We ate lunch on a Friday just after 1PM. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was great with a great price point and a tremendous selection to choose from. Tia was our server and she was very helpful and nice. We didn’t have any issues with parking. I have driven by several times during the evening and the place appeared full. That was a great indication to me.

Recommended to us by the first mate on our snorkeling tour, this place is a local gem. Our server Noel (see pix) was super friendly and took good care of us. He made recommendations from the menu, which my husband tried and liked. I started with a conch bisque (pictured) which was excellent. I paired the crab plate with a Coconut Margherita, which accentuated both flavors. They apparently have happy hour from 11:30-6:00. The lunch rush came in right after we got there when they opened, so it's a popular place. The place has a nice vibe (our booth window was a port hole), and a "come on in and relax!" feel. Vacation atmosphere, good food, and great service. We'll probably go back again while we're here to try other menu items.

Fantastic dinner!!! Our server Tia was excellent, super sweet and great with great recommendations! We happened to be there on “date night” so were offered a free bottle of house wine which was lovely! The food was amazing though!! Beautifully plated. Highly, highly recommend☺️

This place is amazing! I had the Conch Fritters, which I had never had before. You could actually taste pieces of the conch in them. I had the Surf and Turf with a Ceasar Salad. The steak was filet mignon and was cooked medium rare. It was seasoned well, and I didn't even use any sauces on it. The lobster tail was sweet and not rubbery. It melted in your mouth. I got the Key Lime pie to go because I was stuffed. I finished it later, and it was tangy and so good. Our waiter was prompt, knowledgeable, and so nice. I highly recommend this establishment if you are in Big Pine Key.

I am absolutely thrilled that we chose to eat here. The atmosphere was lovely, and the waiter was very helpful and genuinely engaged. We tried both house wines, white and red, and they were good. For starters, we had vegetarian sushi — I love sushi, and the one here is simply amazing. Fresh, crispy vegetables. Yum! The Greek salad was a huge portion — too much for me — so I took the rest to go. Definitely worth it 🙂 My boyfriend had the Lobster Fra Diavolo. Both the lobster and the mussels were delicious and perfectly cooked. The whole dish was wonderfully light, flavorful, and tasty. Another amazing surprise was the baguette served at the beginning. Considering the local options, it’s some of the best bread around. I am very pleasantly surprised. The food here is truly top-class.

This place is busy busy busy! Our waitress was really good , I don't think she told us her name tho or I would add it to this review because she had great insight to the meal options, what we should eat etc. She had long black hair and was a bit sassy heehee, not rude just nicely opinionated. 4 of us ate and everything was delicious. One of the best French onion soups we've had.

We didn’t have reservations but we fortunately were seated within 15 minutes. Our server (Brenda?) was exceptional. She was one of the best servers we had on our trip; efficient, attentive, pleasant - just great service. The restaurant was busy so the noise level was a bit high. I ordered the Hawaiian pineapple and coconut shrimp- dessert for dinner. It was amazing and was a good size portion.

We ate here for dinner on our first night in Marathon and then had breakfast a week later on the morning we were leaving. Food was great on both occasions. There were 4 of us in our group. We made a reservation for dinner but just walked in for breakfast. We were here somewhat off season and I can see that it could easily be very busy other times of the year. Just before we left at breakfast, I noticed a manatee (there were actually 3) on their dock. We went over and took photos. It was a wonderful experience. It was busy for dinner but not very noisy and service was prompt. We sat by the water both times. Breakfast was quiet and relaxed and peaceful.

We had the absolute BEST experience here, and it was all thanks to our incredible server, Denzel. Our group of eight was in the Keys celebrating our 40th birthdays, and Denzel truly made the night unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, his service was flawless—warm, kind, attentive, and completely on top of every detail without ever being intrusive. He made us feel celebrated, taken care of, and genuinely welcome. Managing a big, lively group is no small task, and he did it with total grace and good humor. Amazing food + truly exceptional service = a night we’ll be talking about long after the trip. If you’re lucky enough to have Denzel as your server, you’re in for a perfect evening. He absolutely made our trip. 💛

We were given recommendations by locals and visitors so we decided to give it a try. We made reservations. We started off with the lobster bisque. This was absolutely fantastic! It was velvety, creamy and full of flavor. I ordered the crab cakes appetizer as my meal and added rice pilaf. The rice was bland, not super impressed. However, the crab cakes were small but full of flavor and a spicy chipotle sauce. Delicious. We also ordered the surf and turf. The filet was cooked amazing, juicy and seasoned well. The lobster was fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly. Overall a great experience and would recommend.

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Denzell at FL Keys Steak and Lobster House in Marathon, and he was incredible! From the moment he greeted us, his warmth and kindness stood out. He was super sweet, patient, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We brought in a bunch of fish for the cook-your-catch, and Denzell was so helpful in explaining all the preparation options and guiding us through the choices. Everything came out perfect! His demeanor made the whole dining experience relaxed and enjoyable, and we finished the night with their amazing Key Lime Pie. Servers like Denzell truly make a difference — thank you for making our evening so memorable!

Fantastic old school dining on Marathon Key … we love it so much we ate there twice during a recent swing through the Keys… staff awesome… Brennan was our waitress… amazing! White table clothes, wide variety of dishes, great steaks, awesome seafood… average sushi, avoid that! Check out the specials menu, many gems there! Wine list was average as well, but the craft cocktails were awesome! A delightful place to dine… always busy, get a reservation! Highly recommend!

Loved every bit of our experience. Our server, Billy, was amazing and the food was amazing (best ceasar salad I’ve ever had). My boyfriend and I went here for a date and had a candle lit for our table. Perfect place for date night.

Our first time to dine at The Steakhouse & Seafood. Food was excellent, atmosphere was great. Best part of our evening was our server Jenny! She was helpful with the menu and choices, so friendly and very polite. Wonderful service!!

Christen P. was a great server! I have a milk and egg allergy. She knew my choices were safe. Refills when needed. Food was delicious. We will stop again if in the area and hungry.

We sat at the bar, the bartenders are amazing and very busy. Chloe was fantastic with taking our orders and keeping our drinks filled and was fun to converse with. The food was great too. I had the Mahi fried, but it just perfect with hardly any grease and perfectly cooked. The chicken breasts were well seasoned and tasty. The baked potatoes were large and soft with ample toppings.

Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House is absolutely incredible! The food is delicious, the ambiance is beautiful, and the staff is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and professional. Every time I come here, it’s a flawless experience from start to finish. This has truly become my favorite restaurant. I absolutely love it—definitely a 10 out of 10!

I can see why this is a great place for locals as well as visitors going to or from mainland to Key West. There was a short seven minute wait but we decided to sit at the bar. I ordered the pee and eat shrimp for happy hour which runs from 11:30 AM to 6 PM! The shrimp or jumbo and delicious and fresh from Key West. I paired it with a delicious bloody Mary. He ordered the Greek salad which he said was very good. It was a great respite from our trip home from a great weekend in Key West. I totally recommend this restaurant. We stopped by about 1:30 PM. I could see it being busy all the time.

We are visiting Key West and my wife picked this gem for dinner. From outside, it doesn't look like much but from the moment you walk in, everything changed. Staff were friendly, food quality was excellent, and overall value was wonderful. We had Kathleen and she was AMAZING!!!!! She made our visit even better which is why overall experience blew away my expectations. I highly recommend making a reservation so you don't wait and come hungry because every dish we had were excellent. Thank you Kathleen for making our visit special because you were special.

Okay ... to start, the hostess who seated us was (Marcella - see pics) a living blessing and got us a prime table. Then our waitress, Izzy (see pics) was as my wife put it was 'absolutely the best'. The wine was definitely a happy pour. The food: excellent!! And each entree was enough for two. Thank you for such a memorable evening!!

Tia was amazing. I watched her walk near our table from an angle that was not direct and she looked back at our table and noted we were done eating. She nodded at me and then came back a minute later to check on us and get our bill ready. I asked her how long she had been in the industry. She said 25 years. It was profoundly evident. She is awesome. Do yourself a favor and go when you are in Marathon. Go see Tia at Florida Keys Steak and Lobster. You will not regret it!!!! 5 stars is not enough!

Great atmosphere, very delicious food, waitstaff attend to every thing you want. We went on my wife's birthday and I quietly said happy birthday to her and the waitstaff immediately replied and asked her what she wanted for dessert (complimentary) and the sang happy birthday to her. Reservations are generally needed but worth the hassle

Awesome food! Our waiter was top notch, gave us good reviews of the food. Definitely a must go for dinner in marathon. Best meal we had.

Have been 2x in 2 weeks. Very good The early bird menu, along with happy hour, offers up a tremendous value. A good variety of large portions of deliciously prepared food. Took home leftovers both times. Early bird specials include salad and dessert. Definitely recommend!

Made a late in the evening trip to this local place when visiting for a family vacation and needed a place that could handle all of us that late and with some dietary needs. The food and presentation, flavor, just everything was outstanding. I will definitely be going back during my frequent Keys trips and recommend to all. Denzell who was our waiter went above and beyond and was so helpful and friendly. Run don’t walk to this gem in Marathon.

This place is awesome! We had Kristen as our server and she was on point, energetic, and super pleasant! Our meals were amazing and came out in a timely manner. It was a great overall experience. 5 stars all the way!!

Kathleen our server was outstanding. She was professional, personal, fun, and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the prime rib which I loved. Key lime pie is worth the trip on its own. The place has an old school charm about it, with a nautical theme and local art on the walls and windows. Last but not least you can't beat the price anywhere. I highly recommend and don't forget to ask for Kathleen. The one from Rhode Island.

The food was delicious. Some of the best calamari and crabcakes we’ve ever had. The lobster was also very good. The food took a while to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Our waiter was great about spacing the appetizers, salads, and then the food. We will be returning in the future.

This was my first time trying FKSALH and I was quite impressed! What looks so small from the outside is a never ending restaurant inside. I would consider this to be a casual version of finer dining. We were started with warm bread and butter, and they don’t skimp on the butter! My husband and I both ordered the Surf and Turf. Unfortunately, both of our steaks were severely underdone (blue rare, ordered medium) and had to be sent back. The restaurant was very understanding and gave us each a free dessert as compensation. Our server, Bob, was awesome. He has great customer service and is very attentive. I would go back purely to be waited on by him again. Despite our issue with the steak, I would return as all of our other food was phenomenal.

As a part time resident of Islamorada, I heard about this place and drove to Marathon to try the food. Menu selection was impressive. Place was welcoming and service was great. Salad was cold and it was served in a huge metal bowl. Filet mignon was so flavorful!! My husband loved baked potatoes that came with crab cake. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. Flan and key lime pie were big portions and tasty. We enjoyed our dinner at Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House and definitely will go back to try other items on the menu.

We heard a lot of good things about Florida Keys steak and lobster, and also heard that it was a bit pricey. After days of seafood, my wife was in the mood for a steak, so we thought we would give it a try. We love ceviche, and their version was very good, and I recommend it. my wife had a steak and I had the grilled seafood platter. Everything on my platter was slightly tough and basically overcooked like it had sat under heat waiting to be brought out. My wife’s steak was OK with a side of previously frozen curly fries. Being from Kansas City we have some great steak restaurants to choose from, and the steak would’ve been along the lines of a longhorn or Texas roadhouse steak, so not bad, just not great. I think for your money there are better restaurants in marathon to choose from.

Really good food here! A vast variety of choices for lunch and dinner. 100% get the Chocolate Banana Bomb dessert! Our entire table loved it and the presentation is spectacular! Sushi rolls as big as your forearm! Big bowl salads. Our server was nice. The dinners were good. I definitely recommend the calamari! Ask for extra sauce, they didn't give us much. I love the bubble dividers, they make the restaurant colorful and fun at night. Reservations are tough to get, so make them in advance!

While in Marathon we decided to stop here for lunch. Their menus were impressive. There’s literally something for everyone. My husband tried the coconut chicken sandwich & French onion soup. I went with the grilled chicken, veggies and house salad. My husband did love the soup. He enjoyed the flavors of the sandwich as well. My dish was great. The vegetables were my favorite part. We may try this place again for dinner sometime in the early future. It has a very cool atmosphere, sort of dark but nice & has fun features throughout the restaurant as well.

Very nice restaurant. Need reservations if u go to dinner at peak times. We got there early enough to order from early bird menu. Saved about $10 on each item. Limited menu though. Waiter was very attentive until it started getting busy and he kind of vanished. Good bar drinks. I had crab cakes. Need more crab and less breading however. My wife had coconut shrimp and it was excellent. Parking is an issue.

Food was good. Lobster with the surf & turf wasn’t hot. Sushi was good and fresh. Pricey but decent portions Service was terrible, waiters fault (other waiters seemed great & enthusiastic!). This was addressed respectfully and in a timely manner when brought to the attention of other staff. Appreciated them correcting our bill and our waiters mistakes. Would recommend others to try!

We made reservations for Easter dinner. The hostesses were friendly, and we were sat pretty quickly. They had a few specials for the holiday. I got the turkey dinner, which came with mashed potatoes, stuffing, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce, and a decent portion of turkey. You could see the stuffing was made from their croutons. I enjoyed my meal. My husband got the Mahi with crab and shrimp. The Mahi was a bit dry. There was not much crab on it, and the tiny shrimp were very overcooked to the point where it tasted a bit chalky. He didn't eat them and left part of his fish as well. I am a bit disappointed that his meal was not better. The bathrooms were clean, and our waiter was attentive. Prices for the food was fair. Knowing that there are so many places with delicious seafood around, this is one place we wouldn't stop back in when we are in the area again.

In Marathon for a few days to celebrate my birthday and get away from Miami for a bit. First time to this restaurant. Full disclosure we came here two times. During both visits, the customer service was excellent. Thank you to Fabio and Denzel. Now to the food: On our first visit we had the sushi, which was delicious, and the porterhouse steak. The steak was very tender but lacked flavor. We had to add our own salt and pepper in order to eat it. By the way, the bread is delicious.. you've been warned.. you won't want to stop eating it. Today during our second visit, the food started off good with the house salad and crab soup. However the main dishes were not so good. We ordered the early bird special which included a salad or soup, main dish with a side and a dessert. My chicken breast was gummy and the portion size was tiny. Literally a kids meal. We also had the stuffed shrimp with mash potatoes. The potatoes seemed to be instant potatoes.. the texture was rather interesting. The waiter explained they were made in house but we beg to differ. If you're hungry do not order the grilled chicken. I've never been a fan of key lime pie. But since I am in the keys, I like to eat local cuisine so I gave it a second chance. The key lime pie was delicious. I was surprised at how good it was. I was at a 4.5 out of 5 until my experience with today's lunch, which brought it to a 3.

Its was ok. Overpriced for the food and service. More of a sushi place than a steak and seafood restaurant. Way better options on the island elsewhere.

J
Jason Voelkl

Based on reviews and price my expectations were pretty high but unfortunately I wasn’t super impressed. We started with the bangin’ shrimp which were just ok. I had the twin filets which were really good but the wife’s sushi didn’t have much flavor. We ordered dessert to go and they were good. If we came back we’d probably just stick to ordering steak.

Supposed to be the best in Marathon, but my Happy Hour run left me mixed. Conch chowder = marinara soup with potatoes. Sent it back. Mozzarella sticks = good fry, same marinara as the chowder. Buffalo shrimp = pure sauce overload. Could’ve been anything under there. Wings = fine, but bland. Maybe one of Marathon’s roosters. Artichoke dip = Better than most. Chips tasted like cardboard though. Tuna Taki = excellent. Calamari w/ mango sauce = phenomenal, tender, best I’ve ever had. Fisherman’s Roll ($25) = tasted like a rainbow roll with mango. Not worth the price. Service by Denzel was outstanding, atmosphere nice but a little dated. Overall, not bad, but I wasn’t blown away by the hype. I wouldn’t go back myself, though I’d still tell others to give it a try—maybe their steaks and lobster are stronger.

A
Andrea Krieger

We had high hopes for this place based off of reviews, but it fell short! The good: The free bread and butter they bring to the table is the best thing you’ll get here. Potato wedges were good. Baked potato was perfectly cooked. Drinks were good. Service was great! Atmosphere is great! The bad: The shrimp happy hour appetizer was inedible…overcooked and horrible texture and flavor. Salads were well dressed, but there was a lot of water at the bottom of the bowl. Fettuccine Alfredo had absolutely zero flavor. Crab cakes were fishy. Blacked Mahi Mahi hardly had any seasoning.

Really looked forward to this spot after hearing so many good things. Sushi was excellent. Lover the specialty roll. The Caesar salad was quite good. The entrees and the cocktails were all really mediocre. We had four different entrees all super average especially for the price. None stood out and all the flavors melded into one dubious flavor. Really disappointed

B

We went here for dinner and overall the experience was mixed. We ordered the steak and ribs, and the food was good — tasty and well prepared. Our waiter was also very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. However, there was a big downside that really affected the evening. Around 7:30 pm, while we were still eating, the staff started clearing and undressing all the tables around us for the night. It made us feel uncomfortable, like we were being told it was time to leave even though we hadn’t finished yet. Good food and service, but the rushed closing atmosphere took away from what could have been a much nicer dinner.

R
Randy Mauterer

At least the meat was good. For $100 per person, I expected better sides, better wine list and good drinks. Unfortunately, my margarita was not drinkable, the wine selection small, and sides, besides the salads, we're a disappointment. Our waitress tried her best, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Like I said, at least the meat, cowboy steak and rack of lamb were good. Would I return? No.

Z
Zach Swartz

Some of the food here is really good but it’s really hit or miss. I started with a conk sautéed app and it was delicious. Then my entree was blackened mahi and it was just bad. Very dry, overcooked and just a piece of meat on a plate. For the prices I would expect at least some creativity. Others ordered filet mignon, it was dry, the mahi sandwich it was the same, very dry. The sushi roll I tried was very good and my gf’s stuffed shrimp were also good so again, seems very hit or miss. Service was pretty slow and parking was a nightmare.

J
J. M.

Based on the reviews, I wanted to love this restaurant. Unfortunately, the fried snapper was so dry it was inedible. The prices are a bit steep given the portion sizes. Our server was too busy to give us much attention. The ambience is lovely and the host was very nice.

As a chef with over 20 years in the industry, I’ve dined in everything from roadside diners to Michelin-starred establishments. Rarely have I felt compelled to write a review, but my experience at the Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House was so appallingly disappointing, I feel obligated to warn others. Let’s start with the food: utterly mediocre, yet priced as if it were prepared by world-class chefs. The sushi specifically the Unagi Kabayaki nigiri was dense, mushy, and clearly not fresh. The burgers? Frozen patties, slapped on a plate with old, overpowering onions that hadn't seen ice water or freshness in days. My entire family felt ill after the meal. At these prices, that’s not just unacceptable it’s inexcusable. The décor and atmosphere tried desperately to pass as upscale but instead felt like a rundown bar playing dress-up. Fake crystal glasses, inconsistent tableware, silverware wrapped like a gas station lunch special it was chaos pretending to be class. There was no cohesive theme, no attention to detail, and certainly no justification for the prices. The service was equally abysmal. When politely responding that the meal was “ok,” I was met with disdain as if failing to fall over in praise was a personal insult. Waitstaff stood idle while busboys did all the work. My wife sat with an empty glass for 30 minutes while servers loitered, despite only about 30 tables being occupied. To top it all off, they had the audacity to automatically charge gratuity for a table of three adults and two kids. That alone speaks volumes about the arrogance of this establishment. Gratuity something meant to reflect appreciation for good service was treated as an entitlement. The total came to just over $18. Ironically, I had planned to tip at least $60, possibly $100 if the service warranted it. Instead, I left the rest in my pocket, insulted by their presumption. In all my years, I’ve never seen a family of five charged automatic gratuity. It was degrading, pretentious, and self-defeating. They got their guaranteed 18%, but lost what could’ve been a generous tip and any chance at return business. In short, this place doesn’t deserve the “steakhouse” title. With processed food, mismatched themes, rude service, and pricing that borders on theft, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and your stomach go literally anywhere else.

R
Rachel Knight

Made a reservation for 6:30 had to wait for a few mins not too bad. Then we were sat and our drinks were taken, it took awhile for our waitress to return. I understood because the place was packed. Then we placed our order at 6:51, we waited for an hour. When our food was delivered she then told us that the lamb is what took so long. My child’s order was wrong and then my mahi and baked potato was cold. I got my food boxed she was apologetic. It wasn’t her fault. Needless to say my dinner down the road last night at sunset grill was better, faster and warmer.

Lobster tail way way overcooked. Well, that's why they give us steak knifes. Atmosphere could not be much worse. Everyone was running back and for like Olympic athletes to make us feel like hurry up get that overcooked stuff in, we cud feed other people. Time's money. Bud wipe the rust from salt 🧂 they don't have the time.
