The Loft

Hi I just write and tell you how amazing and unreal the staff at the Montage and The Loft are. I have never visited The Loft until today. I was amazed at how beautiful it was. This is by far the best and most beautiful restaurant in OC! The outdoor dining area overlooking the pool and ocean is spectacular… I felt like I was in a little romantic movie 🤍🤍🤍 I was blown away by how kindly the staff treated me even though I was just by myself and not staying as a guest. I can’t wait to be back for dinner soon… Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

We went to the Loft restaurant, which is on the 4th floor of the Montage for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We got there 30 minutes early for our reservation and were seated right away at a table in the balcony with an amazing view. The service was top notch, they made sure we were comfortable and knew why we were there. The food, drinks and well made and delicious. It was the perfect place to celebrate our special day!

Always a great place to enjoy a lunch while having majestic view of Pacific ocean. Wonderful food and service. Perfect in every way.

We had brunch here today. Super amazing customer service by Estela and both Joshua. She remembered that we were there from January. Food came out fast and was yummy, perfect portions. Highly recommend salmon bagel plate and club sandwich. Definitely a great brunch destination with beautiful views.

Wow, what a fabulous restaurant located within the Montage Laguna Beach. We dined on the outdoor deck at the Loft. The views, food, and service were all amazing. We couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough. It's a great special occasion type place to visit.

The Loft is a nice restaurant at Montage in Laguna Beach, California. The ocean view is beautiful. The restaurant ambient is comfortable. The restaurant menu is a bit too simple, nothing exciting. I was going to give them 4 stars. I decided to give them an extra star for their way of handling an incidence. I had a patio table with good view to the ocean. There was a seagull nearby. He wondered around for about an hour and half. Without warning, he jumped onto my table and grabbed the ribeye steak from the plate then jumped back on the nearby roof. Everyone in the patio enjoyed this entertaining moment. The seagull proudly stood there with the steak hanging from his beak. Patrick, the waiter offered to replace the steak. Julien, the manager also stop by and apologized. They even did not charge me for the steak. That was a nice surprise. I greatly appreciated their kind gesture.

Dining with ocean view and with delicious brunch options. The service is attentive. The manager Joshua is friendly and truly takes care of the guest to provide a wonderful experience. The chef uses fresh ingredients which enhances the quality of the food. The brioche desert dessert with lemon ice cream and hazelnut is to die for. Would recommend this place for an upscale dining experience.

Location is breath taking. Weather is amazing and food is so delicious. Sounds like heaven huh! Well it's a bit pricy but take the situation into account! ;-) All I can say is to book in advance for sure and use valet parking. Otherwise, parking is a big mess. Note that there is $40 deposit needed per person when booking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is balcony with pool / ocean view. Don't miss French Toast and Shakshoka!

Sean the server Superman! He was awesome. Started with oysters with some Thai Chile sauce 🔥. Worth every burn on my chapped lips. Mmmm! Baby wedge salad with beats(crazy good) who even likes beets? Me now. They served some warm sour dough bread with salted butter . Boom! Be sure to ask them to accidentally bring shrimp cocktail. Woohoo freebie! We finished with veal bolognese. Tasty. We split it so we aren’t stuffed. We had Fruili Pinot Grigio from NE Italy. Nice and light. Not a perfect pair but it worked well. Oh, they got us in on a Friday night with no reservation. It’s good to have a hot wife.

Great views and amazing food! The best restaurant we have tried in Laguna, will defiantly be back! Great ribeye, prefect Mac and cheese, and chocolate lava cake to finish!

The food, the ambiance and the service is absolutely amazing. Came here for a business lunch and they did not disappoint. This will be my go to place when I’m in Laguna Beach. The views of the beach are breathtaking and there’s nothing like it anywhere in this area!

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Loft for our anniversary and, by the time we left, we agreed it was one of our top 3 favorite meals we've ever had. We made a reservation for a little later in the evening so we could walk around the resort and beach area for sunset and would highly recommend it as the surrounding beaches are beautiful and picturesque. After, we sat down for dinner on the patio, and enjoyed the gorgeous view overlooking the Pacific. Robert was our waiter and was an expert at his craft. He was extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable and couldn't have made our experience better. The food was stellar - we had the stone fruit salad, coffee crusted NY Strip and roasted carrots. They also brought us a chocolate surprise for our anniversary and we still ended up ordering another dessert because of how good everything was. We ended with the mille-feuille, which was exceptional. We both left the meal with big smiles on our faces and have been talking about it every day since. The Loft is a true accomplishment in a culinary and service experience. Thank you, Montage and Robert, for an unforgettable evening!

We had an amazing breakfast experience at Loft. Me and my friend ordered omelets, egg Benedict and latte.The food was delicious and the view breathtaking! Our server was professional and at the sametime hospitable.

Wonderful evening to start our Vacation! We came right at the start of Dinner.. no reservation, no wait & the hosts were able to accommodate at the beautiful tables along the ledge! Food was excellent, service was exceptional especially Emerson (he was extremely kind). View is breathtaking.. I look forward to dining again. I recommend all dishes pictured.

The loft is easily one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. On my last trip warmly greeted and seated overlooking the pool and the ocean, the Sommelier Gary helped me and my date pick out a bottle of a fantastic Riesling and spoke with us a while about chartreuse varieties. The waiter made some recommendations including an off menu parmesan risotto which ended up ordering with a lobster tail. The foot was exceptional and the lobster Tail served over the parmesan Risotto currently lives rent free in my mind. Great experience and I found it to be great value for the service, setting and food quality they provide.

What great "treatment" by the manager on duty this morning at the Loft! Was disappointed by the opening of the new Patisserie postponed until tomorrow. Well, was treated to a chocolate croissant, and an asparagus, mushroom croissant as well as tea due to this inconvenience. Outstanding PR. Took my breakfast outside and sat by the pool with, of course, spectacular views. The resort was in pristine condition and all the staff I came in contact with were as well. Will definitely return! Pricey, of course, splurge, your'e worth it!!

To start Kathleen as a host was delightful, and welcoming, next, we had Chad as our server and he made you feel like anything you wanted he would make it happen. The service was over the top. The rigatoni was delicious.

During our first visit for lunch, we had fresh juices, the grain bowl, and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the terrace was not an option due to ongoing construction as it was very loud, which definitely took away from the experience. We were really hoping to enjoy the outdoor seating and the views. For my second visit, I came alone for dinner. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, they made me wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which felt a bit unnecessary. But once I was seated, the rest of the experience was enjoyable. I ordered the scallops — there were only three on the plate, but they were actually quite satisfying and tasted great. Definitely more on the light and elegant side. Overall, I do like this place and would come back — especially once the construction is finished. Sitting on the terrace seems like a big part of the full experience, and I’d love to enjoy it properly next time.

A very good experience. The food was pretty tasty, but not to the point of being as good as people let it on to be. The service was 5 stars and the atmosphere was very nice. This restaurant is located in the Montage Laguna hotel. It's on a very nice piece of property with an excellent view. However, this place does get crowded, so be aware of that. Overall - a very nice experience. I'd also make reservations well in advance for this place.

Coffee crusted steak - I really enjoyed the coffee crust, it added this crunchy, slight bitterness that was addictive, and the sweet sauce was not too sweet thankfully. I was pretty disappointed with the cut of steak though. It most certainly was not Prime. It was very lean, not juicy at all, no marbling. It felt very deceiving for $70+. The coffee crust carried the entree. Everything else was pretty meh especially for the price. The iceberg salad was bland and a bit sad although quite fresh. The whipped potatoes seemed a bit under seasoned, would've enjoyed a bit more salt. The squash was quite hard and had this Indian type spice that was not for me. Cocktails seemed uninspired for $26. Service was quite good, but when you pay prices these high you hope to be wowed by at least by one dish.

It is not a holiday, and the restaurant is not at capacity. There are plenty of tables for new reservations. At first, the receptionist said no worries to canceling. When I asked to confirm I wouldn't be charged, she checked and said, "oh no, you will be." $40 per guest (three of us), no exceptions unless "someone is in the hospital." Montage is not hurting for money or business. I was respectful and am a frequent guest with no history of no-showing. I'm very disheartened that they treat their patrons this way.
