Bistro Aix

This bistrot should be officially declared French territory. We tried two different starters, the smoked duck salad and the speck salad, both of which were spectacular. Our mains, that followed managed to live up to the starters. The steak was cooked to perfection while the venison loin was a firework of a complex combination of flavours. Finally, the raspberry crème brûlée was the perfect ending to our lovely meal. A twist to a classic that I never knew I needed in my life.

I chose the 3 courses for £29 - there was only 1 option per course, but things I would have chosen anyway. Starter- goats cheese soufflé Main - sea bass and potato Dessert - cream and fruit flaky pastry The staff were attentive and great, and atmosphere was good and the company amazing!

I returned to my new favourite French restaurant and they've blown me away again. The menu has changed and really feels summery, the room is atmospheric as ever, the staff remembered me! I can't think of a better place to feel like I'm back in France, thank you Bistro Aix. This is the perfect romantic date spot ✨

Aix is superb — the food, the service, and the atmosphere are all truly excellent. And consistently so. It’s a real pleasure to have such an exceptional restaurant in the neighbourhood — a true culinary jewel.

Best French restaurant in the area. Duck à l'orange highly recommended. The large salads are good as well. And the tarte tatin dessert is flambeed at the table with calvados. Prices are good for the quality of food. Many of the wines come in carafes. Romantic, classy atmosphere with the perfect amount of Parisian edge.

Delicious food and wonderful service. Nothing was too much trouble and my dairy allergy was easily catered for with no fuss. All five of us ordered something different and we all loved what we had. Highly recommended

I’ve been meaning to write a review of this wonderful local gem for a while. Authentic french cuisine, great service and really reasonable prices given the high quality. We’ll keep coming back!

Love this restaurant. Relaxing atmosphere and fantastic food. The cheese soufflé and the chocolate fondant are my favourite!

We had the pleasure of being served by Anna who was polite, patient and very helpful. Our meals were perfectly cooked, prepared and presented - we ordered the Aubergine, Lentils and Goats Cheese salad which was a MUST, the flavours were fantastic! We also ordered the Duck and Lamb which were tasty and a good portion. To end we tried the homemade ice cream which was the perfect way to end the meal. Overall such a wonderful experience and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you to Anna and the team at Bistrot AIX!

Ana and Bennet were truly wonderful hosts. It was a quiet evening and so we managed to get the Sunday Roast even though it was past 4pm. Usual serving hours are until 4pm on Sunday for the roast. The gravy was incredible, the meat was juicy and so tasty. Vegetable were great and the perfect amount of eveything on one plate. I would say perhaps the only slight disappointment was the yorkshire pudding, which could've been a little softer and more puddingy as it was super crispy. All three of us loved our food - we had lamb and chicken roast and the duck a l'orange. Highly recommend.

A delightfully enchanting restaurant, the ambience and music and food transports you straight to the heart of France. The charming decor and warm lighting creates a sense of elegance and the lovely staff elevates it further, and you’re sure to feel well-cared for. The scallops were a revelation, the wine selection is extensive and well-curated, and the desserts will make you drool. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!

Top Notch French food. Ana the front of house is charming and attentive. If you want to be transported to a small part of France in north London then I can’t recommend this restaurant more!

Fantastic food and friendly staff. The iberico pork and gratin dauphinois were the best I have ever had. Desserts and wine were also excellent. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely dinner at Bisto Aix on a quiet Sunday evening. As soon as we walked in we knew we were in a special place - the atmosphere is so welcoming and cosy. The food was delicious, especially the two salads we ordered. The duck breast was also perfect, I highly recommend it. And don't get me started on the crème brulee...The staff were extremely welcoming, we felt like we were old friends who had come round for dinner. Overall an absolute gem of a restaurant.

I have been to Bistro Aix a few times over the last few weeks with various friends and relatives and each visit has been wonderful. Very lucky to have such lovely French food on my doorstep which transports you to France, coupled with very friendly and helpful staff who clearly care about what they do and the service they provide for their customers. Definitely worth a visit!

Unbelievable authentic meal at Bistro Aix. It was my first time here and was blown away by the food. We had a huge selection of starters, mains and dessert and could not fault it. Our waiter Joe was brilliant, very well informed and gave us great descriptions/background on the food. Crouch end gem!

Superb service from Wagner and Iva! Most thoughtful. The food was fantastic too. We had the onion soup, pan fried foie gras, and the bone marrow to start. For our mains, the duck breast and the beef bourguinon. Classic flavours and good portions! We will be returning soon

I celebrated my birthday at Bistro Aix and it honestly couldn’t have been better. The place had such a nice and cozy atmosphere with warm lighting, good music, and a really friendly stuff. Particularly George and Sasha were so kind and welcoming . They made the evening unforgettable! The food was fantastic! Every dish was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Thank you for this perfect evening to the lovely team. The food, atmosphere, and staff all came together to make my birthday dinner something I’ll never forget. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and wonderful service.

Excellent EVERYTHING! I had an amazing night out with my husband. Particularly LOVED the pan seared foie gras. We will definitely come back soon. Lovely Wagner and Iva were very welcoming and wonderful.

My fave Bistro in north London. Convivial and cosy. A real treat. Service is subtly attentive and food delish. Great for a group booking too in the back of the restaurant.

This place deserves its success! Not least for the food, which is of a standard of quality and presentation rarely found, but also because of the wonderfully attentive and confidence inspiring service. They make a real effort to be welcoming and informative and the atmosphere and decor match their care. We will definitely return. So good!

My date and I had an amazing time tonight. The service provided by both Ana and Wager was exceptional, the ambiance was inviting / cozy and the food was delicious - we ordered roast dinners chicken and lamb with desserts crème brûlée and apple Tarte and ice cream. My date is a self proclaimed fussy eater, but I heard ummm… several times. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend visiting Bistro Aix.

Christmas lunch 2025 - couldnt fault a thing. Lovely atmosphere, amazing food & great portion sizes. Service was excellent & meals served on time. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today - My wife had the belly of pork and I had the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. Great service and a lovely little restaurant.

We had a thoroughly wonderful evening; the food was absolutely delicious, the ambience was wonderful and the staff (especially Sasha and Wagner) were very friendly, knowledgable and professional. We could quite have happily stayed there all night, but unfortunately our table was booked for later in the evening!

Wow! Aix is somewhere I used to come frequently when they first opened in 2002 having moved back to the area recently I have been twice & the food is as exceptional as it was before, it very rare for a restaurant to remain consistent for so many years… bravo 👏🏼 Ana & Wagner were incredible & made sure our party was had everything they needed, nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal on Sunday evening at Aix in Crouch End - good value Sunday roasts plus reasonable à la carte menu. Delightful service, in particular Eva, who looked after us beautifully.

The restaurant used to be a culinary Colossus of the area. Back in the day it served beef Rossini and ossobuco. These are sadly no longer on the menu. Instead I had the fish soup (a bit underwhelming and could be warmer) and a fish (good). Would still return .... The decor needs a bit of an update after all these years...

Pretty good and not bad food. Starter was excellent salary well presented. Turkey main was fairly average. Somehow came out thinking it was quiet expensive for what we had, only one drinking wine and £90. Overall good and not a bad meal but may be a little expensive for the food served.

Food was ok. Not special but not bad either. Ordered the duck and it was a little chewy. And pavlovs wasn’t special. But it was still good food. Service was a little slow
