Incredible Tex Mex - best burger and queso I've ever had!! The tejano cheeseburger was the most amazing ground beef, cheese, Yellow Bird, and crispy bun that I've ever had. Oh and if you've never tasted melon, goat cheese, and Texas hot sauce you are missing out! A drive-out-of-your way place for amazing food.
Smoked, shaved rib eye steak sub with horseradish sauce!! In the fall this sandwich changes to french dip, so I'll be back. Try the ginger slaw... it's really good. These folks are trying new and inventive stuff. Check em out.
What a little gem of a place! Our chili was to die for with big chunks of meat, dark red sauce, heat, and a little after sweetness. We also had 2 margs, a bowl of the queso with chilis, and a house salad. We would definitely go back!
I ate here while camping at Garner. Pleasantly surprised to find this gem in an area without too many food options! Friendly service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, full bar, and great menu. Will go again! My smash burger patty melt was as amazing as it looks!
This place is a gem that stands out in the small town of Leakey. It has a charming and casual atmosphere with top notch craft menu options - food and drinks were amazing. Although you order at the bar, the service was wonderful. I will be back next visit!
SO GRATEFUL TO RUN INTO THESE AWESOME SPOTS WHEN OUT ON ROAD TRIPS. SERVICE WAS GREAT, DRINKS WERE SPOT ON. BUT THE FOOD, WHOAAAAA. SMASHBURGER WAS #1 EVER. WE WILL BE BACK
This place is so good! They have a big menu and lots of good/fun drink options. The tacos were amazing. The queso and guacamole were also great. Really cool vibe, could sit inside or outside. Really fast service too!
This place is too cool! Newish joint in Leakey but fits in great. The burgers are exactly what you want. Smashed with crispy edges and two slices of melty cheese with a great toasted bun. The margarita is beautiful in its simplicity. Not too tart, not too sweet, a little tequila flavor comes through, as it should. Just a great margarita! I hope we can get in the next time we stop by. I'm afraid it will be really crowded.
I absolutely love this place. I visited it a few times on my first trip to the frio and loved it. Food was delicious and portions were generous. I did not leave hungry shout out to the Matt's for killing it in the kitchen. The staff were super friendly and professional, prompt service wether ordering food or getting another drink. Atmosphere... During the day suuuuuuuper chill, sitting on the patio with a breeze is sublime but after the sun sets it's a party fo sho. I love the decor and the vibe and the locals!!! Man I had a great time hanging with them *** beware of the beautiful hurricane Lindsey*** 😂😘. Also go to meet one of the owners she was super nice and welcoming as well. Hands down totally recommend, 5 stars? Nah make it 10. Check this place out if you are in the area it will not disappoint. Much love to Leakey and Gypsy's for an unforgettable experience! Love you guys and miss y'all so much!
Cute little hang out place! Recommend the burgers or fully loaded options. Tacos are a different flavor than what you might be used to. Drinks are good and strong!
Really unique and amazing queso. The guac is really good too. Unique and refreshing agua fresca flavors. One of the most delicious classic burgers I’ve had: slightly sweet bun, perfectly melty cheese, crispy edge patties, and the gypsy sauce! Friends also got the steak tacos, and steak salad and were just as pleased. We sat inside because it was raining the day we went but the outside seating area looks fun under the neon lights!
Awesome Burgers with smoky flavor. Topped with Buns from a local bakery. Very tasty.
Excellent atmosphere! Great location. Best roast beef dipper I have had in about 25 years since a dear friend passed that used to make them at a little place in Cleveland, Tx. I will send my friends from back home to Leakey, Tx to check it out. *I REALLY REALLY wanted to buy a t shirt with the sign on it. HINT HINT... please make one in a men's XL for me and I will buy it when I come back next time.
Great little place we found on our way to Garner State Park. Had a great meal their Gypsy Nachos were so good! Really good drinks, too. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Delicious food, friendly staff, really good vibes. Almost everything is made fresh in-house and you can tell. The chef is a really passionate, friendly dude - you can tell he loves his job. I got chips and guacamole and they were very good. My boyfriend loved his cheesesteak and commented that the queso was especially good. The drinks here were also the best we could find in Leakey OR Bandera.

A new favorite when visiting the Frio! The food was absolutely delicious; the chili cheese fries were huge and good, and the burgers were excellent. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the giant Connect Four game was a big hit with our kids. We’ll definitely be back on our next river trip!
The “Painkiller” cocktail? Straight-up tropical vacation in a glass—totally gave me Caribbean flashbacks. The BBQ chicken nachos hit that perfect smoky-sweet spot. Only miss? The bacon on the BLT—wish it had that thick-cut, crispy edge to really seal the deal. Bonus points to the bartender—cool energy, felt like I was posted up at a trendy spot in NYC or Austin.
We stopped here Friday night for our first time. The wait was longer than expected but we were wanting to enjoy the outside atmosphere so it was ok. We saw a couple who waited quite a while and when they finally got their food they had to eat it quick in order to make it to football game. They were a little agitated. We got our food and I had the smashed burger and my husband had the smoked burger. I’ve included pictures. I’m sorry to say the Mac and cheese was not good. It was saucy but had no flavor. The burgers had a good flavor but my husbands smoked burger by the time he got it had sat too long in the bun and the bun was very soggy. The fries were over cooked and crunchy. They had a good flavor. I’d definitely still go back and give them another chance. Our bill was around $43 and we had the two burgers, two teas, Mac and cheese.
Unique place to hang out and drink in this town. We ordered the tajano burger and the super cheese burger with curly fries. The meat used for the burger had an odd flavor and texture to it. Not sure what they are using but I’ve had better frozen patties. The rest of the ingredients were good though.. the curly fries were 🤌🏼 The drinks were great, I’d recommend the ranch water and mezcal margarita!

I will give this place a generous off-season review, while also clarifying that we'll never go back here. The food was great and appreciated the outdoor seating. The person we placed the order with audibly complained about "so many bad tips" when we offered 20% on a 4 item order without any customizations. Maybe we don't know the norms here since we're traveling, but that display wasn't necessary. But I get it, service jobs can be difficult. That said we did clean and bus our own table and waited more than 30 minutes to receive the food after ordering, though half the restaurant was unoccupied, so the tip still seemed fair to us. Sorry you felt cheated.
Place looked cool, not much to choose from in the small town of course. Heads up because it is very pricey 92$ on tacos burgers nachos. n drinks. & not so much the price if only, food was better. . The nachos did the job. We never got asked how was it, if we needed anything else. But maybe that’s just how they do business🤷🏻♀️ that’s ok I’m js.

This place was okay. They were "out of chicken" so then the staff recommended the steak fingers to me and said thats sounds great! She then walked away and came back and said " we are out of streak fingers also". So I just ordered a cup of chili and the chili meat had a very distinctive unpleasant taste. The rest of my family got burgers and they all loved their food. The curly cries are very good. Seasoned well. I dipped them in their goat cheese spread which was delicious.
