I eat a lot of burgers. Probably more than any one person should in a week. With that being said, I know my burgers. I've been ordering from HiHo every week since August 2020. In fact the whole reason I even have a Postmates Unlimited membership is because I order so much from this place. This is the best spot for a burger in all of LA. Hands down. That waygu beef makes all the difference. Not to mention that onion jam is the jam. I recently finally made my way to the actual restaurant and the staff there was also very friendly.
Grass-fed patties with a nice sear and soft buns that don’t fall apart. The pickles have snap and vinegar bite. Fries are skinny and crisp, best eaten immediately. Staff runs the line efficiently. It scratches the burger itch without the 45-minute wait you see elsewhere.
We've gone here twice, both times our food was fresh and delicious! Can't say enough good things about the burger, so tasty, and the fries are a surprising delight! Friendly service, restaurant and restrooms are clean, parking is in a secure garage that is free for 2 hours when dining.
Trouble getting there: there is major construction on the road this restaurant is on, so it is incredibly difficult to get here. If you do make it here, there is a parking structure next to it where you get a ticket from a machine, then the restaurant validates the ticket when you leave so that you don't have to pay for parking. If you want to eat here right now, my suggestion is just to get it doordashed (delivered) to you. It was a hassle to get here. Experience: the employees are all very nice! The food is a bit expensive and you have to buy a burger, fries, and a drink all separately. That's a bit of a bummer. It cost 31 dollars for 2 adults to eat here. Taste: delicious, amazing, and maybe worth all the trouble. The burger and fries tasted awesome. I hope to make it back here when there is no construction.
I've been looking to try HiHo Cheeseburgers for a while now, but had to wait until my recent trip to the US to have one. Well, wouldn't you know it, but it was the week the restaurants shut down, and only delivery could be had. So while my reviews normally focus on the atmosphere, design and service in a restaurant as well as the food, I can only write about HiHo in as much as the flavour of the burger. It was great. I got the basic HiHo Cheeseburger double, with all of the fixings and it was delicious. We shared fries and they were good too, but the burger was great. I think it's their onion jam that sets it apart from other burgers and gives it a unique taste. It was fresh and presented well and good value for what we got. I'm sorry I can't review them more than this, but when things return to normal and when I go back to LA again, I'll visit them in person and try another one. It's definitely a winner. (plus they had a great Key Lime Pie).
Best non-smashburger in Los Angeles. Not too greasy, always packed with flavor. Perfectly melted cheese, fresh buns and toppings, and juicy all the way through. The fries are terrific too. Free covered parking is a plus too! A bit on the expensive side when you add in the fries but well-worth it every now & then. Love, love, love the double Hiho Burger.
I came here with some friends and it was a chill place to get some good burgers. The burgers are Waygu beef so it tasted pretty tender. I had the spicy Hiho Cheese burger and fries which tasted great. My main issue was that my food was forgotten initially. The manager was friendly and comped a free cheese cake for me which was also delicious. I was grateful for good company, good food, and a chill environment. I do wish the place was a little bigger. Parking was good because the structure that is connected to it allows for 2 hours of validated parking for free if you eat at the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a good burger and willing to pay a little extra for a good meal in a relaxed environment.
So I was told by at least 15 people that these are the best burgers in Los Angeles! While I do not agree with them being the best in LA I must say they are in the Top 3! I actually tried the veggie burger, the Hiho cheeseburger, and the Willie Mae Chicken Sandwich ( I can eat more than most people) I loved all three but the chicken sandwich more than anything. I will be back for sure because I want to take my friends to see if they rate it #1
I'm not a fancy burger person, I'm more interested in taste. HiHo has a simple and amazingly tasty burger. The french fries are so great. Shakes pretty decent but a bit small for the price. They recently added more outside tables. Tried chicken sandwich, it was just OK. Suggest sticking with burger.
Very solid burger. Meat quality is very good. The burger could take a little more acid, so maybe get extra pickles to help balance the sweet from the onion jam on the hiho double cheeseburger. Fried chicken sando was good, burger was better. Key lime pie was better than the banana cream. But the star of the meal were the fries. I talked my bf out of getting two orders, and boy do I regret that decision. Don’t make my mistake!
HiHO was the last stop on the second leg of our families Best Los Angeles Burger tour. Once we finished the debate on where to park (we got a $68 ticket when we went to The Apple Pan), we headed into HiHo which had a more modern aesthetic than any of the other Burger spots we visited. Staff greeted us and were super helpful as we acclimated ourselves to the menu and ordering process. The menu was simple and didn't have a laundry list of options. They stick to a few things and do them well. The burgers are all wagyu, which isn't something that I am necessarily looking for in a great burger, but it couldn't hurt. Right? When we received our food, it was immediately clear that HiHo makes a great cheeseburger. You can taste the freshness of everything, and it all melds together perfectly. I give HiHo my highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed.
*Update* I've been waiting patiently for this day, the day I got to try the Pastrami HiHo cheeseburger!!! And oh my God it did not disappoint, the pastrami is as good as the beef, ALL the flavor with none of the heavy feeling of just eating a double colossal burger from ANYWHERE else! Amazing amazing amazing!!! Absolutely one of the finest burgers in Los Angeles! The Wagyu beef is incredible and the fries are outstanding, cooked to perfection. My favorite part about eating at HiHo is that I never leave feeling too full or overstuffed. The staff at this location and the Santa Monica one, are always friendly and very attentive, both locations very clean and well kept. It's always a joy to visit, not to mention the parking for both locations has easy ev charging!
My dad and I really liked this place. The burgers here are juicy, made with halal meat, good bun, a good mix of toppings. The surprise stars of the show were 1) the chocolate milkshake and 2) the homemade ranch dip for the fries. Wow, both SO good. Was possibly one of the best chocolate milkshakes ever.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The fries were great as well. It lived up to the hype for sure.
One of the closest places to my heart. Not just because of the heart clogging fatty meat they serve but bc of how heartfelt and full of love their burgers are. These luscious, joyful, tasty works of art will fill you up and leave you craving more because of how good they are. My God are these heaven sent. Make sure to grab a burger, make it a triple if you’re hungry, and some fried for a wonderful time in LA. Also they’re halal. If only other halal joints put this much love and care into crafting their burgers.
Soft, juicy, flavorful burgers. Since they are smash burgers, I would definitely go with a double or triple patty. Their fries are tasty too. The fires are on the softer side ... they remind me of steakhouse fries and not burger joint fries. Equally delicious! We ordered pickup via the app and they forgot to include an item. It was quickly resolved with a refund once I contacted them. I'm bummed I didn't get to taste the shake, but it's just a reason to go back. I also had the key lime pie in a cup and oh man was that good!
The halal burger scene has been upping it's game over the last few years, but this is the best burger I've ever eaten. All the details were perfect, toasted bun, high quality juicy patty, great sauce. My only regret is not ordering another.
I can confidently say it was one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had! From the moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the flavor, quality, and attention to detail. The beef was perfectly cooked—juicy, flavorful, and complemented by their signature cheese that melted just right. The buns were soft yet sturdy, holding everything together without overpowering the taste. Each bite was a perfect combination of freshness and indulgence. The service was also top-notch—friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The ambiance of the place was casual yet inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great burger. l
We hit up this location, and we're not disappointed. The burgers were amazing! We also tried the loaded fries, which we also loved. A couple of my kids tried the tenders and were very happy with them. We finished up the meal with a chocolate and a vanilla shake. Every bit of our meal was delicious.
Best Halal beef burgers in LA! Juicy meat with savory sauce and great spices! It will honestly keep you coming back for more burgers. Their fries could be better but overall the food is amazing. I recommend getting pastrami with the burgers. Adds more tenderness to the meat with the fat and more flavor. Absolutely awesome burger place. They have great music taste too !
Excellent burguers! The fríes were amazing - I love them.
🍔I had the pleasure of trying out the HiHo Cheeseburger, and I have to say, it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. The beef is made with 100% grass-fed wagyu beef, and the onion jam really adds a delicious depth of flavor. I would definitely recommend this burger to anyone looking for a great meal. And not to forget the twice fried hand cut french fries are some of the best I've ever tasted! Do not forget to order a side of fries with this amazing cheeseburger! The service is top notch! I highly recommend one of the best cheeseburgers in LA!
HiHo Cheeseburger / double wagyu beef, cheese, ketchup, spicy onion jam, lettuce, pickles, mustard - 5 🌟! French Fries - 5 🌟! Had a burger craving today and was ready to try out HiHo Cheeseburger for the first time. Excellent spot for a number of reasons. Good location for a weekend lunch, easy parking. Excellent seating options on their outdoor patio. After chatting with the very friendly greeter, learned they have strong restaurant quality ethics (always a good sign) including house making everything including pickles and pastrami, sourcing high quality ingredients, and fast orders. The burger was what I was here for and it delivered on deliciousness. Great bun, amazing beef, and a tasty sandwich overall. They offer pastrami as a burger topping, which I'd like to try but I usually stick to the signature burger in its original form when I go to a place the 1st time. I did get the spicy onion jam though and it had a nice kick. The fries are soft in a tasty way. I like pretty much every type of fry but quality stands out like these. They are definitely fresh potatoes. There are lots of great burger spots in LA and this one deserves its place on the list.
The burgers are flavorful and tasty. The ingredients are fresh, and the meat is of excellent quality. The meat is so tender that it virtually melts in your mouth, and the sauce adds to the flavor. Juicy and slightly pink in the middle, there was nothing that I did not like. This is the place to go if you're looking for a great burger in LA. P.S: "First Light Farms" provides their beef, which is certified humane, halal, and free of antibiotics, GMOs, and hormones (a New Zealand meat company).
Delicious. Best smash burger in LA. I think someone else said it to but I'll say it here again, "OH and the fries." Fries are incredible. Free 2 hour parking with validation
blown away by this burger. got the double hiho, should have got the triple. meat is melt in your mouth, bun was perfect, house made jam on the burger absolutely delicious. wow. fries were great, crispy on the outsides and soft mashed potato insides, beer selection is small but the IPA was good. you order up front -- they said it would take 15 mins, food was out in less than 10. great vibe in the space. top 3 burger in my life for sure.

Literally the BEST burger we’ve EVER had! They’re hallal certified which is a MAJOR plus. We ordered well done and some fries. SO SOO good. The establishment was clean and inviting. The guys/workers up front were really nice as well. Definitely recommend.

YUMAZING. high quality ingredients yield absolutely delicious results. Great music, comfy booth, and super friendly staff. I’m officially going to be a regular.
This is an awesome halal burger joint with friendly staff and a neat, welcoming environment. The burgers were absolutely perfect juicy, full of flavor, and everything in them worked together really well. The portions were solid, and the fries were on fire. It was just an all-around great burger. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend stopping by for a quick, satisfying bite.
The hamburger was incredibly juicy and soft – absolutely delicious. Every bite was full of flavor and cooked just right. The French fries were perfect too: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so good that you’ll definitely want to order a second serving after you finish the first:) Absolutely a new favorite can’t wait to go back! 🍔🍟
A cheeseburger that made my burger-loving kid actually tear up for a second. Fries that are what In-N-Out wish their fries could be. Mexican Cokes. Validated parking. And, best of all, staff who clearly like working there and care about their customers, so much so that I wish I could have tipped them.* What more need be said? * (I approve of no-tipping establishments for systemic reasons—pay your employees, folks—but I still wish I could have dropped a few extra bucks here specifically.)
Holy crap is that a good burger!! Found this place simply by chance and so glad that I did. Got the Hiho Double Cheeseburger and fries. I can guarantee I will be ordering that again. One of the best burgers I've ever had, and honestly probably the best fries I've ever had. They are very similar to five guys fries but less greasy. If you're a burger fan, you have to try this place. See you guys again very soon.

The restaurant is more of a fast food style/take out restaurant. You go in, order at the counter, sit down, and they’ll bring the food out to you. Their drink offerings are either milkshakes, fountain sodas, or unsweetened tea. I wish they offered a sweet tea. I grabbed a pastrami burger, fries, and a fountain drink. The pastrami burger was supposed to be spicy - but it really wasn’t. It was a delicious burger though. It as was cooked well. It had the perfect amount of meat to bread with all the rest of the toppings. The pastrami was a decent amount. It was different having pastrami on a burger but it definitely was cool. The fries were fantastic. You could tell they were homemade fries. I would recommend this burger spot. The food was definitely 4 star worthy - but .5 star should’ve been lost due to the lack of a sweet tea offering (which most places shoukd and do have today). But I still give it a 4 star over a 3 star because the food definitely does make up for the fact that there is no decent drink variety.
I've only visited once, but everything was actually very very good! (Update: I’ve now been here multiple times. It’s pound for pound overall one of the absolute best burger places in L.A.. “For The Win”, and “Burgers Never Say Die” are still the best tasting, but Hi-Ho packs so much more. Better French fries by a mile. A great B+ burger. Nice atmosphere. Tasty shakes and even wine and beer. Pretty much the total package, and not at restaurant premium prices.) First things first... Hi-Ho's French fries are the absolute best fries I've ever had. There, I said it. They are amazing when fresh and hot, as well as cold after you find a few left over fries sitting at the bottom of the bag on your way home. Amazing. The burger and the chicken sandwich are very good. The burger is like a mix between a McDonald's Big Mac and an In'N'Out double double animal style. Very good. The chicken sandwich is very tasty. Fried sort of like an egg roll. Light, crispy, and sweet. Excellent!
The burgers are very good. They’re as good as they are small. They had three things I can’t stand- ketchup, onions and sweet pickles. What is it with sweet pickles nowadays? The fries are ugly but hand cut though they are tasty. The place has a cool vibe. Parking is validated and is located in the building the restaurant is in.
We ordered two burgers and French fries. They gave and charged us for two burgers and two fries. I didn’t realize this until we had already eaten our food. They didn’t bother reading back our order but I should have also double checked. 3 stars + 1 star for the novelty “wagyu” beef. The smash burger style patty is an easy way to make even the roughest beef taste decent. So it’s a shame they would prepare wagyu beef this way.
Very good food. Hamburgers tastes great. The dining area is simple. Restroom is clean. There are no discounts for military service members.
A good place to get a classic burger! Nice and buttery and made with New Zealand imported wagyu beef. Simple toppings, but overall a burger that will hit the spot. They also have some desserts too. Banana Cream Pie, Cheesecake, and Key Lime Pie! We went with the Banana Cream Pie and enjoyed it. Great crust and whipped cream with a lot of banana slices! There is limited seating inside and they are primarily doing take-out orders.
I've been living in Los Angeles for three months and after trying several places this has been the best burger eating experience I've ever had. The homemade, natural, juicy and fresh taste make this burger the best I have ever tasted. The ambiance of the place is more than fine, everything in its place.
This is my first time in this restaurant after searching for a good burger in LA. Overall, ingredients seem to be excellent once, however, the meat wasn't cooked enough. It needed more seasoning. The fries was OK ( not the perfect one) The caesar salad was excellent. We tried all sauces, all were so good. The service was excellent by Sam. Thank you Sam ☺️
I didn’t have the best experience on my first visit. But I do think I would’ve given them 5 stars if it went a little smoother. I entered the restaurant and placed my order. I asked for no cheese, when I received my burger it had cheese on it. Unfortunately I was already waiting for 15 minutes so I had to leave to attend to other business. I told the cashier that I would be back later for the remade burger. Instead on them making my burger fresh when I returned I was given a burger cooked almost an hour before I arrived. Fries were ice cold. It was just terrible, felt like a total waste of money and I love burgers.

I paid cash so watch out for the fee charge on your receipt. I guess its a charge for buying there food. They should just add that to the food cost. This is what make people upset with the extra charge, it's just like Las Vegas. Just checked my burger and meat was half cooked raw inside. I usually eat my meat medium rare but this was cooked outside but raw inside. Make sure to check it if you get it to go.
Overall, it was just a regular double burger, nothing special to write home about, considering the price, comparable to shake shack. They don't have many condiments here and charge over a dollar if you want there special sauce on the side. I will say, their load fries looked good and the service was excellent, but a fairly long wait for a burger.

I have been aware of and eating at HIHO Cheeseburger for about a year. What once was a premium experience has become another cash grab and the classic pay more get less experience of the current times. Previously considered a fast casual restaurant with counter ordering and food delivered to your table is now just an over priced fast food joint. First they got rid of the real plates and totally eliminated the restaurant dine in experience. Then they started to treat ever order like a takeout order, they give you a pager and you sit at your table and when it’s ready it buzzes and now you go it your order. The staff have become policy drones, incapable of doing anything other than what is pre-populated in their system. Including not honoring simple achievable requests like not putting done in order of fries in that bag, who actually wants a $5.00 bag of soggy fries?? Not me that’s for sure. Considering this place does not allow or accept any modifications simple request should be honored, and when they are not honored, it’s a sign of disrespect and a lack of customer service. I mentioned something to the young man who was clearly managing the place this evening, but he seemed more interested in eating his meal and doing the work on the computer than actually addressing a customers concerns. Like who needs customer we have more take out orders then we can actually fulfill so if we lose a customer who cares they’ll be 10 more to replace them.
Food extremely overrated. Slow horrible service. Waited almost 30 minutes on a slow day for an uncooked mediocre burger that prob would've been better at Mcdonalds. Literally half my burger was completely raw. Yuck!
All greasy and oily food! Specially the french fries it’s all sagged in oil and Greasy! Not exaggerating You probably can squeeze at least 1 pound oil from the french fries it was nasty so we have to dump everything in trash. Same as with the burger oily and greasy. I’m surprised people eating this junk
