As soon as we arrived, the waiter let us choose our table of choice, seated us, and brought us an entrée of meatballs. They were so good they already gave us a taste of what was to come. We started with the Cambusa appetizer, consisting of meat and seafood dishes; the table wasn't large enough to accommodate all the dishes (we'd read reviews about "abundant dishes," but we didn't expect that). Overall, it was delicious. Next came the main courses, a mixed grill of meat and a slice of tuna, both already accompanied by side dishes. The fish was incredibly tender, melting in the mouth, and you could taste its freshness; while the grilled meat was flavorful and well-cooked. Before dessert, he kindly offered us a lemon sorbet to help with digestion. The sparkling house wine was perfect for the entire dinner. For dessert, we tried the spumone, a perfect end to the meal. The owner was extremely kind, and the service was attentive and precise. Highly recommended!

Professionalità, ottimo cibo in abbondanza e ospitalità. Pane fritto di benvenuto. Abbiamo poi ordinato l’antipasto “Terra nustra”, davvero molto molto abbondante e buono in tutte le sue tipicità. Abbiamo infine gustato i “Quadrotti di chianina” e le “Orecchiette con la ricotta salata”: entrambi primi maestosi e che consiglio. Siamo arrivati pienissimi dopo il primo e il sorbetto ci è stato offerto. Assolutamente da rifare, semmai dovessi tornare in Salento.

Locale situato nel centro di Cocumola. Cucina ottima ed abbondante con prodotti di buona qualità. Personale simpatico, cortese e con uno spiccato senso del "rapporto con il cliente".

We found ourselves at this place, brought by friends. A slightly more sophisticated trattoria/osteria with beautifully set tables and candlelight. The place is family-run. We were swept away by the cheerfulness of the owner, who advised us whether we wanted meat or fish, and as good Salento locals, we said both. The appetizers were brought in, and after two minutes we lost count of how many dishes were on the table (photos to follow). Then we continued, choosing between a first course, fried food, bitters, and coffee, and dessert courses. To finish, we were treated to a refreshing lemon sorbet. The bill was a surprise. I can only tell you it was under thirty euros per person. The size of the first courses was incredible, practically enough for three people. The service was fast, and the place is spread over two floors. Let's say the only flaw is the little elevator they use to transport food, which made a lot of noise for a few seconds when it was activated, I think due to some malfunction. But nothing catastrophic. We had a celiac child with us, who was treated very well by the owner, who advised her on what to eat and what to avoid, and later the dish prepared especially for her wasn't the usual pasta with sauce that many restaurants offer. In my opinion, it's worth making a reservation to secure a table... The staff were kind and friendly. Highly recommended; I can only say, keep following me on my travels for more great food.

The staff is friendly and helpful in accommodating customer requests. The restaurant has indoor dining space and a small corner area outside, where tables and chairs are set aside for diners, surrounded by hedges. It's the best on the street in terms of style and refinement. The prices are reasonable; the bombettes pictured are €11, including a side dish. Unfortunately, the quality isn't great; the bombettes were very greasy and oily, and only one had melted cheese inside. The grilled vegetables were cold. We were offered both bitters and sorbet, which was unexpected considering the price of the dishes and the small quantity we ordered. Recommended, and definitely worth trying.

Cena discreta, con personale gentile e servizio più che veloce. Nell’antipasto misto di mare (l’antipasto cambusa) forse sarebbero state meglio meno portate ma più qualità del pesce e della preparazione. Conoscendo profondamente come si mangia da queste parti, ci siamo rimasti un po’ male. Niente di non buono eh, ma nemmeno niente di eccellente. Porzioni abbondanti, prezzi giusti
