What a great meal!! Service was amazing, all of the staff were super friendly and chatty and very knowledgeable. They recommended a lot of dishes and they were all great. We enjoyed everything we ordered, the Labneh was incredible. So delicious. I want to go back to try everything else on the menu. It’s really worth getting a reservation if you can. The downstairs dining room was great, a bit dark but a really cool and laidback vibe

My partner and I visited yesterday and were served at the bar counter by Lou. She and her colleagues were enthusiastic and very friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant perfectly matched the mood and the menu they offer. We had such a beautiful experience. The people were wonderful, and the food was masterfully made and full of flavor. Wishing you all the best. It’s s always amazing to see people in this industry put their heart into what they do!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! I did the set menu and each dish was delightful - I was absolutely stuffed. Service was also fantastic and speedy, they even did something special for my birthday. I really recommend the baklava for dessert, it’s out of this world. Only thing is I didn’t realize the “solo diner” set menu would have less items than if two people ordered it. Makes complete sense because I was very full by the end but I do wish it had been communicated. I spent way too long waiting for my halloumi before I realized :(

Incredible vegetarian restaurant in Soho. Most dishes are vegan, vegetarian ones are clearly labeled. We tried the burnt butter hummus, baba ganoush, flatbread, honey and chamomile halloumi, oyster mushrooms, and falafel, all of which were super aromatic and fresh, and beautifully presented. The kiwi, rose and sage mocktail was yummi and gorgeous too. Will definitely come back!

A very small and pricey restaurant with a focus on the food and flavour. Unafraid to be creative and experiment to create a more flavoursome and bold take on traditional middle eastern dishes. A formidable example of how good vegan food can be by using fresh ingredients and focus on flavour. I was particularly impressed with the baba ghanoush and the kumquat sparkling drink. Less impressed with the potato and cauliflower. Service was friendly but busy, and I surprisingly enjoyed the very open kitchen, despite it being very bright. The restaurant itself could be more spacious, decorated and bright. But this gives the impression the focus is on the food. Just don't come with a large group.

Lively, innovative vegetarian and vegan restaurant (self-described as “inauthentic middle eastern”) in the heart of SoHo. Couldn’t get an online booking for 1, but when I tried my luck on opening, they were quick to get me a table. Ordered the tasting menu, got a blitz of beautiful, memorable flavours. Standouts were the falafel, bright green with coriander and parsley; the freshly made bread with hummus and baba ganoush dips; the smokey mushroom skewers; a crisp, crisp, crisp latke cake with yoghurt sauce; and a delicious endive salad with orange grapefruit and miso dressing. Friendly, informative service, much recommended.

Had dinner here for my last night in London. 10/10 experience. Be sure to get the Prix Fix menu so you can try it all

The food and service were really good. The space was a bit tight on the bar but not bad at all.

Okay, so let's get one thing straight: this is most definitely not just another vegetarian/vegan restaurant. This place takes things to a whole different level, from the food to the wines and the service. A family birthday meal here was absolutely superb. We chose the 'Bubala Knows Best' menu option, and my goodness don't they just know how to put together an amazing meal of small plates. The orange wine to accompany the meal was pricey but so worth it. I will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our lunch here, the food was delicious, fresh and unique. You could taste the quality and invention. Such amazing vegetarian food. It definitely is expensive but such a nice treat! The staff were so friendly, especially the two Scottish waitresses!

This has been on the bucket list for a while however tables tend to be booked up in advance and NOW I truly understand why!! The food was delicious, for someone who isn’t vegan or veggie, I loved every single dish. Alexander was the sweetest and kindest soul. He provided the best recommendations for both food and drinks, and checked up on us a number of times. I have already planned to come here again in a few months with friends, and recommend this to a few others. Those who haven’t been - GO! You won’t be disappointed!

I have to say this has got to be one of the best vegetarian restaurants I have been to. The food was amazing especially the halloumi, confit potato latkes, baba ganoush, lafa flatbreads. The service was very good and our waitress was super friendly and explained what some of the dishes were. Although on the slightly high price range, this place serves fresh quality food. The atmosphere between 12pm and 3pm was very buzzing and lively. Clearly a popular place for a reason. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

This is the second time we have been to Bubala, and our first time at the Soho location - and we were not disappointed! The food was just as delicious as last time, the vibe and atmosphere is very cosy and romantic and the staff are so friendly. The flatbread is honestly the best I’ve ever had, and the smacked cucumbers are to die for! Highly recommend the Bubala Knows Best menu, which offers you some of their best dishes for a reasonable set price.

Gorgeous gorgeous vegetarian and vegan meal. First time here and I can't fault it. The service was warm, attentive and friendly, nothing was too much. I wish I had made a note of the 3 people who served us, I think one was the manager. They were so helpful about the 'Bubala knows best' set menu and accommodating with a vegan and vegetarian mix for the 3 of us. The food is incredibly tasty. We all loved it. Each dish tastes different and I couldn't choose a favourite. The mango and chilli drink is delicious. I can't wait to go back and a cookbook is coming out in October!

When I say this is the ONLY meal I captured on my 10-day trip to London!!! Let this speak VOLUMES about this spot — it’s my very favourite restaurant in LDN and I’m not even veggie/vegan! 🤯🤯🤯 Bubala is giving organic/healthy meets sexy/sultry and I am positively OBSESSED! ❤️‍🔥 • LOCATION:📍Soho (they also have locations in King’s Cross and their OG spot in Spitalfields!) • DISH OF THE DAY: without a single doubt the baba ganoush - we were salivating over the rich depth of flavour 🤤 Special mention also has to be made for the smacked cucumbers - wow! 🥒 • FLAVOUR: 12/10 - foodie witchcraft. Outstanding flavours! Creative, unique, moreish x1000 🔥 • PRESENTATION: 10/10 - beautiful, and authentic feeling! Perfect for sharing • VALUE FOR MONEY: the set/tasting menu can feel a little pricey but if there are just 2 of you I think it’s worth it. For £33/pp for 5 of us, including wine, we were stoked (and very full!) • SERVICE: 8.5/10 - our waitress was very sweet! Food came at the perfect pace • VIBES: 8.5/10 - it’s moody and earthy which feels so on-brand! Both their Spitalfields and Soho locations do feel a bit cramped but that’s just London buildings for ya! • GOOGLE RATING: 4.6 - could even see this being higher 👀 • BEST FOR: Middle Eastern food, sharing plates, veggies/vegans, flavour-packed dishes • WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO A FOODIE FRIEND? Came as a solo diner and the experience was amazing. Had the set vegetarian menu and everything was delicious, come hungry as there was alot of food! The food arrives quickly and fresh, the salad and the Laffa were highlights for me. :) The staff are what really make it, super friendly and obviously care alot about what they do. As a solo diner they made me feel incredibly welcome! Thank you! ♡

YOU HAVE TO VISIT. Walked past this place on a Saturday afternoon but realized we needed reservations so we came back in a week and thank god we did because I celebrated my birthday here! This was my fav meal in London and I cannot explain how happy it made me. The burnt butter hummus was a staff recco to us and I'm so glad we took it because wow. Get the burnt butter hummus and the laffa bread. You won't regret it. It sent me to a different plane. My friend and I relished the silkiest hummus of our life with the most magical butter. I still dream about it. We were quite full from it somehow but ordered a few more dishes. The potato latkes were really amazing as well. Something about the ambience is so cozy and intimate while being so upscale. The service was quite nice as well. All in all highly recommend! (esp if you're vegan or vegetarian) Cannot wait to go back and try more!

10/10 dining experience. i had been to the bubula in spitalfields and was happy to stumble upon the soho location. the brussel sprouts were insane. so were the smashed cucumbers. halloumi and latkas were also fantastic. their pomegranate sour is not to be missed. inspired to get the cookbook!

5 star for me ! My bestie decided to take me to this restaurant because it’s his favourite. I had no idea what to expect but now I can’t stop thinking about their dishes . To be honest we wanted to try as much as we can and didn’t took any main but instead many side dishes and we were not disappointed! Tha flavours ! Everything I tried was top tier and now I can’t stop thinking about it and plan to visit soon again . Forgot to take pictures from the rest of the side dishes but we tried like 10 different ones and every one was top 🔝.

Great for gluten free/ coeliacs. Checked about allergies and made sure dishes were safe. Crudités instead of pitta but our server said some people take their own gf bread. Really delicious. Amazing food. Mushrooms and baba ganoush particularly.

This restaurant is the highlight of our trip! I never imagine vegetarian food can be THAT delicious, being a vegetarian myself. The chefs here are magicians and they turn normal, seemingly basic dishes into culinary wonders! This is a place you go to with your special someone, or dear friends who truly appreciate good food. We opted for the A la Carte to choose what we like instead of the set menu. The Burnt Butter Hummus was out of this world - smooth, creamy, and oh the fragrant… The Grapefruit Ezme was a symphony of flavours and Mushroom Skewers were smoky and juicy. Atmosphere was cozy, nice and relaxing. We came at 3pm and by the time our dessert came out, we were sitting among staff members who were sharing their end-of-shift meal. You can tell by the dynamic that happy people make great food! Definitely a must-try if you are lucky to secure a spot! Can’t wait to come back and in the meantime, I am still craving that hummus…

I visited Bubala Soho over a weekend in June, and it was a fantastic dining experience. We chose the restaurant for its strong selection of vegetarian and vegan options, and it definitely delivered. Although we arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation, we were promptly seated without any issues. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, taking the time to explain the concept and menu, which we really appreciated. We opted for the vegan set menu, and by the end of the meal, we were more than happy with our choice. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Highlights for me were the babaganoush, which was smoky and rich, and the grilled oyster mushrooms, which had an amazing texture and depth of taste. Overall, a warm and satisfying experience—perfect for anyone looking to enjoy creative, plant-based Middle Eastern dishes in the heart of Soho. Highly recommended!

Visited Bubala yesterday and had such a lovely experience! We went all in with a spread of dips, a few mains, and a dessert — and honestly, it’s such a fantastic spot for vibrant, flavour-packed vegetarian food. The only dish I didn’t love was the Oyster Mushrooms (a bit salty and on the smaller side), but everything else was spot on. Highly recommend trying all the dips with their bread — you won’t regret it!

Bubala in Soho is an absolute gem — From start to finish, everything about our visit was exceptional. You’ll definitely need to book in advance, as it was packed when we left. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour and beautifully executed. The menu is entirely vegetarian, with plenty of vegan options. Each plate bursts with Middle Eastern-inspired spices and textures that leave a lasting impression. Even committed meat-eaters will be wowed. Service was another highlight. Our waitress was incredibly warm and knowledgeable, recommending a few standout dishes that turned out to be our favourites. You really feel looked after here — it’s thoughtful hospitality paired with bold, exciting food. Whether you’re plant-based or just love good food, Bubala is a must-visit and I can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes.

Excellent food, that too vegetarian tapas! Highly recommend the burnt butter hummus, potato latkes, and the tamari mushrooms. The halloumi was overtly sweet with the honey but decent. Lovely wines, great vibe and always busy.

Absolutely fantastic vegetarian food! We ordered the labne, hummus with jalapeño oil, halloumi with honey, potatoes, Jerusalem artichoke, and ezme – and every single dish was a hit. Bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming too. Highly recommend Bubala to anyone looking for delicious vegetarian options in London – we’ll definitely be back!

Excellent vegetarian food! We absolutely loved everything we ordered, especially the flatbread with the dips – so fresh and delicious. Every dish was packed with flavor, and the attention to detail was impressive. Bubala has quickly become one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants in London. Highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment!

We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much. The service was friendly and attentive and offered good suggestions. We particularly enjoyed the potato latkes and the chocolate cremaux. Mocktails are also highly recommended. 10/10

The set menu is amazing, just come ready to EAT! I only docked one star from Atmosphere because of the heat. I realize that there are many establishments in London struggling with the heatwave and this isn't really a fault of the restaurant. Overall our experience was incredible. DON'T SKIP ON THE DIPS! They were a highlight for sure!

Phenomenal experience, fully vegetarian sample menu and outstanding service. We enjoyed every second of our dinner, getting served one spectacular plate after another. Every dish looked fantastic, with the whole menu providing a great mixture of textures and well balanced flavours. The price is absolutely unbeatable for such a high level cuisine, especially since you can order unlimited bread – which you should definitely hold back with, since the sample menu on itself leaves no wished open. Massive thanks to the whole team at Bubala Soho!

One of the best meals we’ve each ever had, incredible restaurant. It feels as though Bubala gets everything right - the ambiance, service, the menu, the pacing of the dishes. You’d almost forget this is a fully vegetarian spot. The dips are absolutely incredible and generously portioned - we had labneh, hummus, and baba ghanoush. The pitta is one of the fluffiest, tastiest breads I’ve ever had - would recommend that over the flatbread. The hot honey halloumi with chamomile was so unique too and the crispy potatoes just fantastic. I’ve been here twice so far and would 100% return on a trip to London.

Bubala had both ala carte and a tasting menu, we chose the ala carte as we were a big group and wanted to try a few different options. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious right from hummus to halloumi. This place is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys vegetarian food.

An absolute gem of a place, the latkes nearly made me cry with joy!!! I visited for the first time with a best mate on a trip to London. This was a repeat visit for her and this won't be my last!!! We had the veggie lunch set menu.....divine! My highlights were the Halloumi , the latkes ( im northern so I rate a good spud dish) and the smacked cucumbers!!! I could have lay in a bath of that hummus with burnt butter!!! There wasn't a anything I tried that didnt do a little dance in my mouth. The service was really great and try the cocktails!!! Delicious!!!

R

This place never disappoints, and they’ve sensibly reduced the size and (and price) of the set lunch menu - the dishes on both the vegan and vegetarian options are incredible, but there was always too much food (especially when you factor in the unlimited flatbread!). Now it’s just right and the service here is always exemplary - super-friendly, chilled, knowledgeable and passionate. Love it here.

Five stars but... I would tell you more about the dishes we had, but as it was so dark that I couldn't read the menu, much of the time I didn't know what I was eating (others did the ordering and I just went along with it). You know, if you're hell bent on making it so dark, how about you put a reading light on the table? Or at least a torch? Is that too much to ask? Ordinarily that would be a one star deduction; but this place is extremely good. The dishes are tapas-sized so we had a dozen of them between four of us. I can tell you that the baba ganoush is excellent, and there was a bowl of delicious pickles. The oyster mushroom skewers were excellent. Pretty much every dish - whatever they might have been - was very good. Service was very friendly but a bit chaotic (they were very busy). A couple of time we got a wrong dish (I was told), but the basic message was, Ah Well, Enjoy - so they were free of charge and the correct dish turned up in due course. Not cheap, but it is central London and you get what you pay for.

One of the best meals i have ever had in london. The service was incredible — Louis truly made our night special. He took the time to explain all the drinks and menu items. We trusted him to order for us, every single dish was perfect, and we got to try most items from the menu. The carrots with sambal, mushrooms skewers, and babaganouche were definite highlights but everything was delicious. The orange wine was fantastic too. We will absolutely be back. Thank you so much!

Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere AND fantastic company? Bubala has it ALL. Not only was this the best restaurant experience we have ever had, discussing at our table that while the food we had in Florence over the summer was great, this took the top spot. We've never been so sad to watch a dip be taken away than we were with the remains of our burnt butter hummus and our labneh. Absolutely the star of the meal, with the halloumi and potato latkes being a very close second and third. An exceptional highlight was our server, Charlotte. Amazing service, and incredible post-meal company. She is FANTASTIC. 10/10, definitely coming back

I couldn't speak higher of this restaurant if I tried, and it's one of our absolute favourites in London. We are semi regulars here, and tonight we made a mistake in our theatre show timings, meaning we had to halt our set menu half way through and make a dash for the theatre. Not only were they incredibly kind and charged us only for what we ate, they gifted us the drinks as a birthday present and helped us quickly get ready to run for the show. I am continually blown away by their service, and well, the food is unbelievable. Best babaganoush in London. Already can't wait to be back for the rest of our set menu, you truly can't go wrong here. Thank you so much team Bubala, you made a birthday disaster into something we feel so grateful for. Huge shout out to the bar team and manager on tonight for being just utterly wonderful.

Two of us ate here yesterday. I'm vegan & my friend is vegetarian but we chose vegan dishes so we could share everything. Some of the dishes were outstanding like the baba ganoush, the falafels and the dolma, but a few definitely missed the mark. The pickles plate, at £5.00, was a few bits of cucumber, turnip & aubergine and not worth the money in my opinion. The second dish that we wouldn't order again was the oak leaf salad at £8.50. It was a small portion and mostly lettuce with a few bits of onion and a tasty dressing but not worth the price. I'd definitely go back to try more of the vegan options on the menu. However, the vegan dessert choices were uninspiring so we headed off to Cream Dreams for delicious vegan pastries. A great way to end the meal 😋

We ended up here because our original venue was full, but what a happy surprise. The food is fantastic and even my dining partner who is non veg was highly impressed by the food. Order all the breads and all the dips. The pumpkin and the halloumi dishes were amazing.

A fully vegetarian and vegan restaurant where you don't miss meat at all! The dishes were inventive and so tasty. Special shout out to the flatbreads, mango hummus, grapefruit ezme and oyster mushroom skewers. These were all really delicious! I would skip the batata harra but honestly this was the only dish we didn't love. One issue to highlight is that the restaurant is very small and so there is nowhere to wait if you are a little bit early for your table. We arrived 10 minutes early and were asked to come back and the restaurant felt quite cramped. One of our party had been to the spitalfields branch a few months before and had been rushed through their meal after arriving 5 minutes late so it seems you need to arrive exactly on time. I only mention this because it does affect the overall restaurant experience and it is nice to feel relaxed and welcome when dining out. The bill was very reasonable considering the quality of the food we were served. Overall would recommend.

Centrally located, pure vegetarian and awesome flavours. It’s my second visit to Bubala, years back I had gone to Spitalfields one. I found menu here much delectable and awesome- Baba ganoush & hummus were so very creamy and flavourful. The best dish of the evening we had ordered was Brussel sprouts, Kalamata olive fattoush & chestnut tahini- outstandingly amazing. I will come back for their bubala knows best menu someday. Prices are on higher side if I see in terms of the portion size and in terms of ambience, but they did deliver in terms of food & flavours. Nicole served us well and gave us good recommendations despite it being busy time of the year. It was fully packed place so we got table downstairs in basement, I was very cautious on staircase despite it having anti slip rubber flooring (I guess) and floor even at dining area is not great feel as it was the same rubber flooring used in gyms.

All vegetarian Bubala Soho is a standout for bold, creative flavors. The dips are outstanding, rich, vibrant, and perfect for sharing, especially paired with their warm, fluffy flatbreads. Each dish feels imaginative and thoughtfully composed, turning familiar ingredients into exciting plates that surprise and delight. Very busy so booking in advance is a good idea.

Went for the Vegan lunch menu. Staff very helpful in explaining the options available. Bottle of still or sparkling water is free and so is the delicious warm flatbread which is lightly buttered and sprinkled with rock salt. Everything on the menu is suitable for vegetarians and they also have a vegan menu. The houmous was just so silky smooth and amazing especially when eaten with the flatbread. Every dish we had was just perfectly balanced, I enjoyed the halloumi with cranberry, never seen this combination and was sure if it would work but it did. I wasnt too keen on the salad as it wasnt really a mixture so would suggest if it can be swapped with another dish. I would definitely visit again.

Came as soon as it opened on a weekday evening so we were lucky to be seated at the bar without a reservation. The service was excellent and the food was great too but nothing show stopping. The pita and laffa bread with hummus and baba ganoush were delicious and worth a visit just for that! We also tried the aubergine and peppers dishes and they didn’t taste bad but wasn’t really impressed…feels like they went for creativity over taste! Special mention to the lemon and fennel drink which was amazing and super refreshing! Nonetheless, will be back just for the bread and dips 🤭

H

Delicious food, flavoured and wholesome small plates. Great to share and try a bit of everything. The halloumi with camomille and Fennel honey is incredible. Love the menu, everything we had was really well thoughthrough, freshly made. As a vegetarian, this is heaven to see such menu ! Drinks were tasty too. Downside is the service that is rushed, unfriendly, unconsiderate. Only one menu par table, asked for another one. Waitress asked if it was our first time, it was, explain super quickly, it was loud so couldn't hear, before we could ask to repeat she was gone. Everytime she waited our table she was so quick to leave, so much that spoons or napkins will be swept of the table and unoticed nor replaced. Also Never been to a place where they give you the Bill before you ask for it and before you're finished ? Very unwelcoming, no care for the customers. Also it's too loud, really hard to hear

Second time at Bubala, first time in Soho. We’re greeted with “You have a reservation in 20min, right? So we’ll see you in 20 min.” No “sorry we don’t have space right now”. Food and drinks are awesome. Last time in another location they had problems knowing what dishes we’ve been served so they had to ask us what we still didn’t get, thought this was an occasional mishap but the same thing happened in Soho. This time it took 10 min after our last serving before someone came to ask us if we were waiting for something, after googling their menu, we found that one dish was missing, by then the kitchen was cleaning up for closing and so it took about 20 min or so to get the food. Seems like kitchen and staff are not in sync at Bubala. So, hot tip, keep a copy of the menu and tick off dishes as you get them so they don’t forget to serve you, my fault rate is at 100% off the visits right now 😄 but would still come back for food 🥘 Disclaimer: They thought we didn’t want to wait for the last dish so instead they comped 2 drinks, still charged service fee for what the drinks would’ve cost. Also added fee for planting trees without asking us 🌳

We had a really high expectation of this place given the raving reviews and lots of recommendations, especially with the vegan/veg options. We were able to get a seat without booking on a busy weekend which we were grateful. I must start from the service and need to provide the explanation of it first before I go into the food review. We were seated downstairs and there were initially two servers but later became one and sat behind the bar area at the back. The service felt very generic with very little personality and felt as though the person was not very happy or focused. They took the order and we ordered quite a few dishes (which became apparent later on) and there was no indication from the server that we ordered way too much. There was a missing tea which took a quite long time to be rectified. There were a few moments in the service where it was hard to get any attention given they were working facing behind. Later on another table asked for service charge taken out due to lack of service, and they have become quite upset and the rest of the evening felt a little off (and hence atmosphere also felt a little off). The food was great, throughout except for the natural red wine which tasted like a vinegar - really bad option. The sad point is that because of the amount of food we ordered, it became too much to enjoy towards the end and had the server did a better job suggesting the right amount we would have enjoyed the evening more.

I recently visited Bubala Soho and wanted to share an honest review. Starting with the positives: the food is very good. The flavours are interesting, well balanced, and you can tell there is real care in the cooking. I would definitely recommend going there for the food itself. However, where the experience really falls down is the service. From the moment you arrive, the service feels cold and quite impersonal. You are received and seated, but not really welcomed. During our visit, staff often looked like they couldn’t be bothered, and there was very little interaction beyond bringing plates to the table. Service felt disorganised at times, with multiple different staff members coming to the table rather than one person looking after us. There was no check-in to ask if we needed drinks, how the food was, or if we needed anything else. When leaving, there was no thank you or goodbye, which really leaves a bad final impression. The food is genuinely good and worth trying, but the service unfortunately makes the overall experience feel disappointing. I would go back for the food, but I would not go expecting good hospitality.
