My God!! Not only my favorite Northshore restaurant now, but tops most of New Orleans! We’ve eaten Peruvian elsewhere and in Nola, but this topped all. This is worth a drive from the Southshore. It’s a destination restaurant. The tacos acevichados tasted like the sea and the shells are razor thin and super crisp. The arroz con mariscos is a smoky Peruvian jambalaya meets paella that transcends both dishes. The lomo saltado is a Peru meets Japan beauty of a dish. Even the sides, the Caesar and the papas bravas….come now!

From the atmosphere to the food, the drinks, and the service—everything was top-tier. Such a gem for our little town of Madisonville! We couldn’t be more excited to have this new spot. And shoutout to Alexis—hands down the best service I’ve had in a long time. She made the entire experience unforgettable.
If you're anywhere near Madisonville and not eating at Social, you're simply doing life wrong. We kicked things off with the calamari, which—brace yourself—might just be the best we've ever had. Crispy, tender, and paired with sauces that made us question every other appetizer we've ever ordered. For the main course, I went with the short ribs, and I still haven’t emotionally recovered. Fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and plated like a work of art. I posted a picture because words just don’t do them justice. My wife ordered the ceviche (yes, ceviche with a "v", and yes, it's that good), and let me tell you, it was as bright and fresh as a Peruvian coastal breeze. To drink? I had a Familia Zuccardi Malbec from Argentina—rich, smooth, and dangerously easy to fall in love with. My wife had a Chicha Sour, which was this gorgeous, tangy, purple dream of a cocktail. Whoever came up with it deserves a raise and a parade. Oh—and John was our server. Phenomenal. Funny, attentive, knew the menu inside and out, and didn’t miss a beat. Bottom line: Social is a rare gem. Go for the food, stay for the drinks, and leave planning your next visit. We already are.
Amazing experience and so thankful to have a truly authentic Peruvian restaurant on the north shore! The owner Omar and his team knocked it out of the park. The design and vibe of the restaurant and bar is incredible. The extensive cocktail menu featuring authentic Pisco drinks were delicious. The Maracuya Sour was my favorite! Every dish we ordered was phenomenal, especially the Ceviche Clasico, Norteño short ribs, Lomo Saltado, and Peruvian Paella. We’ll be back to try more menu items. Northshore people need to keep this place around forever!
We went to Social in Madisonville after White Linen Night and had the best experience! They were able to seat our party of six on short notice, and we decided to order family-style, which was absolutely the right choice—every single dish was incredible. Our server, Carolyn, was phenomenal. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, sharing the story behind each dish and helping us select a wine we might not have tried otherwise (it paired perfectly with our meal!). Between the amazing food, welcoming atmosphere, and Carolyn’s exceptional service, Social knocked it out of the park. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Our server, Rosa, was the sweetest!! Our drinks were perfection!! The coconut violet was awesome! The best guacamole EVER! And Our entrees the Filet, and short rib were to die for! Don’t skip the plantains as a side! They were the best we’ve ever had! And the tiramisu and tres leche were the bomb!!! We needed something different on the Northshore!!! And we will definitely come back to Social!
Celebrating my son’s Golden Birthday (29 on the 29th) at the hottest new Northshore restaurant in Madisonville. This isn’t just great food. It’s exciting food. Kudos to Chef Adolfo Gosálvez, with years of Peruvian cuisine expertise, including Michelin guide Mission Ceviche in NYC. We enjoyed the various leche de tigre and aji Amarillo ceviches, causas, the buttery Arroz con Mariscos, Norteños beef Short Ribs with Kobocha squash puree, Tacos Acevichados (with nori, togarashi, quinoa furikake, and catch of the day tartare), the panko crusted chicken breast on green Peruvian noodles, plantains with togarashi and feta, and the chef’s take on Tiramisu, like a big green apple made from Lucuma (a creamy, custardy Peruvian fruit) coated in a green fruit roll up. A stunning dessert. Beyond the food, the restaurant is beautiful inside and out, the cocktails are excellent, and wine list nicely curated to complement the cuisine. Starting with Pisco Sours all around, a meal fit for a Golden Birthday and a son worth celebrating!
I’m a foodie. First timer with my son on 4th of july. At first, we requested a table by the window to catch the fireworks. Unfortunately, none so we were sat in the back room. Sweet hostess shortly came and resat us as there was a cancelled reservation. So we did get a window:) Next, Elly our server was terrific. We asked for recommendations and she did not steer us wrong. The food was delicious, perfectly executed, flavors abound and balanced, and drinks were delicious. We love tres leches and was pleasantly surprised that hands down, it was one of the best we had. Atmosphere is hip, great vibe, great bar area and river location can not be beat!
What an incredible place with an energy that makes you want to come back again and again!!! The owner Omar make you feel part of his family, manager Misael and the bartender Jonn welcomed with the best drinks I ever see around the planet !! He is so talented and very professional Colombian American! A must-visit place, and the octopus was wonderful!!
If this is Peruvian cuisine, sign me up for more! Wonderful flavors. Love the guacamole with herbs. We shared the dishes. There were 4 of us. Really eye-opening cerviche that was fresh and flavorful but with some crunch. David, our server was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and was very patient with our ignorance. We Will definitely be back. Next time we will try their desserts.
We stopped by on a whim, and so glad we did! Very impressed with the decor and vibe of the place. Started with rounds of drinks - Pisco Sours, Inka Souls, and washed those down with a pitcher of Shakaiteki - all done to perfection! The Bartenders have talent indeed! Elise B- my favorite server and Ragin Cajun, filled the table with Tiger Oysters, Tacos Acevichides, and my favorite, the Ceviche Social- all outstanding! Social Burgers, Arroz con Mariscos and Plantians came next, and we finished with Maiz Morado and Tres Leche. A great experience, and great addition to Madisonville. We will be back sooner than later!
This place is incredible! Ordered an appetizer, three entrees, and a dessert — each dish was as beautiful and delicious as the next. Seriously a must try! Service was top notch — server was knowledgeable, patient and answered all questions, even double-checked with kitchen due to an allergy. We will be back!
This place is a GEM for the Northshore. Michelin quality from the decor to the cocktails to the food. We genuinely had the best experience dining here. The food is so so delicious as were the drinks. We loved the unique quality of the plantains - they are a dessert! Each bite was truly a joy to experience. I recommend this for any occasion - we will most definitely be back for more. We already planned what we want to order next time!
This is one of the best new restaurants I have ever been to. The food is out of this world and the service was even better. We went for my birthday and our server, David, was amazing and made the evening beyond special. We went to Peru a year ago and this restaurant had the most authentic Peruvian food I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is on point and the decor is beautiful. 10/10 recommend!!!!
Amazing! Great food, friendly service lovely dining area. We were seated on the front of restaurant outside facing the water. So beautiful. We were served a bowl of roasted corn that tasted like popcorn. Very good. Next we tried the guacamole served with warm blue chips. The guacamole was garnished with some herbs I hadn't seen before. Beautiful presentation. I tried the Ceviche Social fried octopus with maui maui (catch of the day) with Leche de tigre. My friend had a skewered beef dish with fries served with a sauce. Our host served us a amuse bouche of another version of Leche de tigre. Was a very enjoyable lunch. Plan to return.
We had a great time at Social! The food was amazing, the craft cocktails were perfectly made, and best of all was the service. Shout out to Caroline, she provided great insight and wonderful descriptions of the food and drinks, with extremely detailed explanations. Service is always my top factor on where I spend my money and Caroline earned our future business with stellar service.
11/10 Not only is this, easily, the best restaurant on the northshore, it will rival any place on the south shore. We have been multiple times and have gotten repeat dishes and something new each time. Every dish has been better than the last. The oysters, the ceviche, & calamari are easy must haves! I dream about the lomo saltado, one of the best bites I've ever had! The drink menu is extensive and executed perfectly. Get the Inka Soul! But it's hard to go wrong with any drink. The staff is attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, happy to be there. A reflection on management developing a positive environment, bravo! Alejandro, you are a star! A clear leader and one of our favorite parts of each meal. The northshore is lucky to have this place!!
My wife and I had an incredible dinner at Social Peruvian Restaurant in Madisonville. We were looking for something different in the city, and we definitely found it! The dishes were creative, and the flavors were amazing. Highlights for us were the ceviche carrettillero, pulpo al olivo, pulpo anticuchero, papas bravas, and the tres leches dessert. Our only suggestion for the chef would be to add a few more vegetarian options to the menu. Other than that, it was a great experience — highly recommended!
Sarah! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ was absolutely incredible! She was super attentive from start to finish and made sure we were happy the entire time. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made our gourmet dining experience unforgettable. We left with full hearts (and stomachs!) thanks to her amazing service. Highly recommend!
Wow!!!! I’m so happy we decided to come here for dinner tonight. For the appetizer we went with the guacamole 10/10 the flavor & texture was perfect. My wife had the Cesar shrimp salad 10/10 the shrimp was cooked to perfection & the dressing was amazing. I had the arroz con Mariscos it was amazing. The service was great we were greeted with a friendly smile and seated right away. Jarred took care of us he was awesome very knowledgeable about the food and was very friendly. As a Latina I am happy to see other Latin restaurants in the area. I will definitely be back soon!
This was, by far, the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the moment you walk up, the ambiance is warm and chic. The host, Laura, was inviting with a warm smile and willing to accommodate our preferences. The managers, Vicente and Misael, made special visits to all of the tables during our visit and they were very personable. The server, Gianna, was very kind and made sure we were taken care of. The bartender, John, made spectacular drinks for us. They were very fresh and delicious! This is a fine dining experience that you DO NOT want to miss out on. TRY THE OYSTERS. I will definitely be back!
I recently discovered this amazing place called The Social, and it instantly became one of my favorite spots in town. The moment you walk in, there’s this cool, coastal vibe — relaxed but full of good energy. The ceviche is out of this world — super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Every bite feels like a little trip to the beach. I had the pleasure of being attended by Vicente, the manager at The Social, and he truly made my experience unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, he greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism. You can immediately tell he’s passionate about what he does — attentive, friendly, and always making sure every detail is perfect.
Incredible evening all around! The atmosphere is cool and eclectic, music is happening without being too loud to converse, which is key with a group. Eat the octopus even if you don't usually like octopus like me! Delish. The Ceviche is a must. And the guac has a neat Peruvian twist, tasty! Wife had the paella she adored and Mom had the pasta with shrimp, which turned out to be my favorite to taste.
Had my birthday dinner here with family. I’m not big on trying new food but I have to say I’m glad I did. I was happily surprised with the food. The service was great, very attentive but not overly. The waiter knew the menu and was able to answer all the questions I had. And the birthday dessert, I’d eat 100x and still want more! Very glad I went out of my comfort zone and tried this place! Also their drinks are top notch!
Social is a wonderful new restaurant for the area bringing very elevated peruvian inspired dishes with some asian fusion touches. The cocktails are incredibly well made, on par with what you’d find in a hip restaurant in any major city center. Definitely a highlight, and I am excited to come back to try some more drinks at their bar. Having gone to a few upscale Peruvian restaurant in the washington DC area, the ceviche at Social was one of the best I’ve ever had. The grilled octopus was also spectacular. Unlike most places, the octopus is sliced into perfect bite size pieces, and only the best bites are served. I don’t need the entire tentacle if it means the entire plate is full of the perfectly curated bites! Unfortunately, the Filet was not it for me. I think it would have worked much better with a cut that wasn’t so beefy. The entire stir fry just didn’t really meld together. That was the only miss for me though, and all of their other dishes were great. My only other complaint is that the actual layout of the restaurant felt a bit too open. If you sit at a table in the center of the room, you feel incredibly exposed. The space feels more optimized for private events, with the bar as the focus, but when using it as a dining room, I think some partitions could be added to make room feel less chaotic and unfocused.
Best restaurant in the northshore to eat and have fun at the same time. The atmosphere and service it’s top notch. Visit them on Thursdays if you want to try exquisite sushi. My husband and I went for date night and were blown away by the food, service and atmosphere. The food was perfection. The paella was the best I have ever tasted. The food was so pretty I didn’t want to disturb it! Our server was kind and helpful and absolutely added a personal touch to the amazing experience. If I could give it ten stars I would!!
5 stars all around. We came in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered several dishes and all were enjoyed. The service was outstanding. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and had detailed information on the ingredients and preparation methods. The beef short ribs were delicious. Several other dishes had unique flavors not found in other, local restaurants. For example, the plantains had a spicy finish that was a nice touch. The guacamole had an almost umami finish, which was different (in a good way) than I expected. The atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon was perfect: hip, but lowkey.
Outstanding Experience -food, atmosphere, and service!!! Ceviche Carretillero was my absolute favorite. The Salmon sashimi and guacamole were also must haves. The cremoso chocolate and tres leches were perfect desserts. Caroline was our server, she was very knowledgeable about the menu, was attentive, and made great recommendations. Will definitely be coming back. Perfect spot for date nights and celebrations. P.s. My kids also love their chicken fried rice -verbal children’s menu. :)
Amazing from start to finish. The cocktails were 10/10. We had the Caesar salad, guacamole, salmon, social ceviche, burger, chocolate dessert. I could not pick a favorite because they were all lovely. Will be back to try more very soon. Edit: The food was so good we went back the next day and they did not disappoint. This trip we got the Pulpo Anticuchero and the Ceviche Carretillero. Both were our new favorite dishes. Obsessed with the place.

Amazing experience. Food & service were wonderful. My husband did the 5 course tasting menu & it was divine. In his words, it was a food journey of deliciousness. I had the wok fried rice & added the filet for an extra $12. I expected to get a couple of small pieces of meat because the add on price was so low. It came with a full filet cut up on the dish. Definitely Prime beef. The drinks were creative & refreshing. We are from out of town, but would come to Madisonville just to eat here again!!!
My experience with Social was unforgettable, not only because of the restaurant, but because of the time and memories I got to share this evening with some very dear friends. I brought along a friend from New York, and another from China that both happened to be visiting me. They praised and praised the restaurant, but for me, I was smiling ear to ear the entire night knowing that my friends were just having a great night. Social is not only a restaurant that serves up food, it expertly serves up memories for its guest to create through their excellent hospitality, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere. From the moment me and my party walked in, the hospitality was on another level. We genuinely felt taken care of the entire time, never once did we need to ask for anything, because our needs were met before we even realized we had them. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and a genuine pleasure to talk to, which made the experience feel effortless and welcoming. The food was nothing short of unbelievable. Every single dish delivered. The tartar was lively and textured, bursting with freshness. The yuca fries were perfectly soft and savory. The salmon sashimi was delicate and silky. The ceviche was zesty and punchy in the best way. The pesto pasta with chicken was rich, comforting, and executed flawlessly. And the octopus, a layered symphony of char, spice, and deep comfort that completely stole the show. The cocktails were clearly crafted with care and intention. Each one felt thoughtful, and our waiter gave fantastic recommendations (especially helpful for an indecisive friend, who ended up loving their choice!) This visit truly solidified this restaurant as one of, if not the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the service, to the atmosphere, to the food itself, everything deserves the highest praise. An unforgettable experience all around, and one that I can not wait to repeat.

Everything came out on time and tasted to perfection anytime I get a chance now I wanna make sure to let everyone know how absolutely amazing this place is!!! Highly recommend!
If I could give more than 5 stars to Social, I absolutely would. The food was simply delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with such warmth and hospitality that truly makes you feel at home. My top recommendations are the Social ceviche and the arroz con mariscos, authentic Peruvian cuisine and a true explosion of flavors in every bite. We had a fantastic time celebrating my birthday at Social! The food was incredible and the overall environment has a great vibe. A special shout-out to Rosa! The food was both unexpected and outstanding. I’m thrilled we have a place like this here. A different flavor profile and atmosphere from our normal local fare. Lots of bright fresh flavors paired in really unique ways. The Inca Soul cocktail was very good as well. Our server Sarah took the time to explain any unfamiliar ingredients (which were alll great) and made reallly good recommendations. Already trying to decide who we want to bring her with us next time.

From the moment we walked in, you could feel how much pride and care goes into this restaurant. Our server Farrah was phenomenal. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel at home. It’s clear she cares about the guests and about the restaurant, and that kind of service makes such a difference. The Arroz con Mariscos absolutely outstanding! By far the best Paella I’ve had. It was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Every bite felt thoughtfully crafted. We also had a Pisco Sour and an Inka soul. These are easily some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. What really topped off the experience was when the manager Sarah came by to chat with us. She was so welcoming and passionate about the restaurant, and it was clear how much heart she puts into the place. Hearing her talk about the concept and learning about the upstairs bar made the night feel even more memorable. You can tell this is a restaurant that values hospitality, quality, and creating a genuine experience for its guests. That combination is rare, and it’s what makes places like this stand out. Huge compliments to the entire team. We will ABSOLUTELY be back and will be recommending it to everyone.

I had high hopes for Social and made reservations weeks in advance, so I was pretty disappointed when I still had to wait about 40 minutes upon arrival. That definitely put a damper on the experience right off the bat. That said, the Guacamole Herb appetizer was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It really set the tone for the food, which overall was pretty solid. My main dish was tasty and well-prepared, so no complaints there. I just wish the front-of-house experience matched the quality of the food. If the wait time improves, I’d definitely be open to going back.
Tried this restaurant for the first time with a friend, and honestly the experience was just okay. From the moment we walked in, the hostess didn’t seem very welcoming. She asked for our name multiple times which we did HAVE a reservation, seated us in the corner, then came back again to ask our name once more, which was a bit off-putting. The food portions weren’t great either; if you’re looking for something filling, this is definitely NOT the place. It felt more like sampling food than actually having a meal. I understand fine dining and smaller portions, but I’ve been to other fine dining restaurants that offered better portions and much better hospitality. Just my honest experience.”
Wouldn’t go back if it was free. If you are looking to pay 100 dollars or more for mediocre food cooked by chefs with an aversion to seasoning look no further! I had the privilege of paying 109 dollars before tip! I ordered chickens wings, received 6 which is fine, but each wing was 60% of un rendered fat. I’m an avid gum chewer (usually opt for spearmint) but this was a new flavor I wouldn’t recommend. Interesting that the executive chef was highlighted on the website for being “a key role” in getting his former restaurant on the Michelin guide. Must have been Michelin Tires with how chewy these were. But don’t worry, while my jaw was wrestling that chicken fat my sister in law was waiting 15 mins for her entree when we had all received ours already only to find out another server had taken it. (We were told this happens on the reg…yikes!) But don’t worry when the entree came her steak was so raw a good vet probably could have got it to moo (she ordered it medium). Manager was very apologetic, aside from telling us we booked wrong even though we showed him there wasn’t an outside option at all. Would say the inside was hip and full of vibes but we got sat outside even though we had a reservation two weeks out and google doesn’t specify inside or outside just restaurant or bar, but don’t worry we were told twice we just booked it wrong. And they said even though it was hot outside they would “make sure we have ice in our drinks.” WOW TOP NOTCH SERVICE! There was a buffet outside though, only issue is we were the buffet for mosquitoes. Call me a Karen, but the Social is essentially when your niece or nephew looks at you and says “wanna see a cool trick??” then proceeds to jump two inches in the air and then expect you to be impressed. Yes it’s cute, but I’m not paying 109 bucks before tip for that. But yea, give it a try fam. Or if you want a similar experience just run to Walmart and get frozen fries and wings and don’t season them. It’s cheaper and essentially the same. To give credit, they did comp a few items but overall the experience was awful. We were given a free round of drinks, but don’t worry, they brought the wrong ones. Eating at the Social is equivalent to giving your narcissistic ex a second chance. They give you flowers (a raw steak) then say but why can’t you appreciate that I tried? Then offers you chocolates (free drink) then brings you cheesecake (wrong drink).
