Stopped in with my son after working a very long day. The parking area was spacious. The diner was small, immaculate, and well lit with natural light. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. We never had to ask for more water or coffee, he just brought it. I am 65 years old and have eaten in many diners, enjoying few of them. This, however, was absolutely the freshest, most delicious food I have ever eaten in a diner. I couldn’t stop eating. And I am not a big eater. We loved it. You will too.
My wife Jessica and I always come here when we have a some time together to eat out. Very warm spot with great parking and light wait times. My fave thing here would be the ultimate stuffed French toast and the breakfast potatoes always cooked just right. 10/10 recommend.
Great tasting food that is very appealing to the eyes and fills you up! The portions are good enough to have later too. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The best fried chicken I've had! Pizza on par with local pizza joints. Sandwiches are generous, meat is cooked finely. We went to this location as well as Mamaroneck Diner frequently. Bread basket was steamy fresh! We enjoy these two diners very much and leave full and happy!
Great menu selection. The food is enjoyable and the staff is great. The restaurant is not large but the tables are properly spaced apart which makes it comfortable and intimate enough. My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast and time spent here. Thanks Google for recommending this place to us. I highly recommend it also.
Prices and food are always amazing. We've been coming to this spot since COVID and have never once had a bad experience. Even when there's a wait they take your number and always call faster than the ETA they give.
We tried this place on the last day of our trip, but I wish we came sooner. The food was really good, large portions and great service. The diner itself is well laid out and didn't feel cramped. I had the country skillet and it was awesome. Kids meals were large portions, so if you have a 4 yo and a 1 yo, like me, they can definitely share one meal. The place was also super clean.
Love this diner! Friendly and attentive staff and most of all, amazing food. The best breakfast potatoes for me. I enjoy coming here for brunch with the family a couple of times a month. Be sure to visit!
I love this diner! This was my first time ding here. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the service was wonderful! Lazaro was attentive, warm, and professional. I ordered the homemade pulled corned beef skillet was truly satisfied! It's also open 24 hours daily with diningroom service until 2:00 AM so I will definitely return! Thanks BLD!!!
Always a hit, have been coming here for years. There is sometimes a wait, but it is worth it. The staff is consistent, friendly, and very funny once you get to talking. And those breakfast potatoes 💗 Their hostess, Ana, and the rest of their crew are top notch at all times!
BLD Diner exceeded my expectations. The menu offered a diverse selection of delicious dishes prepared with care and attention. The friendly staff provided prompt and efficient service, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, allowing for a relaxed meal. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality of the food. Overall, BLD Diner is a commendable establishment worth visiting for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.
Love it here. Always friendly service, the food is always consistent and they have the BEST blue berry muffins (get it toasted with butter and thank me later!!). See yall soon!
I love this diner! The soup here is amazing! Ask for the cup and you'll be served with what is considered a bowl anywhere else. Ask for a bowl and you'll find yourself swimming is the largest vessel of soup you've ever seen in a restaurant. And the soups are fresh and delicious every single day. Now, think about this--that's only the soup! They treat all of their food with a care and consideration that is rare in today's restaurant experience. I've never been disappointed by any dish I've had here. The staff is adorable and generally attentive. The patrons are courteous and generally kind crowd. The food is outstanding, generously proportioned and affordably priced, in the true spirit of diner cuisine. Can't ask much more from a diner and I don't. It's as perfect as it gets.
Really good diner for all day breakfast and a diverse lunch/dinner menu. My mom and I stopped in this weekend for lunch after shopping at Trader Joe’s. I got the Philly cheese steak panini and she got the club sandwich and we shared. Everything was fresh and the fries were nice and hot.
Went here for a pick up order. The place seems very clean, and the food was very delicious. I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger. We got the marinated chicken with mixed veggies for our toddler, and the food look great. The BBQ jack chicken panini that my wife got was good, and she mentioned she'd get it again. I'm going to get food from here more often.
Their breakfast is always our favorite go-to. Im living for the crab cakes Benedict and those delicious home fries 😋
A Shoutout to BLD Diner!!! Hi BLD Diner Team, I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible dining experiences my family and I have had at BLD Diner over the past year. From the warm welcome we receive upon every visit to the delicious and fresh food that never fails to impress, every moment spent at your diner has truly been a delight. One of the standout points for us has always been the amazing staff who greet us with beautiful smiles and make us feel like a part of the BLD family. The attention to detail in the kitchen also deserves special mention - the "well done beacon" is a true testament to your commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I also appreciate that the pricing at BLD Diner is fair and reflective of the fantastic dining experience you provide. It's not often that you find such a perfect balance of great food, friendly service, and reasonable prices all in one place. In conclusion, BLD Diner has become our go-to spot for family meals, and we look forward to many more wonderful dining experiences with you in the future. Thank you for consistently exceeding our expectations and for creating a welcoming environment that truly feels like HOME! Warm regards, JulietakaJules
Went there for breakfast last week. Food was very good (eggs). Service was efficient and friendly. I definitely will come back.
Stopped by the diner for brunch with a small group. We were seated right away and distanced from other customers due to Covid-19. The staff was courteous, took our orders and food arrived quickly. I ordered pancakes with ham which was pretty good. The pancakes had a unique taste but very good with enough to take home for breakfast the next day. The hot chocolate was not as rich as I would like and a bit watery. I decided to try the premium Cosmopolitan drink in a bottle and was very surprised how good it tasted. I would go back the next time I am in New Rochelle.
i came in very late but they were more than hospitable and very polite.
Me and my fiancés order from here at least 4-5x per month on uber eats! We Absolutley love this place, the green goddess salad or cheese burger are my go to and the best chicken tenders I have ever had for appetizer! Highly recommend this diner!
BLD is a great diner. A bit pricey for a diner but, worth it. Outside to a somewhat small size, it’s a great atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. I had Nana Berry Pancakes with the Country skillet. The country skillet included: crispy home fries, onions, mushrooms, bacon, ham and cheese. Very enjoyable, indeed. I’m definitely, returning.
This is and has been one of my favorite diners to visit at any time of day. The staff are kind and accommodating to your needs. The wait time is short, even when packed. And the food is delicious. I would recommend the black bean burger, the Mediterranean salad, or the California chicken panini. Definitely a good spot for a mid-day or late night snack :)
Richard and Annette! The dream team. Solid, consistent diner. Only getting breakfast food so can't speak to the full menu but have not had a disappointed dish ever. Staff is super friendly as well. Recommendation would be the omelets. Egg money, yo(lk)
We unexpectedly found this family diner on our exit to Maryland. It turned out to be good. Very polite staff. I left wishing that we had diners such as this where we live. Th8s restaurant was very clean and quiet, despite the large number of patrons.
The pancakes are so delicious I will be returningfor them! I definitely recommend the service was also top tier very attentive but not obsessive.
the restaurant is one of those places that one gets to see from the outside and maybe walk past thinking, that it is something very small and they do not offer a good menu but when ordering the dishes you find that it actually offers very good alternatives,The presentation of the dishes looks very good. and the taste of their food is really on another level. I recommend it for welcoming and good taste of the food, do not be carried away by appearances
The food was delicious. The service was fast and cordial. Highly recommend this diner.
My first review followed this, but at 2.30 in the morning, the 24-hour diner was closed. Call ahead, please. Having driven 12 miles here, I won't be back. Having a decent 24-hour diner in your area is a rarity these days for security reasons. This one maintains that 50's vibe, has parking, is safe overnight, and has good food and service. Other diners open 24 hours further south in the Bronx, have no parking, and are in bad areas, usually near a taxi stand, a subway station, or both. None of the four other diners in the Bronx are in neighbourhoods safe enough overnight to warrant a visit. But moreover, this one is the best in the area. It is worth the drive. If you are doing overnight videoconferencing with Europe or Asia and need a place to eat and is still not a dive, this place is your place. I sat here unencumbered for two hours, and no one bothered me. That is what you want in a restaurant overnight. That is service. And the food was outstanding.
My friends took a long drive out from the Bronx to come get food here and boy was it definitely worth it. The food was amazing and their menu is definitely different offering a bunch of options depending on your late night craving. Will becoming back here for sure the pastrami burger was fire.
Service is always exemplary, polite, attentive & top tier. Food is good & the space is big.
BLD Diner This afternoon, we (2 parents and 2 kids) stopped by for a Valentine’s Day brunch. It was our first time at this diner. Both of my children used their provided crayons and coloring placemats. Our waitress was Karen. She was very attentive, polite and capable of looking a guy in the eyes while speaking (extremely rare in New York). There were other employees apart from Karan who checked on our table. Donaldo, the general manager, came to our table and helped me pay our bill by credit card. He was also in the moment and on the ball 100%. The music was nice too. Impressive
Ordered the french toast and my kid had mac & cheese. We were both happy with the food. The server was attentive and refilled my coffee and our waters.
We found ourselves home with colds on Thanksgiving but still wanted to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner so tried BLD because their food has always been so good. They did not disappoint! The roast turkey platter was huge with plenty of turkey, delicious house made stuffing and your choice of veggie with gravy and even cranberry sauce on the side. The cheese ravioli was also a large portion and a perfect appetizer for two! The star of the show were Ellie’s Twice Baked Spuds and we even have leftovers for today! Delicious rolls were also included and plenty of side salads too. Half the price of grocery shopping or any sit down restaurant. Thanks to BLD for making our sick at home Thanksgiving special!
As I used to live in New Rochelle I frequently visited BLD Diner. Today I drove up from The South Bronx for my favorite Stuff French Toast. French Toast stuffed with apples and cream cheese filling. Garnished with cinnamon, fresh cut strawberries, and blueberries complete my plate setting. A side of Turkey Bacon completed my comfortable sit down in one of my favorite diners in NY. Service Service Service.
This review is long overdue.... as this has been my go-to spot for years. Friendly service, usually not much of a wait, if any. Open convenient hours (used to be 24/7 before Covid). Consistent quality food. Not a huge menu, but good choices. All-day breakfast (I ❤️ breakfast). Good parking in a free lot attached to the diner. All the soups I've had here have been very good as well. Yummy desserts!
Food is consistently good. I do mostly take out because they are quick and reliable. I dined in this week - good service, good food. Excellent salads! My only complaint is the stuffed baked sweet potato mentions dates in the ingredients - no dates to be found. They were missed. When mentioned to servers, they said "sorry." We had already finished it, searching for dates, so too late to fix.
We loved this diner!! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here and some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had in way too long! Service was very friendly and the diner clean and welcoming. We're here for only a short time-frame but when we come back, this is a great place for us to enjoy breakfast. They're also open 24 hours so lunch and dinner is also available. 😋 Update:. We're back!! BLD Diner is such a yummy, clean and friendly place; we've been here twice this week. You can't get better eggs made your way!! PS...their coconut cake is beyond delicious!!
I was very impressed with BLD’s comprehensive menu and even more delighted when I ordered one of their “ make your own omelettes “ and asked for scallions , tomatoes, mushrooms and cheddar cheese I was blown away by the fresh asparagus and other vegetables that were clearly recently purchased and the omelette was out of this world. It came with the best crispy potato’s with onions and I think it might have been the best breakfast I’ve eat anywhere ( including my own kitchen)! Their service was impeccable and more importantly, BLD Diner is open 24 hours a day! I’m a great believer in being willing to pay more money for exceptional meals and I felt that I definitely got my money’s worth!
Went here with family on. Saturday morning before noon. The place was surprisingly packed considering the early hour, got seated about fifteen minutes after we arrived. Masking is enforced at the door which is clearly labeled with the signage. The place was packed with lots of families along with a constant stream of take out orders from the kitchen. The food was a little on the pricier side for diner fare but all the dishes were well-cooked and tasted fresh. I had an order of avocado toast with smoked salmon which really hit the spot. I would go again, but would probably arrive even earlier to try and avoid the wait.
Love this place. Those corn pancakes are the best i have had. The potatoes are cut in little cubes and are crispy exterior and soft inside. I definitely recommend this place. Only thing i hate is they charge $4 for a cup of coffee thats a bit steep for a diner. Also it gets very crowded so don’t be surprised if you have to wait
I'm very partial to this Diner when it comes to breakfast. The manager is outstanding and always accommodating a true gentleman at all times and professional. So is there staff. They always seem to serve quality food and their waiters are very attentive. I've had a couple of there meals nothing I can quite remember. Although I'm always here for breakfast more than anything else. They make their own corned beef hash from scratch which is amazing! with flavors and spices of peppers and onions that just remind you exactly what scratch is supposed to taste like and be made from. Overall it's my choice for breakfast that is always a good idea on any given day. If you enjoyed the review. You know what to do👍. Thank you in advance for your time.
Great food, soup options, and drinks. Very clean place.
I think breakfast was a little pricey for what it comes, I spent $85 for 2 people and they don’t have like combos for breakfast. Staff was super friendly so no problem with them.
I give it 4 stars because I've only visited it once on my birthday. I did however loved the food as dis my kids. We all ordered different foods and we all enjoyed our choices. The server was very attentive to our table and I went and chose a piece of cake and the servers added my name to the plate and sang me happy birthday. Decent prices for a diner.
BLD-Diner has to be one of the best restaurants I have been to in terms of customer service, pricing, and food portion sizes. Each member of staff we encountered was very polite and helpful. The food prices were about average or less than you would pay at other restaurants or diner for the amount of food you received. And the food was delicious! I only wish they had more vegetarian and vegan options available, which is why I am giving a 4/5 star rating. I would certainly each breakfast here again in the future and bring along some friends as well!
I have been here a couple of times. Small, intimate, fairly busy place. I want to say the service is different every time I go. I have had the same waiter twice, and he was better the first go round. The second time, the service was not tip deserving. The food is usually good for the most part. For some reason, I always forget to take a picture of my food. The wait time is between 5-30mins depending on the day.
I found this place on goggle and after reading the reviews I wanted to try it out. We drove 30 minutes from our home and waited about 15-20 minutes to be seated. The service was slow which is understandable for busy Saturday morning. I had high hopes until it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did arrive it was incorrect. It was so incorrect that the waiter did not even try to rectify the problem. I had to get up and go to the counter and get someone else to come and address the problem. While a new order came out later I still can't say that any of the food we had was tasty. To a point the bacon had that preprocessed taste and I wasn't a fan. The hostess did give us a very nice apology. But we had already paid the hefty $70 bill for breakfast that we could have had locally and correct.
Pretty Standard Dinner. Menu is compact with a good selection. Was a little disappointed that their southern fried chicken wasn't used for their chicken and waffles dish but instead was fried tender pieces. Otherwise a good place to grab some breakfast. Been back a few times and the breakfast sandwiches are great, haven't been disappointed.
The place really fell off. Forgetting items on to go orders is one thing but when I ordered a 19$ beef quesadilla they put roast beef instead of chopped meat. The quality was also not the best. I know places try to save money by cutting corners but unfortunately I will never be going back,
The milkshake was so good home fries were on point the BLT was delicious despite the fact that's not what I ordered there was a communication issue with the waiter had I paid more attention to my order I would have realized that he didn't understand me however what I did receive was delicious the gyro platter not so much the tzatziki sauce was off and the dressing they gave us for the Greek salad that came with it was also not right more salad than anything else on the dish not enough betta meet wasn't that good ample parking clean facility friendly staff
Just an okay eggs benedict. Certainly nothing memorable. The hollandaise sauce tasted like a packacked mix and was bright yellow….I think my server forgot about me too, because I never received a coffee refill and had to get up to ask for my check.
Had breakfast here with my wife. The home fries were fried and greasy. Coffee was mediocre. I heard this place will close. Won’t be missed.
It feels like any other diner but the food is very good. However, I would suggest to only dine in here. My family and I have never had an issues with food when we dine in. It's very good diner food. Their chicken breakfast sausages are sooo good. Inove their stuffed French toast, and they have amazing sandwiches. Our issue has always been with takeaway. I'm unsure if the kitchen just gets lazy with food they're sending away because they know the customer is leaving with it so there's less of a chance to get a complaint. We call every time there's a problem. We've had our food burned and still packaged up like it was fine, we've had incorrect orders, missing items, found hair in our food and most recently, even had broken plastic in a container of guacamole. First of all, it is tube guac, and had I known that, I wouldn't have gotten it. In any case, I asked for a side of guac, and whomever packaged it must have broken the first container. Instead of putting it in another container, they just threw the broken container in another container, and sent it in the bag. The problem is that plastic broke off of the first container, and was on the food. Now, that's concerning, because if we were on site, and the container was glass, would they have just shoveled the food into another container? We could have swallowed that piece of plastic and that could have been very dangerous. I called up and informed the restaurant, and the manager, who is always very nice, apologized profusely, but that was my cue to never order takeaway from them again. I've given them loads of chances but every single takeaway order, for the past 5 orders with them, have had an issue. I can't say that I will dine in with them again either.
Wow the tap water and fries were amazing. No but seriously the chicken wrap and panini had the most rubberiest, driest chicken I ever had and the pancakes were pretty mushy. However the service was fast, efficient and the staff was friendly. But everything could’ve used more flavor. The atmosphere was calm for a Tuesday night. Likely won’t return unless I’m thirsty.
Way too expensive for mediocre food. People working there were nice but the quality just wasn’t there.
Let me put this way, staff was very friendly, but not attentive. The food was terrible for the price they were charging. We had a gyro more like a fake gyro not even real lamb. Frozen mozzarella sticks, bdus mozzarella sticks way better. The fried calamari one of the worst I've had, look at the picture. I only recomend do to the staff not the food.
The food at best was average. Service was less than subpar and the cost was astronomical. The main reason for this review is to inform the public of their pricing tactics. Everything you order off the menu is a la carte. So in my case I ordered a side of eggs with my pancakes. The waiter asked me how many eggs and I said two not knowing he would charge me for two eggs. He did the same thing with waffles. Total price was 82.91 for 1 adult and two 11 years old. Just be conscious of what you are ordering.
I ordered chicken n sliver$$ pancake and I got 4 nuggets and 13 sliver. No cap it looked like Mickey'sD nuggets. I know times is hard but put some condiments on the table. So I can use at my discretion. Never visit again
We visited this establishment with our twin toddlers in anticipation of a yummy lunch. There was only one party ahead of us and upon check in the host informed us it would be a 15-20 minute wait, no problem. While we were waiting the kids needed to go to the bathroom so I took them while my husband remained at the front. The diner called while I was in the bathroom with the kids but I couldn't pick up as I was managing two four year olds in a diner bathroom, plus my husband was seated directly in front of the host so I knew he'd get our table when our name was called. When the kids and I came out of the bathroom (maybe a minute after the diner called) I was surprised to see my husband there still waiting, I thought they'd take him to our table. I asked the host "isn't our table ready?" He said, you didn't pick up the phone so we went to the next person on the list. My husband was sitting right in front of the host and there were only two other parties waiting in the restaurant! Why not say my name out loud? Even if he somehow didn't remember that my husband was previously waiting with a woman and two kids just audibly saying my name would have sufficed. We left immediately and had a great lunch at 179 Bar & Grill, where we had a great meal and excellent service. I look forward to returning to 179 and am grateful that the lack of attentiveness at BLD led us to a new favorite.
Food was good, but the waiters and staff were terribly rude. We sat down and not even 2m in, they were rushing us to order and when we were trying to figure it out, the waiter gave us an attitude and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The food came out pretty quick and fresh but the staff were very rude and awkward. Nobody welcomes you going into the dinner, it seems like the owner or front desk personnel just wants the day to be over when they advertise that it’s a “24hr dinner” or closing at “1am”, so I don’t understand what the rush is if I arrived way before 1am. Parking is very accessible, but my 1 star rating is solely due to the staffs hospitality standards. As a restaurant you need to care for guest because they are the ones bringing in money and keeping you open, but providing terrible services it’s not creating an inviting atmosphere nor showing that the staff has any type of training in hospitality and communication.
This is a stand alone restaurant, that has a decent sized parking lot. We went just before noon and it was so crowded that they took my cell number for the wait list. We waited maybe 10 min. Typical diner food. No specials offered. Dessert case. They seemed to be sufficiently staffed. My husband and his brother ordered breakfast and I ordered a burger. We watched as three other tables that came in after us got their orders. The waitress for our table seemed to be responsible for the take out orders so she wasn't attentive. I finally got up to ask and she still continued to pack the take out orders. We finally got our food and my burger was still walking (very rare-the menu says they cook them medium unless otherwise specified) She seemed to be upset when I complained that it wasn't what I ordered. She took it back and when I got the 'corrected' burger, it still was red in the middle. I ate around the edges and some fries, because at that point they we're already finished eating. All that for almost $50 (one 'fake' fresh lemonade) It was crowded, so maybe I was just lucky to get the wrong waitress on the wrong day.
The food there was nothing like when I checked the reviews first off the salad shouldn’t even be called a salad they literally gave me a bunch of leaves and tossed in a huge chunk of onion and other vegetables inside, I didn’t even bother to eat it. The spaghetti and meat balls were horrible the meat was stale and had almost no flavor and it was cold and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can never coming here again.
We had an amazing service by the waitress Annette, but the manager, or the man who is taking payments is classless and rude. If you have chosen to be in the food service industry, your shirt shouldn’t be that open, it’s unsanitary. Second of all, we were not rude patrons, we placed our order we ate and we left. When we asked the question at the end, his attitude was absolutely unnecessary. Be nice to the people that make your wages possible- just as we were nice and respectful to you. Also, treat your staff with some dignity. It cost you nothing to be nice. You’re paying $20 for a burger in this place, the french fries were cold, the burger is decent, and they give you a quarter of a pickle, not half the pickle, not the entire pickle, a quarter of a pickle. I would not recommend this place to one person because of the one experience I had with this man. You’re better off going to McDonald’s down the block. They have better diner options as well. The one thing they had going for them was clean bathroom and the waitress unusually the wait staff is pretty good.
The atmosphere is nice for a dinner but the portions are small and service is so so.. we went there got my fajita steak omelet that iscost 18 bucks had 4 slivers of meat the eggs looked like they added milk or pancake batter to fluff them up. The meal was lacking substance and the waitress does not come around to refill coffee.. so for two people both getting omelets and one coffee each the bill with a tip was almost 60 bucks. Hey BLD we came there 3 times hoping to support your business but it's just eggs with potatoes and toast fill the plates up. But we're not coming back
The food was not very good. Hubby got a burger. Want a fresh patty. Had to have been frozen. The burger made his bun so soggy and not juicy soggy. I got a stuffed chicken breast dinner. Chicken want stuffed the stuffed pay was laying on top of my chicken, nothing stuffed about it. Mashed potatoes bland and loose. Won't be back.
