It was very different, the food was good, filling and tasty. I thought it was a little pricey, but you do get a lot of food. I ate this for lunch and dinner. I had a mixture of rice, chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli with a coleslaw top. They have picnic tables or you can eat in your car, very much outside only venue. Overall, it was good, and I would eat here again.

Absolutely delicious. I got their Combo Box, and it was great. If you get fries, either eat them there or quickly, as they pack them in an enclosed box and they can get soggy by the time you make it home. They were still amazing, even moist. The green soss is delicious and spicier than I expected. 10/10 would get again.

Love Yaki!! Everything is gluten and dairy free, and their rice bowls/boxes are so good. I especially love their Nug Box because the nuggets are deliciously crispy (and did I mention gluten free??) and their rice also has a wonderful flavor - I always get Xtra Soss. They also have fantastic waffle fries that rival Chick-fil-A’s. You can order from your car and they’ll bring it out, or they have a cute little courtyard in the middle where you can eat. Great playlists too. Portions are also large - they can pack a lot into a little box! 11/10 recommend - Yaki is a family favorite!!

I can’t come to Waco without eating YAKI! They even catered my wedding and killed it. Each guest had their pick of protein delivered to their table and it was so easy! Everyone was raving over the food. I love YAKI because it’s so easy for everyone to find options there, even for kids. It’s all gluten free, and always delicious! I just ate at the new drive in for the first time and the whole vibe was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely the best Asian food and it's gluten-free! There is definitely nothing better as far as Asian food or gluten-free options here in Waco. The owner was very polite and more than willing to discuss what they do to ensure everything in the restaurant is gluten free. Really great concept that is well executed. Fast casual teriyaki. Pick your base, protein, and sauce and “voila” you have a nutritious and filling meal that is balanced and full of flavor. Perfect place to stop on our drive from Austin to DFW. A little leary of teriyaki in the middle of TX, but it was delicious, and the portions of chicken was more than enough in my combo box. Loved the presentation, and layering of ingredients. It made it easy to eat as we resumed our drive. Fast, friendly service and location, about a mile from the exit, makes it a great alternative to less healthy fast food options. Definitely recommend!

Dedicated gluten free facility! Really good and fun (an old converted Sonic) and very tasty. We split the fries, a box of chick nugs, and a box of chicken, veggies, and rice (no slaw) and we got all the sauces except the wing sauce, they were out. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend! I texted with them beforehand, and they could not have been nicer. Fun and good pricing, highly recommend. I did not even ask them about being gluten free….can you imagine?!!?! ha ha! Peace of mind!

I am so happy I am now a "Yakioan" (mix between Wacoan & Yaki). I am originally from Malibu, CA so I take good food serious. For me, it is tough to feel good after eating out sometimes. Let's just say the box filled with rice, slaw, and chicken or your choice of meat will leave you wanting MORE. (Even after being full) Wow, the service is amazing. You can order ahead from work or home. Or scan the QR code at the drive in and they will walk your food out. Recommendations: ALL This place gives "eat here vibes"

Excellent food! And it is gluten free, dairy free, nut free. The nug box is a staple. The smoked chicken salad box is my personal favorite. The smoked salmon is quite good also; I recommend with the salad and rice. Food is so fresh here and the music they play is always fabulous and puts me in a good mood.

My husband and I absolutely loved out visit here. We were in town for the weekend and needed a quick bite to eat. I have several food intolerances and am non celiac gluten sensitivitie, so finding food while out and about can be hard. This place was able to help with that as they are gluten free and very accommodating with any other food issues you may have. I had the smoked chicken box (which was rice, then smoked chicken on top of that and then a layer of slaw. My husband had the brisket box.(rice layer then brisket and pickles on top of that, then a layer of slaw) Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The customer service was spot on. The only thing we were sad about it there isn't one in the town where we live. So next time we make our way back up to waco, this place will definitely be on our list of places to eat at.

If you get lucky enough to try the brisket, please please do it!!! I usually get the smoked salmon because the brisket is always out and I was not disappointed! The guys working here are always so nice, good music. Highly overpriced ($12-$15 for a meal) for the small portion size you receive. Meals are about 5 pieces of chicken (think chick-fil-a nugget sized) and one cup of white rice. The chicken is very good but does not outweigh the cost to make this place worth a spot The lights do look very pretty at night which made me stop here but the food is average for a steep price.

The food is decent. The chicken nugs are good but overall it's pretty bland. The coleslaw is slightly sweet, I would have like some tang. I added the spicy mayo and that gave it a time bit of flavor. The cashier brought my food out for me, he was very nice. The location is super cute and has a lots of parking. While the service was prompt... Food was subpar. Little to no flavor, not what you expect teriyaki to be. I've had authentic teriyaki and this isn't even close. Food was luke warm and rice tastes like it was instant rice and the slaw.....just chopped cabbage with no flavor. Brisket was mostly fat cap and dry. The only good thing... The spicy mayo. But one cannot be a restaurant based off of spicy mayo alone. Not worth the money spent. Make your own at home....so much better.

Decided to try this place since i love teriyaki style food, it was not worth the price in my opinion.. kinda disappointed. Got the chicken bowl and ended up having to add my own sauce to it because it was just bland..

We have given this restaurant three different tries, and somehow it gets worse each time. I give them credit for the unique concept, but execution is sorely lacking. The food is overpriced for the amount and quality. The service is a mess - it's difficult (online) to impossible (over the phone) to order ahead, and ordering in person for takeout is not the simplest process. I wish we could support this distinct local business, but it's a headache just to get our dinner every time we go.

Fairly pricy and a small menu... But tasty and fairly large meals for the price. Overall pretty good Okay I've been back a few times now and for the first time I'm pretty frustrated with my order. The fries I ordered were $3, and about 6 total fries. They were also soggy. The poke box was small but tasted good. The gentleman that brought my food looked annoyed to be bringing my food. Not a great experience, though the other few times I'd been were good.

Disappointed. Ordered 1 chicken with rice AND sauce, no slaw. Got NO sauce. Also, ordered 1 nugs with rice and NO slaw, got the slaw on top anyway (and also no sauce??). Expensive for what you get - 6 or 7 tiny nuggets and a container full of rice and the slaw (which we did not want) was disgusting as expected. The only thing good was the fries. There was literally no one else there but staff, so not sure how you messed this up so badly.. Won't return.

It was gross! The nugs and the waffle fries were the only thing I enjoyed. I still can't get the fishy taste out of my mouth 🤢 their spicy mayo, and sweet chili sauce is pretty decent. Watch out for the green sauce! It's got some heat 🔥💯🥵 Nugs and waffle fries are edible.

I see what others are talking about with the fish taste or smell. I got the chicken one and I smelled the fish smell immediately. The food was bland. I put the sweet chili on it to give it some flavor and got past the fish smell. I didnt want to waste my $16 lol

I see why the place is always empty. The food was horrible. 10$ for a carton of rice and half of a boiled chicken tender. I do not recommend the food at all.

Fishiest salmon. It was gross. They gave you like a few scoops of rice and salmon for $15? Crazy. It’s also a repurposed sonic, so it just looks sad. I had high hopes but it just was a disappointment. It is rightly called YAKI because it didn’t taste yummy—it tasted yaki 😅
