This is one of the best restaurants in London! In fact I know only one restaurant that is equal to this one. I take very good friends here or people I want to impress. The food is delicious, inexpensive by London standards, and the restaurant is family run. Go here! Update: They are switching to daytime service and that means removing some seafood dishes. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor become a regular and REQUEST THAT THEY BRING BACK the seafood risotto, calamarata di mare, and lobster linguine!
Omg what a good find! The food was all so delicious. One of the best carbonara’s I’ve had! The prawn bruschetta also so good and the arancini! Restaurant could be bit more cosy maybe darker and some candles to go with the amazing food! Will defo be back.
Cosy Italian restaurant! Close to Oxford Circus and other tube stations. Good for after work meet up. Menu is limited, but me and my friends found what we wanted to order. We had calamari, some bread, olives, the octopus dish, mussles and prawn dish and layered potato with seabass. We liked the food. Service was good.
I recently visited this restaurant for a long-overdue catch-up with friends, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor—clearly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re into bold flavors or something more subtle, there’s something on the menu to suit every palate. The service was top-notch. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive, offering helpful recommendations that we all loved. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for catching up with friends. The decor strikes just the right balance between modern and cozy, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy our time together. It’s the kind of place where you can lose track of time because you’re so comfortable. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough—it’s a perfect spot for any occasion. I’ll definitely be back soon!
Really good experience! A friend of mine recommended me this place so I booked a table for 3. Cute and cosy environment. The 2 waitress were very welcoming and also the chef had a friendly approach. Even though we were a bit doubtful about what to order, Sarah, the waitress, was patiently explaining us every dish. After a little chat with her, we realised about her passion for her country, Italy. Her dedication and love for her country made us enjoy even more the delicious food. Exquisite selection of wines in the menu! I’ll definitely go again and I highly recommend this place to everyone if you love Italy as much as I love it.
Great Italian food! We book with the fork app and we had 50% off on the food. A very big up for chef Ulisse and the Italian waitress. The food was delicious and they really give us the opportunity to enjoy this experience and made everything perfect. I’ll be back for sure to try new plates! •casual look •good location and easy access •good price •good selection of wine
We had not planned to stop there, and were just inspired by the name of the place... what a good surprise!! Amazing wine, amazing service and literally rediscovered the taste of tomatoes with their Bruschettas. Simple ingredient, amazing taste. Highly recommended! Thank you guys!
It was a very pleasant dining experience. I really enjoyed the bruschetta burrata ganache.
Amazing little Italian. Chef is a complete wizz serving 12 of us without issue on the orders. Everybody really liked the food and wine selection. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Amazing!!! Best octopus i have ever had, ordered two :)
The sort of place you don’t think really exists in London anymore: a chic little restaurant, with wonderful food, great wine, down a side street that most people don't know about and you can just wander in and get a table, without having to wait or book weeks in advance, and that might not even be that busy at lunchtime so you can hang out and drink wine all afternoon, or sit outside in the sun and not get hassled by anyone or drowned out by the traffic. It’s the type of place you think you only find in Paris or Rome. Because in London anywhere remotely good usually becomes an over-crowded over-heated nightmare within a week. it immediately makes you feel relaxed AND excited to be eating out. As soon as you walk in, the manager (who is SUPER charming) and the lovely cook (in her open kitchen to the left) both make you feel like you've been going there for years. The menu is great: I particularly like the idea - instead of 'starters' - the 'small plates to share'. There are a few standards like: Rocket Salad (£5.70p) and Buffala Mozzarella (£9) but are mostly more original without being pretentious and all sound like something you want to try, like: 'Meatballs in Spicy Calabrian Ndujo' (£8.40p), ‘Crispy Pork Belly Bites Served With Chutney and Black Garlic Mayo’ (£9), and 'Bruschetta With Wild Mushrooms & Truffle (£8.40) - the most delicious piece of toast i've ever eaten. For the main courses we had: an amazing seafood risotto (£16.80, pictured) 'Calamarata Pasta with Clams and Asparagus' (15.80) and a pricey but classic 'Fritto Misto' with calamari, prawns & zucchini (20.40p). The meat-eater's choice was more limited - 'Tagliatelle with Tuscan Sausage' (£12) and irresistible 'Slow Roasted Pork with Rosemary Sweet Potato' (£16.80p). For anyone who loves Italian food, the dishes were imaginative without being over-elaborate; not too heavy; and prepared & presented by the chef and manager with real care and enthusiasm. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food means it has the vibe of a local Parisian bistro or 'casa della nonna' trattoria in Rome or Florence that once you've discovered it, you want to come back to tomorrow and every week. On top of all this, as the name suggests, the selection of wines is exceptional - so appealing that you could happily go there and just drink without even eating too. Dare of visit: 05/05/2022 Value ***** Service **** Food *****
Authentic Italian experience, amazing food and big variety of amazing wines, highly recommended and definitely will be back.
Very good wine and atmosphere. From the chair to the food all it was original Italian. I was amazed to feel like I was back in Italy. The service is very good and friendly.
Cozy place tucked in a relatively quiet street in Fitzrovia. The food was amazing. Ordered Bruschetta burrata gamberi (prawn with bacon & cheese on bread) as a starter. Portion was not that big for the price (£10) Main we ordered calamarata di mare (seafood pasta) and branzino al cartoccio (sea bass with tomatoes & olives & capers). The seafood and tomatoes were really fresh, and the sauces on each are light but intensely flavorful. We did book with an offer at 50% discount, so it was super worth it, but even without the discount I would say the mains are reasonably priced. Starter may not be worth the full price but they sure were good!
Had a delicious carbonara and potato-layered seabass. Service was excellent, atmosphere cozy.
We went for dinner twice, both week and weekend. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We have been served by a young waitress, Sarah. She was attentive and incredible sweet, we have been directed to “ parmigiana” and “bruschetta burrata & gamberi” (prawns), as starters. The latest was the most INCREDIBLE bruschetta I have ever had. A smart combination of cheese and fish served on those pretty plates. We then had ragù cannelloni and mushroom gnocchetti with an attentive selection on wine. As we were sitting in front of the open kitchen, we had a chance to talk to the chef, Ulisse (unforgettable name). He explained us how he created the menu and the finest cousin is repurposing from Italy. The employees are young and very kind, I genuinely appreciate this kind of environments. Therefore, highly recommended!!
I was looking for a local place as I was in the are, and saw the restaurant at The Fork. It was a nice surprise place. It is small restaurant in a corner. The waitress/ maitre is really friendly. The menu has many options of seafood what you don’t see much in italian places in London. We went with tomato bruschetta, the bread was so perfect. For mains the lobster linguine and the salciccia one. The salsiccia one was amazing. The flavours were perfect. Definitely a lovely place
very, very classy, intimate, pure Italian restaurant… great wine… great pasta… #fitzroy
I was there on Saturday evening and it was excellent the price was totally fine for the quality. The service was great and kind. I really have nothing bad to tell about this restaurant/ wine cellar.
This is one of the best Italian restaurants I ever try. With excellent service and quality.
An amazing dinner at this REAL Italian restaurant! Great food, even better service and cosy atmosphere
We booked a table for a company of 8 to celebrate a friends birthday here, and both the food and the service was great! Their selection of charcuteries, arancini and parmigiana was a good mix as a sharing concept, and then their pasta pomodoro and vegetarian lasagna was amazing!
If you want to taste a real homemade Italian food than this is the place for you. Go with friends and order different dishes to share - and don't miss the octopus dish and arancini. Thank you Marco and Mario, and see you soon again.
Went for dinner with a group of friends and it was very good! We tried basically the majority of their menu to share, and were impressed by the quality and the taste. Atmosphere was nice and staff very friendly.
What a find. A little bit out of the way, but MUST be searched out. Lovely people run this place. Good quality ingredients, some unusual, excellent items on the menu, and a very relaxing setting. We drank wine by the glass which was tasty and a good price. Started with Bruschetta and an aubergine dish. Both interesting and most agreeable. We both had the sea bass for the main, which was delicious. The dessert of chocolate souffle rounded the evening off in appropriate fashion. Get down there and try this place out!!
We had a great experience here. Marco was very attentive and friendly. The bruschetta with Italian sausage had a lot of flavor and the seafood pasta was fresh and of high quality.
Absolutely excellent Italian food and wine. We tried five dishes and all were excellent. Perfect pasta, amazing shellfish, deep nourishing flavours that will make your tummy happy. There is a new chef that is very passionate about his produce and making people happy with his food! Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed (one bit of feedback would be change the playlist please, very old school)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Italian restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, Marco, the manager, ensured everything was perfect with his warm welcome and attentive service. His dedication to guest satisfaction really set the tone for the evening. The culinary delights were led by Chef Lucia, whose passion for authentic Italian cuisine shone through every dish. Her innovative twists on classic recipes made for a memorable meal, with each course better than the last. The flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation impeccable. This restaurant is a true gem—whether you’re seeking a relaxed meal or a special dining occasion, I highly recommend experiencing the impeccable service and extraordinary cuisine firsthand.
We had a great experience at Fitzroy Wine Cellar, a cozy Italian restaurant. Our waiter, Daniel was attentive and friendly, and Lucia, the cook, prepared delicious food. We enjoyed the amazing Bruschetta Fitzroy, tender polpo (octopus), tasty gnocchi, and a flavorful rum cake. Everything was well-prepared and really enjoyable. Definitely a spot worth visiting for a nice Italian meal!
We absolutely loved the chef Lucia and her food. My husband and I only had take-away as we were travelling with babies, but everything was so fresh, baked with the best ingredients and as if we were having dinner in Naples at an authentic Italian restaurant. We visited the place both days that we were at the area and we would love to be back and enjoy a romantic dinner. Lasagna, pasta bolognese and the aubergine starter are the must-try-we were amazed!
Simply can't express with words how much myself and my clients enjoyed our business dinner at this cozy, intimate, extremely delicious winery and restaurant! The reviews speak for themselves, and I am glad I trusted my guts and went for an Italian authentic experience - literally one of the best Italian set menus I've seen in London ever! Service was quick and pleasant and all the expectations met and exceeded. Massive well done to Marco and the team, and thank you for making this dinner one of the best I've had in London as a local and an immigrant.
Amazing experience in this Italian restaurant located walking distance from Regent's Park or Great Portland Street tube station. I was very happy to have dinner there with friends. I found very tasty dishes with an important selection of typical Italian food and wine. Friendly staff who made our experience even better e perfect balanced price. Usually I try to avoid Italian restaurant abroad, but every time I will be in London I will come back in this cozy place
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this delightful Italian restaurant, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the tone for a memorable evening. A special shout-out goes to Marco, the manager, whose exceptional hospitality ensured that every detail of my experience was perfect. His attention to detail and genuine care for the guests made the evening all the more enjoyable. The culinary highlight of the night was undoubtedly the meal crafted by Lucia, the chef. Every dish was a testament to authentic Italian flavors—from the perfectly al dente pasta to the rich, savory sauces that left me craving more. It’s clear that passion and expertise are the secret ingredients in her kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an outstanding Italian dining experience. The combination of excellent service, a welcoming ambiance, and delectable food makes it a must-visit spot!
So happy I found this spot! Real Italian restaurant with delicious food and the best arancini I’ve ever had in London. The wine selection is great, and the cozy ambiance makes it perfect for any occasion. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine!
The Fitzroy Wine Cellar & Kitchen is a true standout! With a stellar wine selection and a menu full of delicious, seasonal dishes, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet refined dining experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making every visit feel special. Highly recommend!
Food was excellent with friendly staff. Trattoria vibes...
Lovely place! I have been here a few times since they reopened after Christmas and I will be back for sure! Since Management changed the atmosphere is amazing and food is outstanding, they propose different specials every week and there is a good selection of Wines.
Cute little Italian place. Standard service. Food was good — I really liked the bruschetta Fitzroy. I would come with again with the 50% discount from Fork.
Nice little Italian not bad value. Was lovely to be able to sit outside. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food a little salty but tasty
Went there for a team dinner. The good things. The waiter was amazingly attentive. He noticed one of our party hadn't placed an order and came back to ask. Loved the starter. I did a sharing with 3 of my colleagues. We ordered different starters and shared. Mine was the bruschetta. Portion was generous . My colleagues who had the Saute du Mare could have used a spoon. Their verdict was it was an okay dish. I had the seabass fillet Alla mediterranea. I would have enjoyed it more if they had scaled it better. A few mouthfuls were not so pleasent. Most of the group had pasta. I didn't hear any complaining. We had desert but I was honestly so full my judgement is probably biased. I had the mint Panna Cotta. I think it's a flavour I personally wouldn't add to a Panna Cotta. Texture was fine though. A few had the cantuccini and they enjoyed the process of dipping into the wine and it made it's way to those who hadn't ordered it to try. Some had tiramisu but forgot to ask how they found it. Overall a good evening. A few minor details which made me rate it 4 instead of 5 Excellent service!
A tiny but traditional and authentic Italian in a wonderful area makes this a hidden gem. The staff are friendly and have a good knowledge of the menu to recommend dishes and give a good impression of it being a family run affair. The menu isn’t massive but there is a good mix. Bottled beers are offered and there’s a good number of wines at sensible prices. The octopus starter was delightful in terms of both presentation and taste. We had been warned that the seafood risotto would come with a bit of a wait however this was a lot longer in reality than suggested and unfortunately the dish was rather dry on arrival. Portion size was good though and, again, presentation decent. Toilets are down the steep stairs in the basement and despite being tiny have been designed to maximise space cleverly. With the small number of tables in the restaurant though there’s unlike to be a need to wait. Overall it’s a pleasant independent place with a relaxing and unique atmosphere in the area; certainly worth checking out.
The location is ok, no noise. Staff friendly and professional, we found Stella an Italian waitress, a lovely girl. The food was very nice, unfortunately, the Porchetta was finished. Tagliere Salumi amazing!
Food was tasty and authentic, I feel like on holidays in Italy! Service was friendly but could be more attentive. The tiramisu was outstanding!
Lovely little restaurant around the corner, I had a delicious pappardelle ragu that was cooked just right the way I usually like it (al dente) all other dishes are very good and the service was excellent and very warmly.
Nice ambience in a hidden italian restaurant around the crowded place. Food are pretty nice but I think the carbonara is a bit too salty. Overall it is still superb!
Dropped in while walking Paddington to Euston abot 6pm. Welcomed to a couple of Negroni and excellent bread selection. Want to return to a proper meal.
Very cosy inside, we had dinner here too and my seafood pasta was really nice.
Restaurant is in a great location/neighbourhood. The food is good and genuinely italian. However the venue could be furnished better and the ventilation inside the restaurant should be improved. Overall I think the venue is what drags the overall experience down. This could be a much better restaurant - it has a lot of potential but considering how much you end up spending and the area of London you’re in, there are better options around
Came here in one of the May summer weekend lunch and this location is indeed hidden gem quiet place in central London. I would say the food over here are very hearty home cook feel. Didn’t have too much seasoning for my liking. However, the overall presentation is superb and it is indeed a great restaurant if you are coming for some wine and have a nice Italian meal.
Food was ok. Service was very good. But it was freeeeeezing in there, no music, no vibe.
