Open sesame has been one of my favorite restaurants for at least 20 years. When I lived in LA I would come at least once a month and when I moved away it remained there same. The potatoes with garlic are a staple almost necessary for me to continue living at this point. I always recommend it and I airways go!
Dinner at Open Sesame did not disappoint! The chicken tawook and beef kabobs were tender and savory, and you can’t go wrong with Ali’s Favorite. Every bite was delicious. 10/10!
Delicious food me and my wife were very happy with our choices. If your looking for some good comfort Lebanese food this is the spot.
Karly is a fantastic Server and took great care of us. Sea Bass was simply amazing, grape leaves were super flavorful and served nicely chilled as was the lemony tabouli salad. Tahini sauce has delightful garlic undertones. We'll be back soon!
Excellent dining experience! The food was delicious. We had the labneh, lamb kabob, beef kafta, chicken shwarma. The service was great. I would definitely recommend it and return.
I've been coming to Open Sesame when they were just a small restaurant with just the bar area and a few tables up front and in the patio. There is a reason why they have been around for over 20 years in such a competitive landscape. For me, it's the quality and consistency of flavors that is why I keep coming back. The prices have gone up considerably but so has everywhere else you see so I'm okay with it. Everything on the menu is great so just stop by and you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!
So many amazing options for meat eaters and vegetarians! Food and service are all phenomenal. This place definitely had a buzz and an amazing vibe the entire time I was there. Sitting on the patio was a great experience too. There were lots of very well placed heaters throughout. I am sad I live so far away from this place because I would definitely come back more regularly if I was local.
My wife and our friends had a wonderful time on new year's eve. The food was great and staff were friendly. Just watch out for exposed small nails in the chairs. I ended up with a whole in my jeans!
Enjoyed this place. Got the open sesame combo wit chicken, sirloin steak and lamb. Lamb was very flavorful and not overly gamey as lamb can be. Had fhe garlic potatoes - I liked the sauce abd i liked the potatoes, just not together. Felt like the crispiness was lost when soaked in rhe sauce. Spicy hummus was pretty good. Garlic dip was good. Really liked the cauliflower. Came during lunch on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded as I know it can be. Will be back.
We were visiting the area for a wedding and family members suggested meeting there for dinner. It was fantastic! We had a group of eight and they worked to accommodate us quickly. The food, service, and atmosphere (we fit into a booth in the back that was cozy, and quiet so we could really talk) were all excellent! If you like cauliflower (generally I don't, but.......it was good!), that's a must order. Along with the roasted potatoes, and many other dishes! We will definitely go back if we are in the area.
Steven and I had such a great dining experience in Long Beach and I’m thoroughly impressed. We ordered the Yassmina pizza and I had the chicken shawarma plate—everything was incredible. The grilled chicken might be the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked—juicy, never dry—with a smoky, marinated flavor that came through beautifully. We also shared the potatoes, which had a bright, citrusy kick, and the falafels, which were crispy on the outside and surprisingly moist inside (not dry at all!). The space itself is cozy and full of character, with lots of beautiful artwork on the walls that adds to the experience. I will definitely be coming back here.
Last night my wife and I and a friend of ours dined here. This is the 2nd time my wife and I visited here. This restaurant is very popular and usually a line of people waiting to be seated. We were in luck, while the receptionist was busy with others, the manager asked how many in our party...we said three. Within 3 minutes he took us directly inside. Felt great to be treated so well. The manager introduced our waitress to us. She was very happy and made us all feel very comfortable. She quickly took our appetizer order, garlic fries and the Meza sampler which consisted of 3 stuffed grape leaves calmata olives hummus toboule labneh and yogurt dip with all the Peta bread you want. Our order came quickly. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS on the appetizers..it was very tasty and none went to waist. I had a Moroccan Green Ice tea which was light and refreshing, my wife had the Tamarind indian date syrup infused with rose water it was very tasty. Our friend had a red wine which he said was great. We ordered the Beef Kabob prime top sirloin, parsley, onion, sumac, basmati rice. Served with pita bread choice of one dip and one salad. The beef was absolutely cooked to medium perfection. The rice was so good my wife ordered a side of rice. Combining all that into a folded pita bread was mouth watering to say the least. Our friend ordered the same. He loved it. The ambiance was very nice the service was great. We highly recommend dining at Open Sesame.
Returning to Open Sesame Grill after 10 years has given me a whole new perspective. The food and service have only gotten better. Our waiter was extremely attentive, and the food was so good that we literally emptied our plates. I also appreciated the ceremony of cleaning our hands with rose water and the attention from someone who appeared to be in management, checking to ensure everything was okay at our table!
A welcoming & colorful spot to enjoy lunch. The weather was so nice (in December no less!) we dined on their charming patio. Our server was quite friendly & helpful with our questions. We were pleased they offered splits of Proseco which we each ordered. I loved both of the hummus’s on my plate. One was traditional and so creamy and the other one had a nice spicy kick to it. I only wish that there was more falafel balls on my plate. They were crispy and delicious but only two small ones- I could’ve eaten much more! The prices were quite reasonable.
Funky place to have some Lebanese food and definitely worth the trip to Long Beach. Haven’t been here for over a year and decided to head down to see if it was still the standard for Lebanese food in the area. Suffice it to say the food is solid in terms of quality and taste. The decor is full of articles and photos giving the history of the place and area. Best to make reservations so as not to wait in line.
A great place to sample Mediterranean, predominantly Lebanese cuisine. The joint is plagued with an odd layout. There are multiple dining rooms with no access between them. There's also a bar facing the kitchen where all the meat grilling takes place. The food is delicious and somewhat authentic, but it may take a while to get to the table, especially during busy hours. Prices are too high, but the dining experience is pleasant enough to compensate for that.
It can be loud sitting outside from traffic and some people talking loud when sitting outside. It can be difficult to hear someone talking quietly. Tables can be very close to each other. Food was average. The service was good. A little pricey but not crazy. One bathroom on one side. Didn't see gluten free options. Street parking.
The food was great; however, the service was extremely disappointing. Our server, Emad, was rude, unprofessional, and did not know how to speak to customers respectfully. Instead of listening to our needs, he accused us of ordering the wrong way or not knowing how to place an order properly. He showed little attention to our requests and maintained a poor attitude throughout the meal. To make matters worse, we overheard him talking about us to other staff members and blaming us for a mistake with the order. This was not the first time we’ve experienced this kind of behavior from him, and unfortunately, when we returned, we were served by him again. While the food itself was excellent, the lack of professionalism and consistently bad service completely ruined the experience. I would never return to this place if I were to be served by a server like him.
