. The meatloaf was thick, dry and bland. We couldn't even eat the mashed potatoes they were so dry and clumped together. The chicken tenders were fried in old grease and really dark. The pancakes were light on the top for presentation but really dark and hard under the bottom. They didn't give any silverware or syrup to go with the food. This was the first time I ever got horrible quality from this particular location. I feel that you get better service when you dine in versus to go. I will continue to stick with the Airtex location.

Restaurant started out normal was going well but during the time there we saw some things that were a bit different they said they were out of peach tea chocolate milk jams and some foods like Mac and cheese but we were fine with it until the food arrived very late came cold steak wasn’t cooked in preference and forgot some sides and for the drinks refills took and to go boxes were out and people in the restaurant were having their own complaints with the manager and at the end paying for the food took longer than expected and people were calling for the manager and leaving so it’s not recommended to go here at all it wasn’t a good experience and they were in general not doing the best.

The worst and unclean restaurant I have ever been to. They were out of food and drinks. Definitely need before hostesses. The young girls don’t look at you, on their cell phones and unbothered.

Went at 8pm, they were out of everything. No ranch, no bone in chicken, no meat loaf, no biscuits, no Mac and cheese, so many things. Took an hour and 1/2 to get our food, which was terribly done. Horrible! If you value your peace, don’t go here!

waited 20 mins to be seated, waited 30 mins to the server to take our order and 40 more mins passed and other people that got there after we did were already eating their meals while we were still waiting for ours , worst experience ever, we asked for the ticket for the drinks(cokes) we had and left, we had order chicken tenders and mac and cheese for my girls, steak and eggs for me and the chicken fried chicken for my husband, i see the other people getting their orders similar to ours and the server never checked on us or nothing but when my husband ask for the check so we can leave his excuse was sorry sir but the lady in the kitchen keep messing up y'all's order, really?? so the lady messed up on our order but not in the other people who got there after we did?? bs!! the server didn't care about us at all, very poor service!!!!

When we ordered, both my husband and I ordered our hash browns crispy on both sides. When we got our order the waiter told my husband his hash browns were coming. I asked for Cholula hot sauce, she stated that they didn’t have any. I asked to bring any kind they had, she said, they didn’t have any at all. When we started eating, my hash browns were raw, so I told her, she made a face and said, ok I get you another one. We had to eat the rest of our food without the hash browns, cause we didn’t get our hash browns until 10 minutes later. I told her, I like to eat my hash browns and eggs together, she replied, “I can’t help it.” I told her well next time don’t give people their food until it’s all cooked. She made a mad face again and left. We took a friend to breakfast, that’s the only reason we stayed. The food and service were awful!

My mother, who was undergoing chemo, asked to celebrate her birthday there. Our orders were taken and served, except for a few items. We didn’t mind the wait but realized other tables were arriving after us and being tended too faster. Our server would pass our table to repeatedly get to the costumers next to us and ignore us. We gained her attention several times and she’d politely stated she would fulfill our request (e.g., get an item we ordered for my son, refill drinks, sauces and sides needed to enjoy the food) only to not do so. Even more frustrating is that between our requests she’d pass our table to refill tables next to us, provide them extra items and chat. We ended up canceling food that was never served (for my son) and when we brought up with the manager , he indicated the server was busy and didn’t apologize or attempt to make things right.

Came here today with a friend, First, the lady went to seat us, the table was not clean, she used the napkins she gave us for the table to clean up the crumbs and left the stack on the table with the crumbs under it. Then we received dirty cups, we had to ask for to go cups with new drinks and the table next to us and dirty cups as well. The silverware was dirty. I love cracker barrel but I will not be visiting this location again.

Was not impressed. Ordered old timers and the French toast breakfast. The gravy on old timers was some kind of nasty artificial taste. The bacon looked and tasted like it had been cooked earlier and been underneath a heating lamp. Scrambled eggs just seemed off. Spouse was not impressed with her French toast breakfast. Honestly neither one of us finished our plates. I’m just not sure what all the hoopla is about going to Cracker Barrel. They totally missed the mark and certainly didn’t meet the mediocre mark when it comes to the food.

Order to go split a chicken fried steak for my 83 and 87 year-old parents. Double mashed potatoes gravy sent no gravy for the steak biscuits were cold. Food was cold. One side odor of okra had 13 pieces of okra. Worst meal I’ve ever had. I would be ashamed to serve people this food I would never go back

I called at 4pm today and asked for an item and I was told that it wasnt available! Me checking online i thought i might have probably given the wrong SKU NUMBER I called back around 6pm i was put on a 20+ min hold so the guy (Zachary) could look for the item with a different SKU NUMBER he never came to the phone I hung up and called back at 7pm and again I was put in hold for 15min I decided to come to the store and I enter he is the only GUY working NO LINE AT ALL and Zachary is hidden where the kids clothes are on his phone texting again NO LINE AND GUESS WHAT I FOUND THE ITEM I CALLED FOR. Drove all the way from the woodlands to KINGWOOD and thank GOD I found it. Definitely the worst service. His excuse was there was a loooong line but there was definitely time to text in the back so funny right!

Cracker Barrel, please stop worrying about logos and start worrying about the food. They gave us a menu with pot roast… which wasn’t actually available. Cornbread? Nope. We got biscuits instead, and while they were okay, the butter was frozen solid. Garlic steak tips: Sahara-dry and so salty we couldn’t eat them. Fried chicken: not bad, not great. Macaroni: flavorless. Green beans: fine (but hard to screw up). And the bathroom? My wife said it was the dirtiest she’s ever seen. The one bright spot? Our server was extra nice — genuinely attentive and kind. But his service didn’t match the food, which tasted like something straight from a can of dog chow. This was my third visit, and it’s only gone downhill each time. To investors: people won’t stop eating here because of politics — they’ll stop because the food is disgusting. At this rate, bankruptcy isn’t a possibility, it’s a timeline.
