Any real NYer will tell you their Halal Guys experience standing in the freezing cold waiting in a 60 person line to get this stuff. Sometimes waiting an hour or longer. LA has no idea how lucky they have it to not have to wait outside for this food. It's just as good as I remember it and now that I know it's down the block from my employer I'll be there often. Stick to the basics, regular plate, all the meats, lots of white sauce. Beware the hot sauce is the hottest I've ever had in my life so try it before you put it all over your food! This is a limited menu and always has been.

This is one of my weekly lunch "Go to's". Always fresh and delicious. The service is top notch and the crew is super friendly! Used to get the gyros and now get the plate with beef. Love that white sauce on top but careful with the hot sauce... It's hot!! I love spice so I mix the hot sauce together with the white sauce on the container lid before adding it to the food for a consistent heat distribution.

Really big filling portions - got beef plate, tasted real nice and good. Reminded me of shawarma from many other places I’ve tried around the world. Not dry at all and gives you lots of sauce (on the side) add jalapeños, it will be better. Comes with cut up pita. Will def be ordering from here again :) good prices too

Literally came here at 1139 pm - they close at 12 . These guys were so nice and patient / I’m sure they wanted to close up but they were kind enough to let us sit and finish our food ! We got the falafel plate and the wrap - the hummus white sauce and bbq sauce are a must ! The rice had great flavor . Great spot so glad we came here !

My favorite take out place whenever I’m in Long Beach! My go to is the combo platter. Quick and easy, tastes great with their white sauce. Go for the red sauce if you love spicy!

Most weekends theres this one worker there who always fills my platter to the brim. I am grateful for her excellent service so I asked her name— Joanna. The platters she makes are always delish! The reason I’m writing a review this time is because Joanna said I was a “cool guy”. Something about that engulfed me with the urge to write a review. Thank you the Halal guys and thank you Joanna. The beer tastes so much better after some Halal Guys! Cheers!!

Great place I'm not even Muslim but I love Halal food. As a Mexican American I recommend this to other Hispanics wanting to try something a little different than our food but still want something close to heart. Love the beef and chicken combo with white sauce and spicy sauce.

The service was amazing. The falafel sandwich is very tasty and I love their French fries. The price is good.

I like this Branch of Halal Guys, it’s near my workplace at Kong Beach. Staff are good too.

I considered myself lucky to find a seat inside. My first impression was that the place was not the cleanest, and could use some attention in that regard. I tried their Chicken platter, with all of their toppings and white sauce. It looked delicious from the start, and the taste did not disappoint me. Their portion is generous, and it was only after I placed my order that I realized there was a smaller portion of their platter, which I should've ordered in the first place. The quality of the food is great, and the flavors and spices are amazing. I would definitely go back to try some of their other items.

Maybe the guys are halal…but the food is not halal as I taste ….chicken not cooked well and the has a smell …im giving 3 stars just to encourage them make better food…honestly winning the worst plate for this month …good luck guys

Came here for dinner last night and got to go. Workers were very friendly and quick. I got a chicken gyro and hubs got a chicken bowl. It was fine, the chicken wasn’t really flavored at all, lettuce didn’t really belong on a gyro and kind of grossed me out when I started eating, and I had to add onion when I got home. The pita bread was delicious. Fries were great. Overall I don’t think I’d go back but maybe just wasn’t to our preferences.

I’ve recently discovered this place and have since been going almost daily. What I’m quickly learning is that sometimes it’s absolutely amazing, but some of the employees are Extremely skimpy with the portions. Every day I’ve gone the portions seem smaller. The guy working today gave me such a small scoop of meat that I’m done. I 100% am going to check who’s working from now on, and if it’s the dude who shorts you on the portions, I’ll eat elsewhere.

Zipped through here last night for a fast dinner. Definitely a takeout, fast food place. The staff was friendly. Service was prompt. The food was good but nothing amazing or notable. As another reviewer mentioned, the choices are pretty limited: bowls or wraps. Chicken, beef or lamb. Pita bread or fries. The server slaps the food into a bowl or wrap as you make your choices. It's a nice change from burgers, tacos and pizza for a fast good lunch or dinner.

Over all meh experience Key points: fast service but they forget stuff. Possibly not worth the price point. Smells good. They forgot my drink, i went back and had to stay in line to get it The fancy fruit drinks are very small. It's sort of not worth the price. None of it was even cold. Food was served fast but streamlined. Less of a cooked food and more like they are putting heated food on a plate and charging you. Like lunch ladys from school lol. The lamb is absolutely delicious and worth the price, but everything else felt skimpy. Weirdly enough they (cooks) tried to discourage me from buying the lamb. (Its expensive, also we dont have visibility on prices for it) They forgot my sauce also, despite me asking for some. When ask to add little more chicken I have to pay extra, I ask for extra sauce they say pay extra. After paying over $11 this is what I got. Total I spend almost $40. Not happy at all

Not all change is better 😌 I had the combo plate beef, and chicken was hard and tasteless the restaurant was dirty. The employees were more interested in talking to each other than the service. I came with a friend who I was bragging about the restaurant . I've never been so embarrassed.

I tried this establishment for the first time. I am giving it two stars because the staff was nice. Unfortunately, the quality of food was just okay. The seasoning of the chicken, rice, and white sauce is bland. The lettuce used is iceberg, which has no nutritional value. The overall quality of ingredients is cheap...I think it is a fast food restaurant geared towards high schoolers or undergrads who are looking for something convenient with large portion sizes. If you are looking for quality good food for your money I would suggest a place like Wild Chive.

The food is great other than pita bread dry sometimes, service is so-so. Get a copy of your receipt and check your prices. I have been starting to frequent this spot as of late. Just ordered a small and regular with hot sauce on the side. Charged for two regulars and no hot sauce on the side. Sad to say this is not what I support in a business. My money will now be frequenting other take outs in the area.

Food is hit or miss, just be careful with their deceptive ads offering discounts and freebies. Got an ad for free wings if i spent $30....went into the store to pick up my $34 order and the cashier told me I couldn't redeem because I needed to order something....with my bag of food sitting right there....with my name on it. Done. This place is shady and not worth it for being so bland. Spend your money elsewhere.

I love coming here but tonight they did me dirty . I usually get alot of food on my regular platter with extra protein, I got one for me and one for my gf , I paid 29 bucks and felt ripped off for what they served me, skimpy with the white sauce and the chicken it looked like a regular plate with no extra ... when I was in NYC the plate was full of food what happened??? Are they not doing so well that they have to ration the food ?? I'm disappointed, next time I'm going to the other new location at Cerritos mall , since they are new they won't Skimp me out of my money thanks but no thanks . 😭 the picture shows how very little food they gave me..sad. so anyone who reads this I am not embellishing the review don't spend the extra money on the extra protein it's not worth it here , go to the Cerritos where they might not be rationing the food.
