Vintry and Mercer is a luxury boutique hotel in the City of London, only moments away from Mansion House tube station and a few minutes from St Paul’s. You are spoilt for choice with two restaurants, a roof terrace and a speakeasy style bar. Vintry Kitchen is an Asian tapas eatery on the ground floor, with a menu focusing on fresh, bold flavours. Wine takes centre stage served straight from large barrels. Make sure you check out Wagyu Wednesday where you can get an epic Wagyu sando and a beer for £25. We love a rooftop restaurant in the City and we certainly were not disappointed with this one. The decor of the restaurant is bright, floral and beautiful so if the weather isn’t great, this is a perfect option for dining. However, if the sun is out then make sure you dine on the terrace! With views of St Paul’s and the Shard, it is a gorgeous area to sip on cocktails or enjoy a slap up meal. Cocktail wise we sipped on an English Spritz: Hendrick’s Gin, soda and English sparking wine (£19 – a little pricey!) and St Paul Hurricane: Plantation 3 white rum infused with passion fruit, sage and ginger, grand mariner and oregat + lime, pineapple and English verjuice (£12). The cocktails were beautifully presented and were crisp and light. The menu is predominantly British using sustainably sourced meat and fish from the British Isles, in particular Scotland and Cornwall. We started off with some warm sourdough (huge chunks) and some sweeter Guinness bread. For starters we absolutely loved the Pig’s Head Croquettes, fennel salad (£9.50). The croquette itself was huge and absolutely packed with filling. The English Asparagus with duck egg, wild garlic bearnaise (£10.50) was equally impressive. Make sure you order these soon as they aren’t in season for much longer! Lastly, we tried the Ewes Cheese, carrot, honey and lavender which was so colourful and we loved the combination of savoury and sweet. We were so impressed with the Wild Garlic crusted cod fillet, beetroot risotto which was on the set lunch menu. The cod was flaky and soft with a nice crunch from the crust. We were also surprised at how much we loved the risotto. There were so many delicious choices from the “Land” section including 35 day aged beef and pork cutlet. We opted for the Brook Street Farm Rack of Lamb served with celeriac gratin and artichoke (£60 to share). The lamb is carved in front of you which is a nice touch and it was certainly plentiful! While £60 isn’t cheap, it is easily enough for two people and was tender and flavoursome. There are five desserts to choose from and three kinds of cheese. We had the Chocolate Mousse, Vanilla Ice Cream and Stout served in a mini tankard (£6). The stout flavour wasn’t to my taste but the mousse was light and not too rich. We were so impressed with our meal at this beautiful rooftop restaurant in the City. The service was friendly and attentive (but not overbearing!) and the atmosphere was laid back but with a special feel to it. The weekday set lunch menu is good value at £29.50 for 2 courses and £33.50 for 3 courses. You must absolutely add this restaurant to your list!
We really enjoyed dining at this new rooftop terrace restaurant. The food is good value for money (I enjoyed my fish and chips with mushy peas, the Sunday Roast looked impressive too) - it is comparable to a D&D restaurant. The service is attentive (although I would suggest a bit more coaching in finesse as it seems to be aiming to be that kind of establishment). The setting is lovely - great views from a conservatory and modern classic interior. It was fairly quiet as business is still picking up, but I have high hopes for it being a potentially great meet-up spot once the secret is out.
We booked a winter cabin to celebrate a birthday. The cabin itself was lovely and very cosy. Staff were brilliant and explained all the dishes well, and the food was delicious. The only downside was the lock on the cabin, so we would either be locked in by the staff or we would have to keep getting up for to unlock it otherwise the door would swing wide open and it was quite cold. The cabin itself fits 4 people but the table wasn’t really big enough for 4 mains and drinks.
We spent a birthday 🎂 at this place. It is located in a restaurant. Great view over London. The starters were really yummy, especially the bread was exceptional. The chicken was OK, didn't think it was amazing. Good service every waiter was really kind and professional. We asked to get moved inside as outside was a bit chill, inside there was no music so thought the atmosphere lacked a bit. Overall, it was nice and would come back in the future.
This is such a great restaurant. They get so much right - the venue & view (brilliant alfresco dining in the city with views over the river); solid menu (not doing anything life changing but doing the classics well); good drinks selection (particularly good non alcoholic options); atmosphere is chilled but buzzy (nice playlist). The thing they really nail (& should probably do workshops on for other venues) is recruitment. Every member of staff is personable and informed. We have yet to experience anything like mediocre service - every single person is great. If I had a restaurant I’d be trying to poach them all. No exceptions! Nice work @Mercer 👏👏👏
What a hidden gem. Tucked away down a random side street. I was pleasantly surprised when we went in up the fancy elevator to the top floor. Service was good amd food was better. To my relief you get proper portions. The views are pretty good too. Shame I didn't get a clear day. Everyone was happy with their selection which shows it's a quality place. I'll be back to bring others to this place so i can try more of the menu. Recommended.
Excellent service, the staff there had really good sense of humour and made sure that your glass was never empty. The venue is small but it packs a punch with its views and cozy atmosphere. Food was scrumptious and very filling, I didn’t even manage to order a desert after the mains! That’s a very good sign indeed regarding the design of the menu by the chef. Really chic venue, I’d say give it a whirl if you’ve never been.
Our overseas family guest and our family had a delightful afternoon tea experience with a lovely view. While there were a bit too many sweets for our liking, the afternoon tea displays were adorable and so royally! The manager and staff were welcoming and attentive to our requests, and the food was also excellent.
Mercer roof top terrace boasts a fantastic location with stunning views over St. Paul’s Cathedral. The atmosphere is chic yet relaxed, perfect for any occasion. Service was impeccable—attentive and friendly throughout. The food was a highlight: beautifully presented surf and turf, absolutely delicious desserts.Highly recommended!
Lovely place, great food and amazing vibe! Sergio, the manager was very attentive and friendly and made us feel at ease with everything. Highly recommend it, we will be back soon!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the incredible team at Mercer Roof Terrace for making one of the most important nights of our lives absolutely unforgettable. What was already a special evening became truly magical because of the care, warmth, and thoughtfulness of your staff. From the very beginning, the team went above and beyond to help me plan the proposal. They took such extra care with every detail, especially when it came to seating. Giving us the cabin table created the most intimate, romantic setting we could have asked for—it felt like the entire rooftop melted away and it was just the two of us in that moment. The surprise congratulatory drinks and desserts were such a beautiful touch and made the celebration feel even more personal and joyful. Those little details meant everything to us and showed just how much heart goes into the service here. A very special thank you to Maria, Lovelin, Basel, and Manny for their exceptional service that night. Your kindness, attentiveness, and genuine excitement for us did not go unnoticed—you truly made us feel cared for and celebrated. And compliments to the chefs as well for the wonderful dinner; every dish was delicious and perfectly complemented the evening. Thanks to all of you, this rooftop will forever hold a special place in our story. We will cherish these memories for a lifetime and cannot wait to return. 💍✨
Lovely rooftop bar, in a great location. The service was impeccable and although we didn't have food it looked amazing. The views were also lovely. If you're looking for somewhere a little special this is your place!
Booked a table for 4 including a child, all staffs made us feel very welcomed, and we could sit inside one of the cabins outside the rooftop and could enjoy the sunset with delicious food! Highly recommended and will definitely come back!
Such a lovely restaurant. Service was impeccable, food was delicious, views were wonderful - highly recommend
I've never had British tea before and this was a good experience. Great tea, and food. The service was not great.
The food, service and ambiance were exceptional. My gaspaucho and fish main were both wonderful. The wait staff were attentive, but not obtrusive. We couldn't imagine having a more pleasant lunch. It was wonderful.
Quiet on weekends. Nice rooftop view of the city. Amazing staff. When you walk into the hotel, turn left and take the lift to the 7th floor.
Fantastic lunch, wine, service and views at Mercer Rooftop terrace. Perfect for a summer afternoon with colleagues and or friends. Recommend the tomato salad, chips & stone-bass. Will be back for luncheons!
Just incredible. Everything about the food, service, venue. Wonderful.the deserts are pretty rich so if you've had a starter and the lovely steak prior - be warned! Didn't stop me though, too good to resist. Best restaurant I've been to in London to date!
Beautiful rooftop bar with amazing views of the Shard and St Paul's! The perfect place to soak up the sun and have some drinks in a really beautiful setting, I will definitely be back
Great location, the views are stunning service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Must go back soon. Highly recommended
We came for the Crown afternoon tea and had a lovely time. The roof terrace is a smart venue and the servers all kind and friendly. They were a bit short staffed so things took a while but we were made to feel so comfortable that we enjoyed not feeling rushed. The tea itself was a high standard with generous servings. The option with 3 cocktails was brilliant with each cocktail having a non-alcoholic option. It was a lovely experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Night! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was absolutely flawless—Emma and their colleagues went above and beyond to make our night special. Every detail was taken care of with such thoughtfulness, making our experience truly unforgettable. The food was simply perfect—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a delight, and the attention to quality was evident in every dish. But what truly made this evening magical was the incredible service. I had planned to propose to my fiancée, and the staff made sure everything went smoothly. Emma was exceptional—attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our moment special. Their professionalism and warmth made all the difference. A huge thank you to Emma and the team for creating such a perfect evening for us. This was more than just a dinner; it was a night we will cherish forever. If you’re looking for an outstanding dining experience with impeccable service, this is the place to be!
Came here for dinner with in-laws who were staying nearby. Waiters were friendly and served us very well, atmosphere was excellent. And the food was delicious, we sent our compliments to the chef as it was the best we've had over the festive period. Would come again!
I booked a celebration for my friend yesterday, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! Maria was an absolute star—her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire experience was unforgettable. The stuff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and it truly showed! The cake was incredibly delicious, the service was impeccable, and the venue was simply breathtaking. Thank you for making our special day even more magical!
Beautiful little rooftop terrace tucked away in the heart of the city. We enjoyed a delicious lunch amid views of St. Paul's Cathedral and The Shard. Wide selection of meals and meal options - good value set lunch with choice of two or three courses, although one course was enough for us. Good wine list and unique and fun cocktails.
Went to the Mercer roof terrace yesterday for dinner and was expecting a little better considering the price of the food! The views are lovely but the food is good but not much flavour to my main which was chicken. The cocktails were okay but not the best either. Aside from this, the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was lovely (very quiet when I arrived but busy by the time I left). I’d consider coming back and trying something else to eat, mostly to see the views again.
The food is delicious, and the space is beautifully designed. We did have to wait a bit between courses, and one of our dishes was forgotten, but overall, it was a very positive experience. The outdoor booths are adorable and a really fun experience for dinner during winter. I will absolutely be returning.
Beautiful quiet and off the busy roads restaurant-cum-hotel. Close to station. The restaurant is on the rooftop terrace and offers sitting inside or outside. While it's beautiful, there's something missing to add to the magic of a rooftop dining experience. The service and staff were good but it doesn't quite hit the 5 star.
Visited early September to celebrate a birthday with drinks. Lovely rooftop location for a pleasant, dry day. The space feels private enough and service was pretty good. They also allow children, which was a major plus for us. The prices are on the slightly higher side, but given the view and atmosphere it's a minor thing. I would happily return.
What a lovely dinner and night we had with my friends! The music, the atmosphere, welcoming staff, stunning views and fair prices for the food definetly made our night :)
Good food with friendly waiters
Nice and welcoming staff. Dinner was good and the drinks were amazing when we where there in the evening. We went back Saturday afternoon as I loved my Pistachios & Macha Martini. Unfortunately so was next day Martini a belly flop 😔 Be there in the evening and hope for the perfect cocktail 🍸
Without a reservation, luckily, on a Monday, we managed to get a table. We ordered drinks, and mine came wrong, so they had to redo it. Then the main courses were served. Although delicious (beautiful flavours), my friend found a hair in her food, so it was replaced. I ordered lamb, and halfway through, I found a hair! The waitress was very embarrassed and apologetic. They removed the lamb from the bill and offered a complimentary drink for her risotto. A nice gesture, but the evening was quite spoilt by the overall experience.
I went here for the Afternoon Tea. The savory items (small sandwiches) were pretty good the scones course was also good, they had an interesting Earl Grey jam. Unfortunately the sweets course was not good. Every item was some combination with plain white cake, a berry coulis, and cheap chocolate. It was fairly empty when I went (on a rainy Sunday afternoon in autumn) so service was pretty good.
Very poor service, waited 22 minutes for 3 drinks, this on top of being ignored for 15 minutes after being showed to the table. Expensive, and ludicrous to be charged service charge as standard when the service was so poor. Would not return.
Only stopped for a drink. The set up was pleasant and automatic shades worked well. The tables were tightly packed and there was a distinct lack of a view.
We came here on a weekday evening and did not have a great experience. The ambience was good and the service was great aswell but that doesn’t make up for having raw, uncooked food twice. We got the lamb chop, which was raw twice- we had to end up substituting it for the chicken which was also very bland and lacked flavour. The monkfish was okay, again lacked flavour. The price point here is also high- chicken, monkfish and fries was about £70. We did get a complimentary dessert for the uncooked lamb which was nice. The waiters were great but food is the heart of the restaurant and that is why this is being rated so low. The views are also okay but they are also blocked in a way.
