It's Mexican Oaxacan Arab Lebanese fusion cuisine on the corner of a little strip mall. Pros: excellent falafel. Nice fast food. Cons: other reviews said this was great for vegetarian/ vegan food, and I have to disagree with that. The only veggie main is falafel, so if you don't like that, you're out of luck. They have the typical Mediterranean sides that are vegan, but not exactly a meal, and really it makes less vegan options than most Mexican and Mediterranean places in Los Angeles. Still, overall cute for a quick bite if you don't mind fried food.

Fave spot in LA and order here at least 2-3x a week. Best, most creamiest hummus I’ve had in my life. Rice is cooked to perfection every time. Both their salads are delicious and refreshing, Tabouleh Oaxaca Salad is a must try. Taco plate with chicken and cauliflower is my go-to. Everything is fresh and packed with flavor. Prices are affordable/reasonable and portions are perfect. Owners are super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care and passion into their food.

Combo plate beef, chorizo and chicken kabobs, meat full of flavor no overwhelming, salad so fresh and crunchy, hummus just on point you can taste the full flavor of the chickpeas definitely a place to come back and try more items from the menu

Like so many before me have already mentioned, food is a welcoming explosion of flavor in your mouth. I tried the "eggplant hummus", falafel tacos, and cauliflower tacos as well. They were both very good. Price was reasonable, a great gem to the culinary community that is Boyle Heights. Way to go...

It qas definitely a different experience. The chicken swarma taco was rich and very tasty. I had the beef kabob burrito. Rich flavors, every bite was full of flavor and spice. The papas preparadas are a must. We will be coming back.

The food is so delicious. It solves my problem of having to choose between my love of Oaxaca food and Mediterranean. The nopales salad, papas preparadas, and the combo plate are a must try. And don’t forget your agua Fresca, I had the watermelon and it was delicious!

Middle East meets East LA. Oaxacan and Lebanese join forces in this low key high key quality restaurant. The best if of both worlds unite. Hummus, zankou chicken , carne asada, salad, naan bread and good ol’ white rice. Friendly staff and excellent service.

Overall very happy with the food here. Parking is tight but we found a spot on Wabash. I got the taco plate which came with 2 tacos, a side of hummus, a salad side, and a side of rice pilaf. I got a falafel and chicken shawarma taco and both were great. Falafel was the star. Crispy and light yet flavorful. My girlfriend got the combination plate. Chorizo, beef, and chicken kabobs. Side salad, rice pilaf, and hummus. Looking forward to coming back soon

The Falafel Burrito was so delicious and even better than I expected! I also tried the Cauliflower Taco and it was very good! My husband had a Chicken Taco as well as a burrito and loved it all. We both were amazed by the falafels. The sauces and salsa on our burritos and tacos were perfect and full of flavor. I heard about this on KCRW’s Good Food Show and I’m glad I tried it. This unique spot has a variety of great-tasting options, both meat & veg. It is a must-try!

I watched Ugly Delicious on Netflix, and I think the last episode of the second season featured X'Tiosu. A Lebanese restaurant started and owned by brother chefs from Oaxaca. It's an amazing story bolstered by the attention to Lebanese cuisine sprinkled with Oaxacan flavors. The next day after watching the episode, I took the short drive from Beverly Hills to X'Tiosu, and luckily discovered one of the best restaurants in LA. I bought the combo kabob plate (beef, chicken, and chorizo kabobs with salad, rice, and hummus - large portion size) and sides of cauliflower, traditional hummus, and Oaxacan hummus. Kabobs were cooked and seasoned perfectly, traditional hummus is creamy and perfectly balanced, the Oaxacan hummus was a complete, wonderful adaptation to traditional hummus (i would buy 3 the next time I go), the rice was perfectly cooked, and the salad had tomatoes and cucumbers with a balanced Lebanese dressing, I stood in my kitchen couldn't help but smile. I'm a customer and advocate for life.

So there I was, on my day off, thinking I would go to oaxacanville in koreatown to get a mid-afternoon lunch of some tasty mole without fighting with the crowds. Then I remembered it's the beginning of the labor Day weekend, and driving on the freeway through downtown is a terrible idea. then was stunned to see much closer to me, that there was a oaxacan place in East LA, right across from the Malabar branch of the public library, no less. So far, so convenient, so I looked at the menu and got completely confused and then extremely excited by the fusion offered here -- Lebanese and Oaxacan. I could eat chicken shawarma all the time if I could get away with it and here's a place mixing it up and putting it in a taco. my head exploded and I got in the car. this place has a great story of which you can read in any of the many accounts that are so easy to find on the internet. I ordered a mix of two chicken shwerma tacos and two vegan tacos, one with cauliflower and the other with felafel. The shwerma tacos had a sort of cotija sauce and tahini and to be honest were not as good as the vegan tacos, which were very good .. . With the shwerma, something about the mix of the two sauces on the shwerma didn't quite work and overwhelms the actual marinade of the shwerma. I am guessing that a burrito version of this would be better balanced, and I'm Keen to try. I wanted to try something with cactus but I didn't see any on offer, and I'd read about some chorizo dish that wasn't on the menu that I should have asked for. I did order the cauliflower tabouli para llevar, along with the oaxacan hummus, which had a black bean base. I've always wanted to like tabbouleh but it never has worked out for me. The very best tabbouleh I've ever had, even that I could take or leave and wouldn't order more. it's sort of what you order when you want the most healthy thing to try to balance out all the heavy things, and there's not a shirazi salad on the menu. I'm happy to report that the cauliflower tabbouleh and how it is made by these two geniuses have fixed whatever problem I had with tabbouleh, because this tabouli is very tasty. But the true star was the oaxacan hummus, which was the best of all the items I ordered. It's some of the most outstanding hummus I've ever had. I ate it all in one sitting without much embarrassment. it was an extremely hot day and unfortunately the only seats are outside, but hopefully you can see from the photographs is a little Oasis of color and style in the middle of a pretty grim strip mall. I had the Sandia agua fresca, too. It was really good. The pita bread was not.

Falafel was Off the Chain! The best falafel I’ve ever had. I grew up eating Lebanese food so I can be very picky about my falafel and hummus. The falafel I’ve eaten here is easily the best in so-cal. I had the chicken shawarma taco plate and falafel side with pita. The tacos were flavorful, not over seasoned, and the chicken wasn’t dry! It was delicious! Loved the sauces that came with it and the side salad. However, the hummus could’ve had more lemon and salt. As well as the pita should be two instead of just one. Other than that, I would still recommend coming here and definitely will be back!

This neighborhood walk up is an interesting combination of Oaxacan and Middle Eastern. It works. Reasonably priced, quite tasty. We took our order out, but there are some shaded outdoor picnic tables out front for people who want to eat there. Fast and friendly service. It’s usually very busy.
