Repetiremos seguro!
A very good price for the set meal with a variety of choice of starter & main courses. The set also includes one set of a bottle of wine, water & bread for each 3 persons or less (even 1 person). Starters or main courses are in great disc and must get full. Only the entrance door is not significant with Spanish sign and may wrong direction to the bar at the right-side.
Fast service and delicious food, local homemade meals, large food portions. Very good price
When you see a lot of staff at a restaurant, it usually means the food is good and cheap. The set menu was €18, which, considering the prices in the town center, is more than acceptable. The white beans were good with their chili pepper, although I would have preferred piparras (pickled green peppers). The Rioja-style potatoes were also well prepared. For the main course, we had grilled entrecote and lamb chops, which were surprisingly good for a set menu. All of this was accompanied by a local young wine that didn't disappoint. And to top it all off, some homemade custard served in a dish that was simply divine. We left completely stuffed.
We came on the recommendation of one of the waiters at the hotel where we were staying. We wanted a proper lunch before heading home, and it was a great find. It's located at the Repsol gas station. As soon as we walked in, we saw it was full of locals and workers. We had breakfast for six of us: a slice of Spanish omelet, tripe, eggs with grilled ham, and coffee. Traditional, unpretentious, and very good food. Generous portions. The Spanish omelet has onions, the tripe is a bit spicy, and both were delicious. The price was reasonable. They don't have gluten-free bread or plant-based milk, but they do have lactose-free milk. They also have sweet options for breakfast, including pastries, and they offer pre-made sandwiches.
Restaurant with a set weekend menu. A wide variety of dishes to choose from, including several starters and main courses. Very generous portions and well-prepared dishes. Attentive and friendly staff. They brought us a dish that we couldn't eat due to a food intolerance, and they didn't hesitate to remove it and offer alternatives. Highly recommended.
The best food ever thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Very good menu. Cheap and tasty and with an efficient service. Highly recommended.
We went sightseeing in the town of Laguardia. A beautiful town with charm and history, located in Álava, just 20 minutes from Logroño, with exceptional views and a remarkable wine culture. The town is riddled with holes like Swiss cheese, as many of the buildings house private wineries. Anyway, lunchtime arrived, and as we approached the restaurants, they were all similar: "Set menu and winery tour...€32." If you're just visiting once, that's fine, but if you're traveling for several days within Spain and each meal costs €32, you're better off booking full board. Finally, we went to the Las Postas restaurant, next to the gas station on the road to La Puebla de la Barca. It's a bar and restaurant with a small but sufficient parking lot. As soon as we walked in, we appreciated the air conditioning, which helped us combat the over 40-degree heat outside. Anyway, let's get down to business...the food. A set menu for €16, with a wide variety of starters and main courses, salads, pasta, stew, and casserole for starters, and both meat and fish for main courses. The meat was mostly grilled and very flavorful. To be honest, presentation isn't this restaurant's strong suit, but I don't think anyone would complain about the portion sizes, unless they were to say (as we heard) "I'm not going to be able to finish all this." For starters, we ordered spaghetti, caparrones (red beans), vegetable stew, and Rioja-style potatoes, and for main courses, pig's ears with snout, Iberian pork shoulder, ribeye steak, and hake. Finally, for dessert, we had fruit pudding and flan. As for the quantity, as I said, generous portions. The ingredients were good, but they lacked a bit of "love or care" when it came to finishing the dishes, which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. As for the service, several very experienced waitresses manage a dining room for about 30-40 people, where the tables are reused several times due to the number of workers who come looking for a quick and substantial meal. In short, a very good option for eating in this town in Álava. Two years later, I returned on a holiday, and the set menu (€35) was spectacular. My only complaint would be the desserts... they seemed very underwhelming compared to the preparation and quality of the main dishes.
Las Postas is a restaurant near Elciego that offers a set lunch menu. The dining room is spacious and the service is quick. The lunchtime menu costs €18 and includes bread, a starter, a main course, a drink, and dessert. The food is homemade and well-prepared. I liked the Rioja-style potatoes, but they only had a small slice of chorizo and a lot of potato. On the other hand, the Rioja-style cod was a very large fillet, which I also enjoyed. At €18, it's good value for money. I recommend it if you're visiting the Rioja Alavesa region.
Good caffe
Excellent except for the coffee! Coffee is from the machine and it does not have a good taste. I don't like it! The rest of the meals and buffet is excellent
Served purpose perfectly as we wanted a quick breakfast. Great omelette rolls and coffee. Popular with workers.
I went for a quick breakfast. Lots of local drivers were in the cafeteria/bar. I had a solid egg sandwich with chorizo and a coffee for 3 euros. Fast service. Cash only. There is a larger, nicer restaurant attached, but I did not go there.
Platos generosos. Servicio atento a las peticiones especiales. Precio 18 euros. Medio menú 11 euros.
The potatoes Riojana style and the pochas with chorizo were acceptable. The pochas had little meat, though. The main courses were disappointing. The grilled sirloin didn't taste like it was grilled. It was served on a cold plate, and within two minutes it was inedible because it was so cold. It had an average flavor. The entrecote was almost half wasted between fat (flavorless and tough) and beef. It tasted average, cold like the sirloin. They served it with a piquillo pepper. It wasn't even grilled. Cold, just like it came out of the can. The desserts were good. But paying more than 70 euros for these dishes wasn't worth it. The meats and the plating service were terrible. That menu wasn't worth more than 25 euros per person. We won't be returning.
