We parked in the street next door, and we were able to get in without an issue. The waiter is chill but experienced, and everything came out super quickly. All of the portions were generous and delicious. Only thing would be that my tonkatsu was soggy at the bottom. Would visit again!

First time trying this place. I ordered the Pork Katsu with Curry. It was good. The pork was amazingly tender! The curry could have been a touch spicier, but was still enjoyable. The miso soup was above average. My wife got the Katsu Pork combo. She liked it. We also split a cold soba. It was good, but I think we added a bit to much radish to our dipping sauce. Despite that it was tasty. The service was good and they were helpful. Overall, this place was better than we expected. We will be back

Good food. We ordered a few different things to give them a shot. Really enjoyed it, the steak was the only thing that was mediocre everything we preferred was really good. Probably make my way back here next time in K-town and try something different.

The pork katsu was delicious. It was perfectly crisp and tender. Soba noodles were really refreshing on a hot day! This is a hidden gem in Koreatown!

This used to be one of my favorite childhood restaurants! Passed by here recently and loved the food just like it was 15 years ago. Would recommend the pork donkatsu here (my friend had the chicken katsu which was okay but I preferred the pork version).

I don't think for dontaksu and donkatsu set (soba or udon), you can't get any better than here, especially for quality and value. I think the regular donkatsu with soba is my favorite during summer. When the weather gets cooler, I enjoy the katsu set with udon or their curry donkatsu with rice. It comes with plenty of cabbage salad with a tangerine vinegrette, a tempura shrimp and mashed potato ball karage. One of my favorite thing is the Wako sauce with toasted sesame!!! The best is just their katsu method, perfectly crispy without drying out the meat (esp the pork is so juicy) and not oily. The service is always professional and efficient. Been coming here for 2 decades and hope it stays bustling and amazing for decades more to come.

The sauce and crispy pork katsu are incredibly delicious, and I feel alive. If you have to try something new this place is worth your time checking out. 10/10

Came to this eatery as soon I came to visit LA. Really missed great Katsu. Make sure you have good appetite as the portion is very large.

My whole family loves this place. It is 40 minutes away from my house but is worth it. The pork cutlet is delicous and crunchy. My kids love the sauce that they serve, specialy because they get to grind the sesame seeds. The portions are big, and everything taste great.

The menu is a beautiful lie. The portions are wonderful when you are craving tons of cutlet goodness. The staff is super friendly/chill yet on top of everything to make the overall exp that much better :D

The Order (Takeout): I placed a takeout order for four people, getting the Regular Donkatsu (pork cutlet) and the Combo with Soba. • Service: The service was impressive. I requested a specific pickup time, and the food was packed and ready exactly on time. Food & Value: The food is solid. It was "ok to enjoy"—meaning it satisfies the craving for a standard, crispy Donkatsu, even if it isn't the fanciest version in town. The price was reasonable, making it a good value for a family meal. Logistics & Availability: • Parking: A major plus is the plenty of parking available, making pickup easy. • Holiday Hours: The biggest benefit is that they seem to be open on almost any holiday, which is a lifesaver when other places are closed. Verdict: A dependable spot for a reasonably priced, punctual meal. Great for a quick family dinner on a busy night or holiday. Staff was ok but neither friendly or professional.

Behind this longtime favorite is a story of grit, family, and flavor — Owner Jane, a single mom who journeyed from South Korea in the ’90s, took a chance on a sleepy neighborhood spot and turned it into a katsu haven. For decades, she’s poured heart and hustle into every batch, drawing in regulars with crispy cutlets and a secret sauce that keeps folks coming back. I still miss their Wilshire location, but I’m so glad they’re still around. Their katsu game remains strong — consistently crispy, juicy, and satisfying. Lately, they’ve leveled up with smoky donkatsu and a late-night menu that keeps fans coming back. Food: 4/5 - Pork, chicken, and curry katsu (カツ) are still my go-to classics. - The hamburger cutlet (ハンバーグカツ) has an interesting texture — not quite a burger patty, but definitely worth a try. Service: 3/5 Pretty average service — food arrives quickly, but no real check-ins or follow-up after that. Parking: 3/5 (Difficult) They used to share parking with a nearby building, but that’s no longer the case. Street parking is available, though it can be hit or miss depending on the time of day.

Delicious! A little pricey, but since I don't eat a lot, I was able to Mahe two meals out of it. I got the pork cutlet, the wife got the chicken katsu. Hers was double the amount of chicken than my pork.

I’ve been coming here since way back in the day, so I’m pretty familiar with the food. The chicken katsu today had different breading and didn’t taste like the usual, but it was still good. I like their soba chicken katsu combo and their cabbage salad is good!

Nice donkatsu and unagi in Ktown. Donkatsu is fried well. Very thick cuts, as well as quite large. The sause was pretty good, except that it was a bit too sweet for my personal preference. The unagi was also thick and well done. Again, the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. The server was very attentive and quick, perhaps he knew I was going to rate this place. I think it's worth a try for fried pork, chicken and beef.

Excellent donkatsu! Every time I am in Ktown, I wanna drop by this place. The place is packed all the time. The donkatsu is juicy with the perfect amount of crispiness. The curry is savory. The dark grey noodles (I forgot what they are called…oh yeah buckwheat noodles 모밀) are the exact amount of firmness. I see below…they are called soba. The sauce for the buckwheat noodles is awesome sauce. The cheese donkatsu is a little cheesy. I recommend that one person order the cheese donkatsu and another person order the regular donkatsu and split & share. This place even has an activity. It’s fun to crush the sesame while waiting for the sauce to be poured into the saucer. Chilled barley water. 보리차. Now that’s awesome! Portions are too big…actually. And I feel guilty ordering only two plates for three people. Excellent decor! One tip - do not annoy the servers, particularly during their break time. And double check that you received your credit card after paying. Most servers are so good. Just keep on your toes. But all in all, this place is awesome.

Wako has great tonkatsu, and I usually get the katsudon. However, this time their katsudon wasn’t as good as I remembered it being; it may be due to having visited during off time. However, I still greatly enjoy the quality of their cutlets, and wholeheartedly recommend the place to anyone who loves deep fried foods. There is free parking for customers and restrooms inside the restaurant.

Still a solid spot for Japanese-style donkatsu. The regular pork cutlet is my favorite —though I have to say, it’s not quite as good as it used to be. That said, it’s still tasty and satisfying. Also, note that the tip suggestion is based on the after-tax total, so it’s worth double-checking before paying.

A great addition for hearty Japanese food in Ktown. Their seasonal cold citrus soba was amazing, great chew and the brightness of the citrus was so refreshing during a hot summer day. Their seasonal smoked tonkatsu was great, huge potion to share as an appetizer and the charred veggies with bbq and mustard sauces were a usual yet great combo of flavors. Would recommend!

After 10 years of being a customer I can say that the quality of the food has gone down significantly. The amount and crispyness of the batter (the crispy crumble that is fried onto the meat cutlet of choice) has gone down and the side dishes (jalapeños and radish squares) are mushy. Also you can hear the noise from the kitchen while you're eating.

They don't take orders correctly, cheese is all out of meat, the udon tastes like drinking soy sauce and then they started charging $2 for to go?
