Chart House - Lake Charles

Came for the oysters and they did not disappoint. French dip was amazing too. Love the view. All around wonderful experience. Definitely recommend. They take reservations but accommodated us walking in.

Went for Mother’s Day this year and was absolutely thrilled on the whole experience. Wonderful staff, great ambience and quality dishes that are worth every penny. While sitting at our table I noticed the manager Scotty making his rounds and checking on every table to ensure their experience was on point. From the bartender to the hostess, everyone was extremely nice and conversational. I had the prime rib with hash and eggs and the steak was tender and flavorful as Ruth Chris’. My wife and I shared the mimosa sampler flute and it was definitely worth the $20 for 4 full size mimosas and quite fun to try different variations. Looking forward to going back for dinner when we have some friends in town. For an excellent meal, great views and superb service make sure to give the Chart House a second look before making your plans. You will not be disappointed !!!

Excellent service and food! We had red fish and the shrimp trio and both were terrific. If you like Grotto's chopped salad, you will like the one here. We started with shrimp cocktail and they make a very nice show of the presentation. The cocktail sauce was fresh and flavorful. We wrapped it up with a chocolate lava cake and I will say it was the crowning glory to a great meal. It was done right....not like some places that make a chocolate cake boat and fill it with fudge sauce, trying to pass it off as lava cake. This was tasty and they add some crushed toffee on top which was a nice surprise!

Fantastic experience,wonderful atmosphere, and top tier service. Food was incredible and Chart House was very accommodating for our wedding anniversary. We were seated immediately with reservations on a Friday night. Definitely will recommend and will be back for another rememberable experience.

As a Landry's Select member I get $25 on my birthday month to use at any of their establishments. Since I was in Florida for my birthday I decided to make a stop at the Golden Nugget to include it in my birthday celebration. Although it is a casino and I don't gamble, I knew they had a wonderfull water park, fine restaurants, and bars to hang out at. It is a beautiful resort, everything was sanitary and the grounds well-maintained. My room was luxurious and had a deep tub that looked so inviting that I decided to take a bath, it had a separate shower. I celebrated at the Chart House restaurant for a fine dining experience, on the 2nd day I ate at Salt Grass for a more casual dinner. I enjoyed cocktails at the bar by the pool and when that closed I went to the Ice Bar. I highly recommend this resort, even if you don't gamble. There's plenty to do as a family

Hidden in plain sight gem. If you visit the casino, get dressed up and head of here for a fancy meal for a great price. I'm giving it a 5 JUST for their $60 meal. You get soup OR salad, a 10 ounce prime rib or 2 other protein dinners and a lava cake. This place is what I call fancy smancy kind of place. It's romantic and fun. It had a buzz... I'm telling you, you don't have to get dressed to the 9s for this place but you Totally can. Did I mention you can get a 3 course meal for $60? Hang on there is more, they don't mention it but the meal comes with a small bit of mashed potatoes! So good yall. Be romantic and have some fun. However make a reservation, trust me. It's at the golf course and you could technically walk from the Golden Nugget, just go through the back. If you are ar Leburge, drive. It's in the same spot at the pro shop at the golf course. I didnt take great pics because I was enjoying myself so ooooo much. Sorry. The staff gives 5 star service as well. Enjoy and think of me after you go.

Great surf and turf. I had the filet mignon with 1/2lb of Alaskan King Crab, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and creamed spinach. My meal was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice, and the restaurant is classy. Edit. 2nd 5 star trip. This time I orderded the Sea Bass and it was amazing. The sea bass was topped with crab, shrimp and served over a bed of vegetable couscous. My date had the smoked prime rib meal, which came with a salad and mini chocolate lave cake. Very good meal with a nice view over the river and golf course. Add the fire and restaurant ambiance and this place equals a great dinner experience. Many 5 star trips.

Dining at the Chart House was a really pleasant experience starting with excellent service from Austin, our server. We ate a delectable wedge salad followed by flavorful prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes. Paired with a Daou cabernet in a cozy ambience, our meal was exquisite.

Came for the happy hour which is very popular. You need to get there before the doors open because a line will start to form. The happy hour is in the bar area only. If you choose to sit at a high top table be prepared to share with others as these are considered "communal" during happy hour. The food and drinks were amazing and at great prices! Really enjoyed our time!

Excellent service and very nice atmosphere. The food was exceptional and everything came out hot as expected. The sea bass and the salmon plates are some of the best we have had in any restaurant. Love the views.

Met the Chef! So, for those who love the taste of food, Chart House get an A+. The seasoning was balanced...all flavors came through. Kendall did a fabulous job as hostess. If you want a beautiful experience in excellent culinary skills and service, it is here. Kimchi Calamari: a light touch of heat to fried Calamari. New Orleans Style Oysters. Not buried in butter...great flavors

This casual dining restaurant has something for everyone! We sat out on the shaded patio and felt like we were having a private dining experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. From the moment we walked in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink order taken, was maybe 5 minutes. Wednesday and Thursday from 4-7 is Happy Hour with a limited food and drink menu. You must however sit in the bar area or outside on the patio. We found that the menu had a variety of items that satisfied everyone in our group. Our meal was served hot and had an excellent taste. The quality of food and drinks, along with a great value and service for a casual dining experience, makes this a must to try again.

This spot is a must. The manage went above and beyond to help our large party. We originally had a reservation for 18 but last minute it turned to 24. The manager didn’t bat an eye at how he could help accommodate the rest of our party. We had set menu due to our large party size and it worked perfectly for us. The steaks and redfish were both amazing quality. Drinks were coming out fast despite how busy they were. Great view in the back near water. If staying at the golden nugget, walk out the back of the pool area to get here. If staying at the hotel next to this one, one may want to drive but if you don’t mind a walk, the boardwalk is perfect to get you there.

We made reservations here not realizing it wasn't connected to the casino itself. That being said, this is a most definite worthy destination. Our server Kendall was excellent. He was attentive to.our request and questions. He was a pleasure throughout our dining experience. We ordered the Escargot as an appetizer. I dont believe I have evered had them served on a mushroom, and I couldn't be happier about that. This was an excellent bite and the flavors paired well together. Highly suggested. My wife ordered the shrimp trio which comes with a cup of bisque and a dessert. She chose cheesecake. The bisque was phenomenal. You didn't have to search for the crabmeat. Her shrimp dish was very good as well. You got to sample 3 different ways of cooked shrimp with 3 different dips. The cheesecake 😋 wow. What a great bite! For my meal I ordered the braised beef short ribs. This might be one of the best bites I've ever had. Wow. This was excellent served with mashed potatoes and carrots. Highly highly recomend.

The lamb was amazing. Food was great! The chef was cool as hell! Pave potatoes for life!

Didn't realize we were going to be lucky that Vic and Anthony's was booked! Chart House was fantastic from Natasha's outstanding service to the incredible Prime Rib and wine selections. GM Michal Stanak was very hospitable and grateful for our business. This is our dining spot on our next trip to Golden Nugget!

One of our favorite places to get a prime rib and have a few drinks. Staff is always nice. Great atmosphere.

Service was very good, wine selection was excellent, entrees were all very good, and the crab cakes were a unique must have! A little pricey, as are most restaurants at the Golden Nugget, but doubt that's much of an issue for most coming to a casino.

Had a wonderful meal. Food and service were top notch. The new General Manager Rob came over made sure things were perfect. Cassy was amazing. Great experience.

Great cocktails and appetizers for happy hour from 4 - 7 PM with a stunning view of the sunset behind the I-210 bridge. Perfect spot to meet up with friends for drinks outside on the patio when the weather is good or alternatively inside in the bar area.

Service was kinda slow for my liking but not neglectful. Good food. Good prices. Nice staff. Very clean and upscale, but Also open to casual dining. Loved it.

Five-Star eatery- in the context of our small community. Excellent cuts of beef for the choosing. Cooked to perfection. Ambiance commensurate w/"steakbuds’ “ objective notation: the steakbuds, as certain brain receptors, bind rather seamlessly- producing an ample cascade of Dopamine... the pleasure neurotransmitter.

We had such a wonderful experience here with Cassy! She tended to our every need and was super friendly. Definitely enjoyed it.

The food here is excellent, the location is great, and the staff provides outstanding service. The drink options are also significantly better compared to the other restaurants on the property.

Outstanding service and dining experience with amazing cuisine. Never a disappointment! The wait staff is phenomenal... The executive chef came out after dinner to greet guests as well which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend the crab, artichoke & spinach dip or the ahi tuna for an app. I usually go for whatever special they offer for the evening but if you are looking at the menus definitely try the mahi fish here or the pork... Both are amazing. I've also tried brick chicken once just to try it if you're into chicken. It's good as well.

Great Happy Hour and beautiful view of the golf course. Ricki was our server/bartender for Happy Hour and she was very nice! We liked it so much we came back for lunch the next day on our way out. Matti was our server then and she was also very friendly. This is a good place to go for a more upscale and quiet meal or drink apart from the other resort restaurants.

I’ve been here twice in a month. He fillet is always amazing. Cooked to perfection. I didn’t care for the asparagus. The tuna appetizer is very good with the slaw underneath it, and the crabcakes are very good as well. The redfish and Seabass are amazing. The first time I went, my mixed drinks were really good the second time I went they had a different bartender, and, they were not mix very well. Overall though very good food and beautiful scenery to look at while dining.

The atmosphere was awesome, nice view, and a great place to watch an amazing sunset. Their happy hour was great as well! Be aware when ordering food off the happy hour food list: you pay 75% of the normal price but get 1/2 of the food, so I recommend you stick to the regular menu. Definately will be a regular though!

We LOVE going to the Chart House at Golden Nugget Lake Charles! Our Brunch Club has enjoyed brunch on Sunday there and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it! The service is always timely and accurate. I have also been there for a group dinner that started with excellent drinks while overlooking the golf course and enjoying our cocktails watching the sun set. Such a great addition to the Golden Nugget and so easy to get to with their own valet service! Definitely recommend for any occasion that you have coming up!

This place was absolutely AMAZING! Everything was so refreshing. We enjoyed it so much that we went on Saturday night for dinner as well as Sunday morning for Brunch. The waiter was very kind, he made sure that we were well taken care of. I would highly recommend this restaurant, if you are looking for a nice, upscale and romantic vibe... THIS IS IT! :) I will most definitely be back again!

We dined here my birthday weekend and it did not disappoint! The brick chicken I ordered was hands down the best chicken dish I've ever had. I would drive from Houston just to eat it again. My husband frequented the Chart House in Connecticut (many years ago) and said the prime rib was just as good as he had remembered. We also ate at the Clam Jumper during our stay at the GN and would recommend it as well. I was impressed by both meals. The fish tacos there were great!

David the bartender is super awesome! He is charismatic and attentive! He and along with the rest of the staff makes our brunch experience very wonderful and the food is just.. chefs kiss! Best place for brunch in LC

We came for dinner and sat out on the patio. Good ambiance and nice view of the course . Service was good and our sever was friendly and overall excellent. Food was fantastic but it always is. Been here a few times and its always great.

This was a very nice upscale restaurant with great service. The prime rib and mashed potatoes were amazing! They didn’t rush us after we finished and continued to talk shop. Whole staff were friendly and polite.

Celebrated my engagement with a group of 18 family members this past week. Everyone was so pleased with the service and the food. It was absolutely amazing. We sat inside of the private room where David and Brooke both took great care of us. Thank you again!

Great food and service. We loved the appetizers. The cocktails were ok. Mini crab cakes were delicious. Fried Shrimp was dry to my taste! Redfish was good. Tip - even though there is no kid's menu, they will make a kid’s burger with the same wagyu beef patty if asked.

A secret gem in Lake Charles, a part of Golden Nugget Casino Resort. No waiting for a table, or reservation needed. Sits behind the main resort on the water. Total golf theme with a private room for larger parties. From start to finish the ambience, service, menu selection, meal were all great! Enjoyed a great, seated tuna taco's, wedge salad and medium rare prime rib. All very, very good.

Friendly & attentive service. Food was good. But it was a little odd when my friend reported later that his glass of red wine had been chilled.

I give it a 4.75. I can't give it 5 stars cause the don't have bread pudding.

Visited for my wife's birthday. Reception was great. Good atmosphere. James was our server, he was awesome. The mini crab cake was great and our entrée was awesome and well presented.

We went for a date night and had never tried this restaurant before. The atmosphere was very nice and sophisticated. The wine and drink menu was very extensive with many options. The dinner menu was nice, but you could not customize or swap out sides if you didn't want something per the chef. Some of the entrees were a little on the small side and bland for the price.

Nice place overall. Went there during lunch. The portion for lunch was perfect. The food was amazing. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. I was a little disappointed in the drink I ordered from the bar. It was not dressed properly. The service was good but we sat for awhile at our table before being greeted. Other than that, great place to eat.

Few minutes late for my reservation which I admit was poor planning on my part. I didn't feel too terrible though, as it was easy to see they weren't very busy. However, the hostess rudely informed us that normally they don't hold late reservations and she would have to check if we could be seated at all. A couple minutes pass as she's fumbling around exhaling deeply as it's apparently such an inconvenience, while I'm staring at a nearly empty seating area. Food was wonderful. Prime rib was some of the best I've had. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. A great experience other than the hostess who must've been having a terrible day.

Very disappointed in the food, service, & staff at the Chart House. There was no one at the hostess desk when we arrived after playing golf, so we seated ourselves. After doing so, the hostess appeared and scolded us for sitting down with out her. She was very rude. Our waitress wasn’t much better. She wasn’t friendly and brought two of my friends luke warm lobster bisque. They did ask her to heat it up for them. Not only did our waitress not check on us regularly, she wasn’t pleasant when she did show up. My friend and I are both Landry Club Members. I’ve never experienced such poor service at any other location I’ve been to. This location needs a lesson in customer service!

Our server wasn't too friendly, but she did warm up at the end. We waited over an hour after ordering for brunch which was just a burger and eggs benedict. There were pastries on the table when we got there and I'm told those were really good. The rest of the food was not good and very overpriced. The eggs benedict had broken and was a watery & oily mess. I wouldn't expect to be served that even at a Denny's. The coffee was $4 and we didn't even get a refill. I'm willing to pay for good food, but what we paid for did not equate to what we got. :(

Food wasn't great as expected.We got the Charter course meal.The combo shrimp n salmon was ok.But the rice seems kinda mushy. The chopped salad had a coleslaw consistency AND appeared soupy. It's probably better if it was left alone and prepared simply.My husband got Primed rib steak.The texture was a bit gritty like and has that meat loaf look that was probably heated up in the microwave.Perhaps revising the way it was cooked probably better.

Service was good food was not. We got dozen of char grilled oysters they where so gritty was like eating sand had no flavor. Prime rib was bland and came out cold. Wife said her salmon was good . For the money they charge there food should be amazing .

Atmosphere and service was great, but for the prices your pay you expect great food. The salmon I had was a little Bland and taste old, the special my dad had the red fish was overcooked, and I think the lava cake was supposed to be hot but all four of them we had were ice cold. For a place that charges 40 to 60 dollars per meal the food should be on point

It was ok. I’ve had better for the same price. The food was good but nothing to get excited about for the price. It’s like Texas Roadhouse food with a bougee price tag because it’s at the casino? I Was disappointed as this was our 20th anniversary dinner and I was hoping by the way it was hyped up and the price that it would be amazing.

Great service, beautiful view. I didn't think it was possible to fully cook the yolk on a sunny side up egg, but they managed to pull it off.

A very nice facility. Service was okay (When the server was asked if amberjack was a white fish, the answer was, “It’s just fish”). The food was so-so. The value was terrible. I get that it’s co-located with a casino, and that’s what we get, but still. I expect so-so food for a steep price at an airport, but not at a restaurant chain that’s been around for decades. The Manhattans we ordered were okay. The 2nd one I got was bitter. The chopped salads two of us got with our meal were fairly meh. The lettuce was too finely chopped and partly brown (i.e., old). The French Quarter oysters were good; a little watery for cooked oysters, but good. The kimchi calamari was good, but not so kimchi-y, and there was almost as much loose fried batter as actual squid. Two of us did the “Chart Your Course” option ($49). I got the “bronzed” salmon, whatever that is. It came with two grilled shrimp. The salmon was done nicely, as were the shrimp. The chive mashed potatoes had an odd consistency, like the potato was mixed with something else. Almost turnipy. My girlfriend got the shrimp trio. The mash was less than room temperature, and the shrimp were unremarkable. Neither plate was a $49 plate in my book. My nephew got a medium 9oz filet mignon with about four tablespoons of the mystery mash ($45). The steak was cooked on the rare side of medium-rare. He reported it was decent. $275 (not including the $55 tip) for three people is not commensurate with the quality or quantity of the food served.

The food was good. The atmosphere was cool. But our reservation was for 8:45pm and we didn’t have our food until 9:53pm. Service seemed really slow and impersonal.

Booked this on Open Table but Host cancelled our reservation while I was checking in ten minutes early. He said they had no record of our invitation but didn't count on ok my quick access to their two weeks of confirmation emails. No points for t me

After reading the reviews, I had strong expectations for this restaurant. The restaurant has a decent selection of wines. The service was good as well. My redfish was decent - good flavor but slightly overcooked. My wife’s chargrilled oysters were extremely chewy and were inedible. The shrimp stack appetizer had an impressive presentation, but did not deliver on flavor.

⭐ 1 Star - Ruined My Birthday Dinner Came here to celebrate my birthday and left completely disappointed. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out dry and completely well-done. I sent it back, and the second steak was nearly raw. When I politely raised the issue, the manager was rude and dismissive. For a special occasion, the food and service were beyond unacceptable. They completely ruined what should have been a nice evening.

Food was not good and waitress didn’t even ask about food when I obviously didn’t eat it and didn’t want a to go box! Never eating here again! Ordered braised beef short ribs and tasted like cheap pot roast. Very disappointing.

I am so sorry to say, don't eat here, way overly priced and the food and service was horrible. It took 2 hours to get seated and I had a reservation too. To be a high class restaurant with over priced garbage, it was very small and the atmosphere was very inappropriate.

I made reservations for my husband's birthday last night; it took a bit to get seated and since it was a very special birthday celebration, we chose to overlook that detail. When it was time to place our order, we were never informed that the table next to us (easily a party of 20+) had just placed their order and that our order would be delayed (a heads up would have been nice). We ordered a few appetizers and bread and then WE WAITED....over 45 minutes for our food. We were never checked on during that entire time. When we finally got our food, it was late and we were starving. The final.straw, the birthday guest was not even offered a dessert for his birthday even after the sub par service we experienced Come on Chart House, you could definitely do better. What a disappointment! We now know that the Chart House is a definite no for celebrating special occasions.

Service was really bad, and the crab claw dish was kind of a joke. It was a $33 dish that looked like they took beautiful crab claws and dumped a H‑E‑B premix Cesar salad with it and heated it all up; it was so gross. Our waiter was very tacky and the staff kind of forgot our reservation even though there weren’t a lot of people there and we had been sitting at the bar waiting for 45 minutes. I finally had to go back to the hostess stand and ask if they forgot and they magically were ready for us. All in all, would never go back and would choose Mc Donald over going back here.

Would not recommend. Arrived only to learn that our reservation was not on the books. No restaurant is perfect and every establishment can have an off night, but our experience was exceptionally disappointing. From start to finish, it was a nightmare. We had incorrect entrees served, when addressing the issue with our sever, the response was “well I wrote the wrong thing down, sorry”. This server could care less. The table was cleared before we finished eating, and the manager argues that our food was left unattended whilst 8 people were still seated. Took 2 hours to get our bill correct. The whole experience was laughable. DO NOT recommend for groups larger than 2 people, you are rolling the dice with your time and money here.

Extremely slow Service. An all four of our meals were so salty we could not eat it. We like salt and not allergic to it. But all of our food felt like the chief tripped and dropped the whole. salt shaker in the food. Our wives didn’t even want it Re done. The manager re did our 2 dinners. But also took a long time. No COMP or even a drink and we had to wait an abnormally long time. Can not recommend.

For the past 15 years we have been taking our adult children and their spouses to a private dining room in a Resturant in Beaumont because we didn't know of any Resturant in Lake Charles that had a private dining room until we heard of the Chart House. So 4 weeks before our scheduled dinner I called and made a reservation for the private dining room at the Chart House. I specifically asked if there was a fee for reserving it and was told no. I asked if there would be a written confirmation of my reservation and was told "no do t worry I've got it down". But I decided to call a check the morning of our reservation if I could come a little early to put presents at the table and that's when I was told we didn't have the private dining room. They had given that reservation to another party who had paid the fee. I couldn't believe it! But all I got was "I'm sorry" and "our sales team handles parties of 10 or more (we only had 8)". No explanation of why they didn't call me first to ask if I would pay a fee (i would have)or at the very least let me know they were canceling my reservation so I would have had time to make one again at our Beaumont resturant. Because it was only hours before our reservation we went on to the Chart House where they seated us "by the fireplace". There was no offer of any compensation ( a discount, a free appetizer for goodness sake...nothing!). When we arrived no personal apology from the manager that I had spoken to. The whole issue felt like they had a take it or leave it attitude when they mess up. Very disappointing. We will leave it from now on!

We made a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner over 10 days ago. We showed up today and were seated for our 6:30 reservation only to be told by the hostess "we are out of our Thanksgiving menu" Talk about a bummer, we drove close to an hour. Our first time to not have a family meal at home. No explanation was provided. We were offered nothing, except just "you are welcome to order off the regular menu" , so we moved to Vic and Anthony's which was an amazing experience. Bu this was very disappointing as our 85 year old mother was just wanting a traditional Thanksgiving meal. I felt bad for our server Isaiah. He had a great attitude, but no one was able to offer any explanation on why they ran out of food. Whats the point of making a reservation?

We sat outside on a Friday around 5pm. Restaurant was not busy. Took about 10-15 min to get greeted. Someone sat after us and got greeted before us. Unfortunate view is great though

The place blows harder than your wife. food was subpar. They have a whole 25 people in here and took us an hour and a half for food and counting. The server was nice that’s all I got.
