We walked in on Christmas Eve, understandably busy and waited for an open table around 45 minutes. Host did such a great job on that busy night. Food was absolutely delicious and came out real fast! We absolutely devoured the brisket fries! Meatloaf was great and flavorful, nice smoked flavor from the grill and a classic cozy beef bourguignon. We had a great time.
What a great place! The food is absolutely phenomenal, the atmosphere is high energy, and the staff is excellent. For dinner, I highly recommend the Elk Chop or the Beef Bouguignon and start with the Market salad, it is a must try!
rison’s is hands down the best restaurant in Mammoth Lakes! The food was absolutely superb — every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. This was truly one of my best dining experiences. Highly recommend t
We loved the relaxed, quiet atmosphere. It's such a different "vibe" from other restaurants we've eaten at in Mammoth. Food options we're all delicious; very creative with a variety of options. We wanted to try them all. Ended up with the Burra and grilled peaches, French onion soup and French onion burger. The mixture of the sweet potato and frites was a delightful combination. The Burra was so fresh, and the soup was rich. We then opted for a dessert coffee drink, and the apple crisp with homemade salted caramel ice cream. None of it disappointed. We loved the soft music, the cozy corner we sat in, and our server, Isreal. Thank you for a lovely dining experience.
Eva was our server. She was fabulous. She gave us the right amount of attention. She provided us with good food recommendations. We recommend the filet burger!
My girlfriend and I spontaneously decided to have dinner here on a Wednesday evening. We walked in with no reservation and the place was packed so we assumed we would not get a table. We did wait about 10 minutes until someone came to greet us at the front but a lovely woman quickly assured us they would clean off a table right away. (I’d suggest booking a reservation ahead of time) once we were sat our experience was lovely. Our server was kind, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was cozy. We did end up getting sat at the table in the very back of the restaurant where you can see inside the kitchen but it’s easy to block out that seeing-behind-the curtain-vibe. All in all we were impressed and I would recommend any friend to dine here! It will be a repeat for us anytime we come to Mammoth!
Nothing more to say than the staff provided excellent service in the 2x my buddy and I visited for dinner. Food was excellent especially the Elk steak. The Negroni was made right as well. Also Rachel was a fantastic bar tender.
The best restaurant we ate at during our trip to Mammoth Lakes by far! A very nice, relaxing, and delicious meal, with excellent service. I ordered a Manhattan which was generous and very tasty. The beef stroganoff dish was delicious and very satisfying after a long day of hiking at Devil's Postpile. For desert I ordered the warm chocolate brownie a la mode, which was also very good. The wine list was excellent also. We had a split of the L'Ecole Syrah which was perfect for the meal. I'll definitely return on my next visit to the area!
I always stop at Morrison's when I visit Mammoth Lakes! The filet mignon with blue cheese crumbles, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, roasted chicken with creamy garlic sauce, roasted beet and goat cheese salad, rosemary bread, apple pie of the day (I recommend ordering two slices - one for dessert and one for breakfast) and house made vanilla ice cream is a winning combination. Absolutely delish! The staff is always friendly and the order is quick and hot.
Been here several times this year and over the many years. I love their food, I normally only have appetizers. Cocktails are excellent also. Customer service has always been good.
Dave was awesome! Very friendly and engaged in personable conversation. Food was delicious and portions were perfect. Not too big but enough food. Would come back!
We made reservations here through OpenTable for a nice dinner to celebrate our honeymoon! We have no regrets! The food was phenomenal as was the customer service! We will return on our next trip to mammoth!

Good Bartending ! The Ribeye is a great Amazing house made ice cream. Wow
had an amazing pre pedalpalooza ride in Mammoth at Morrisons. Service and food was amazing. after an epic meal of Caesar Wedge salad with homemade dressing, barramundi cooked to perfection i finished with homemade strawberry ice cream. check them out —best restaurant in town
Really can't say enough about how lovely my experience has been at Morrison's (and I've been there twice now!) Each time we've had prompt, attentive service and absolutely incredible food. Between both visits we've tried more than half the menu and each dish was just as fantastic as the last. Dessert was ridiculously good as well, they even have homemade ice cream that they make locally down at Convict Lake. This is appropriate given that Henry Morrison was the banker killed by the convicts where the lake gets it's name! Atmosphere was quiet, intimate, and still light enough for a great conversation to go along with the food. The artwork in the place is lovely too. My personal favorite has been the Pistachio Pesto, it's cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious by my friends loved the ribs and carne asada. Our last visit the owner personally attended our table initially and he was friendly and boisterous. We've gone there for two birthdays now and I'll certainly be back each time I visit Mammoth. Definitely a fantastic place all around!
The first time I went here with my wife, the salad was really good the veal was ok and the fish special was good. The 2nd time I went here I got the ribeye and was very surprised how good it was. I was stuffed but kept eating till it was gone. I tried many other things on the menu as we had a large group. No one got the veal but the blackened halibut special was very good this time. Everything was perfect. Everyone in our group was happy. So I was a little disappointed the first time... I think the food sat on the counter too long.... The second time we waited a for the food longer but it was worth the wait. We were an unusually large group they made an exception for so the extra wait was understandable. I will definitely go back. Good restaurants in Mammoth are hard to find. Not cheap but I was impressed. Of the places I have eaten, Lakeside in Mammoth is the only other restaurant I think might be a little better. My 2 cents.
The bartender Tammy was great. This Bartender knows how to keep the crowd happy and create a great atmosphere. Great Happy Hour! Had great service. Have the wings, they have a great flavor and spicy. We also had the onion rings , which were exceptional. Burger, garlic fries were also good.
Morrisons was the best dining experience that we've had this season at Mammoth. Service is kind and on point. I am a vegan and they didn't hesitate to make a delicious accommodation from the nightly special. Our party enjoyed ourselves immensely and everyone loved the food. And I did not go home hungry. :)
!!! Excellent - Crusine, Service, Drinks!!! The Chef - Is a Genius!!! The Hamachi Tostadas was an Explosion of Fresh, Delicious Levels of Flavors!!! The Beef Stroganoff, was Exactly Prepared "Comfort food " and Very Delicious, Tender Beef & Fettuccini, Mushroom & Cream!!! The Barramundi - Asian Seabass dinner was my dinner. Outstanding!!!! The Seabass was Absolutely Delicious!!! Tender, no bones, Good size portion of Fresh Fish, Grilled!!! It came with a Chili Ponzu sauce. For me, I like a little more Zing!!! 'Pedro' our Attentive Waiter, (after I expressed myself) brought to me the same sauce they use on the Hamachi Tostadas - the Jalapeno Cilantro Soy Vinegar sauce -so that I can enjoy it as well on my fish!!!! Brilliant Idea !!! It sent my tastebuds, over the top in Happiness with each bite !!!! The Dessert my husband & I shared was the "Warm Chocolate Chip Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, so Perfect , and not too Sweet!!!! We enjoyed our Drinks of Long Island Ice Teas, prepared by 'Dave', Perfect!!!! We were,Warmly greeted by Dave when we first arrived in the evening!!! Pedro - our waiter was very attentive & pleasant, enjoyed his job!!! Great Service here Overall!!! Definitely, will come back & Recommend to Others as well!!! Much Appreciation to "All" the Staff, for providing my Husband & A Wonderful Dining Expierience!!!! Sincerely, Sabrina & Ricky Defosses
Filet was excellent and perfectly medium rare. Veggies were a tad under cooked and the chive mash needed a dash of salt, but otherwise a wonderful dinner. Maple cocktail was amazing as well.
Cozy place, very professional staff especially the young boy and our server~ David who’s very knowledgeable about the menus. The food was served in a timely manner even though it looks like they’re short staffed. Overall, everything is great! 👍
The staff were all very nice despite us showing up on a busy night without reservations. (Recommend reserving in advance). We were able to get a seat at the bar and proceeded to have an incredible time. We ordered cocktails and small plates and everything was delicious. Rachel must be the best bartender in Mammoth. Certainly the coolest person I’ve ordered from in the last decade or so.
Had some lovely cocktails and some appetizers for happy hour. Service was excellent, food and drinks were delicious. Was able to have lovely conversation with friends over drinks in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend if looking for classier place in town!
Wow! We loved everything about this restaurant. The atmosphere, layout, service, drinks, and food. We had 4 people in our party. We all ordered various steaks, ribeye, prime rib, and filet mignon. Everyone was very happy with their food. I love their veggies and mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was the best one I’ve had - anywhere. Dessert was awesome (brownie with homemade ice cream with berry and dark chocolate). Looking forward to coming back the next time we are in Mammoth. Sorry I did not get our waitresses name (blonde gal - very nice), but she was awesome.
We were in Mammoth for a short time and the reviews made this look like a place to get a good steak. It was! I had great ribeye, my husband had the salmon and said it was very good to. Generous portions- we split the beet and goat cheese salad and it was plenty. Very good cocktails. Excellent service-Dave was our server and being the off season- he was covering the entire room. He never appeared rattled or rushed us in any way. Cute alpine decor with fireplace. Small-Definitely would need a reservation in a busier season.
Service was fantastic with no wait. The beef stroganoff was just what I needed after a day of skiing. Hearty and tasty with an ample amount of beef. The beet salad was delicious.
Our family was able to obtain Morrison's for a private event in August of this year. The group was about 20 people in all. The menu was prepared in advance and printed beautifully for selection. From salads, salmon, chicken, and filet mignon the food was delicious. The servers outstanding. The atmosphere perfect. The management team that afternoon was fantastic. We can't thank them enough.
Place was packed, but they were hustling and getting the job done. We recognize and respect that. Also, food was fantastic. A little pricey maybe overall, but for where you're at and for what you're getting. Definitely at point. Loved our meal there and absolutely enjoyed the waitstaff. Thanks for a great experience.
David was our waiter and he was wonderful! We had the best primerib.
Great local restaurant with high quality ingredients and amazing food. Enjoyed dinner at the bar. Staff is extremely friendly and give excellent food pairing suggestions with premium cocktails. I accidentally left a small satchel but when I called they had it placed to the side. They were also kind enough to even ship it to my home, since I'm from LA county. I've enjoyed premium restaurant's across the nation and Morrison's customer service goes above and beyond for their patrons. I will definitely be returning.
Great service and great food. Our waiter was very attentive and familiar with the menu. Nice basket of warm bread to start. Highly recommend making reservations. We did not however they were able to give us a table in the bar area.
One of my wife and I's favorite restaurants in Mammoth for dinner is Creamy Garlic Chicken. My wife's favorite chicken dish! I usually go for one of the specials, or the Ribeye or Filet mignon. They never disappoint. Be sure to try the Jalapeno-Infused Mango Margarita as well!
Mashed potatoes and filet mignon are the best! My kids loved the brownie and vanilla ice cream dessert.
Overall experience was great! Service was excellent as were most meals. The beet salad and Caesar salad was delicious and I recommend them. The Ribeye and Filet were both delicious and you can't go wrong with either. The restaurant was clean and warm and allowed for conversation during dinner. The do have very limited parking.
Wife researched a few places to eat while in town, and must say, she picked wisely. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender, immediately, as we arrived at opening. With her first opening greeting, knew immediately the experience would be outstanding, based on recognizing great service. Why? It was apparent, she was a seasoned bartender, understands people, and came across sincere and genuine, without any attitude or aloofness you find in some establishments. It seemed to us, she cared. That set the stage. We had a table reserved at 6, but after our experience at the bar, and by that time she introduced herself as Rachel and asked our names, we wanted to stick around and enjoy her service through dinner and trying additional crafted cocktails she had put together. The drinks, absolutely spot on. The maple old fashioned. Perfect. Her martini’s, yes, with blue cheese stuffed olives done on prem, again, perfection. Even the huckleberry martini, wow, fantastic. The food, yes, right on the money. Got the carne asada, everything cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri was flawlessly tasty. Wife had the beet salad to start (she said it was the second-best salad she’s ever had, first being Houston’s Kale salad, and if you’ve had it, you’ll understand). Her main was the Beef Strogonoff. Oh my. Now that was incredibly yummy and so fresh. A tad rich, but in a good way actually. I can’t recall ever having a better Beef Stroganoff, personally. But let me repeat this, if it wasn’t already clear, Rachel, our bartender is no doubt one of the best bartenders we’ve experienced. Now, we all have good and bad days, but if this is the standard issue Rachel, just blown away by the genuine concern for making our visit there warm, welcoming, and just so ever pleasant. She makes you feel like family and understands just how to conversate and do so without any effort. It’s natural to her and she’s an absolute asset to anyone who happens to employ her. If we owned and operated a restaurant, that’s exactly who we’d want running our bar. When in town next, we can guarantee you, we’ll be back. To be honest, even if the food and or atmosphere wasn’t that good (and again, it was), we’d come back, just because the service was just that awesome. Well done Rachel @ Morrisons! As the saying goes, when everything is firing on all cylinders at a place of service, “here, take my money”!
One of the best spots we've had so far in mammoth. The food was awesome and the service was spectacular. Our waiter was very helpful and willing to accommodate us and answer any questions. Will for sure be back!
Dinner and service was great. This is a great spot to have small bites, a full dinner, or just have dessert and cocktails. It is slightly over priced, but worth a visit. Gratuity is added for you at 20%. Staff was nice and quick and there is a good size menu with options for most. The seafood soup was my favorite.
Had an amazing dinner at Morrison's recently. Made a reservation, which is key as they book up quickly. They had a special of sea bass with a zucchini puree, which sounded really interesting and turned out to be delicious! I have a no-grain dietary restriction, so finding creative veggie-only accompaniments can be difficult. The puree had a touch of red pepper flakes that gave it a wonderful bit of spice and the sea bass was cooked to perfection. My husband had the stroganoff and said it was great. We have always had great food and service and will definitely keep coming back.
My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary after a long day of boarding at the mountain. We both got the same thing… tuna tower for a starter and the filet. Both were amazing, the filet was cooked perfectly (med/rare) with a delicious bourbon sauce and blue cheese crumbles. My brown sugar old fashioned was perfection and a heavy pour ;) The server was attentive and nice, very knowledgeable and gave us great service for a special night. He even let me try out just a little taste test of their homemade cherry/chocolate espresso bean ice cream and it was AMAZING. The atmosphere was a a homey feel snuggled into the mountains with a nice fire place. Would recommend for a date night.
Be ready for some great food and atmosphere. Kc was our waiter. He treated us very well. The ribeye was perfectly cooked to the medium rare we wanted. Thank you morrisons........for a real good time!
Low-key vibe, attentive service, and drinks did not skimp on the liquor. Steak, lamb, burger, and bone marrow were all phenomenal. The best experience I’ve had dining in mammoth!
We started the night with the Caesar salad and goat cheese & beets salad, both enough for two! For entrees we had the ribeye and salmon and both were delicious! The desserts were HUGE!! The S’mores Cheesecake and Brownie were perfect to round up the night! Definitely a dinner spot you don’t want to miss when you’re here!!
Great food! Especially want to mention the Beef Bourguignon; eating it was like a warm hug on a chilly, winter day. Gabby took excellent care of us - she was very attentive, kind, knowledgeable and welcoming!
All the food that we ordered was amazing! Order that Ribeye fries, trust me. 😋 Drinks was also great! Friendly people. Make a reservation they get busy.
Israel was an incredible host. Polite. Attentive. Food was outstanding. Prompt, hot, delicious. I ordered an espresso martini as well and it was delicious, and they weren’t stingy with ingredients! It was a little too dark for me personally but overall I loved the vibe. It was also loud but that’s because a big group was in there and they were having a great time! The standout of the night was the service. Israel was great, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu items, and came back and checked on us often without being obnoxious. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting Mammoth who wants a nice dinner. It was our 7th wedding anniversary and it was a great way to spend it.

Over all a great experience. What is up with the brown paper table cloth? That did seem out of place. Mai Tai was good, we need better knives to cut the bread. Both potatoes were delicious. The white plate in my photo was not hot however the blue plate was served hot. The veggies were not very hot

Morrison’s was a great find for the five of us who were there last weekend. The food was well prepared and delicious. The service was attentive by Chris. Neil, the manager was moving around making sure that all is flowing well. We loved the Braised Lamb Shank and the different fish on their menu.
Cozy atmosphere with the fireplace going. We sat in the bar. There are several 2 tops or bar seating. Morrison mule was tasty. The burgers are outstanding. I skipped the fries and opted for the apple slaw. I wasn't disappointed. The ribs and barimundi looked good.
I was seriously jonesing for a steak during a family vacation in Mammoth Lakes and a friend of my wife recommended Morrison's. Walking in, the vibe was dark with a fireplace and we were seated in a corner booth, so a great start. The menu was simple with a fair number of options, though I only had eyes for the Filet Mignon. Others in my party ordered elk, salmon and barramundi and were very pleased. They even had a children's menu and crayons, thank God for my adventurous pasta with butter eating children. My filet with blue cheese crumbles was cooked to a perfect medium rare, on the rare side. The mashed potatoes and side vegetables were on point. The entire entree was a classic. I proceeded to wash that down with a warm chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream. Talk about a happy camper. Special call out to our server David, who was patient, amusing and attentive to a relatively high-maintenance group. You won't be disappointed.
The family and I had fantastic steaks at this place. They were cooked perfectly which, to be frank, was surprising. I tend to have low expectations of "nice" restaurants in mountain towns. But Morrison's surprised with both great food and good service. The wine list was pretty solid too. Call me impressed and happily fed.
Very good food! Everything we ordered was delicious. We were last party to come, and that was probably the reason we had a little bit of wait for everything. The only downside of this place was that it was very chill inside. We had to wear jackets, and food was getting cold fast as well.
I wanted a nice meal and that's what I got. I was alone and was seated immediately at a high top in the bar. The bartender was busy but got to me without much of a wait. I ordered a beet salad and the stroganoff. Both were excellent. Too much food for one person but it was so good I devoured it all.
Maybe this won't be the most comprehensive review since I only really had dessert but the dessert was very very good. To start, the host was so accommodating of our last minute request that we'd like to grab dessert right at closing. We got our creme brulee and brownie in good time and it was all super ultra yummy. The creme was some of the thickest, sweetest we've had (maybe slightly too sweet) but the crust cracked with such a satisfying crunch. Craving super satisfied!!
Really nice meal here. The server was really nice and prompt and the meal was lovely. The wine was OK but the appetizers stole the show. The hamachi tower with quail egg was truly excellent as was the best salad. The Cajun chicken pasta was shockingly delicious and the scallops was equally good. Would definitely recommend and would go back myself. my friend had the lamb shank and said it was fantastic also.
Good food, fair prices, great service, solid place to eat in Mammoth. Had a great experience at Morrisons, probably the only good meal we had while dining out on the mountain. Had the ribeye and elk and enjoyed both entrées. Food was cooked to perfection, our server was excellent, drinks were definitely on the stiff side, one or two martinis and you’re out for the count. Only thing preventing it from getting a five star is that the menu is definitely dated, decor definitely doesn’t fit “upscale steakhouse”, and the cocktail program could use an uplift. Would I eat here again, absolutely.
Made reservations on Open Table to celebrate our friend's birthday here. I also called to let the host know that we were celebrating a birthday and if that can be noted. We arrived and were greeted warmly by our host and seated at a table in front of the fireplace. The restaurant is very small and cozy. Our server took our drink orders and brought out a bread basket. We all ordered the following: - Soup of the day (loaded baked potato) - short rib fries - oven roasted Frenched chicken breast - chicken Parmesan - pan seared chinook salmon - shrimp scampi There was a small hiccup when my 10-year-old son noticed another table had been served chicken tenders and fries. We weren't offered a kids' menu, so he had ordered chicken Parmesan from the regular menu. Not a huge issue, but it would have been nice to know kid-friendly options were available. Unfortunately, service timing became more of a problem toward the end of the meal. After we had mostly finished eating, our server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We said yes, and I gently reminded her we were celebrating a birthday. When she returned, she brought a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle (very thoughtful gesture!) but our dinner plates, empty glasses, and general table clutter were still in front of us. We also still hadn't seen the dessert menu we'd asked for, which made the moment feel rushed and a bit awkward. Needless to say, our server seemed to catch on that I was disappointed in the service towards the end of our meal. It seemed like she was the only server on the floor, too, which probably explained the lack of attentiveness and timing issues. Overall, the food was alright and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was an okay dining experience but the service could definitely use some improvement. For a restaurant with higher menu prices and a more upscale presentation (linen napkins, cozy ambiance, etc.), the level of service didn't quite match my expectations. I would still return as it could've just been an "off" night and their martinis were great!

Food was great! Service was bad but not the waitress fault seemed like she was covering too many tables and other employees seemed like they needed more to do. Definitely understaffed or management issue. I probably would have kept drinking if she was able to bring my drinks in a timely manner. Also, found hair in my food. But once brought to her attention she brought a fresh plate and comped a round of drinks.
Good service and atmosphere. I ordered a pasta dish. The sauce was sweet which is not my favorite. Parking was easy and no waiting for a table.
I've eaten here a couple times and the food and service were great. Giving them 3 stars today because we had reservations for 5:30 and got there a little early, parked and went for a walk. On our walk they called us to say they had a broken dishwasher and would probably not be opening for the evening, which was totally understandable and fine. But then we got back to our car and there was a note written on a restaurant order pad stuck in our windshield that said "Morrison's Parking Only". ...seriously? Come on, we were planning on patronizing the restaurant and it wasn't our fault they cancelled our reservation. Post a private parking sign or give up leaving the snotty notes on cars.
Unfortunately, I can't give a positive review. We were really excited to eat there after a full day of skiing. The service was not good, because our server was new and didnt know the menu very well, she kept forgetting things. But more so, we were very disappointed in the food. If I had to describe it, I would say, it tasted more like a cafeteria food. We got chicken wings, that were pretty dry and overcooked. The New York elk steak came already sliced and had no flavor. The lamb rack was not seasoned and tasted very bland, it was supposed to be grilled but felt mushy inside as if it was steamed instead. On top it was very heavily covered with some sort of sweet sauce. Overall, I would describe it as really pricey and really bad :( 😞. We left quite upset and disappointed.
Unfortunately I can’t give such a positive review to this place. For starters the hostess was not up to the task of giving quality service to seat people. I had a reservation at 6 and we ended up sitting 45 minutes later even tho the table was ready and set up, we were a large party and it seemed that they didn’t even mind we were there waiting. Secondly the manager/bartender when we asked him about our table was very rude with very poor people skills he said he needed to take care of the other parties and never even bothered to come back to take care of us, they just left us there. Our waitress was great and was the only staff member with a positive attitude, the rest of the staff had a face that me feel uncomfortable to even ask for something as if they had a terrible day. The food was fine I would give it an 8 out of 10 but the hostess and rude manager just ruined the nice dinner we had planned and it just gave me a sour first impression and introduction to this place. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this place, hopefully they get their affairs in order and work on making their staff a little more joyful.
The bread, chicken wings are so normal or lower than average, and wagu stake was so so.. Small amount and normal taste, $55 is nonsense. It should be $20, or less for the quality. Brawny dessert was good still. Last year we went there and so.. Good. But I feel chief changed..
Service here was great and staff was friendly but that was the highlight. The quality and food perpetration here need a lot of work though. Was ok for a last minute dinner but wont be going back anytime soon.
Menu very limited. Service poor. I had to remind the waiter 3 times for a simple soft drink. Salmon overcooked and steak way undercooked of requested temperature. Shrimp scampi very spicy like the lid of the red pepper flakes fell off. Who makes shrimp scampi so spicy you can’t eat it. Maybe this was an anomaly but with the prices they charge that can’t happen.
I ordered Ribeye and lobster tail. My wife ordered Filet mignon. We both had salad and some mussels that were a special appetizer. My biggest complaint was spending over 200.00 for cold steak, cold mashed potatoes and cold veggies. My wife’s food was the same way.
The service was good and the food was excellent. My son and I each ordered scotch on the rocks. We were shocked when the bill came and we were each charged an additional $2 FOR ICE! It's literally 30 degrees outside with lots of snow in the ground. We were not told that there is a charge for frozen water, otherwise we would have passed. Ice is not hard to come by in Mammoth, especially in the winter! If you go to this restaurant, beware of upcharges.
The opentable menu was different from the restaurant’s menu and was very deceiving
My apprentice and I ordered sliders and hamachi tostadas, the tostadas were a little soggy like they were premade, sliders had too many onions, I ordered the short ribs on our waiters recommendation, they were only cooked through and chewy, they should have been fall apart, sent it back and got the ribeye, which was good. That evening my apprentice and I were up all night with diarrhea and all today, there was apparently a cleanliness that evening in the kitchen or food quality
Had 6:30 reservations on a Thursday. Arrived at 6:30. There appeared to be 5 empty tables. 4 had been cleaned. Waited 10 minutes to be seated. After being seated for about 10 minutes someone told us our waiter would be with us in 5 minutes. Clearly understaffed. We ordered drinks from our waiter then food when he brought the drinks. Our salads came out about 20 minutes after ordering. Then hot food 5 minutes later. It was cold. Didn’t see the waiter again until we were finished eating. When you charge this much for food there’s no excuse for poor execution. Can’t see going back.
The restaurant is pricey so we expected good food. The best stroganoff we sent back to the kitchen, it was inedible. The noodles were overcooked and had zero flavor, the beef was chunks of meat not tender at all. The scampi pasta had good flavor but the noodles were also super overcooked. Overall disappointing experience but the service was good.
Great wine selection, good complimentary bread, ok service ( a bit slow), but subpar food. For the price, I was definitely disappointed. The vegetables and the jasmine rice that’s served with the fish dishes taste super plain like they are from the grocery store in the frozen bagged aisle. The hamachi appetizer lacked cohesiveness. Probably would be better off as a sashimi dish. The shrimp scampi somehow had asparagus and huge quarters of tomato in it… never seen that before.
We were supposed to eat here during the holidays. We made a reservation online in advance, though we waited for 15mins to be seated. We then waited over 20 mins just to get water and the waiter never came back to get our orders. It’s very unfortunate since we were so excited to spend our dinner there. Definitely not a place to go during the holiday season, I guess.
Worst meal of the week staying in Mammoth for $195.00 USD 2 people. Hamachi app is pure spicy, cant taste the fish and overpriced. The server brought out soup at the same time as the app. Drinks arrived after soup. Beef strogonoff had tough and inedible cubes of meat in it. Barely 4oz of pasta. The apple pie was overly sweet, and churro ice cream was a major miss. Frozen chewy globs of dough in vanilla ice cream. Avoid this place if you like good food. The only decent offereings are cocktails. The Warming Hut is 1000 times better. Avoid Morrison's
The wife and I went to Morrison's yesterday and were met by the worst service either one of us has ever experienced. To begin with, we were sat at a table and did not get out drink orders taken for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple other tables were sat after us and had their drink orders taken. Then, as we were finally ordering our drinks one of the other servers brings us bread. As she is setting the bread down on our table, our server tells her "No, take it over there. They were here first", sending the bread to a table that got there at least 10 minutes after we did. Frustrating, but I could have gotten over it. What really made the experience so bad, was that we ordered when the server was taking our drink menus, out of concern that he wouldn't be back to our table for another 20 minutes. My wife and I waited for our food for approximately 35 minutes. While waiting, multiple tables that got there after us received there food. Adter the 35 minutes, our waiter comes back and asks, "What did you guys order again, I got distracted". By this point we had been at the restaurant for about 1 hour. I asked the server if our order had been put in yet and he did not want to answer the question, only stating that it wouldn't take long. We asked him again if our order had been placed and he did not answer. With that, we left. In short, the service at Morrison's is the worst in town, and that is coming from a local too. You would think as a business who tries to advertise themselves as fine dining, they would do a better job on customer service.
Our server Mike gave us the most unprofessional and rude service I’ve ever experienced. He wasn’t pleased with our gratuity and said to my family and I, “Don’t come back!” As we were walking out, he gave the most disrespectful attitude to my mother making shooing gestures for us to get out quickly. Uneducated and disrespectful people like Mike fall short for a place that offers high quality food and a good ambience!
This was one of the best places to go in Mammoth. However, ever since the main chef past away, both service and menus has only gotten worse. I had the tofu which was so salty, my wife had special fish and no flavor. Shrimp scampi was extremely spicy, steak was tough. Won't go back
I'm putting 1 star because I can't leave 0 stars. The service was horrible. JOEY your manager was our server. He left us with a sour taste in our mouth. The only time we saw him was when he took our order. We had to ask the host for bread and ask the waitress for butter. We had to to ask for refills from the host. We ask to speak to the general manage we were told they don't live in the area and we were only given the number to the restaurant. Joey didn't d0 anything to please the customer. Never coming again! We suggested you don't come either.
Very rude service, the hostess didn’t greet us or even look at us. Someone else had to take our order when we had waited long enough. I had the goat cheese salad with prosciutto, let me warn you: there’s 1 inch of prosciutto, no more. The hostess didn’t even look at us when she slammed the food in front of me. I ate my food before my husband even got his. He ordered the shrimp pasta and there was corn?? Then the bartender started drinking. Not a fine dining place. More like a Russian sports bar with white table cloths. 👎
If you want to come and get disappointed here is the right place. To begin with, we were very excited to come and dine here. I felt like the server was racially profiling my husband and I. We had arrived within 30 minutes that they had just opened. The server told us to come back at 9pm because they didn’t have any tables available. I counted 8 tables that were empty and yet did not look like they were busy. Beyond disappointed in this place.
Heard this place used to be great but it was awful. Food was terrible and the steaks came out with reduction sauces and blue cheese (should be one or the other). Expect to pay a premium for cocktails that aren’t consistently poured. And the staff…..our waitress was wearing a dog collar and never came back to the table after our food arrived. Someone in our party had to walk to the bar just to get a soda refill! If you are going to charge a premium for food at least have your staff dress the part.
What a weird experience. Made a reservation for 8:15 through OpenTable just as they suggest in the voicemail (bc they never answered when I called ahead) only to realize they close at 8:30. When we were seated, at 8:25, the only other table in the restaurant was paying and leaving. I had booked this as a birthday dinner for two of our friend group, and hoped for a nice classy service. The food was fine, overpriced and fairly bland all around but I chalked that up to it being a resort town and had expected as much. Our waitress was nice and friendly but by the time our meals came the vibe shifted and it became quickly clear that they wanted to close up. The music was turned off and staff began cleaning and turning off lights in areas of the restaurant around us. I would never have made a reservation at that time if it had come with the disclaimer that we would be rushed out. At the end, they brought out brownies and ice cream with candles without us asking which I took to be a sign of great service, until I realized we were billed for them on the check without ordering them. Then once the check came, the manager asked us to pay quickly and sign so the waitress could close out. Because of this I was rushed and did not get a chance to review the bill, missing the added dessert and the 20% mandatory fee, and then still tipped another 18% because I was rushing. I’d stay away, just overpriced highway robbery. Much better options and service around town, my mistake for trying something new.
