The older man who was working was very sweet and attentive, which I appreciated. My Dad and I shared the Spicy Squid Salad, Shrimp Fried Rice, Pad See Ew with tofu, and Thai tea. The food was great, and although the salad wasn’t as citrusy as I’m used to at other restaurants, the sauce had a great savory flavor that didn’t make me miss it much. Definitely would go back! :)
Talay Thai is an authentic Thai restaurant with delicious food and cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. Every dish is full of flavor - just like in Thailand! I would highly recommend this place if you’re around Santa Monica.
Great Thai seafood soup with nice ambient with full bar. Follow us on instagram @gemislist for more info and to discover other great spots!
I went out to lunch here with a friend and it was honestly pretty amazing. A gem of the neighborhood / west LA area for sure. If you’ve ever been skeptical of Thai food or haven’t tried it before this is the best place to try! The pad Thai was beyond delicious and flavorful, 100% would recommend!! The owner was so kind as well and the prices were not bad at all and large portion sizes
I'm not from around here but I was looking for something to eat after visiting UCLA. Found this Thai food place as I was walking around looking for a sports bar for the UFC fights.. This is authentic Thai food! The price is great. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Yum Thum Seafood soup. The Chicken Pad Thai portion is very large. I was pleasantly surprised. I always finish my plate but this portion is very generous. I highly recommend it. Come hungry!
Best thai food in LA. Been to thailand. Go here. It's delicious. If you need something to try- Drunken noodles (Medium / Hot) or Yellow (panang) curry. Yum Thanks Talay for being in my life, you are ultimately delicious and tasty.
Tai tea had a different taste from other places. It was not like I was hoping it to taste. I think it can be better. The food was ok.
You made me the beef Grapow over rice.. Let me just say thank you!! MMMMM .. so good!
Nice place. Nice staff. Delicious food!

This place always has a table and the staff is always excited to see you come in to eat. They have a good price point. I’ve been here a few times and each time I walk away with a positive feeling. Don’t worry if there aren’t a lot of people dining in (there often aren’t, which is a shame), because it is not an indicator of the quality.
Had drunken noodles for an early dinner and had a great experience here. Very clean, tasty food, and well-priced menu items. Plus parking is available at the back. Highly recommend visiting!
I get takeout from here all the time, it’s consistently really good and you get a humongous portion size. Their ordering platform on the website is a bit hit-or-miss, sometimes I get the food within 20 minutes but other times it’s about an hour. I definitely recommend this place for Thai food in Los Angeles!
The place was clean, the food was good. Got the lunch special which was a pretty good deal.
Your boy out here in the west coast, decide to take a few days off from the cold weather in the upper states in the east coast... I stumbled around this place (literally) while I was walking with a good buzz and somewhat empty stomach. I ordered the Thai green curry to see if this place was worthy of the Authentic Thai food... turns out... they are... the curry was smooth and it coated the back of the spoon just right. It had that suddle sweetness from the coconut and the right amount of spicy kick from the green peppers. The veggies were not over cooked and had that suddle snap and crunch, and when you paired it with the white rice it took me back to the hood I grew up with in Oakland to the Thai family that fed me this type of curry when me and say'ya got done playing outside. If the heavens permit.. I'll definitely hit this place back up.. I also got a beer with my order, but a cold canned coke will hit just the same... 10/10 will recommend

Delivery was quick and ordering was near effortless. My order was delivered spot-on--no problems here. I can say that the crispy spring rolls which they call "egg roll" were very nice but achieving such a feat is not difficult to do. The drunken noodle with chicken came with an ample amount of vegetables. I enjoy this and many Thai restaurants will not include this. However, as a whole the dish was bland, lacking flavor and lacking the heat I asked for in my order. Servings are large.

Wish we hadn't gone to this place. I've been feeling queazy since we left. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer and all were pretty gross. Perhaps the regular cook was out but everything was off. The mee grab tasted funky - something was wrong with the sauce. I couldn't eat my seafood dish, the imitation crabmeat was definitely bad. I took a bite and moved the rest to the side. The sauce was bland, the seafood looked like it was out of a frozen mixed seafood bag. My daughter's panang was watery and the chicken was off as well. We ended up eating a few bites and we took it to go thinking we could doctor it up at home but when we got home we both felt kind of sick so I threw the whole thing away. I should have sent it all back but my politeness won out. We paid and hightailed it out of there. Ugh. Was such a disappointment - with all the Asian restaurants and the large Asian population, it's hard to believe we found a bad Asian restaurant. We went because of the reviews and I don't get why the reviews were so good. Also, the restaurant was grungy and felt dirty.
Got the panang and it was average. The chicken was not good quality so it was hard to stomach. Also got the seafood eggplant and it was bad. The imitation crab seemed almost rotten. The meegrab was also not good. Service was great but the food was not good.

Takeout order, got Pad Su and Cashew Beef. For the Pad Su I want to use the word disgusting, greasy and felt stale. The chicken was very smelly. And the Cashew Beef was really not spiced right. Thai food is all about spices and fresh ingredients neither of which were case in my order. First time ordering here and a bit confused how the food could be so bad when other reviews are fairly positive.
