The food is amazing and the wait staff is always pleasant and on top things. We no longer go to any other spot for breakfast. Thanks for bringing good quality food to the area!
Delicious breakfast and lunch- I’ll definitely be back on my next visit!
My husband and I gave this new to us place a try over Labor Day weekend, we will definitely be back!
Hands down amazing. I go every Sunday and its always the perfect meal. Who ever is cooking there, takes a tremendous amount of pride in their food/work. Best place to eat by far! Go and you wont be disappointed.
We were drawn back for a second breakfast and brought friends. The food is freshly made from scratch, creative, priced fairly, and friendly staff. We are lucky to have another quality food establishment in our neighborhood. Well worth a visit for a great food experience.
Nice new gem of a before dinner restaurant added to the area. Small menu with big taste. Prices average $20+ per person. Nice enjoyable choices, eclectic combinations.... Daily specials. DELICIOUS!! Decor is cute, service is genuine. Looking forward to my next visit!!
Love this place! Food is consistently delicious & staff is gracious & efficient!! We've been here when they were slow & slammed... They never miss a beat even if there's a mistake😊 I want to lick my plate (like a savage🤣) when I'm done no matter what I order... There's magic happening in this kitchen... Definitely worth the wait when they are busy!!
Wish we had every meal here while we were in town (we did go twice). Their food is fantastic, and way above anything the surrounding area has to offer. Thank you for your delicious food and obvious effort you put into it!!
We started with coffee's which came really quick so our waitress was great from beginning and I decided on the breakfast special which was upsidedown pineapple pancakes with walnut brown sugar glaze .Hands down the best pancakes I have ever ate. No syrup even needed. My wife went with sausage, biscuit and gravy with home fries. Which was amazing as well. They are open only from 7:00a.m. till 2:00 And have many other options to try. Stop by you won't regret it.😎
This visit was our first time there! The place was very nice, small and intimate. Food was fantastic! Had the breakfast enchilada. Very tightly wrapped so it didn't make a mess! Staff was wonderful. Cash only establishment. We will be going again!
Stopped in for lunch. Had the best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Owner and staff are top notch. Will definitely be back.
Oh man, so good! Home fries were out of this world. Crispy and delicious. We got the breakfast burger and one of the specials, peach crisp stuffed French toast. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I was the best stuffed French toast I've ever had!! SO good! Would love to go back next time I'm in the area :)
The food was excellent and cooked just the way we wanted it. The service was great our server was fast, funny and right on target with each request. The place is very noisy and carrying on a conversation is difficult especially if you have a hearing problem. The step on the way out is a BIG concern and accident waiting to happen, no handrail to hold onto a ramp at any angle would be better than the step they have. Be careful on your way out.
I got the breakfast enchilada it was fantastic, the home fries were decently seasoned and the enchilada covered in sausage gravy really sent it home. Delicious breakfast can’t go wrong with that.
Was a little slow but not too bad , they were busy when we arrived. Places at counter and still a couple tables open. Coffee was good tasting our meals were ample enough and looked nice . Waitresses were nice and friendly and came a few times with coffee . The bathrooms smelled and looked clean, had soap and paper towels available. Parking was a bit tight as we had a full size pickup truck. Looked to be many locals which is a good sign in my book .
Staff very friendly and helpful. Large portion of delicious food. Not pricey however cash onnly
L. A. B. - lunch and breakfast. Owner loves his labs! Pics on the walls. 1 of 2 places for set down breakfast or lunch in that part of Mayfield. There's a Stewart's there across the road but this is an actual diner. Plenty of parking. Crushed stone. Has handicap parking. Place sets back and up right off the road. Perfect portions, nice selection. Even offered pumpernickel bread /toast. Also sponsors local artisans for selling some of their merchandise. Maple syrup was the one I noticed.
The last time I came here, one of the chef's or the owner came out with a fresh stack of loaded French roasts and took photos of them near our table. When he was finished, he gave us the stack on the house! Great service and even better food 😋
Totally unexpected hidden G.E.M. (see what I did there)!!! Unassuming location inside and out, but clean and welcoming. Staff couldn't have been nicer! Best egg sandwich I've ever had out, and their brisket omelet was amazing, as was their sausage gravy. I ate there two days in a row, and would have been there again if I had stayed in town longer. Will definitely be back next time I'm visiting Sacandaga!!!
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Today was the day. It did not disappoint. I had the grilled chicken wrap and my companion had the turkey club. There were many, many choices on the menu; several breakfasts that looked great. They are open for breakfast and lunch.
Absolutely amazing!! There's not enough words I could use to describe how delicious this food was! I ordered take out for my work, Ruby & Quiri today. Between the outstanding customer service, speedy turn around, and the mouth watering food.... hands down my new favorite go to! Thank you Jon, Tom, and everyone else! **Honestly these photos do not do justice.. You MUST go try for yourself!!!
I have been wanting to come here for months, and my only regret is not coming sooner! First- the staff is incredibly hospitable. They were friendly, helpful and smiling. Great way to start the morning! I was also impressed with the way our waitress didn’t just have the specials memorized but she also added in extra details and flourish in her descriptions. It was a nice touch! We got some LAB treats for the table to start… and those were soooo good! Fluffy, crunchy, mostly sweet but the melba sauce cut it perfectly with a tiny bit of tang. My MIL and I both got the brisket enchiladas. Basically they’re the same as the breakfast enchiladas on the menu, but with brisket as well. Holy cow, were these good! The brisket was perfectly tender and the enchiladas were bursting with flavor. I have thought about them every day since we had them! My husband got loaded Cookies and Cream French toast. I didn’t try it as I don’t have much of a sweet tooth in the morning… but he sure does, and it definitely hit the spot for him! It looked beautiful and had so many yummy components to it. My FIL got a brisket platter which came with brisket, eggs and home fries. He asked for his home friend deep fried instead and they were very accommodating. He’s pretty picky about his BBQ so hearing him continually say “oh that’s good” felt like a big deal! He only wished it came with toast. All in all, this is easily one of the most delicious breakfasts we have had in a while! I love that they have “regular” breakfast foods but that they also are creative with their meals and have so many more options than a basic breakfast. You can also taste just how much they care and love what they do. I’m already planning our next visit!
Outstanding presentation and taste. We were greeted as we walked in the door and instructed to sit anywhere. Our server greeted us with menus and brought our drinks right over. The menu features many standards, but also includes some interesting items such as a breakfast burger and the biscuit which is a friend chicken cutlet on a fresh biscuit with sirracha. My French toast was covered with fresh raspberries and had a custard filling. The flavor was amazing. My husband got an omelet covered in sausage gravy and said it was great. Not pictured, but delicious and as the LAB treats we ordered. They are French toast bites deep fried with a raspberry drizzle and icing drizzled on top/// OMG. Highly recommend giving them a try. The food is all fresh cooked to order and we’ll worth the wait.
Excellent breakfast!!! Great service, great atmosphere, and amazing food. I'll be stopping by again when I'm in town... you need to give it a try...
Best breakfast around. It’s very rare that I get a sweet breakfast when we’re dining out but I keep ordering Lab Shack’s French toast specials just to gawk at what comes out. It’s always over the top. I once ordered a banana split French toast. I’d never try that at home and it somehow turned out awesome. The coffee is also often times what I make at home and I don’t know many people that make better coffee than I do. They’re also always smoking their own brisket which is always pretty perfect and, as a person who turns their nose up at fried chicken, I have always been thrilled with theirs. I recommend every single item on the menu.
A welcoming and delicious start to the day. My first time to The L.A.B. Shack (Lunch & Breakfast) and I was not disappointed. My omelet was packed with goodies and topped with Sausage Gravy. My home fries were crisp and hot. Stop in and experience a great breakfast. Gregg
The food is excellent, I especially like the Woodworth omelet. Omelets are great here. The staff is always warm and welcoming. I always enjoy my meals at the L.A.B. shack. Oct 2025 update: Still excellent! I had my Woodworth omelet this morning, and enjoyed it!
Visiting the area, and have eaten there twice this week. We no sooner left the first time and my 11 year old son was asking when we are coming back. Lol He absolutely devoured his chocolate chip pancakes. My husband and I ordered the caramel apple French toast al a mode after seeing someone else get it the first time and it was amazing. All the food we had was utterly delicious. Cannot rave about it enough! If your in the area, definitely add this place to your to try list! Image of the orange Creamsicle French toast. It was amazing!!!

The menu was interesting with some uncommon entries. My husband had eggs Benedict and they were delicious. I had kids version of a burrito, which was also very good. We shared a serving of Lab treats which were great. Had to take some home - portions are hearty.
Food was great! LAB bites were amazing. Pancake omelette was decadent and delicious. Lots of fun things with fried chicken and / or smothered in sausage gravy if that’s your thing… it’s definitely mine!!! I do have to mention there was a piece of ham in my vegetarian friends eggs, which was a bit of a bummer
We are new to mayfield this year for our camp getaway one of our neighbors recommended LAB and we decided to try. I have worked in the food service industry for 42 years now and this establishment was fantastic. From the service to the food to the cleanliness was top notch. We went Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next weekend will return as well. I am on a mission to try all the extraordinary menu selections. Breakfast enchiladas, Breakfast burger, LAB treats, stuffed French toast with banana cream, Breakfast burrito was our selections this weekend and all were amazing.
This place is a real find. There are a ton of great options on the menu, many of them creative, and the food is delicious. Quantities are substantial, so you definitely won't go away hungry. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive as well, and the restaurant is very clean. Don't be fooled by the very unassuming exterior, as this is a worth getting to know. I have only been there for breakfast but look forward to going back for lunch sometime soon.

I came to town for 2 days to pour concrete and definitely wanted to stop here for one meal if I had the chance. This restaurant is awesome. I wish I lived closer and could start from one end of the menu to the other. I thought I had my decision made before I got there but the sweet waitress sold me on the breakfast bowl instead. I could start my morning there everyday. Good job guys. Sorry I didn’t get any pics.
Very friendly staff! Place is neat and clean. Menu is simple, yet has a variety of different things. Well seasoned food and good value! It does get rather loud inside when it's busy, but worth it!
This was our first time here. We got the brisket breakfast burrito, pulled pork Benedict and the praline bacon. Food was good only complaint was the pulled pork on the Benedict needed added seasoning to take the Benedict over the top. Service was great the waitress was very friendly and answered any of the questions I had. Will definitely go back again and try something else.
We were looking for a new spot to get some breakfast and we decided to give these folks a try. We liked the food which was very tasty and a good value for the price. The service and overall look of the place was neat and clean. There are some specials that were on a chalkboard of which we missed when we came in and they weren’t provided or able to be viewed from our table. When I left there was something on the board that I wished I had ordered. Lastly, if your looking for relaxing and easy sounds this is not the place. The atmosphere here is busy and very loud as sounds bouncy off the walls and it gets rather loud. No matter, a very nice place to go. Tell them “some guy sent you.” And, enjoy!
My overall impressions after my very first visit: • Available parking. • Clean, clean entrance, dining area and bathroom. • Friendly wait staff with quick service. • Hot coffee and the Sacandaga Omelet with home fries, hit the spot, 👍. • Good value with reasonable prices. • I look forward to returning.

This is the perfect place for a quick breakfast and classic diner favorites with a twist. Definitely recommend stopping in.

I had a simple breakfast ; 2 scrambled eggs, sausage links and rye toast that they (added an extra $3.50 for the unbuttered rye toast). This was not mentioned to me, nor was it printed on the menu and also the waitress did not mention it either. Also, when we were finished, we went to the counter to pay and we stood there so long waiting (10 minutes) that a gentlemen sitting at the counter next to us, also noticed and said to us; well, I guess this means that your meal is FREE !
The household got: Breakfast enchilada Breakfast burrito The biscuit with chicken and Sriracha mayo And the blueberry french toast bake The only one of us who enjoyed our food was the blueberry french toast bake. He said it was very, very good and filling. He was very happy. The enchilada and burrito seemed to lack seasoning of any kind. Leaving us very disappointed. The chicken on the biscuit sandwich was dry and chewy and seemed to completely lack the sauce. We're chalking it up to they're good at sweet, bad at savory. Unfortunately, as a diabetic, I can't have the sweet. I want to try lunch at a later date, but for now I'm not too impressed. The cost wasn't too bad.

Party of 4. 2 kids. My wife and I got the Specials. Hers was pulled pork eggs Benny and I got the Steak Benny. My steak was maybe 6 slices, grizzly and very well done. The eggs were way overcooked, more like fried so it was missing that runny egg that eggs benny should have, the hollandaise was separated and there was barely any of it. Very dry. Home fries portion was tiny. Wife's eggs were same as mine, overcooked. Hers also had almost no hollandaise and was dry. She did like the pulled pork. Kids got pancakes, bacon and fruit. They raved about the pancakes. The fruit was good and fresh, I ate most of that. And my daughter loved the bacon. It was my first time there. If I went back it would be to try the burrito smothered in sausage gravy. Someone across from us had that and the portion size looked much better and they were saying that they liked it.
Don't know what happened. This place use to have generous portions. Why would the paid side item portion be wayuch more than the side that come with your meal. They should be the same portion size. Place was packed 3 girls on one taken the orders. Table touched only once. And when the girls finally got their to go containers the waitress took my empty plate and my friends plate even though he wasn't done. We were so shocked we laughed it off and said never again

Food was horrible, I literally don't understand the hype for this place. I literally ate (1) piece from my food and push the plate to edge of table. They never asked why nor discounted my bill
Guess what …this place is closed on Father’s Day . No sign out front. No note we could see online. But you know who’s open for our business? The north Hampton diner . Coffee is hot food is great , lots of happy faces .
We had brunch to go and it was really bad. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but almost everything we got was inedible. We spent $80 dollars and threw away most of it. Home fries literally burnt black and hard. There was a long hair in the bottom of my burger/fries. The waitress that took our order was nice, the wait was about 25-30 mins for our food. There was only one group sat down in there at the time. Maybe dining in is better than takeout but I won’t be back.
