Best authentic Mexican food I've had in a long time I recommend this place I drove an hour to try this spot my friend recommend me.
Pretty chill good food enjoyed my meal let us stay past close never bothered us
Haven't been here in over 7 years and Still one of the best restaurants in Chicago for Mexican food!!
Got Taqueria La Paz catered for work - it was a hit! The staff were so helpful when it came to picking the menu. The steak and guac were standouts - can't wait to order from this place again!!
Amazing food and service!! We had Taqueria La Paz cater a lunch for our office of 150+ people and everyone was raving about the delicious fajitas, rice, beans, and guac. We'll definitely be ordering again. :-)
Had never eaten here before, but we took a chance and catered our kids birthday party from Taqueria La Paz…..it was spectacular. The homemade tortillas complimented the half trays of Pastor, Steak, and Chicken for our build your own taco setup. Bountiful Rice, beans, and sides to compliment. The combination of flavors were incredible, and left the guests talking about the food for the rest of the night. Service was incredible at pickup, with everything neatly packed and the staff even helping us load the car. Will for sure be getting food from here again.
The go-to place for authentic tacos in hand-made fresh tortillas, served by a friendly staff.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. It may seem like a small restaurant, but the food is AMAZING! Definitely recommended if you're looking for authentic Mexican food. Service was wonderful, kind, and always looking forward to make customers happy. Atmosphere was pretty nice. This restaurant has now become my favorite!!!
Fresh and authentic Mexican cuisine, the rich flavors of traditional recipes. Their “Caldo de Res” (beef soup) has captured my heart and taste buds, a favorite comfort food - served steaming hot, it comes brimming with an abundance of fresh vegetables making every spoonful a delightful experience. Their beef soup alone is worth the trip, but you’ll find that every dish on the menu is crafted with the same care and authenticity. My favorite vegan/vegetarian dish is the ‘Tacos de Nopales.’ Freshly made and packed with flavor, they’re an unbeatable deal at just $1 each on Taco Tuesday!🌮 The staff are friendly and attentive.
WOW!!! A true gem! It’s a small restaurant but the food quality and quantity were fantastic! I recommend the tacos with the handmade tortillas. The Al pastor was delicious! One of our dishes was cooked wrong but they made the accommodation and removed it from our bill. We’re about an hour away but if we’re ever in the area again we are definitely stopping by again!
Tacos de mano "handmade tortilla " are so good. I had steak tacos. They're 3.49. Good amount for the price. The regular, small tacos most taco places have are $2+ and don't have much meat. They also have regular tacos but I don't want regular :) ... the meat is good, the tortilla is airy. A little fluff and honestly, 1 is enough for me. The horchata was yummy. Their tortilla chips were fresh, hot and not soaked in oil. The restaurant was clean and service and quick. Will be eating there again.
I’ve been to Taqueria La Paz many times, usually on Sundays, and it’s a solid, reliable spot for Mexican food. I’ve tried a variety of items over multiple visits, including burritos and quesadillas with lengua (beef tongue), chorizo, asada, and al pastor, and everything has been consistently good. They offer two types of quesadillas — the handmade ones, which are large and filling, and a smaller version — and both are satisfying depending on how hungry you are. I’ve also tried the stuffed pepper torta, which was good as well. Nothing I’ve had has been bad or disappointing. That said, the food is good, not amazing. It does its job well, but it’s not something I find myself craving. Because of that, I’d give this place a solid 4 stars. If I could give a 4.5, I probably would — it’s a safe option, fairly priced, and consistently decent, just not quite at the 5-star level for me. One thing to note: there is a credit card surcharge, so paying with cash is the better option. Overall, a dependable neighborhood taqueria that’s worth visiting if you’re in the area.
I stopped by for their Taco Tuesday special to give this spot a try. It’s a total mom-and-pop operation, located on a busy intersection in 60639. The area has no shortage of Mexican restaurants, so the competition is tough. The vibe is colorful, bright, and informal, with plenty of space inside. Tables and chairs are a little worn, and the high ceilings make it a bit loud, but it has that home-style, casual feel that’s good for a quick bite. The Taco Tuesday deal offered four protein options; I went with steak and chicken. The chicken was flavorful but on the dry side. The steak had a good taste but definitely packed some heat, so if you’re sensitive to spice, be warned. The tacos themselves were small, which I assume was because of the promo portion size. Chips were a nice touch, and the guacamole was yummy, though it could’ve used a little lemon and salt to really pop. Service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. Overall, the experience was solid but nothing extraordinary. It feels very much like many of the other neighborhood taco joints in the area. I’d come back if I was nearby, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
Taqueria la Paz is a nice small restaurant on a small street. Service was prompt. I ordered a carrot juice and squash flower quesadilla, which were very good. They also have an extensive variety of juices from kale to cilantro. All the tables were busy, and the noise level was high. The bathrooms are accessible and clean. I do recommend Taqueria La Paz.
Jessica's service is excellent, she is a very nice person and very attentive. On the other hand, the owners' daughter, Kimberly, is very arrogant. She doesn't know how to serve people. You can talk to her and she ignores you. She's always on the phone, sitting as if she had nothing to do, letting her employees kill themselves cleaning, taking orders,. It seems that you call her and she doesn't make an attempt to serve you well. Very poor service from this person. In order to have clients, they should have better service. The food is not as good as many people say. I don't recommend this place, but seeing it is believing, my people, if you go, I wish you luck and hope you have better service than mine.
