Num num. Soo good. I had the juicy Lucy burger. Out of this world it was so good and perfectly cooked. I had it with the onion strings. Wow. I would gladly pay more than I did for it. The staff was super warm and welcoming. Nice job guys!
Great stop for lunch before visiting La Brea! The food was fresh and very good. Our waitress was excellent as well.
The servers were so welcoming. These folks deserve a raise. Keep 'em. This place has a great team. I felt very welcome to work with my laptop since Starbucks was closed next door.
The best burger I've ever had! All you want toppings. We loved both of our custom burgers. And the skinnier fries are as good as McDonald's (which is my all time favorite).
The Counter is one of my favorite restaurants. I do the Build-Your-Own every time and as far as the toppings go, I select 17 of the 25 options and it’s delicious every single time. Lettuce blend, organic mixed greens, baby spinach, carrot strings, quinoa, hard boiled egg, pepperoncinis, tomato, roasted grape tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, red onion, grilled red onions, scallions, mixed olives, marinated artichokes, dill pickles, and roasted red peppers. The food is always great quality. My last visit at this location, the restaurant was empty. This is a huge plus on Saturday in Los Angeles. Koby, the server, was excellent. The one negative about The Counter is that it is quite expensive. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Counter Burger might be one of the most expensive burger chains, but I think most of it is worth it. This area doesn’t have much tourism or business so I think I don’t think it’s ever busy here. The servers were very nice and the place is just generally relaxing and chill. The build-your-own burger gives you the chance to pack in a unique experience with so many different options and having your burger cooked rare to well. Get ready to unlock your jaw and eat a monster of a burger if you get a bunch of toppings. If you’re not in for a big meal. They have good Happy Hour options from sides, drinks, and full on combo meals.
A great place to stop by after a long day at work. I got the tater tots to start with, and they were perfect, served hot and fresh, and just the right ratio of soft to crunchy. I got the counter burger, which comes with provolone cheese, fried onions, mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes. I got rid of the cheese and tomatoes, and I was immensely satisfied. Service is very fast and friendly, and the restaurant despite spacious with many booths available. And let me just say, they were very generous with the shoestring fries which pair well with the aioli garlic sauce.
The last time we ate at the counter restaurant was over 10 years ago when they had a location in roseville ca. Luckily, we just stumbled on this location during a visit to the la brea tar pits, and it was lunch time. The big part to this restaurant is the build your own burger sheet. Picking all the items you want makes the experience. The burgers themselves are good after all you made it, along with the shoe string and sweet potato fries. Now, for a few marks against. As this is not a corporate restaurant which I found out is what closed in roseville, the shakes are not as think or as large as before. The old experience had thick shakes vs the more liquid ones we had. It's still good, though. Another is the food here aint cheap, so be ready to spend a little. Lastmark is toast the bottom bun. My burger had a soggy bun when I ate my second half.
This was my first-ever visit to The Counter. A friend had invited us to go with him after we helped him move some boxes, so we all had worked up an appetite. I was happy to see that they had Topo Chico sparkling water from Mexico available on the beverage menu, one of my favorite sparkling waters. We had ordered the Fifty Fifty combo bowl of Sweet Potato & Shoestring French Fries for the table. We were off to a good start. I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi Salad. All of the greens looked and tasted very fresh...the Mahi Mahi was grilled perfectly, and still had some life left in it...that is, not dry and overcooked. Our partner ordered the Kale Salad... noteworthy were the tender baby kale greens that they employed for the dish. It looked very tasty as well. The portions were a perfect size for hungry-ish adults. The service was lovely and gracious...Thanks for the hospitality!
After being asked to depart "Starbucks" next door.. Because they were closing.. My friend and I discussed walking into the "La Brea Tar Pits" to continue our business conversation.. I decided that it wasnt wise. .. (Safety speaking) . So I grabbed the brass 📯 horns instead... This little eatery was were we continued our conversation. We sat outdoors.. around 7ish nearly 8pm. He decided 🚫 not to order.. I did how ever . I have never eaten here before... I do not eat 🍖🥓 Meat.. So I chose a "Veggie" 🍔 burger.. with 🫒 olives, 🥒 pickle's and mixed greens. String 🍟 with parmesan cheese 🧀.. If you haven't been here before..? Please be aware that you can place an order on a paper 📜 like menu.. Building your meal... The wait time for my order was 12 minutes... The location is near the Corner of Wilshire and Curson ave. There is a "Sag-Aftra ,La Brea Tar Pits and an expensive apartment building close by. The server was really nice... I tipped him 4.00 I have included some pictures.
After seeing the Mammoths at The La Brea Tar Pits, I had a primal need for a burger. I am not shy about tucking into a well-crafted burger. Customizable down to a possible flight of sauces, this burger is well up on my favorite burgers list! From the flavorful beef patty, cooked the way I liked it, to the brioche bun, this burger was top-notch! Mine were served with perfectly cooked Sweet Potato Fries. Come. Eat. Now!
The burgers were good. A little pricey given that sides are not included, but I guess that’s to be expected given the location. Both of the restrooms were out of service when we visited, which was annoying. The staff didn’t suggest any alternatives.
The food was amazing. It’s been a few years since I’ve eaten at the Counter, but I was very pleased to see the food quality was just as good as I remembered. Our service could have been better. I suspect the restaurant was under staffed, but I don’t know for sure. It took a long time for our server to approach us. Once the food arrived, our drinks were empty (soda and water) but the server didn’t check on us to offer refills. The server was pleasant, but the service could have been better, or she could have explained why there were delays. The restaurant was not full. In fact we had our choice of tables when we arrived.
Burger joint/ sports bar . I love how you can build your own burger. Patties were juicy and fresh. Sweet potato fries were delicious. The soda tasted a bit off but other than that it was good. The staff were nice and patient as we were indecisive about eating there AND why we wanted( came for happy hour and just missed it ) I live very close so I will def be back
A good place to grab some burgers. You can customize your own burgers here, or just order their special burgers. Both options are good. We ordered one The Counter and one Bacon BBQ burger, one Fifty-Fifty, one Buffalo Wings and one BBQ Chicken Salad. My personal favorite would be The Counter Burger. It tasted really good. The sweet potato fries were delicious, better than potato fries. Salad was okay. The buffalo wings were a bit too spicy. My dislike for this one was that they only serve celery as side vegetables. I don’t like celery 😔 usually, there should be both carrots and celery as side vegetable for buffalo wings. The restaurant was not busy but the service was extremely slow. It was hard to get the attention of the waitress.
We really liked it :) Friendly service and good food! Glad we stopped by instead of hunting down another place further from the museum. Our family spent a few hours down by the tar pits and capped it off here. Creative burgers sandwiches and salads - also lots of vegetarian and other diet restrictive options. Yummy. Only complaint is that prices were high and no sides included with sandwiches (al a carte only).
Came here for quick food on our way to the tar pits. To start, it looks like they validate parking for the tar pits. We had found street parking (it was sunday, meters were off) but that's good to know in the future! Our server Leticia was super friendly, explained the menu to us since we had never been here before, and was incredibly attentive and quick! You pick your meat, bun, cheese, sauce, and toppings. More than 1 cheese or sauce costs extra, but you can load up on the toppings! I got the 1/3rd lb beef patty, brioche bun, smoked Gouda cheese, baby spinach, garlic aoli, and marinated artichoke hearts (which turned out to be cold, which was both weird and kinda off putting, so I picked them off). Side note: Leticia will judge you on your build-your-own-burger skills...I got a B- 😂 I also chose to add on the quinoa salad, which was made up of quinoa, diced tomatos, feta cheese, and cucumber slices with lemon vinaigrette. It was....okay...not a lot of flavor, even with the dressing. I ate as much as i could cuz it seemed healthier than a side of fries, but it was so bland that I didn't actually eat that much. lol Our food came out super quick. And when I asked for a lot more extra pickles, Leticia delivered, big time! (See: photo) Besides the burger, we got the fried pickles. The apricot dipping sauce turned out to be a crazy good combo with the salty pickles! Who knew! The fried pickles themselves were only okay to be honest. The apricot sauce made them decent. Tons of available seating. Good walking distance to the tar pits. I would come back again just to try another burger combo, and see what Leticia grades me 😄
Similar to Red Robin's. Customize your burger place here and they have special deals too (can get the special deal and change it up if you like). Otherwise, burgers are about $13. We went when there was a baseball game going and it was a bit on the noisier level but not bad. Staff was friendly. Great place to grab a bite if you're near LACMA and or the Tar Pits. My boozed hot chocolate was amazing (if only there was a spicy bite to it and it would be even better).
Been here multiple times but this is probably my last time. I feel like every time it just keeps getting worse. I only order burger and tonight was honestly worst burger I’ve had in a few years. Embarrassingly dry patty like it was sitting out for hours and sweet fries definitely sat out whole day, bacon was hard, you can almost break your teeth. The only flavor was in sauces. Disappointed for this place going down like this, I’m sure the only place keeping it afloat are probably the business buildings next to it. It would be nice if you guys keep your food fresh even if it’s 2-3 hours before you close. One advice, do not get a burger here, not sure about anything else but trust the internet stranger that has been here many times.
I used to go here. Food is good. The sign out front is embarrassing. It's been decaying since forever and it makes me question the professionalism of the establishment. It's literally the 1st thing you see. C'mon, really?
