I had a lovely meal here with my two daughters (age 4 and 1) kids eat free meal choices were really good. Service was great, will definitely come again
We held our company Christmas meal at the Corner House last Friday evening. Massive well done to all the Corner House staff for delivering an excellent evening with great food and brilliant service!
Very attentive staff and the food was great. I went as part of a group of 7 on a Saturday night. Very lively with music playing in the background so if you’re thinking of a quiet romantic setting this isn’t the time and place. However as part of a night out, particularly in a larger group it’s perfect.
Ate here with family members, 16 in total and everyone had said the food was excellent, as it was New Years Eve the place had a great atmosphere with the Sphere bar next door rocking. Food was great and as it was happy hour the price of the food was cheaper. Service was great and the lady that served us, sorry I didn’t get your name, provided great service too.
We got married yesterday and as there were only 19 of us we booked a table at the Cornerhouse, telling them what it was for. Well, I'm so glad we did! The food was exceptional and the wonderful staff couldn't do enough for us. They really made our day so special and we can't thank them enough! They checked in on us so many times, gave us a huge free cocktail and a bag of goodies to take home too. They were genuinely so lovely and accommodating! Thank you so much Cornerhouse, we will definitely be back very soon!
Went for a date with my partner on a Saturday evening. We booked the Cornerhouse because we thought it looked really good and we were not disappointed. The food was so tasty, especially the carbonara, and at such a reasonable price! The standout, however, was the impeccable service from our waitress, Jasmine. Will definitely be back!
Called in with friends and had the tipsy tapas. Oh my! We all agreed that they were the tastiest tapas we had ever had. Portion sizes were huge. Staff went over and beyond looking after us and we left happy and replete. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Will definitely call in again when in Lancaster.
Had a lovely evening with my Son and small circle of friends for my birthday. May I say the young staff were very helpful. Everyone was cheery and friendly. Thank you to the gentleman who parked up my mobility scooter somewhere safer outside the restaurant. We will be back again soon. Well Done folks xxx
Went for lunch today 3 of us! Seated straight away! Came to us for drinks order then 5 mins later our food order! Manager & staff brilliant! Food was 10/10 came nicely presented garnished & & fresh!. They cater for Me Gluten & dairy free no problem! Every where clean eating area toilets etc! Real cosy friendly environment! 3 happy customers definitely be going again!.💯😋👍
We came in for a drink to see where we wanted to have our Christmas lunch as a team. The staff were helpful and welcoming. They couldn't do enough and there was 8 of us. Big thanks to Sarah and Abbie too.
Gorgeous dining experience. No need to elaborate more , nice ambience, staffs are very nice.
Had lunch here today and the food was delicious, we had the garlic mushrooms to start and then cheese and onion pie with mash and vegetables,we will definitely be eating here again, plus the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly.
This place is faultless, the staff are brilliant nothing too much trouble. The food is absolutely gorgeous. We ate off the Sunday lunch menu and had 3 course's. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely night at the corner house with my partner service was so quick food and drinks where outstanding staff were so lovely they had a lady singing which was nice I’d recommend it!! We got the bolognaise and cabanara 🍝
What a great little find, great atmosphere and he staff, SArah in particular were absolutely amazing. Thanks team
It's been a while since we have been to this establishment. In fact it's been beautifully refitted since our last visit. The service I found exemplary. Special mention to Karolina, who was very friendly, smiley and knowledgeable. One of our party was gluten free and she was delighted to have a lovely pizza and a bottle of beer - both gluten free. The atmosphere was great- even though the dining area was not full, it was still buzzing. The only small gripe I have is the toilets the upstairs toilets have been closed. The toilets are just at the back of the restaurant. I gather from the men within our party that there toilets are not really adequate for the size of the building. That said we will definitely go again.
Although the standard of food can vary, depending on the chef in that day, it is always excellent. The service is fantastic, most staff are very genuine and extremely friendly, although I find the short manager with dark hair can belittle his staff unnecessarily in front of customers at times and doesn’t share the same aura of genuine care for the customer
Excellent ambience and quality food. Staff are friendly and timely.
Great place for a catch up with friends! Happy Hour lunch, what is not to like!
Perfect in every way, the ribs for starter were the best as was the steak and beef stroganoff, cannot fault it, would definitely return when in the area
We had a nice meal although we were seated too close to the bar and people were stood inches from us ordering drinks. The music was a little noisy for a Sunday lunch vibe, a more chilled atmosphere would have been preferred but I guess each to their own.
Visited here to celebrate a birthday and we all had the bottomless brunch, the eggs royale I chose were absolutely gorgeous and everyone else enjoyed their full English breakfast. We had drinks orders on arrival and as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, I opted for an iced coffee. The bottomless brunch consisted of a warm croissant and then the brunch meal that we pick from the menu, along with unlimited drinks for two hours. The price point for non alcoholic brunch is £20 and although the meal was gorgeous it would have been cheaper for me to just purchase the meal and one or two non alcoholic drinks. The iced latte was nice and I tried the other two mocktails which both came presented in a nice glass but seemed to be a flavoured fizzy drink with some fruit and ice, they were both the same colour (clear) and although they were nice it didn’t feel like a true mocktail. If they offered mocktail versions of one or two of the cocktails they offer it would have enriched my experience more. Overall though the food was gorgeous and the staff were incredible absolutely fantastic service and can tell how hard they work, was a great atmosphere and lovely day I’d have just liked a little more value for money with the non alcoholic version of bottomless brunch :)
Went to corner house on Friday expected it to be busier for Friday night but was very calm . Was nerves going for the first time since all the reviews but Food was amazing had no problems . We had a waiter called Chloe think she said her name was and she was brilliant all of them we’re we had my daughter there and she wasn’t quite at all but they didn’t complain and interacted with her which was amazing . Overall experience was amazing would highly recommend
Lots of menu choices and good value for money. My beef dinner was lovely. Mum said her chicken was over cooked and tough but she enjoyed the rest of it. We had to ask 3 times for extra gravy for our food so we had nearly finished by the time it arrived. My daughters both had pizza and salt and pepper chips and they said it was lovely. We went for Mothers Day meal which was very noisy and had lots of children running about in the other room with the seating booths. We enjoyed lots of cocktails on the happy hour menu which were great. I would recommend a stronger hand dryer in the ladies toilet or another way to dry your hands as the one there is pathetic and doesn't dry your hands.
Food was ok, though would have been nicer if there were a couple more veggie options on happy hour. The restaurant was clean. There was live music playing which was quite loud so we struggled to be able to hear each other talking.
Even though there were only a couple of real ales on, service was great and the beer quality was good.
We had the twisted tea bottomless brunch food wise I think it's probably the best we've had the twisted tea is a lovely touch really enjoyed it, drink wise there isn't alot of choice but there's something for everyone, the only fault really was as we got into the last half of our bottomless we waited 20mins for a drink and you can't order until you've finished the one you have so sitting drinkless for that amount of time was a little annoying
We visited this evening and had a lovely meal. The gentleman who sat us down with the waistcoat was absolutely fantastic the only down fall is the bald gentleman with the glasses was rather rude and abrupt. We appreciated it was busy as it’s a Saturday evening however it’s not the first time we have been here and been served by him and again was rude then. Lovely food but the attitude of member of staff lets it down
Starters and desserts were great. BUT, the burger was quite bland and very small. The menu stated a double stack burger, turned up with a single patty, I asked the waiter and was told they had changed the burger to a single larger patty (not large at all). Either way, they said they would do a double but all they did was cut it in half and double stack it. Service was ok when we eventually got to order. Probably overrun with graduation week but stop trying to rip off customers. This is NOT an £18 burger and fries....
Visited as a group of 15, and wow, if you like rude patronising waiters, this is the place for you! The food was average, the sticky pudding was a bit like concrete, we sent one back, and the one that came out was just as bad. We had mostly preordered, and staff brought out dishes and said the wrong thing multiple times, e.g., cheesecake (was actually tiramisu), of course it was not the staffs fault. The bald waiter was incredibly rude and patronising throughout, I suspect he thought he was funny, but he really wasn't. My first and last visit!
Booked for Sunday dinner. Waitress took order for drinks and food at same time, Sunday dinner arrived within 5 minutes (Even before the drinks). Every element clearly frozen and microwaved. Very poor standard of food, was surprised given the positive reviews I'd seen previously. No complaints about the service, our waitress was polite and attentive. If you are looking for fresh food however, look elsewhere, zero love or attention paid to it whatsoever.Sub-wetherspoons standard.
My wife and I were in for a meal today and I am sincerely appalled at the way the lady was screaming and shouting at her staff. The pizza and carbonara was great though. The way the older lady with dirty blonde hair was treating staff was appalling. I am severely autistic and the stress level caused my F.N.D to play up so I ended up having a seizure when I got back home and as a result of this I will NOT be returning.
Went for a meal today and ordered a sirloin steak cooked blue. No flavour to the steak and the meat which should have been red was a pale pink colour definitely not worth the price they're charging for it. Won't be returning. Very disappointed as last time we went and ordered steak it was perfect. Wad red meat as it should be and cooked perfect
Absolutely disgusted the way the middle aged lady in black that works there speaks to the younger staff, she has absolutely no respect for them at all. The way she spoke to them around the table i was sat at made me feel uneasy. It would be better off ran by the younger staff members there. Food was well presented and tasted as good as it looked, would come back another time when that middle aged lady isn’t working.
Went to the cornerhouse as a party of 13 for a meal for my birthday, and we were all disgusted by the way it was handled by the staff when we complained about one of the meals. One of our party had ordered a pasta dish, which was watery, bland and hardly any fish in it. When we first complained, one of the managers was very argumentative and intimidating when questioning my friend why she wasn’t happy with her food, she was actually in my friends face. When I questioned again if that meal was taken off the bill, a second staff member accused us of lying about how much of the meal had been eaten, saying there was hardly any left, which was a lie, as she’d eaten 3/4 mouthfuls at the most. Staff refused to take the meal off the bill, instead still charged us half price for it. It’s a shame, because the rest of us were happy with our food, but due to how it was handled, none of us will ever return.
Went in during their happy hour with price of a fillet steak reduced from £28 to £18 . Read revues of place which seemed quite positive . See picture of the *fillet steak* i got served and no i hadn't eaten any of it before i took the picture. I can understand that a restaurant might reduce the size of its steaks during happy hour but to serve a customer that as a fillet steak is embarrassing . No self respecting chef would put that out as a fillet . The rest of the food was ok nothing special but they also got an ordered item wrong and served a salmon fillet instead of the ordered linguini. Didn't bother complaining at the time as was out on a family evening out and didn't want to spoil it but certainly won't be going back to Cornerhouse Lancaster
Food was good, however, the prices on the menu are wrong. They overcharge you more than 4x the price of the menu and say that the price was for Xmas period. So, why did they give us the wrong menu?
Used to love the corner house but last couple visits have let us down completely, to start the night off we where told we couldn’t order of a cocktail menu that we were given by the same person assuming it was the manager from how he was dressed, the Guinness was poured poorly to the point where I couldn’t even finish more then half the pint. Nobody came to us we ended up going to the bar to order something else. The food was shocking we both had pasta, the pasta was tasteless and very watery. Food arrived no cutlery had to ask for cutlery after we received the food. we weren’t table checked once after receiving the food, so couldn’t even tell anybody even though the number off staff walking around doing nothing. Over all terrible experience don’t think our local favourite, we will not be attending again very disappointed
Do not eat here. Awful food. My “flame grilled” steak came burnt on the outside and was inedible as it tasted like pure burnt wood. Chips on both of me and my partner’s meals were disappointing. I said this to the manager and was met with a “it’s supposed to be like that” as she picked up my knife and scraped away the sauce, showing the “char grilled” part. I mentioned i’d been here multiple times and ordered the same dish and it has always been perfect. However she did not care and took away my meal, which was clearly half eaten, and offered no solutions. I would’ve either liked a partial refund or a new steak but received nothing but a scowl. Even though the rest of the staff seemed lovely, I will not be back due to the lady manager being less than helpful/ friendly.
Had lunch here wasn’t good I had fish n chips there was no taste to the fish and the beer batter didn’t taste if beer!. My wife had gammon wasn’t great either came covered in pepper which was not asked for nor expected. Wouldn’t go back poor quality!.
Iv been coming to the corner house for years and will not be going again.the food was flavour less. The atmosphere was to loud and the man they have at front of house is very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. We had pre booked our table and he made us feel as if we were a burden. When it came to paying he was unprofessional and clearly not happy that we wanted to split the bill. If you don't like the general public front of house is definitely not the job for you. Can't believe how much the corner house has changed and definitely not for the better.
Went for a very brief drink late in the evening on 20th May with a few friends, I ordered my drinks with a very pleasant waitress and then was informed that it was last orders. Then while I was drinking my drinks the 'I assume' manager with the beard came over and asked us to "drink up" which me and my friends said "no worries" and carried on chatting and finishing our drinks with a reasonable speed then what I assume was the manager then hovered and cleared drinks the moment it had been finished making us feel unwelcome and slightly uncomfortable, then while I was finishing my final drink before we left he came back over and asked if I was "still sipping at that" in a tone which implied I was being a nuisance I then promptly finished my drink as I got the impression that I was no longer welcome to enjoy my drink. He then proceeded to turn of the ability to use the heat lamps outside and instantly turned off the music. I then finished my drink very quickly and he came back over and cleared it while also making a comment as he left. I felt I wasn't welcome anymore as we seemed to be the only table he was swiftly moving on as the women down from us had a full drink and hadn't had anything mentioned to them at all from what we saw. Very disappointed.
Went for a family birthday meal at Happy Hour on Monday evening 2nd December. 7 of us and we had booked. We. Sat in a very busy, Noisy section of the restaurant. The place was quite dark and the menu very had very small font. We needed a camera torch to read it. No one took a drinks order for about 20 minutes. We grabbed someone and he took the order. 45 minutes later still no drinks and food order not taken. We asked twice and some of the drinks came. We asked if we could order food and someone came. 5 had decided on steak and we told they had none! We decided to leave as it was so busy we didn't feel as if we ever get served. Very disappointed.
