My wife and I came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I had the Salmon and my wife had a burger with loaded fries. Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar. Very good service. Nice and friendly service. Clean restaurant.
We were hungry and decided to stop at a random restaurant in a town we had never heard of before on our way to Charlotte. So glad we did! Had our drinks within minutes, apps within another few mins, and dinner not too long after that. Fast and friendly service are the two things people look for in a great place to eat and we certainly found that here. Prices are about 50% cheaper than they could probably charge! 10/10
As always we enjoy this place so much! The staff is incredible and food is excellent. Celebrated my 34th there last night. Our waitress was amazing and the cake and birthday song was just what I needed to end the night. My son did get sick at the table it was random and completely unexpected, but we cleaned up and the staff and manager were on top of sanitizing and were so nice and professional. So thank you for that 💕
My husband and I are new locally and we were looking for a new restaurant we could go to. This hit all the spots. Great food, great atmosphere. New and renovated, new bathrooms and restaurant. We can’t wait to come back in the warmer weather and sit outside on the patio. They have a big bar and seating for drinks and appetizers. Great food, great alcohol selection, we had really great service and will come back again. Formal dinners as well. It is nice to have a local restaurant in town that we can come back to over and over again.
The food was excellent!! Good portions and great service. The cheerwine BBQ was amazing.
Amazing local place. If you're from here, you'll understand this reference. It's like having the chef from Off the Square cook your food.... But the ambiance is somewhere between Five Points and Outback. It has a steakhouse feel, with a sports bar vibe, mixed with southern dishes prepared to world class standards. Plenty of seating, and plenty of options on the menu. You can spend 20 bucks each, or you can spend 75 bucks each. There's options up and down the price range. I've only been there once so far, but I plan on going back until I have exhausted the menu! Check it out, and tell them I sent you!
I went to the Local Room for the first time on Valentines night 2026. My hubby made reservations which were very prompt when we arrived. The atmosphere and music( vibe) was amazing. Our waitress named Towny was wonderful very knowledgeable on the menu items. I asked a bunch of questions and she answered and gave great recommendations for drinks and food dishes . I ordered the Blueberry Lemon Mule this drink is one of the best I’ve ever had such great flavor. My hubby had the Blueberry whisky drink which that too was wonderful. We ordered Spring Rolls, Wedge Salad, Rainbow Spinach artichoke stuffed trout, Shrimp and Jalapeño Cheese grits as our dishes. Every single one of them was so yummy and tasty. During our wait Clive ( Manager) walked around greeting everyone checking how everything was going as in service, food, etc. He was so informative and a true delight to talk with, a genuine nice guy. We will make this a staple going forward as a restaurant to take our out of town family visiting, our romantic evening dinners, for this is a very good restaurant and the food did not disappoint. The Local Room has now become a place to love. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed . Also the pricing of everything was very reasonable. No complaints on anything.
This was our first time here and we'll be back! It was an excellent experience. I had the 8 oz House Burger with cheese & bacon with an order of Fries and a bowl of Loaded Baked Potato Soup. EXCELLENT! The burger was freshly made, the bun was toasted and the bacon was crispy. The Fries were perfectly seasoned. My wife had the French Onion Soup with an order of Fries. She said the soup was very good and cheesey. She loved it ! What I liked about everything, everything came out hot. Our waitress was on top of everything, we never had to ask for anything. The atmosphere inside was very pleasant with some TVs showing sports. We definitely will return. When in Locust I highky recommend you stop in here and have yourself a meal.
Sooo good .. waitress was great , chocolate martini is the best I have ever had. The food was delish. We did the queens special menu..soooo worth it ..
Food was delicious and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quite busy on a Friday night, but they have an overflow parking lot behind a small car dealership.
Excellent lunch experience! We ordered apps & small plates to share. Michela was fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes & crab cakes.
Tonight’s dinner was absolutely fantastic. The food was great with generous portions, the drinks were absolutely delicious and our server, Michelle, really was over the top amazing! I think her level of service really took our evening to the next level. Almost all of our drinks were excellent with great flavor although I would skip the painkiller. Every item we ate was simply delicious especially the fried burrata and onion soup-but it’s not fair to skip mention the steaks and rosemary potatoes. The apple side was an amazing dessert as was the cheesecake. We are sorry it took us so long to make it here, but plan to be back often and soon. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a delicious meal at a great price. Also, if you are able to sit with Michelle-I highly recommend it!
Wow! Took my bestie here for her birthday. First of all I love the sweet little town of Locust. Every experience I’ve had here leaves a happy feeling. It was a Saturday night during prom season and we didn’t have a reservation so no table was available. Several different staff apologized for this fact. We were seated at the long table in the middle of the room since we didn’t have reservations. It was fine. The waiters were the bar keepers Rhett and Tyler. Could not have been more kind helpful, prompt and courteous. All good. The atmosphere in crowded places often bothers my hearing but here I had no issue. It’s lighting and decor give it a nice feeling. Love the mural in honor of the beloved Locust. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so very delicious. Perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I had the chicken melt, black eyed peas and loaded fries. I ordered the chicken because the menu said it had 3 kinds of cheese and I’m a cheese fanatic, imagining it would be loaded with cheese. It wasn’t, but still was good. The black eyed peas were the best I’ve ever had. We even asked Rhett how they make them. Super delicious. The loaded fries hit me in the happy with their generous cheese. My obsession satisfied. My friend ordered the ribs and rosemary potatoes. She loved the food and raved about it and swore she will be back here. We intended to order dessert but the portions were so generous that we didn’t have room. This place is a gem and I’m hoping they do amazing business. I’m thrilled to have a new excuse to go to Locust.
Went for my friend's birthday and we sat at the bar. We both had a lovely time and all the staff members were incredible kind and attentive to our needs! 10/10 will be coming back!!
Found a new date night spot.. no pun intended but yes it’s local for us! Great service and can’t wait to try more of their menu! Saw this restaurant on Charlotte’s Restaurant week website. I wanted to take the husband out to another Queens Fest to try more ‘local’ flavors. And he loved this spot. He had the Rocky River Ribeye, with herb butter- perfectly seared, light crust, very good. For me I did the Queens feast .. bacon wrapped scallops, French onion soup, 10oz peppercorn sirloin. And wow! So so good. And I loved my drinks.. thymed to get smashed. Excellent spot for a date night. We sat at the bar. Great service
Always a good choice! Love their Tuesday prime rib, Ribs, Friday Salmon Special, and those bbq bacon wrapped scallops with 1/2 salad... Don't get me started, SO GOOD! Make a reservation just in case you don't want to wait. It is the perfect way to end the day with a blueberry basil lemonade and friends. See you there!
My husband & I enjoyed lunch today.. The establishment’s nice, warm atmosphere was topped off with wonderful, relaxing music, played by a solo guitarist. Our choice of an Appetizer was the Southern Egg Roll and it was delicious! For our main course, I chose the Harvest Salad & my husband had a House Burger, both were very good. Very friendly staff, and a very clean restaurant. We enjoyed it and will be back again.
Excellent food and service, at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.
What an oasis in the desert! If you’re into favor adventures, this place will take you to new places. The mixologists are talented and the drinks menu offers a plethora of fun drinks to try. Ever item - egg rolls, chicken salad, salmon salad, double stack - was one flavor train after another. The Lemon Drop Martini, Chef’s Choice, and The Locust Mule drinks were delightful. The atmosphere is extremely enjoyable. We will absolutely return and highly recommend The Local Room for anyone looking for a good time!
The food was amazing. We had a nice dinner there.
I always have a good experience here. They have small portion options which I love. My favorites here are the collard rolls, the salmon, the ribs. Today I had potato soup and salad. Soup was good and very cheesy. Ñ
Fine dining in Locust NC!? Who would have guessed!!! I can't express how pleasantly surprised I was by my dining experience at The Local Room. Daniel was amazing! Manager/Bartender & today a server as well. Monday is couples night $60 and a bottle of wine! Tuesday Prime Rib! Wednesday & Thursday specials.
Food was delicious! Menu choices were fantastic, making it difficult to choose what to eat! I loved having the option for small or shareable plates, it made menu tasting a lot more fun! We had a girls evening eating our way through many menu items and craft cocktails. I cannot thank the staff more for their excellent service. Everyone I interacted with was polite and helpful. We enjoyed spending a leisurely evening at The Local Room and hope to return soon! They are doing a great job with spacing during Covid, be sure to book a table in advance!
Incredible dinner at The Local Room!! This was our first time here, but definitely not the last!! The Shrimp Bruschetta was complex and delicious! Excellent home made salad dressings. I had the melt in your mouth Fire Roasted Salmon with roasted Brussels and Barry got the char grilled Ribeye. Perfect cook and char!!! Don't miss this great new local restaurant - you will not be disappointed!Exceptional service, great atmosphere and friendly owners!!!
Jennifer was really really awesome. Accidentally left our to-go box and a birthday card, she ran out to the parking lot to give it to us. Great service and food was fantastic.
What a phenomenal experience. My husband found this on Google for a date night we had never been. I reluctantly said yes and we were not disappointed! Exceptional food, friendly attentive service (shout out to Alyssa!!) management stopped by multiple times to make sure our meal was cooked correctly and tasting good. We are grateful to have a local place pushing wonderful flavor combos (when I saw brie on the menu I was in love!) we can't wait to come back to try some of the specials! Thank you to the local room we will be back!!!
The food was excellent. The dessert was a little pricey for the serving size. We will definitely go back.
Absolutely outstanding experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfectly curated for a relaxing night out. Briana was our server and she was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And I have to mention the tiramisu martini… wow! It was the perfect blend of dessert and cocktail—smooth, rich, and a must-try. You can really tell the management here runs a tight ship. Everything ran seamlessly, and it’s clear they care about both the staff and the customer experience. Definitely coming back for the next date night!
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Love both the specials and regular menu items, they are all amazing. For my veggie lovers, the broccoli with seasoned butter is cult worthy. Drink menu is fabulous and gets updated frequently. Kayla is an amazing bartender & is 100%. She can sub out different liquor options based on your preferred liquor products. Love it, we come here for lunch, dinner, & brunch every week.
Phenomenal experience every time I come. Tyler (server) always provides the best service and attitude you could ask for in a dining experience. Thankful places like this still exist. 5 stars.
Had my wife birthday dinner here. Food was great. Chicken, Trout, and soup of the day , Load Potato Soup was awesome. Sat outside and atmosphere was great. Our server, Cassidy, her second day on the job, surprised us with a birthday candle on our desert. Server was terrific..
We were there celebrating my daughter’s 40th Birthday. We had a huge crowd and Michaela was our waitress. She was absolutely amazing‘n we never had to wait for service and all out orders were correct. She deserves a huge raise!!!! Thank you!!
We were a large group of 11. We sat outside on patio. What a lovely place. Food was very good. Not a single disappointment from any one in our group. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
We had the best dinner and truly the best server ever. The food here is always excellent, and even though we ate super late, almost at closing time, everything came out hot, fresh, and perfect. And we never felt rushed. Tyler took such great care of us and was incredibly accommodating. He had us laughing all night. He’s genuinely one of a kind!
Recently moved to Locust, with recommendations for The Local Room. We have visited for brunch and mostly dinner a couple of times.. Tonight, we ordered the Autumn pork chop. It was perfectly executed, tender and flavorful. Cocktails were delicious as well! Jayden was our server, and she was knowledgeable, extremely personable and we loved conversing with her! She elevated the entire experience. Manager Daniel is a delight as well. We will be certain to return.
Every time we go to the local room we have had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious. My wife and I use it as a date spot from time to time and it never disappoints. This time we got fried green tomatoes, ribs and a southern style burger with pimento cheese and grilled onions would definitely order again.
This restaurant is 28 miles from my home. I don’t get here much, but whenever I am in Locust, I absolutely stop here. I stumbled upon it driving through Locust, NC when it first opened and have since had a number of exceptional meals at the Local Room. I’ve eaten inside and outside, had everything from salad to salmon, and had many different weight staff in the years I’ve been coming. Everything and everyone is outstanding. I’ve had great service with very personable staff every time that I have visited. Today I met one of the managers, Josh, and he could not have been nicer. I’m at a point that I will probably start coming here not just when I’m in the area, but more as a destination spot to have a fine meal. I highly recommend stopping here whenever you get a chance.
Pleasant space, high ceilings, seems good air circulation. We have great service by Courtney. My chicken pancetta was very tasty, a bit crunchy and tender, nice shoestring fries and delicious broccoli. He enjoyed his chicken sandwich very much. Nice choices of beers! And the sweet potato cheesecake was yummy. A place to repeat.
It's been a few years since I've been here, really good food, service was good, draft beer selection was okay. Not a fan of IPA too hoppy for me, more of a Red Oak. Food was delicious and hot. The way it should be.
Beautiful facility that is very inviting with classy interior styling and a large outdoor seating area. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted at the door and quickly seated (reservations had been made prior to arrival). The menu has a nice variety and allows for full and half orders of many dishes which helps balance food quantity and budget. Our group tried 3 different appetizers - collard egg rolls, artichoke dip and feta cheese dip. The highlights from our visit were some.of the sides like fried squash and broccoli. The salmon dish was the dish with the best presentation, the ribs were tender (but only had sauce across the top), the CLT sandwich was tasty (but the ham was a little saltier than I liked), the smothered chicken was tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Comments were made that a return visit was highly likely.
We enjoy the occasional outing to The Local room. They provide great professional service, a great atmosphere (you can dress up or dress down), perfect for dates or family meals, and nice location to home. Drinks are amazing! The only thing we're not 100% is the food. Some dishes are amazing, and others are bleh. For instance, my husband ordered the chicken and shrimp linguine, and it was super oily/watery.. the bottom of the bowl held a cup of oil or water. Sadly not worth the high prices sometimes..
The staff were great. But the food was meh. My husband got the burger and said it was alright. I got the chicken sandwich and was disappointed. Everything needed salt. My sandwich was supposed to come with caramelized onions, bacon, and an aioli. The onions were not caramelized, there was a sprinkling of bacon and aioli lightly dabbed on one side. This is the second time we’ve been here and second time we have been disappointed. Which is a bummer, this is one of the only sit down places in the area.
Food was enjoyable. "Forgot" to bring out the salad. The manager's recourse was to offer to "box us up one to go". Of which I declined. Day old salad didn't sound that appetizing to me. To which he assured me it would still be great, even the next day. I still declined. Nothing further than an, "oh well". That annoyance aside, the meal and drinks were very good. Overall, for a first visit, the quality of the food may draw us back for another visit.
So we’ve been here a few times and I would say the thing the local room is missing is consistency. Sometimes the food is great sometimes it’s not same with service. I would 100% recommend sitting at the bar because that is by far where we received the best service. The food like I mentioned can be hit or miss, regardless of where you’re sitting. I wouldn’t fully recommend unless you’re okay with just grabbing a drink and a semi okay meal — they do have decent weeknight drink specials. An example would be their risotto which was drenched in oil and kinda gross but then other times has been tasty. We forgot to take pictures of the entrees, but included some sides/apps pictures for reference.
Took the family out for something new We ordered the chocolate cake for $9.50. It was underwhelming. Other restaurants include ice cream, syrups, and whip cream. Usually you get free rolls, here they charge $8.00. I tried the pesto chicken sandwich, unfortunately it was dry and again underwhelming. I ordered brocolli as a side and it was great. My family ordered the BBQ chicken and hamburgers. The BBQ was an unexpected pepper spice behind it . The fries were tasty as well. Our waitress Macaila was positive and enjoyable. The atmosphere lighting made it difficult to read the menus. Unfortunately, it is a place that doesn't invite me back.
We stopped in for lunch after the auction next door. The food was good but not cheap, even for the smaller portions ($14 for a side salad with 3 pieces of shrimp). The food seemed to be well prepared. I bit into a taco that my grandmother ordered and thought I had hit a piece of bone. Instead, it was a decent sized piece of plastic 😵. That has left a horrible taste in my mouth. I've been here numerous times and had great experiences, even visited for my 30th birthday. I know this will most likely never happen again, just hard to look past it. I'm just happy my grandmother didn't eat that taco.
Have gotten takeout there twice, both times half the food. Way too expensive for what you’re getting. Paid $24 for pork loin no side.! The sweet potato I ordered was literally the size of a half dollar coin round and maybe about4 inches long. Got about two bites out of it and wasn’t even good. Have not been impressed.
I ordered the small spinach and artichoke dip with pita as part of my to go order. I had ordered all pita but still received a mix of pita and cucumber. The problem was the amount of dip. It did not even cover the bottom of the container. As you’ll see in the pics I took. I measured it and it wasn’t quite 2 tablespoons. And what was there was mostly huge chunks of onion. Worst quality and quantity I’ve ever reviewed here.
Called in an order for dinner (ribeye, broccoli, chopped steak, baked potato). The call went well. My husband picked up the meal and while not verbally rude, they were rude. Specifically, when a customer hands you their card for payment, you do not place it on the counter at the very end of the bar. Additionally, you’d want to hand the customer their order and not place it on the counter at the end of the bar and say “there’s your order!”, as you walk away. I have only visited maybe a couple of other times-always carry out, and it seems stand offish on each instance. Additionally, there seems to be an environment that is not inviting if we decided to dine in. Learn to embrace and welcome all customers from all walks of life or plan to loose a tremendous amount of business as this area grows and options multiply.
Great atmosphere great service, but don’t order a steak unless you don’t know what a good steak taste like. $48 for the bone in ribeye that was undercooked, tough, and over seasoned. Ordered a loaded baked potato with it you would think with a $50 steak they wouldn’t nickel and dime you to death but they charged me extra for the toppings on the baked potato.
