One of the most magnificent restaurants in the Hudson Valley as far as scenery goes, and now new ownership has added some great staff and amazing construction to make this place a continued must-go-to! The bar and mixologists are amazing, and the food equally good. Any bad reviews must come from impatient newcomers looking to be tough on a new owner, or another restaurant not wanting this place to do well. Jude, Ryan and Matthew took great care of us, and the apps, drinks, and main courses did not disappoint. Always a pleasant visit to the Lake!
A total gem! Came here randomly with my husband for dinner as many of our friends have recommended Blu in the past. What an absolute delight!! I felt like I was on a Greek Island, sitting outside overlooking the horizon at sunset by the gorgeous lake! On top of that, the food was incredible and service top notch. My husband ordered the Blu burger and I had the chicken francese, which were both excellent. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!!
I can’t beleive people gave anything less than 5 stars. The medallion steak was perfect. The octopus was tender. The atmosphere was welcoming and the owner bought us dessert. Everything about this place was perfect for a romantic dinner with my wife. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back.
We had a party at Lake House and it was amazing. The food, service and staff were exceptional. We were able to take our time and enjoy the picture perfect view of the lake in a private room. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next event.
My friend and I went in for lunch and we were so happy to learn that they served brunch. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by Klej … we weren’t sure what to drink so he suggested we start with a glass of Prosecco with a splash of St. Germain 🥂 I ordered the Egg Benedict and my friend had the Crab Cakes. The bartender was so friendly and personable and insisted we try his espresso martini, which was one of the best I’ve ever had 🍸.
My husband and I made reservations for Wednesday at 6 PM. We were skeptical because the reviews on Yelp were hit or miss. We also knew it was a little pricey but we decided to take a chance. We were met by a lovely Smiling valet, our waiter Richie was a delight. The Branzino was spectacular the short ribs we're amazing. The plates were elegantly presented. The wine the Irish coffee the limoncello and the desserts Were excellent. The views were fantastic. The decor was simple With A Touch of Elegance. The Ambiance was casual but classy. There was a lot of attention to detail with respect to the service. I live 10 minutes away and had never been. I'm guessing I'll be returning.
Went to Lakehouse with a party of 4 and was a totally enjoyable experience with the only exception being they will only serve cocktails they have on the menu. The branzino, filet of sole, chicken martini, paella were all delicious! The clam chowder, crab cake, chicken dumplings, and calamari were very good but I would prefer an aioli with the calamari instead of the commonplace marinara. The wait staff were attentive and apologetic for inability to serve the drink I preferred but that was the only primary negative of the evening. The ‘housemade’ desserts may be skipped on next visit since not great, more mediocre.
Loved it! The Caesar salad is delicious. The dressing is such a unique flavor it’s my absolute favorite. Best Caesar salad in the county that I’ve tried so far! Great ambiance. Beautiful scenery by the water.
This restaurant is amazing. I had my daughters baby shower here. I was very happy with the outcome. The service was incredible. The staff was exceptional. They were very accommodating, professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone having a party, lunch with friends or a date night. The views are gorgeous everywhere you look. I will definitely be back
Called in for a reservation, the hostess made it painless and easy. Beautiful view on the water. We received our three course meal promptly and each course was very delicious. The staff was super friendly as well as accommodating… we will be coming back more often and we are definetly looking forward to it! The new renovations in the restaurant are stunning, we were very impressed by the ambience and the decor! Thank you!
Very beautiful place in the day time and also when the sun is setting, on the water, good food, friendly service, just not a fan of the yellow lighting after the sun goes down, made it hard to see what I was served and gave me a bit of a headache. You can see the yellow lighting in the pictures.
The setting was incredible and the food was enjoyed by all. When I shared my gluten allergy the chef prepared the seared tuna special of the day with expertise. It was delicious. My party enjoyed the food and setting so much they inquired about the restaurant’s event space. The food and lake side view make this restaurant a great destination for anyone in the Westchester, Connecticut, Hudson Valley region.
Beautiful dining room with lots of light and floor to ceiling glass doors that open right on Lake Mahopac. The food was excellent, we had salmon and red snapper and both were cooked to perfection. House made dessert and signature cocktails were also wonderful. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The parking lot is tight but they have valet parking.
What a pretty restaurant to go to for lunch or brunch.. The view is so pretty. I didn't expect food to be great but 9 out of the 10 of us LOVED our meal. I had the Bronzino and it was delic. Few ppl shared so the kitchen split the dishes for us which was so helpful. They were also generous portions. Waiters were so nice and so patient. It was a great experience.
I just hosted my small 11 person wedding at Blu and it was really special. From the beginning they were extremely accommodating. The food is amazing, you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. We had the option of 3 amazing dishes, several apps, the service was great and the drinks strong :) Thank you Blu for providing a beautiful venue on the water. The day could not have gone better.
Blu is a local favorite of ours. My husband and I travel extensively and are fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy dining in wonderful restaurants. Blu delivers that same exceptional experience right in our neighborhood. Their food is consistently delicious with high quality ingredients and the wait staff is very attentive and welcoming. We have pretty much tried most of their menu and have always felt delighted with the high quality they deliver. In addition to the food, their sauces are absolutely amazing as are their cocktails and wine menu. Blu also offers a perfect location with breathtaking and fabulous views of Lake Mahopac. In the summer, we enjoy coming into the restaurant on our boat. In the winter, the roaring fire creates a warm and cozy ambiance. We absolutely LOVE their menu so much that we decided to have our wedding ceremony and reception there this past October and could not have asked for a more perfect event!! Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was and how well the staff managed and serviced our party. We had a cocktail hour, sit down formal dinner, open bar with well over 70 people and their service was absolutely impeccable! The owners, manager and chef meticulously and professionally worked through every detail with us to ensure everything went smoothly to make our event even more memorable and they over delivered!!! They were incredibly accommodating. Valet service also wonderfully managed the large volume of cars we had. I highly recommend Blu for any dining experience, happy hour and any special events (personal or business) you may be planning. We are looking forward to our next delicious meal there!
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. This place is absolutely incredible - between the atmosphere, the food and the service. I was extremely surprised to experience the best of it all on a holiday after expecting it to be packed and overrun. Maybe we got lucky with people away for the weekend, but I would come here 10 times over anytime during the summer. Prime spot for a beautiful sunset, all tables get an amazing view, great drinks, music and food - can't ask for anything better especially considering the shameful lack of water-front options we have in the Westchester/Putnam area. We were treated so well - special shoutout to Nicole, our amazing hostess for accommodating our request for front row seats to the fireworks show. Highly recommend the fried calamari, chicken dumplings and eggplant rollatini for apps! Can't wait to be back.
I took a friend here for a quiet afternoon lunch. It was perfect! The food was delicious and plentiful. We were not rushed and were able to enjoy the meal and the beautiful lake. The gentleman who served us and a younger waiter were both pleasant and unobtrusive. We will be back!
The food here was outstanding. I was choosing between multiple dishes and the waiter recommended the short ribs. These were extremely tender and the pasta was unbelievable. The service was impeccable and the lakeside views were breathtaking.
This was my second visit to the Lake House, the last time it was packed and today I got lucky due to the snow. I walked into an empty restaurant and had the bartender Jenna all to myself. She was wonderful! We had great conversations. She made excellent recommendations on each item that peaked my curiosity. She checked on me while making drinks constantly for a big private party. The food was exceptional. The seafood was fresh, the coffee strong taking me back to my time in Italy, the drinks presentation flawless, the vibe perfect, and the music perfect. The Lake House is a diamond and westchester gem! I highly recommend it for dinner or private parties. Thank you Jenna for making my dining experience wonderful!
We stopped by the Lake House on our way through Mahopac. We have not been here for many years! We loved the changes that were made to the restaurant itself and you cannot beat the view of the sun going down over the lake! It was as great as we remembered! We were greeted immediately upon entering and our server, Fatim G, could not have been more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the rack of lamb, the black pepper tuna salad and the linguini with white clam sauce! Delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly! The martinis were made perfectly with their little floating ice chips on top. We ordered the profiteroles (three in the order) for dessert. They were filled with ice cream and the chocolate on top was wonderful - and were a treat from our server!! win-win!! We will be sure to go back when the weather is a bit warmer so we can sit outside! Great dinner with friends, great view, service and food! We will be back for sure! It is worth the trip if you are looking for a great spot on the water with great food and service!!
Absolutely OUTSTANDING food and service. The setting is gorgeous! We came in as first timers coming off the soccer field and dinner was timely and delicious. They went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter’s food allergy, which i sincerely appreciate. We will absolutely be back.
Beautiful scenery and lovely severs. Great to see mountains and boats while enjoying a cocktail
I loove everything about this place for a sunmer meal. My most favorite meal is this super thin and lightly breaded chicken they have, over a fresh arugula and cherry tomatoe salad. The view, the fantastic food, we certainly make the trip for this place.
My husband and I visited this lake view restaurant for our anniversary. It was perfect! The staff was professional and friendly. Everything we ordered was made to perfection. They gifted us a limoncello after dinner. Thank you so much for making this a memorable experience. We will definitely be back with friends
Our Waiter Nick was very attentive given it was Father’s Day and filled to capacity. All of The staff are dressed cleanly and present themselves well. Food was well prepared & Delicious. The view is amazing Dining Room open to the Lake along side docking. 10/10 I would definitely recommend.
The food here was delicious, and perfect enough that you’re right on the lake with spectacular views!
Wonderful dining experience! Very attentive waitstaff, delicious appetizers, outstanding entrees, tasty desserts, great drinks, beautiful views! Highly recommend!
Came here tonight with my parents for my first time and the food was great. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive as well. I ordered an espresso martini and the sirloin steak, which were fantastic. My family and I look forward to our next meal here.
I have been to this restaurant a few times. The first time, I found it while searching for a restaurant on Google Maps while passing through Ashburton. I was surprised to see such a restaurant in that area. The lake views are amazing. The staff are super friendly, and the food is second to none. The prices are on the higher side, but the prices match the quality. I have tried different dishes from their menu, and all were delicious. Have tried their cocktails as well. Highly recommended.
We spent Saturday evening at The Lake House restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised! The ambience was amazing and our drinks and food were on point! Recommendations: the branzino, the mussels and the Huckleberry lemonade! The owner checked in on us and sent over some after dinner drinks. What a pleasant surprise! Before summer ends, find a beautiful weather night and enjoy this local gem.
We have been looking to come here for a while and now I’m upset it took so long. As expected it is a fantastic setting on the lake and really a beautiful restaurant. The service was very good with a well trained staff. We had the fried calamari, which was one of the best we’ve had in a long time and we both had salmon over a Caesar salad they were well prepared. We look forward to coming back for sure.
You are surrounded by the romantic rose hues of the last days of the solstice, embraced by flavors that are deep-rooted and delicious. There is nothing more romantic than the departure and arrival of perfectly decorated boats, filled with joy, laughter, and tummies full of food. The mouth-watering lobster ravioli can satisfy and seduce your taste buds. While sipping some South African Sauvignon Blanc, you'll be intrigued by the different ducks with exotic patterns. Heart-stopping views and outstanding service are top highlights. Oh wait! Fresh and meaty oysters are a must if they are within your palate.
Nothing short of a 5-star. Since revamp, everything from the decor and food to the staff was great! Even being short staffed they managed to handle a busy dinner with 2 parties very well. Kudos to the staff! Food… Seafood linguine fra diavalo: 10/10! Great flavor NY Strip Steak: 10/10 cooked perfectly with great portioned side dishes (which these days come à la cart, so a good savings there). Summer Orecchiette: 10:10! Flavorful and Al dente! Caesar Salad was enough for 2. View is beautiful. Can’t rave enough about how impressed I was with the changes. Will definitely be back as much as possible.
Very nice place, looks beautiful after a renovation and the staff is very attentive! We went on an early Friday afternoon and it got quite busy very fast, service and food were great, nonetheless! We ordered mussels, shrimp and grits, and salmon and were not disappointed! Looking forward to coming back and enjoying the great waterfront fining again!
Celebrated my Birthday on June 10. With my fellow Nurses, we had the most delicious lunch. I have had risotto in other places but it was tops here. Branzino was amazing!!! Excellent
Great spot, I had the lobster ravioli which was delicious. Went again and had the scallop risotto, it was perfect. My friend had eggplant rollatini which was one of the best iPad in a while.
We had a lunch here for my cousin’s christening. The leaves are just starting to change and our lake view was gorgeous! Fantastic Italian appetizers, pasta starter and meal! The sauces were wonderful, the wait staff were responsive, and they were able to accommodate several high chairs. I only took off a star because the parking is very tight and there is not a lot of it.
My family and I were in the area for a sad circumstance. We were able to get a booking on short notice for a very large group. The Lake House staff did an amazing job with accommodations - even with our number of guests being larger than what was originally anticipated. The food was alright, but the drinks and atmosphere were amazing. Not to mention the unbelievable view of the water as you dine.
5 stars for atmosphere at this pleasantly scenic lake front spot. The food was tasty and good but not anything to get excited about. The service was inconsistent and mediocre. If a table busser is asked a question they don't know the answer to, they should get the server. I see a pattern with restaurants that have a view, they often lack other components to match the excitement of the view. View is just not enough. Mussels were tasty, Caesar salad good yet uncreative, crab cake tasty too but was a little lackluster. All in all Lake House has the potential to be 5 star.
Great service, beautiful view! Food was good. The online menu didn’t match the in house menu which was confirmed that they were working on updating and changing it to match so I ended up having to change my appetizer and entree choice. I wanted the meatballs and polenta and the burger but that is no longer served or offered.
The food here is decent... The portions are good for the price so you get what you pay for. Everything is prepared well and tastes fairly fresh. The wait for your orders to reach the table can be a bit long in the tooth but I feel they try to shoot for a more slightly refined approach. Not bad and would return for another visit. The 4 star rating really lends more to location, location, location! The view and ambiance on the floating deck are superb and make the wait times not seem so bad. On a gorgeous day ppl can be seeing on paddle boats from your table along the river's edge. Definitely the biggest draw of the place.
Great location with great lake view. Went for dinner, 2 couples. Wanted to give it a chance despite seeing steep prices on the menu ahead of the visit. The service was great and friendly. It helped that we were the only guests besides a group birthday event in the next room. The spicy diavolo seafood pasta was fine. The salmon, too, but I was a bit overcooked, and I wasn't asked how well I wanted it done. The risotto didn't earn any praise at all. Definitely stay away from this pseudo paella, with soaky wet rice instead of the dry paella rice. The quality of the food was below expectations based on high prices. Hence, if you want to go for the views and atmosphere and don't mind to overpay for food that is not up to pricing level, you may want to go for dinner here.
Very nice place with Very thin steaks. Ribeye was less than 3/4 inch any the filet aupoive was less than an inch and had no pepper corns but came with a brown sauce. When the waiter was asked about it he went into the kitchen, returned and said that’s how we make it. Sorry if you were expecting something else. It’s not easy to get a thin steak medium rare but you could learn to make a pepper sauce or change the menu to explain what your idea of the dish is. Somewhat disappointed.
Went with a group of girlfriends. Was there once before and food was amazing! This time horrible. 4 of us ordered crispy brick chicken….. sounds yummy and crispy. We all sent it back. Looked and tasted like it boiled to make soup. Rubbery skin and presentation forgettable. The doors stay open so it’s fresh air throughout. Well hot evening and the sun going down blared on us leaving us hot, sweaty and squinting. Would go in the fall… not summer. But cautious now because of that dinner.
The view was spectacular and the people working there were polite and attractive. However, the food was disappointing, considering the price. I ordered a hamburger - it was dry. And the fries tasted like they came from a freezer. The dipping oil for the bread was good.
When you enter the restaurant you’re immediately greeted by some of the most stunning views you can find, but unfortunately that’s about where the amazement ends. Have been here twice now and both times the service was not great. Was here on Saturday and we sat for a full 15 minutes before we eventually had to seek out a server to ask for some waters. Waiter did not seem apologetic about the wait time in the slightest. After about another 25 minutes someone finally came back to get our orders for appetizers and entrees. The burrata was fine, although it felt more like a mozzarella it was still very tasty. ,The tuna tartare was unremarkable. Certainly not the sushi grade that was advertised on the menu. The worst disappointment was by far the French onion soup. The onion was definitely under caramelized, leaving the whole soup with an unpleasant, slightly sour note and the cheese square on top was not only charred but gave the feel that someone had chucked a Kraft single on top of the soup and called it a day. Not at all what I would expect from a fine dining experience. I will say that when it comes to entrees we ordered the strip steak and the salmon and both were truly some of the best I’ve had at any restaurant ever. However, once again, these dishes were slightly let down by a rather bland array of sides, and a shockingly dry and chunky mashed potato. Overall if you’re looking for the highest caliber of food and service I cannot say I would recommend this place highly, however if it’s the atmosphere you’re after I would definitely say this place is worth a try.
So the food here is delicious. Ive had the shrimp and grits and blu burger. Both we excellent. Service is a different story. Watched a waiter chase someone to the parking lot because he thought he hadnt been tipped. Waited 1.5 hours for a table even though we made reservations.
Great food BUT they did not have any record of my reservation, they did seat us though. We waited 30 minutes for a waiter to come over, he took our drink order and we waited another 30 minutes before my husband got up to get our drinks from the bar. They ran out of glasses, that was their reason? We got one napkin because that is all the waiter could find???? Great food the place looks great BUT the management needs to get a grip on things. Very unprofessional wait staff. They could've given the drinks my husband had to get for free but nope they didn't care.
Unfortunately their food isn't great but if you want a pretty waterfront restaurant and not a foodie, it's a good option. Not inexpensive! Doesn't even compare to Blu that had amazing food. Hopefully they get a good chef in the near future. Lunch for 3 was 120.00 without cocktails.
This is one of my absolute favorite places and it pains me to say that their food is actually not that good. Though I no longer live in NY when I’m in town, I always go here. The atmosphere and staff are incredible and it’s such a refreshing place to be. The location on the water is stunning and the ambiance is always great vibes. However their food lacks in taste and presentation. Some food on the menu like the appetizers are great and the taste is there but all of their chicken, red meat and even some fish dishes lack flavor. I love recommending this place but the food is bland. I say this in hope that something changes as this is still one of my favorite places.
The restaurant open to the lake-side. Problem: it's a noisy place in the summer with jet skis constantly buzzing by and the wakes causing boats to bounce against the docks. It's pricey for Mahopac: $29 for a Short Rib burger and $14 for a glass of wine!
Beautiful location, right on the lake. We went for lunch, I can only imagine how beautiful it is at sunset. Service was very slow and I’m not sure why. There wasn’t a lot of customers; everyone was moving nonchalantly with no care in the world. The food was mediocre at best. The calamari was good, the shrimp was a serving of 3 shrimp and had zero taste. The best thing we had were the fries. Their drinks however, was great. The strawberry martini was delicious and they didn’t skimp on the alcohol. I would return for the view but nothing else. I was really hoping we’d like it so we could return during sunset, but highly doubt it.
Had the Calamari appetizer and Filet for my meal. The Calamari was fresh and good but nothing to write home about. The Filet was excellent and cooked to perfection. All the portions are a bit small and the prices are good for Greenwich but not Mahopac. The owners did a magnificent job renovating the place and it is a beautiful place for a meal by the water.
Personally had the shrimp tacos (3 plus rice), which were good but kind of bland, not wow-good as you would expect for $27. Very disappointing. Others in our party enjoyed seafood linguini and mahi tuna. Appetizers, crispy calamari and grilled octopus were good. There were no daily specials. The restaurant itself was very nice...clean, airy, modern and directly on the water. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Generally, the place and service was nice, but the food is overpriced.
We went there yesterday. It was a really nice place with a beautiful view of the lake. That being said, we were very disappointed. It was extremely overpriced for the quality of food. My wife and I both had the shrimp taco's and there was nothing to them. They were very bland, with hardly and flavor at all. Was so not worth the 45-60 minute drive from Poughkeepsie. They figure just being on the lake is all they have to do. News flash, the food matters! BTW- They also don't have many options on the menu, it's very limited. Will not be returning again, way to expensive for the quality of food they serve
Went there for the first time tonight with a friend. Wish I hadn't. Its really super overpriced. It's right on the lake, and that is the big attraction, but that gets old quickly when the music inside there is blaring, the food is lousy and expensive to boot. Service was also horrible. All we ordered were 2 dinner salads, yet they got that wrong. The salad dressing was missing from my friend's Arugula salad, and the goat cheese was missing from mine. When we asked them for the goat cheese, they came back with more salad dressing. Hahaha... stay away and save your money. By the way, each salad came with about $1 worth of dry, tasteless Arugula, $1 worth of goat cheese, and 25 cents worth of shaved almonds - and charged us $19 per salad.
I planned a nice evening for my mother’s 54 birthday at Blu, party of 10...they were unable to accommodate our large group at requested outdoor seating, which was fine. While we were there, servers changed three times without notification within 30 minutes, and was very confusing. The 3 servers were not attentive. I had to request basic items such as a high chair for my 1 year old and waters for the table. All of our orders were delayed, and upon arrival, missing a meal. Server pulled his mask down numerous times while conversing with us for orders, less than 6 feet apart. Although diners are expected to wear masks even outside. Multiple snide remarks were made to the table, such as, “well, you ordered from the bus boy. What do you expect?” (“Bus boy” not included in with 3 servers.) AND to end the night, after dealing with poor service and 3 hours of our time there, my 7 months pregnant sister was harassed about the tip not being 20% (although we received less than par service) and told, “I usually get 20% but if that’s how you feel, than fine.” Incredible! Gratuity is earned, not just expected. With ruining my mother’s birthday dinner and giving poor service, this server should not have any expectations. I have to give Blu a negative review. We’ve spent our time and a lot of $ at your establishment and deserve a fair dining experience. Basic, minimum.
Amazing views. Unfortunately, it ends there. Manhattan prices with small town chef taste. Pasta was overwhelmingly salty and fish was tough and dry. Service was pompous and rude. No draft beer. They still use the old school 3 foot tall pepper grinder that doesn’t actually grind any pepper. Tv in the background just sitting on the Hulu start screen. It’s all very cheap, but the prices surely are not. Save your money for a nice dinner elsewhere.
The bartender talked to her friends the whole entire time we were sitting at the bar. The restaurant was so hot we were melting. It was soooo hot. We asked to sit inside because we anticipated that they would have AC. A very unpleasant experience!!!!!
We went there last night for my daughter’s graduation. The food was average at best. My meal was not edible. It was the I think called the lake house chicken. Was supposed to be in a brown sauce. The sauce was reddish in color and just not good. The only thing that was good was the calamari. The chicken tenders and fries were not even that good. Food should be plated better if they are going for a fancy look with the prices. When I called to make the reservations the girl on the phone was rude. Our waiter however was amazing!!!!!!!! I wish I remembered his name. I just remember he came from newburg to work there. Awesome service sir.
Walked in and thought this place was going to be great. Down hill from there. Poor service, mediocre food, expensive, very loud, and there were flies. New Zealand lamb chops were medium rare, like ordered, but were tougher than shoe leather. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Chicken franchise had very little sause, not enough for the last couple of bites, let alone any bread. The steak was very good, but priced like a NY Steakhouse. 6 people, 2 beers and 2 drinks, 2 appetizers and dinner was $500.
This was our favorite place to get together with family until this week. The menu didn't offer much, ran out of the appetizer we wanted and the waiter had absolutely no personality. I was tod i was getting two pieces of chicken but only got one. Not the same anymore, very disappointed. Definitely wasn't worth what we paid this time.
Have no idea about how good the food is, never got it. Place wasn't even busy. We waited exactly an hour after ordering before I left a ten for our soft drinks and walked out. Never ever going back there.
Not at all impressed. We waited quite a while for a waiter to take our order, were never offered bread, and my meal, a $19 plate of pasta was watery and I could tell it was sitting out for a while before being served. Also, we were told our meal was delayed because they had a party in another room. Not our problem at those prices. If we weren't treating a family member who recommended it, I would have really complained. Never again.
Normally don't write reviews but felt the need to after this. They served my husband his chicken COMPLETELY RAW. He ate about 1/2 of it but didn't notice the uncooked portion because they dim the lights so low you can't even see your own dinner. The waitress seemed unfazed when I told her. The manager came over and apologized and offered free dessert. Nice gesture but the desserts sucked and had no taste whatsoever. I think I was more dissatisfied with how passive they were about the whole thing. This wasn't a "lets pop it back in the oven" type thing... it was like... health violation code breaking level RAW. If it was my restaurant I would have been mortified.
I rarely leave reviews, but this was an exceptionally poor experience. I called this restaurant and confirmed they were open Monday, December 30th. They told me yes they are, and extended an offer to make a reservation. They confirmed I had a reservation for Monday 12/30. I arrive with my party to a closed restaurant. Lights off, doors locked. I call several times and don’t get so much as an answer, after explicitly taking my reservation for this day. I was forced to scramble to find a different restaurant last minute for my party. Safe to say I will never be dining here, and I’ll be sharing the bad word about this place unless they make some serious efforts to amend the situation. Entirely unprofessional.
Horrible experience. Waited 45 minutes and still no appetizer. I felt bad for the waiter because it wasn’t his fault but nibbling on bread that long with 3 hungry kids sucked. At least they have valet parking though lol 😂 maybe they should bring them in to work the kitchen
I was extremely disappointed with the fact the OWNER would even allow such a thing. It was 95 degree with no AC indoor dinning. My youngest child is 7 and my entire family was so uncomfortable and unable to enjoy our lunch due to the heat wave at this indoor most beautiful lake view place. I feel terribly bad for the ALL WORKERS!!!!!
Ordered food for pickup- 2 out of 5 of our items that we ordered were wrong when we went to eat. I ordered shrimp cocktail which is on their menu on Facebook (one of the only places I could find a menu to order from) and when I went to pick up, I was given a shrimp pasta dish. When I told the server I ordered from their menu on Facebook, I was told “that’s probably 20 years old.” I then asked where to find a current menu and was told “I honestly have no idea.” Decided to forgive that (even though I shouldn’t have had to pay for it since it was their mistake), but then when we went to eat our meal, I realized I received the wrong chicken wrap. We paid $90 for 2 KID meals, 1 (wrong) shrimp pasta dish, 1 (wrong) chicken wrap, and 1 Reuben. NOT worth it. Won’t be back.
I've been here twice since it opened. Once when they first opened and then again just recently. I like to always give places a second chance. You never know what kinks a new place needs to correct, but instead of things getting better, it was worse. The first time we went the food was good but the service was not the best, but tolerable enough. This final time I went, there was nothing good about my experience. To start we waited over 20 min for anyone to come up to the table to even take a drink order. If the place was busy I could understand the wait, but it was visible that it was not. As soon as they came to the table we placed our full order with the server. We didn't receive our drinks until way after they brought us our appetizer. When we did get our drinks most of the ice had melted away. It was also clear that the staff didn't know the table numbers, as they were constantly looking around as to what table the food and drinks belonged to. No one checked on our table once to see how our meal was going or if we liked it, which we did not, or needed another drink. The food had no flavor and my friend's food was cold. We asked for bread 3 times from anyone near us, cause again no one checked on us. We never received any. In the end we needed to go up to the hostess station ourselves to get our check. Which was another fiasco since one knew the table numbers to figure out which bill was ours. We had to go up again when paying our bill. Total mess!! It's unfortunate because I'm a local in the area and used to love going to Blu when it was there. With all the reconstruction they did to make that place look amazing they need to match it with good service and food. Get a consultant in there to get your staff into shape so you can have returning customers. As for now I will not be returning.
Waited 2 1/2 hrs for my food on Mother’s Day worst experience at a restaurant in my life. The waiter was extremely rude and had an attitude. I ordered a glass of wine when my food finally came out and I didn’t receive it till 20 minutes later! On the bright side, the hostess was extremely nice and accommodating for seating.
I made a reservation for two, but when we arrived, we were told that only parties of four or more could be seated inside, even though there were plenty of empty tables available. This policy was never mentioned when we called to book. Very disappointing experience. We ended up leaving.
It’s a shame because it was a Beautiful place. Food had no taste . I ordered a filet mignon medium rare with no sauce and it came out medium well with sauce. Drinks were good I had a strawberry martini it was delightful. Now for service. My waiter stood at the host stand the whole time talking to the host disregarding his section of tables . The bussers are great on top of all the tables maybe the busier should be the waiter , service will be better . All in all the views and the drinks will be the only reason I will go back .
The service was horrible and the waiter never attended to us , we had to ask constantly the hostess to ask for him to take our order after , or get drinks. Never once checked on us except for giving us the check of $300.00! The food came cold and the place was not even busy at Sunday at 4 pm. I would never go back or recommend
This place ruined our night. First, we waited 30 minutes just to sit down at the table we asked for. Now, after another 45 minutes, we still don’t even have our appetizer. No one is checking in, no one is paying attention, and honestly, it feels like they just don’t care. I drove an hour to get here, was excited for this dinner, and instead I’m sitting here upset, hungry, and ready to leave. Horrible service, worst experience.
