Outstanding prime rib. Didn't even catch the "special" price but wow, is it worth the regular price. Excellent food, service and atmosphere, every time.
The surf and turf was absolutely delicious. As the prawns were the best, I have EVER had in Humboldt county! Also do not forget to order some garlic bread, as it’s absolutely fantastic as well
Amazing food. My family celebrated Father's Day dinner here and everyone had something different and we all enjoyed it immensely. 5 stars across the board. The only issue was the electric blinds are battery operated, and apparently we're not working for the first hour of our meal and so it was pretty bright at our table. Our server Levi was wonderful.
Really great service and great food! The food came out quick and very tasty. We ordered one dish of the shrimp Alfredo and our waiter was nice enough to split the plates for us. We also came during happy hour and got a great deal on our drinks. We had a great experience definitely coming back.
Quality hot food, served in a timely manner. Had food vouchers and server helped us maximize and stretch our dollars. Levi had 10 tables by himself and could have really used some support by peers or management. Been here 3 times and will return when I am in the area.
The food is made to order with fresh ingredients. The service was excellent and the view was very nice. I had a country fried steak the was perfectly prepared, the batter was delicious and the steak tender. The pecarina potatoes were seasoned to perfection and crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. The bread was obviously fresh baked and super tasty.
Was passing thru area and stopped to stay evening at the casino and when got on property read sign it was Pasta Night!! Was very impressed with the quality of service and the food was all delicious.. highly recommended
Food and service is awesome!!! They take great care in how food is prepared and presented. My whole family ate well here and decent prices. We had fish n chips, French dip, clam chowder, the Sunday buffet and even ordered room service.
Love the food. Everything I've eaten here has been fabulous. The staff are also very friendly and attentive.
Have been to brunch a few times. Food is good. Great service. I would like to see a little more variety. Pretty good price.
I had the Cobb salad and it was one of the best Cobb salads I’ve ever had!! My hubby had a New York strip steak and said it was seasoned really well also! Highly recommend. Don’t sleep on this casino restaurant. The service was also really good 10 out of 10 recommend! Janice, our server was great! They let us park our RV in the parking lot and we were very appreciative thank you bear river Casino resort. :)
Excellent service from Stacy. The prime rib was perfect! I was a bit rude, to say the least to Stacy who was only doing her job. I was irritated about the $3.00 plus 18% gratuity for to go orders. It wasn’t her at all she was perfect! I understand that hosts or servers don’t get tipped well, especially with to-go orders. Please tip your servers/hosts great, they deserve it!
My family and I love eating here during our trip! One server in particular, Katie, went far above and beyond any of our expectations. Her upbeat and personable attitude made our visit extremely pleasant. She was very considerate and vibrant, including jamming out to Bohemian Rhapsody between tables. Her attention and enthusiasm towards my children was superb, and we hope to have her as our server again in the future.
Went here for Mother’s Day and had a great experience! The staff was friendly and the manager made sure our reservations were on time. It was nice to see everyone not to overwhelmed and working well together. So kudos to the everyone and the management for being well prepared!
Went today for the Thanksgiving Buffet. It was MAGNIFICENT! The food was fabulous. They had plenty for the vegetarian, as well as the usual turkey and ham and so forth. Wonderful martinis, terrific coffee, wonderful desserts. AND.....we had a lovely server. Even though the place was full of happy celebrants, our server made us feel like the most important customers in the room. WOW!!!!!
Here before one of the concerts great food sat at the bar first waited for our table The bartender was amazing nice full of information she was on it too and then we got our table and got and it smelled good and looked amazing and we didn't wait very long for any of it and the staff was very friendly and it was a very super clean and the ambience was absolutely romantic and amazing.
We came here for dinner while staying in Ferndale, where most restaurants were closed on Mondays. This was a surprisingly good restaurant with decent food. We had meatloaf and fish tacos with local beer. Our server was phenomenal--extremely friendly. This is a good choice when you're in the area.
Every part of this meal was delicious! The clam chowder was the best I've had in a while. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were exceptional both in taste and portion size.
New management has changed this facility for the better. Two years ago we tried this restaurant and were disappointed. 10 years ago it was an unmitigated disaster. Tonight made up for those prior days. Food was delicious and creative, server was attentive and the overall dining experience was beyond top flight for a small casino in a small town. Rivaled the legendary service of Station Casinos in Vegas. Decor is no longer tacky Indian casino, signage is bright and well executed, air filtration I the casino has smoking well vented, and staff is pleasant and engaged. As transplants from Sacramento/Reno market and having served casinos as part of our business, we wanted to find a local replacement for the by gone days of Peppermill when they had a comfy lounge and fantastic eats to chill out with after work. Bear River just might have that. We'll be back weekly with the how they can repeat the excellence.
Rivers Edge Bar and Grill is a beautiful restaurant with fantastic views. We met family for Pasta Night and had a great time. Good atmosphere and great food. As a bonus, play some games in the casino afterward.
We ate here for valentines day. They had a limited menu which I love because they means they can whip the food out. Great nught with my wife and the food was great. Next valentines day we are there for sure. Live the main bar and all the people here. Ryan Sundberg the general manager does a great job
The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Waitress very personable and restaurant very clean. There is a wonderful view over the valley that you can enjoy while dining. I will go back again!!
Had the fish tacos and they were pretty darn good. Waiter was professional and went over how everything was prepped. I’ll be back!
Pleasantly surprised!! In the area for a few weeks and the food was delicious! Bacon wrapped meatloaf is a must! The prime rib dinner was cooked to medium rare perfection.. will definitely go back while we are here. Hidden gem..
Our server was amazing. The restaurant was beautiful. Servings were absolutely wonderful portions. However, our burgers were overcooked, and that was a little disappointing. *edit due to owner response Our burgers were burnt. I was trying to be polite.
Beautiful view and great menu. Thanks for a fun birthday dinner! Was slightly disappointed that my dinner did not come with the vegetables as stated in the menu. Otherwise, a very great place!
I came here for dinner and breakfast. The food was actually not that bad and the employees were nice. There was a bit of a wait both times and we were pretty much the only people in there. But, the food was not that expensive and we had breakfast vouchers. However, for some reason the water we had dish soap in it both times, which was weird. But, I probably will come back.
This would be a 5 star review because food was great and our server went above and beyond to get us what we wanted and was very friendly. However, it just takes so long. After we sat it was 5 minutes before anyone even talked to us. I don't want to blame this on the server since every time we've been here it takes a long time.
The food here is amazing. I've been in the restaurant to dine, ordered room service and placed an order to go. The view from the dining area is stunning in the evening. Looking out onto the city of Ferndale and onwards towards the ocean is beautiful. The windows are tinted in a way that keeps the glare of the setting sun from being harsh. The wait staff was professional and curtious. The dining area was clean and well kept. Our food was well prepared and received quickly. My experience with room service was pleasant. A bit difficult to get the order placed. That may have been a bit of a communication issue. Beyond that our food arrived at a decent time. Everything was an even tempurature and as ordered. For the to go order there was a slight delay. The timing of my order had to do with that. Beyond that, the food was ok. I had ordered Eggs Benedict and the bread potion was very tough. All in all, I have enjoyed coming to Rivers Edge whenever I stay at the hotel.
Excellent view from the dining area. Menu a bit limited, but the food was good. Drinks menu not provided unless requested was a bit surprising. Hours are shorter due to staffing shortage but still cover most of the desired times.
Had fish and chips for dinner and a dessert. The staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The portions were a bit on the small side for the price ( see picture). The meal came to a bit over $50 for two fish and chips with one dessert.
Breakfast was decent but very over-priced. The staff was kind including the robot servers that the staff allowed our children to pet and it would make kitty faces and sounds, we all got a kick out of that. Nice facility. But our food took over an hour and they weren't even busy that morning. Don't think that was ok. Later that day we decided to try lunch there and they said they couldn't seat our group of 10 because they were understaffed. If that's true, shame on management for not planning to be fully staffed for a labor day weekend. We went to Paul's Pizza in Fortuna, I highly recommend it.
My friend had the prime rib special & I had the new spinach salad. The food overall was good but my first bite of the spinach salad had a large walnut shell in it. Not good!!! I showed our server the shell & she said she would give me a discount. It amounted to $2.80 off of a $14.00 salad. Would of felt better if she just would have apoligized.
A little overpriced, and their chicken breast is a bit on the nervy side. It's quite uncomfortable to bite down on something that won't break and bounce back. Otherwise their food and quality was delighful. I said nothing to the waiter and left a $100 tip.
I was a little disappointed to find that they were cooking food in the dining area. Unlike a Hibachi Grill place, this one is not designed for that concept! The quality of the food versus the price of what you pay is not worth it if you ask me. We got the ribeye steak and I've had it better at any of the other restaurants that serve steak. It's hard to focus on your own dinner when all you can smell is an excessive amount of garlic wafting through the air due to them cooking right in front of you somebody else's pasta dish!
Good food, but pricing doesn't match quality and experience. Same situation as the hotel; they just weren't very welcoming/hospitable. Felt like we were inconveniencing them by being patrons. Stood at the podium for *extended* (5+ minutes) period without being acknowledged, despite there being a staff member's at the host stand and the bar. In fairness, they only had two servers, so they either schedule it that way or were short staffed. When this restaurant is closed the only other option is the cafe in the casino, and so children are not allowed. Same situation there; short staffed and unwelcoming.
Table for 1, waited about 20 mins to sit when it wasn't full. Was seated and no one acknowledged me for over a half hour. They were out of mashed potatoes. Food was OK, drink was overpriced. Server wasn't very attentive, for $40 for a drink and dinner I should have just ate leftovers in my rv 🤦🏼♀️
Disappointing. My burger was very overcooked and very under seasoned, I expected better for $18 "Humboldt grassfed beef". The glassware for my beer wasn't clean enough to hold any foam and the beer was a short pour. The onion rings and the view out the window were great!
I came in to get a hot breakfast and relax yet it was anything except relaxed. Before getting into my experience here is what I ordered: I ordered the following: 1 Pancake $2.00 1 Waffle $4.50 Fried Potatoes $8 which was not labeled like this it was labeled as a side for $4 yet they were $8.00 I was sat in the middle of the room and had multiple waiters and waitress passing never taking my order. I was doing a breakfast date live on TikTok and after asking to move because it was too loud and too many folks passing me I needed to sit in a booth seat. I was moved to the booth seat mind you was waiting at the table for 15 minutes prior no water no nothing. I figured if I was in a quitter area I would get some service and nothing. I had to ask 3 different wait staff and the manager twice to have my order taken and nothing. After sitting there for now 30 minutes I again asked is someone going to come and take my order. Then one of the waitresses I original asked for assistance came and took my order. Then a young man delivered my food about 20 minutes after that. The food was great I was happy with the food however the service was a big NO! Service is your main responsibility as a server and that is where this establishment failed. I sat in this restaurant for over 1 hour waiting to have my order taken and it was not busy at all.
They will take your money when you're not looking. I was charged a 40 dollar tip on my dinner, and then they had the audacity to ask for another "tip" on top of the one they call "gratituity". Food was overpriced but decent. The service is horrible and the staff could care less because they will charge your card for a tip regardless.
Poor service. Mediocre food, especially the prime rib. Went on a Wednesday,so they were busy. 20 minutes to get a drink order and another 15 minutes to get the drinks. Then we ordered and received the food in another 25 minutes, a total of 60 minutes from being seated. Ordered the prime rib rare per the servers recommendations. It was served medium well at least. Not a pink muscle fiber to be seen. I did like the asparagus (up charge) and the mashed potatoes but come on... medium well??? Drinks were mediocre as well. Joined the Players Club for no reason. Will NOT probably be back for food again. You guys blew it!
Went for the valentines dinner spent almost 200 for 2 people food was good but took around a hour and a half to get our meal and portions were very small both me and my wife ate our entire meal and appetizers and we were still not full
Went here for a Christmas party with 30 people. I understand parties are hard to cook for but not one thing between 3 people I tasted was good. The food was TERRIBLE! Over cooked my steak, the vegetables were so cooked they were babyfood, the frys had no taste, the chicken strips were over fried, the mashed potatoes were so salty you might as well have been drinking out of the salt shaker. Service was good, very friendly.
The place looks nice enough however this is our second time here which was less than optimal. This time, our waiter served a Cline Pinot when we asked about and then ordered Cline Old Vine Zin, one of our people was not served for almost 15 minutes after everyone else was, and while all the meats were cooked properly, the flavor was lacking. This is not an inexpensive place to eat, I see little reason to return.
I’m not one to post negative reviews. I’m giving them a 1 star because their service was very good. The food was awful. The mashed potatoes were grainy, the meat was the quality you get at breakfast at Denny’s. The pork belly was nothing but jell-o fat with. I flavor. The crème brûlée was good and so was their garlic bread. Because the food was so awful we opted to not stay at the hotel or gamble on our road trip.
This was hands down the worst restaurant in this area I've ever eaten at. Everything but my fish and chips was foul. Ribeye had no flavor outside of burnt liquid smoke veggies where obviously microwaved. Even the hamburger was not edible. The waiter asked how our meal was my response was can we have a box I'm giving it to my dog. $120 bill for dog food. No we ordered nothing extra one ribeye steak one hamburger and fish and chips Never again If you want to eat at a good casino go to Blue Lake Or Trinidad This place is garbage
My friend and I had a horrible breakfast. We were the 1st patrons of the day and the only table in the restaurant at the time. Our breakfasts were cold. The sausage patty tasted like sage infused hamburger. The potatoes were from the day before they were dried out and cold. My friend's plate had dried on egg yolk stuck to it. We didn't see any wait staff from the time he put our plates on the table until I had to knock on the kitchen door to get our check. When we complained about the food, lousy service and dirty dishes we were given a small bowl of dried out, chewy canteloupe to compensate us for one of the worst dining experience i have ever had!
Even though there were only 5 tables occupied..service was really bad. Not one refill for coffee. (Fresh pot was brewing. Never finished apparently). Dinner served quickly but had to finally ask waitress for check. They are..however, very good at apologies!
Wow. This restaurant was pretty awful. The decor was average. The service was average. The prices are VERY high for such low quality food. I had the salmon; it was edible, but not what I would describe as good. It came with garlic mashed potatoes that tasted nothing like garlic, but were sour. I could not eat them. It also came with the "chefs vegetable of the day" zucchini and squash that was overcooked and looked and tasted dried out and rubbery. It was difficult to chew. Our appetizer was the fried avocado. It was hands down the worst I've ever had. The oil must had been bad because the batter was bitter and very dark, but was undercooked and mushy. My father had the fish and chips; the fish was fried till it was brown/black and tasted burnt. That might have also been because of the bad oil. You can find better food at a Denny's. They definitely take advantage of the fact that that are basically the only restaurant in the area. I was very disappointed. I would never go here again, nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Brunch was $30 per person, no wonder someone skipped on their bill. But there are Cameras, so don't do that. Other casinos in the area have much less expensive brunch for 1/2 the cost and the quality is the same. We noticed the popularity had dropped significantly. Price is most likely the reason.
