Golden Dragon Chinese Food

I had to write a solid review for this restaurant because they deserve a much higher rating. I grew up on NYC takeout, and this place is the closest thing to Mott. St./Canal st. . I ordered via doordash, however, the restaurant didn't confirm the order so I called and a friendly voice, Billy, assured me that my order was received and will be prepared. When we got our food, I was salivating because it smelled so good, opened up the boxes and everything looked perfect, and if it didn't look perfect, it sure tasted perfect. This restaurant is very consistent, but tonight, the my father's day dinner was extra special because Golden Dragon went above and beyond my dinner expectations.

We really thought the food was was good. The menu is more like a traditional Chinese restaurant. You don't order individual plates where you pick 2 or 3 entrees along with fried rice like at Panda. It's like family dining, each selection ordered is enough to feed several people. It is not convenient for one person if you want more than one entre unless you don't mind a lot of leftovers. The food is yummy so leftovers are a good thing. Don't pass this one up, its Definitely worth a try.👍

Golden Dragon is always my go-to spot for Chinese food! The food is consistently fresh, and the flavors are spot-on. My favorite is their beef Mapo Tofu—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The service is always friendly and fast. It’s a cozy and clean environment, making it a great place for both family dinners and quick takeout. Highly recommend!

I really enjoy the food here and often get takeout, but the prices have become much higher. Just six months ago, I ordered the same dishes for $6 less. It's now June 2024, and I'm quite disappointed about the price hike. This will probably be my last visit since I can find similar dishes elsewhere for a better price. It's a shame, but I have to consider my budget.

Food Preparation : I like the cook's cooking speed, whatever you ask for on the menu... is done in 3 to 6 minutes for lunch or dinner and the food is cooked/stir-fried to perfection. Very delicious, healthy food. Service : When you walk in, the owner/hostess is very polite and courteous and addresses what you'd like right away. Atmosphere : Decent, there are pictures of delicious entries depicted on the walls, a TV with HD above the entrance. Plenty of seating and a portable fridge for on-the-go drinks and a soft drink dispenser with lids, straws, plasticware and napkins easily accessible.

We ordered takeout here for dinner for 2. The online ordering system was easy and the order was ready quickly on a weeknight. We had the shrimp fried rice, egg flower soup, and Szechuan vegetables with white rice. All of the food was excellent and the portions were generous! The gentleman who rang me up and gave me my order was friendly and pleasant!

Great food, my all time favorite is pork fried rice. It's a big meal when enjoyed all by its self! Also love the Garlic brocolli. Large portions are standard, pleasant and quick service, order by phone and 10-15 minutes later, it's ready to pick up. Count on $10.00 per item, the quality far surpasses the price, which is fair. I've been eating here for 20+ years, no reason to stop.

I like the egg flower soup when I have a cold. It makes feel better. I love egg flower soup and it's hard to find. Tonight I got orange chicken. The good: they use bite-sized chunks of white meat chicken instead of that weird, flat, processed chicken some places use. The bad: it was SUPER sweet and syrupy. I'll try something savory next time. It fills the empty spot but it's not amazing. EDIT: I've come to like this little place. The lady at the counter is friendly. She even brought my meal to the car one night during the pandemic. Their lunch specials are filling. They're usually enough for lunch and dinner. I like this place better than other Chinese fast food joints because you can get things like chow mein and chow fun and mu shu. They even offer a couple of healthy options.

This place had gone downhill for a while with changes in management and chefs. I tried it again based on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. The hot and sour soup was the best I've had there and the Szechuan beef was excellent. I'd like to see more variety in the menu, but for the basic dishes it was very tasty.

Ok…think about the amount of food you get for a 2 item combo at Panda Express for roughly $9. You get about the same amount here for a highway robbery of $15. Was the food good? Meh. Not really. NOTE: I’m incredibly easy when it comes to food. Anyway - It’s ok food for a ridiculous amount of money. Go to a Panda for cheaper or find a take out place somewhere else. This place leaves A LOT to be desired.

Small portions for expensive prices. Food was cold, Carrie doesn't understand a word i said over the phone. The beef chow fun was wet with oil. Greasy and got a stomach ache afterwards. Steam rice that I had to pay extra was not even cooked, came out crunchy and raw. It's like if you can't even make a simple steam rice, something is definitely wrong. The owners are nice but should not be opening a Chinese restaurant with food like this!
