Absolutely brilliant. Family meal on a week day and we ordered starters first. Great portions. We then had the main meal which was equally large sized portions. Naz was a brilliant waiter and made us all feel very welcome. Recommend this for good hearty meals and value for money.
The food was just top tier. They were all so good. The cacio Pepe was just mwah. The lasagna was sooooo gooooood. The pizza was actually really good as well. The tiramisu was so well balanced and not too sweet. Loved the starters - we got the beef cappacio and the octopus. Omg the octopus was so soft and just melted in my mouth yum.
This was my last evening in London and I wanted Italian food. I was told Bella Cosa was an excellent restaurant. That is an understatement! From the time I entered the restaurant until the time I left, I was never neglected and I was given five star service! The host sets the tone for the staff. He’s very friendly yet professional. The wait staff are knowledgeable and efficient. Huda took care of my order. She made me feel at home and her delightful manner contributed to an excellent experience. She never “hovered over me”, but was there when I needed something. The food was the best I’ve had and I cook Italian. A must is the shrimp tartar. The pasta carbonara was one of the best I’ve had. The fish wasn’t overcooked and the dessert…. The vegan apple tart was sinfully great. Mahalos for a wonderful meal and incredible service. I’ll be back again. John Phillipis
We had a wonderful meal here! The staff, Nas & Don, were super helpful, very attentive and friendly, and great at recommending dishes. We especially loved the cod croquettes. Will definitely return, it was a lovely atmosphere and we were able to take our time too which is always appreciated - thanks very much!
The food and atmosphere is amazing. From the riverside dining to the simple and elegant decor which compliments how great the food is. From starters to desert each dish has its individuality and exquisite taste! My personal favourite is the beef tagliatelle the flavours and its consistency was great. The fried octopus is a great starter and as a whole the cheese cake with strawberries was a great way to end the evening! Everything overall is really good and I will definitely visit again for more authentic and halal Italian food which was a great plus to its menu also having a vegan section and a wide range of drinks!
11/10. An impeccable place worth returning to. We would advise to make a reservation in advance. Venue is made up of 2 floors. Luckily we were offered upstairs which was a lot more quiet as there was a larger group downstairs. Nice view of the Thames & airy. Kind of felt like you were sat on a yacht. The female waitress (didn't catch her name!), was so lovely and attentive, she even gave recommendations. She was constantly checking we were ok. Even in between meals the other waiters were letting us know the meals were on it's way & topping our cups up (went for tap water). The food was amazing. Starters- plates were left clean, surprisingly larger portions than expected. Starters- Parmigiana (delicate flavour, well seasoned, the rocket complimented) Mushroom & truffle aranchini with saffron dip (full of bold flavour, one for the cheese lovers) Mains- tagliatelle bolognese (hearty, tomato comes through but balances with the meatiness) - lamb pizza (big enough for 2 imo, nice thin base, traditional woodfire style ) Dessert- tirimisu (creamy & moreish) -chocolate molten cake (ice cream balanced out the strong coco) A very varied menu, with their own specialties. I noticed a few negative reviews which I'm guessing they listened to & improved by the time we had visited? The best bit, the price didn't cost an arm and leg like other places in central/ special occasion meals. All meals are halal (apart from any hams/sausage). Even the tirimisu is halal (no alcohol which is commonly used in other places). Thank you for our anniversary meal :)
Well, what an experience my daughter and I had at this restaurant! We came for a weekend away staying in Canary Wharf and fancied booking an Italian restaurant and found Bella Cosa. From messaging online to book, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely table in the window overlooking the wharf. The service was quick and helpful. Our starters and meals were absolutely delicious. I was unsure on having a starter but recommendations were made and I’m so glad I went with this. Someone checked everything was ok after receiving our meals and regularly made sure everything was ok. Next time I am in the area, I will be sure to bring my family here. The location, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Well done guys and thank you for making mine and my daughter’s weekend extra special :)
Second time going! Omg, it's stellar! Nothing but the highest compliments to the chefs and staff (shoutout to you Asmita)! The ambiance is so relaxing! I came here with my mom and sis! To try something new! The mocktails were amazing! My mom and sis had the feeling that they were lounging in the Carribbean beach's! As for the hot chocolate, it was so creamy and velvetine! Asmita, you're amazing! The presentation and attention you gave us was awesome! We'll definitely be back! 💓💕 The staff were so lovely and welcoming to us as well, my highest praises for you all. And highest compliments to the chefs for the meals. From the Mushroom Arancini (which my mom has been craving since our last visit), to the gorgeous cheesecake and tiramisu. Everything was perfect - the presentations, the flavours. Everything was made such such passion and love and I could not be more grateful for such a wonderful authentic Italian experience. We'll definitely be back for more! Much love, Bella Cosa! Please keep up the amazing work 😁❤️💓 Asmita, as promised! See you soon! 😁💕 Lyn and family xxx
A hidden gem! Lovely place and service. Been there on a Sunday at lunch and was very quiet, which was nice for our newborn. Child friendly (especially ground floor). Excellent ingredients. I especially liked the asparagus soup and the tagliatelle. Very tender the pork belly. I personally prefer the classic tiramisù served in a cup, but this was also nice, with reach mascarpone cream. Excellent prices for the quality offered.
Excellent food. A very nice relaxed restaurant with brilliant and attentive service, candlelit tables in the evening make the ambience perfect for a date too. Food is freshly prepared and well presented. Full of flavour and portions are good. A place I've been visiting for some time and will continue to do so. Well sized menu to ensure there is something to satisfy everyone's taste buds.
The food was very devine and the view from the restaurant on the skyline of canary warf was amazing. Especially the waiter called Nas served our food and made us feel very welcomed. He really hosted an unforgettable night for us! Big reccomendation!
If you love authentic italian food, this is the place where you can find it! Everything was delicious and proper italian. Staff was very helpful and very polite! It was a nice experience for us and we will definitely continue coming here!
Came for our anniversary, which was a very special one. When we reserved, they asked what was the occasion and when we told them, they not only offered a complimentary tiramisu but a pannecota for the children. Lovely hearty portions and very hospitable and friendly people.
Ive never had a experience in a restaurant like I had in Bella cosa. The food was amazing, we were helped by Helena and Doni. Very gentle, helpful and committed to make a real connection with us. I would highly recommend this place. Only negative point was that we were sited close to the entrance so was a bit cold, but not a big deal.
We had a fantastic lunch at Bella Cosa in Canary Wharf. The food was genuinely delicious, with bold flavours and high-quality, authentic ingredients. At times, if we closed our eyes, we could have sworn we were in Italy. We ordered the aubergine parmigiana and Italian focaccia as starters, followed with a carbonara and creamy truffle cacio e pepe, and then as mains got ribeye steak with asparagus and salmon, and we wrapped it up with a tiramisu and a cheesecake. Every single dish was excellent!! Portions are generous (proper Italian size, not typical London portions!), and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant itself is warm, welcoming, and beautifully done, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a proper meal. Service was also outstanding, Helena took wonderful care of us, gave great recommendations, and made us feel truly welcome throughout. We couldn’t recommend Bella Cosa more.
Bellissima! This is a hidden gem in Canary Wharf! Byfar the best Italian restaurant I've been too! The atmosphere was lovely, the food was too die for. The chefs were stellar and the tiramisu...Good God, the tiramisu was heavenly!! 😩💓 Highest compliments to the chefs and the amazing staff. I will definitely be coming back here again!!!! 💕💕💕💕
Huda was an amazing host, very kind, helpful and made a pina colada (not on the menu) for my mum as it was her birthday. Gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere!
Had a lovely meal with my family. Everything was sensational, pastas, fish, the meat! Best Italian I’ve had in London. I was surprised to see the restaurant quite empty, this restaurant needs to be on everyone’s list! Price was amazing. We were served by Jimmy, amazing service. We even got a complimentary tiramisu which ended our experience with a huge smile! Thank you Jimmy and the Bella Cosa team!!!!
It was our second time in Bella Cosa, this time to celebrate my birthday. An amazing experience and exceptional food. All the dishes we ordered were delisious and flavorful. We would certainly eat them again. The place feels really cosy and the view is great. Thank you Sunil for making my day so special especially with the supprise you prepared. You couldn’t organise it better. It was all perfect. We would also like to say Big Thank You to Narcisa for looking after us the whole evening. We will definitely visit Bella Cosa again and recommend this restaurant to our friends.
AMAZING FOOD! I went to this restaurant with my mom for her birthday on 6th January and we’ve been treated like royals! The food was so delicious (loved the arancini), the red wine was carefully selected to go with the meals and the entire atmosphere of the place was very good! My mom enjoyed her birthday surprise desert - the tiramisu, which is just heaven! I liked how the staff was looking after us - Teya and Meher constantly checked the table and if we enjoy. The best local place for any celebrations and/or casual dining, yet with very nice view of the harbour and Canary Wharf. Will definitely come again! Thanks for your efforts
It was a great experience at Bella Cosa. We were so delighted to have such amazing food and the dessert was just mouth watering. On top of that their service was exceptionally amazing. Especially, thanks to Jimmy for treating us so well. I can’t recommend this place enough. Next time when we visit London, we will surely go there again both for their food and service..
The best Italian restaurant in Canary Wharf, great taste and services. Surprisingly there aren’t many customers when we visit. The floor manager Sergio is super friendly and nice. Location is very nice as it’s literally 2meter away from the dock water. Will visit again.
Hidden gem in Canary Wharf. We came here for a birthday dinner and the staff is so friendly and polite. The food is so good, much tasty than many famous Italian restaurants in London. We tried swordfish carpaccio with orange and apple for Starter. It is actually raw fish, if you eat only the swordfish, it tastes literally like raw fish with bad smell, but if you eat with the salad, orange and apple, the smell disappears. Very good and interesting experience, do try to feel it yourself. For meat and fish, we chose Scallop with wild mushroom celeriac mash and it is amazing. For Pasta, we chose Tagliatelle Beef served with baby tomatoes and demi-glace sauce, and Linguine Frutti Di Mare, which is pasta with mixed sea food, prawns, mussels, clams & calamari. Both of them are so good and the portion is not very huge so that you won’t feel too full. For dessert, tiramisu is a must to try! When I booked the reservation, I mentioned “birthday dinner” but sadly they forgot to write “happy birthday” on the tiramisu plate. A bit sad but the staffs are so nice to us so I have nothing to complain. The view is also great and romantic with Canary Wharf and super cruise view, definitely good for a romantic dinner. I highly recommend!
The food was so good! I had the truffle pasta which was absolutely delicious. I also recommend the quatro formaggi and pepperoni pizza, so good! My friend also had the salmon pasta, so good too! And the Tiramisu as a finisher just hits the spot. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend!!
Very good restaurant. Almost everything was perfect, but unfortunately the person who attended my table had an unbearable smell of sweat. I couldn't stand the smell, it was so strong. I advise the restaurant to instruct its employees to use deodorant. After all, hygiene is not just about cleaning the restaurant and handling food. Hygiene is part of the person and their care as well. For this reason, I almost made me give up and leave and only gave two stars in the service requirement. I hope that if one day I return that it won't happen again, because it was and is very unpleasant.
Located in Canary Wharf, on the river Bank. This small but inviting italian restaurant awaits your tastebuds. The service is A1. From stepping in, to walking out. Our hostess was on target and polite. Never intrusive but always attentive. The food was sublime. You couldn't fault anything, from starter to dessert. I cannot wait to visit again.
I had a great dining experience at Bella Cosa, a hidden gem in Canary Wharf. The night-time ambience is amazing. The penne al pollo and tiramisu were delicious, and our waiter, Donny, was super attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
Recently we have visited Bella Cosa and had an amazing time! Many thanks to the floor manager, lovely spanish looking lady (who is not Spanish haha) who managed to accommodate us on Saturday night without reservation! Staff was very friendly and professional, food - both presentation and taste wise, was mind blowing ! Thank you very much and we will be coming again !
Went by myself for a quick dinner after a very long gym session then it turned into an amazing night for a foodie like me! I ordered the swordfish carpaccio which was a bit icy to my taste. Told the Manger in a casual way who came to ask how I liked the food. He went to tell the kitchen and recommended I try the Cod Croquettes, and he was right! As shown in the picture, those croquettes were beautifully cooked until the outside is golden and crispy, and the inside is soft and sweet. Well balanced. For the main I ordered the seafood linguine and it is the best linguine I had tried in UK so far. The prawns, the mussles, the squids were very fresh and the texture of the spaghetti was cooked to perfection, with the source to die for. I had literally finished everything in the plates for the starter and the main, including the source, with a glass of Prosecco which also tasted nice. Then the lady who made me the Old Fassion which is not on the menu came to offer dessert so I asked for Tiramisu, as everyone else did. The portion was huge and despite I was so full up, I still finished it. Then the bill came with a 15% discount! The manager explained that was because I didn't like the swordfish carpaccio. What a nice gesture! The location is next to the Thames so there is nice river view as well. But for me, even if we only talk about service and the food, this is easily the best Intalian Restaurant in Canary Wharf. Highly recommended!
Great service and delicious food! The dessert was slightly overcooked so they offered us a free coffee, I’m really pleased with how they managed it. Update one year later Oct 2020: I've had the best saffron risotto ever and I'm very pleased with the environment, nothing seemed to change except for the Indian restaurant on the top floor.
The food here was delicious. It was fresh and very clean. We had the calamari and the aubergine starters, oven roasted salmon with vegetables, and roasted chicken with vegetables. For dessert we shared a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice-cream. The quality of the food was very good. Also the portions were huge. The didn't compromise on the quality because of the size. Our restaurant manager, Donny was amazing. He was not only very complimentary and friendly, he was attentive and helpful. Excellent customer service. The venue was also very lovely. Definitely worth a visit for really good Italian food. We'll be back for sure.
Ketia and Helena are the most warmest professional sweet and to be honest sincerely uplifting staff I seen in ages I’ve had a wonderful evening here and recommend this place just for their vibes ! Best wishes, Kohen
Came here for dinner with my family. Food quality and portion size were good. We all enjoyed the food. There was only 1 waiter serving the whole restaurant and sadly, he did not seem too welcoming. He was on the phone talking for a long while and we had to wait for him to finish before we can pay the bill.
Went to eat at Bella Cosa with some friends. The service and waiter was really friendly and accommodating, the food was good, however it was on the pricier side and the wait was unfortunately long aswell . We decided to go for the Sunday roast, however it was not a traditional English style Sunday roast as they don't provide Yorkshire pudding and have baby potatoes instead roast potatoes. However saying that the food was tasty and the Tiramisu was excellent. The waiter was very kind and knocked off 20 percent off the bill as an apology for the long wait which was highly appreciated by us 😁👌🏾. I will definitely come back to try the Italian dishes there, as that is their main cuisine 😁
I have come here several times with my family. the location is excellent, the structure of the restaurant is also excellent, which allows a beautiful view from the very large windows. I would define the food as very good, the pasta is fresh and it seems they do everything at the moment. The pizza is Roman style and is really delicious. the only down side is the service , every time i went i got the same waiter and he didn't seem to want to work . he wants everything immediately and seems to rush too . I highly recommend this place but be careful not to go there a few hours before the classic closing of the kitchen 😅
Good and Authentic Great atmosphere, lovely view of the riverside. Food was good. Lasagne and Calamari were decent standard. The four cheese pizza was stronger than I am used to but still tasted good none the less. A little pricey even as I got the lunch offer (meal + drink for 10.50). I wouldn't mind going again, the setting is very romantic and ideal for a date but also works for large groups. Would recommend.
Very nice restaurant, lovely location and vibe. but pasta doesn’t feel freshly made like chains such as Vapiano. Lack the bite/ chewiness fresh pasta would have. Staff was attentive and friendly tho. Might try pizza next time.
Overall 3.5/5 Lovely place in Canary Wharf. Service is really good and the manager clearly looked after all the guests. The porcini in the smoked salmon and cavier bruschetta lacked flavour and depth but the truffle arancini was amazing! The mains, which was swordfish was not to my liking but my wife enjoyed it. The seafood risotto was lovely but loaded with butter. The tiramisu was yummy and portion size could feed 4 people! Pina cotta was delicious! Apologies for the bad lighting in the photos!
The food, ambience and value for money are all top-notch. Their tiramisu was particularly delicious. We managed to snag a table on Valentine’s Day for walk-ins without any waiting – a real surprise. However, it’s not authentic Italian. If you’re after a refined Italian experience this isn’t the place. The service could also be improved.
I've ordered from here twice now and whilst the food both times has been lovely- the portion sizes of the pasta compared to the price has been extremely disappointing. I ordered tagliatelle first and was underwhelmed with the size and wanted to give it another go and went for the tortellini and as you can see there wasn't much there. Nice food but unfortunately won't be ordering again.
The service was worse. When we asked to explain a simple dish the person didn’t explain the dish. Just mentioned it’s Pasta. When we asked for mocktails available, the person was not able to tell about it. Food was ok, but our special lunch went in drain. We asked for high chair and that too was not available in the restaurant.
An absolute rip off sadly! Should have known better - came recommended in Halal Food Guys blog. He's the worst food critic on halal food! His credibility has certainly declined over time, after he's recommended places that are very clearly not up to par! Place was beautiful. Service was fabulous. But food was annoyingly underwhelming. I wanted it to be amazing moreso because of location, and because I was craving Italian food! Food was tasteless. Don't get me wrong, it was all VERY VERY FRESH TASTING, but healthy tasting and all tasted of tomatoes only! We ordered the Prawn starter which was terribly bland, and the aubergine starter which was the only dish that was delicious! The apollo pizza and salmon tagliatelle were begging for flavour! First time I've had to add salt, pepper and a whole load of paremesan to my food to make it taste! Service was friendly, restaurant is such a lovely spot for a cosy date night or calm chill with friends. And location is pretty! But food was a huge let down. Even more so because it's expensive! Was annoyed the bill came to about £80 for food that tasted boiled for the most part and looked a little like a tomatoey boiled mushy mess -_- see pictures for yourself -_- Annoyed. Wouldn't recommend it if food is a major factor for you! Which lets be honest, it's not a priority to dine out in this economy, so when we do, we need it to be worth it. No flavour depth at all. Dissapointed and felt a bit cheated on cost as a result. And for a cold evening, it was cold in the restaurant. Food came out hot, but got cold very quickly! And for a Thursday night and only a few diners, service was VERY SLOW!
Starters were pleasant, not out of this world but nice. Much to my surprise the mains were a bit of a shocker. Beef lasagne was crispy and stale around all the edges, basically felt a week old. The lamb chops were tough as nails, whilst I asked for Medium to well cooked they were done Well. The pizza was the worst part - I've never felt this was for pizza cos I love the stuff! The chicken on the pizza tasted burnt bit didn't look it. I can appreciate something 'smoked' but this was smoked over a few years it seems. I don't like writing reviews that aren't nice but honesty goes a long way and I'd never have gone to Bella Cosa had someone done the same. I mean I did get a 20% off as I mentioned the HalalGuy or whatever (promotion) but he won't be having me follow him anymore. Terrible critic
Overpriced, not good service, not good food. I was there with 3 of my Italian friends. We were unhappy for the service and overall the food we received for the price we paid. We wanted to take our time to order, but the waitress were standing there and it was very awkward for us. We clearly told them that we are taking our time. It was very uncomfortable and awkward. It was not busy during that time of the day, so we did not even understand what was the rush? And the food took ages to arrive as well. The waitress did not even gave us the correct information when asked. We wanted to share some antipasto and we kindly asked the portion of Arancini we would have, the lady said 2, so we ordered 2 as we were 4. However she did not tell us that they would be cut in half (so we had 8 halves of arancini, which was very annoying because we wanted to take something else as well). The waitress should give the right information correctly. However, the food was not that great either for that price. The portions were okay. There was no bread, no extra cheese or olive oil. Was it even Italian this restaurant? We were there after reading all the good reviews, but it is so overrated. We have been in much better Italian places and payed less. All of us had high hopes for this place after reading other reviews and having a look through their website, but very disappointing. Never going back.
Ordered from here yesterday. Me and my daughter got food poisoning from the tagliatelle. Tasted off and only had a few bites of it but we have been throwing up all day. Avoid.
