The most authentic Japanese meal I’ve had in the Bay Area. This is inclusive of some of the top rated places in SF. Mama-san is a gem! The food is also high quality, maybe low presentation, but very fresh and tasty!

There is no place like Fukusuke! I have followed them from Sausalito to their Larkspur location. I have been going to Fukusuke since the early 90’s. Warren and Mama San are so kind and attentive. This is a family run restaurant and they treat their customers like family ! Great food, experience and people.

Such a wonderful place. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is sublime, the service and people running the restaurant are lovely. Don't even think twice, just go. You absolutely will not regret your choice. Mama San is reminded me of my favorite grandmother in the best possible way.

Delicious food and super friendly service! They show a lot of attention to detail and make you feel like family when you eat here. Mama-san showed me how to eat the grilled mackerel with daikon (add soy sauce to the daikon and eat together with the mackerel) and made me feel so nice 🥰

What a sweet place! Food was authentic and filled with joy! The wait staff (mom and grandmother??) were as kind and thoughtful as could be. Just being around them made you feel like welcomed guests and family!

I don’t love many places but this place is an exception. Originally in Sausalito on Caledonia, this was my place to go for Japanese. No nonsense, no hype, no fluff. Just really good food made by a really fabulously talented family. Even after moving to Larkspur, they did not change a thing.

Excellent food. Charming, cozy place, family-run. Will definitely be back. Unagi Don with sashimi, gyoza, and cheesecake were all terrific. Cheesecake is very unique! Has an eggy almost flan-like texture, light and delicious. Great little gem of a place.

very good!!! i enjoyed the sushi a lot but would prob order 2 rolls next time as they were pretty small. the edamame and mochi were also great. very sweet woman willing there

Visited by accident and not a fan. Service - 3 at best. With all due respect to older generation working in the restaurant,we waited 30 min at the table until someone will take our order. It was a hassle to get a water, we had to remind about ordered drinks. We had to wait another 30 min for our rolls. Food- 3. We ordered sushi and portion size was minuscule. Not much flavor difference between rolls. Atmosphere- 4. Nice, family style and cozy. Bathroom is clean and tidy.
