Let me tell y'all the second I walked in Cast Iron Grills door all I felt was pure unconditional love and God's presence like never before, our waitress Yasmine was a God send. I called her our angel sent from God, cause she was one of the nicest waitresses ever!!! This is a must eat at place if you are in Lubbock. I have heard nothing but raving reviews so I decided to try it out for myself and I definitely was not disappointed. Make sure you arrive early because they only make a select amount of the desserts and once it is gone, it is gone.

Amazing. HUGE diners' tip: pick your sinfully delicious pie BEFORE you are seated, then order as SOON as your seated. It will most certainly be gone if you wait until meals end. The chicken fried steak was the best I've ever had and I highly suggest you order it with the optional green chile topping. A whole other level Everybody was kind and friendly, we never ran low on our drinks and the wait staff was very attentive. BUT.... $50 for chicken fried steak, pork chops and pie for lunch for 2 people is a bit pricey.

This place has very delicious homemade style cooked food. I had the pork chops, Mac and cheese and green beans and it was all very tasty. A must place to have lunch or breakfast.

When is the last time you were encouraged to have pie foe breakfast. If you don't, you will miss out on signature food. Oh my, still thinking about the coconut cream pie. A neighborhood gathering place with excellent hearty breakfasts.

This place is well known in and around lubbock as the spot for breakfast and lunch if you can make it! But boy, I hope you do for your sake! I can't believe iv lived here this long and never tried it! We had the chicken fried steak that was immediately number 1 in lubbock on the first bite! Then, a pretty juicy burger that the bun was a perfect match with. I mean, I am coming back for one of those, too! We had a pie but ate it so quickly had no time for pictures! The staff is great, and you are well taken care of in any section! Make this your spot at least once a month or even once a week, and you will not be disappointed !

Everytime I come back to Lubbock to visit family, I try to have a meal at Cast Iron Grill. It’s been about 7 years, and it was as delicious as ever! The two egg breakfast is an amazing deal! The bacon is so thick cut and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my biscuit smothered in gravy with the pan fry potatoes well seasoned with some bell pepper. The eggs were cooked well and went great with the biscuits and gravy since I was hungry for a savory breakfast, today. My son had the hash browns and pancake which he thoroughly enjoyed. Neither of us could finish so we took a plate back for my other son for a little breakfast, too. Excellent service from our waittress. Such a warm, friendly, professional wholesome atmosphere. All the staff here walks fast as they hustle and bustle to take care of customers. I’m so glad to see that the owner, Teresa is thriving with her business. A friend recommended we try this restaurant and so we did. We got there around 10:30 and seated ourselves. Freedom quickly came over and took our drink order after which was followed by our food order. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a veggie omelet with breakfast potatoes and a pancake. The food came out super fast and it was hot and fresh. Overall, the restaurant was clean, great atmosphere, reasonably priced and freedom provided good customer service. We will be back.

Best Chicken Fry In Town. We started out with an appetizer of onion rings, and this was by far the most I have ever received as an appetizer. There was at least fifteen or twenty onion rings. It was well worth it as an appetizer. We ordered the chicken fry, chopped steak, and the chicken fried chicken. Everyone of our meals was on point. Absolutely no complaints. I don't go to Lubbock often but this is definitely the place to eat when I am there. Best meal I have had in ages!

What a great local restaurant we were taken to by a local. This place is very popular and I see why. The food is delicous southern comfort / Texas food. The service here is outstanding. The restaurant is very clean despite being a really busy place. It is easy to find using Google Maps. There is plenty of free parking in their large lot.

We enjoyed our first visit here. Everything we ordered was delicious. The CFC was lightly breaded, crispy, and juicy. The biscuits are fluffy and flaky, crispy and flavorful. The gravy is the perfect consistency and flavorful. The pies are dang delicious. And to top it off, Patricia gave great friendly service! My only complaint, the breeze of the ceiling fans… but that’s not that big of an issue.

We had lunch here after visiting the Buddy Holly museum and it was a great dining experience.I ordered the Chicken fried chicken along with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was delicious. Other family members complemented about how good there meal was as well. Our waitress was very quick with our drinks and with refills. We were passing through town and saw this place, happy we decided to stop. The smell when you walk in is heavenly. There is a cooler full of desserts on display that greet you when you walk in, we were instantly captivated by the banana pudding & strawberry banana split cheesecake. Quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had, I would travel back to Lubbock just for the dessert. I am a huge biscuits and gravy fan and this place had some of the best tasting biscuits, absolutely delicious. So was the chicken fried steak & their pancakes. Don’t hesitate stopping by.

You may have a brief wait, but it’s worth it! I would recommend arriving shortly after they open for breakfast or at 10:45 a.m. for an early lunch. The deserts go fast, so order it early if you see one you like. I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. The staff are amazing, friendly, and appear to be well trained. The 5 star food is fresh. The environment is that of a classic cafe.

Homemade Brioche Bun Brisket Burger hands down the best I've ever had! The parking lot is quite limited. Plenty of street parking though, especially for a Uhaul! The lobby was a wonderful blast of history of the location. It was inspiring to see the honoring of the previous business of the location; Stubb's, once a staple of the community. Quite glad we didn't stay to eat. The line went out the door. Took less than fifteen minutes to order and get our food to go. Even though we are passing through, I am making a not of this place for the next time I'm in the area. Well done! Be sure to tip your waiter and waitress. State wage is $2.15 for wait staff.

As far as quality of food to the quality of service, Cast Iron Grill tops them all. In fat, the single biggest negative about this place is that they close so early in the day (2:00 pm). First of all, it’s a pretty easy to access location and there are loads of parking spots to choose from. But, beware, the lot is always full because of this place is always busy. They serve breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. The food is phenomenal and the service from the people is great. Everyone is super personable and always has a smile on their face. They do a great job at keeping this location clean. Overall, a great experience. You should decide to come eat here if you’re looking around. You’ll be glad that you did.

My wife and I had lunch on September 25, 2025, and it was yummy as always! Don't let the jammed parking lot worry you because they are always super busy. We walked in and were immediately seated. Our appetizer was delivered quickly, as well as our entrees. They are just good at handling a large number of customers, but don't skimp on the quality of their food! It's just amazing how quickly they can serve such a volume of customers with top-notch service and good old home-cooked food! This is a place you need to put on your list of places to eat, especially if you like good food and GREAT DESERTS!!!! The norm is to eat and take a delicious dessert with you when you leave.

I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant, especially if you’re from out of town like we are the chicken fried steak and chicken tender meal was to die for everything was freshly made. Good is great. Our server at the bar this morning was amazing. I will say tho some of the waitress like to talk crap about customers behind the bar like we can't hear and that's not okay. Management should do some house cleaning.

Spectacular Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Breading was bar none the best I've had in my 63 years. (Sorry Kelley's, & T-Bone Tom's). Great biscuits and very good gravy. Our server, Yasmin, was perfect, personable, and efficient. Decor was better than average.

I went for lunch and it was really busy. I had the chicken fried steak and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've ever had! I picked the green Chile and it was so good! The macaroni and cheese was not your average macaroni and cheese,it was the real deal homemade type. I would definitely recommend this place but come early! Oh and save room for dessert!

Amazing food, Hugh selection. Desserts are to die for. Sometimes have to wait to be seated or server to get to you, but it's because they are busy.

So the food was mostly good. We had our first experience using take out from this establishment. The main issue is my wife and daughter had bad reactions to the chicken. My wife’s chicken was under cooked and my daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders but within hours she was throwing up and threw up all night on and off. My steak was medium rare instead of medium, slightly purple I still ate it and it was pretty good. No real sear on it which was a shame but over all pretty good. The owner informed my wife that food poisoning doesn’t work that way which is completely false and a google search will easily prove that. It can be instant or happen within hours , days , varies. I hope the owner takes this seriously because she did ask my wife what it is my wife wanted from her implying we were looking for compensation/begging. My wife proceeded to explain we only wanted to inform her and she didn’t seem very grateful even claiming that her staff has been sick and that may be it. So this is a shame, she just threw away new customers without breaking a sweat. She did offer at the end of the call to replace the meal which is sort of a step in the right direction, not really necessary for us. Being called liars and beggars kind of killed it for us. Not a place I would ever return. Been in Lubbock 6 years and just now trying this place, doesn’t seem like we missed anything.

This was our first time trying cast iron! My daughter and I came in and sat down waited for over 5 minutes before anybody even brought us menus. The whole time I watched all of the waitress in there very short shorts ( not attractive ) make eye contact with us and still never came to our table. I started to get very irritated. Once We got our menus we were served and got our food in No time!! I was very hopeful because I have hurd good thing about this restaurant. But once we got our food I was still irritated and disappointed. My eggs and pancakes were good but my potatoes were cold and tasted old, my bacon was over cooked and hard as a rock! Very disappointing!

Ordered lunch to go for over 10 people. Everything came as ordered and was ready on time. Good portion sizes and fresh, not dried out.

The reason I write this review is not because I hate the restaurant or wish bad will on it. When my husband and I sat down we waited 10 minutes to be served, the waitresses acknowledged us from the bar when we walked in but we were never served or anything. Then shortly after when we were about to leave a pair walked in and sat down right behind us and they were served IMMEDIATELY. We were never rude or disrespectful when we walked in or anything. But it was the fact we walked in and were never served but the people that walked in 10 minutes after we were sat got served right away was what made us upset. The restaurant looks beautiful and the food smelled delicious, I’m just disappointed that this happened. Just not a friendly staff, but everything else was fine.
