Our waitress was amazing! Despite us customizing our orders she got everything correct and was attentive and super sweet. It was a great way to end the day! The food is always good and the margaritas top notch.

Blue Goose has been a favorite of ours for many years but this was our first time at the McKinney location. It certainly did not disappoint. We arrived during a Saturday night dinner rush, there was 7 of us but they got us seated very quickly. Our server Noah was EXCEPTIONAL. He was so nice, seemed to anticipate our every need before we even asked, and really went above and beyond taking care of us. The food was the delicious high quality you expect from Blue Goose and was out super fast. We all agreed this is one of the best dining experiences any of us have had in a long time. If you have 4 or more people that want fajitas, get the El Burro Grande. So much food that even with 2 big eaters we still had leftovers and it was all cooked perfectly. So delicious!

Beware of the Diablo margaritas, there is a reason the limit is two 😁 very good flavor i recommend trying if you're not driving. We have eaten in a couple of their locations they ate equally Consistent on quality and service.

A great addition to McKinney! Service is always fast with Mia. I have dietary issues and she always gets it correct. She’s always in a great mood and makes us feel special when we come in to eat. Manager Texas is on site and amazing as well. Always follows up to make sure our experience is great. When we come for the bar Liz is our go to bartender!! Her drinks are amazing and gets my food fast and perfect!!! This place is busy at times yes but from sitting down, to bar, to the Togo employees, they always take care of us!! Blue goose has the best chicken fajitas that I’ve ever had. Their chicken is so tender and flavorful! The salsa and guacamole taste very fresh and it’s a generous portion. We have not had any issues with service either. Definitely one of my top favorite Mexican restaurants in the area.

Hands down THE BEST Mexican restaurant in North Texas. Servers were so nice and so polite. The queso was amazing! Be sure to get it with brisket. We orders the Augie's Street Tacos and the The Dirty Bob, our food was out with in minutes of the chips and salsa, the fastest service I have ever received. All the food was incredible. Highly recommend this establishment!! We will definitely be back 😊

This was a nice place to get some food. Mind you, the food is a little pricier than other Mexican restaurants. The trade off is the food was great, service very good and they use real napkins and silverware. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Smaller menu options than other places but that's ok. I'll be back.

Went there on a Saturday night for the first time. Jackson was our server and she was so nice! Took the time to go over specials, and answer any questions we had on the menu. The tacos al pastor really surprised me, they were delicious. They make the corn tortillas there, so they’re fresh and delicious. They also have good deals on drinks. Will definitely come back.

I came in on monday, just thought about writing a review now. I called in and ordered steak fajitas with lemons, a very specific order but i was happy to know that xander had it covered. He was very polite and made sure my order was correct. I will be coming back and asking for him again.

We really enjoyed eating lunch here. It had been a few years and we were happy we went back. Love their brisket tacos 🌮 😋 Nachos and top shelf queso is pretty good as well.

Ate at this location for lunch after reading the reviews. Nice location just off the highway with plenty of parking. As we entered, there was a seating area for those who visit this location during peak times. As we continued through the doors towards the front desk, we met an employee who was friendly and smiled. After we were seated, she was our host. The sweet tea was spot on and not too sweet. Chips were airy and light. The salsa was good with its crushed red whole tomatos and blended with cilantro but no spice or heat. This is usually an indication of the area they are in, as I have found to be the case with previous reviews at other locations. The environment was inviting and colorful with touches of Hispanic culture or a Mexico feel. The bar was huge and had several flat screens for their guest. I saw a tortilla machine and tried the after lunch. They were delicious and homemade, which is a huge plus!! Lunch was good. I had the lunch beef fajita nachos, which were more like mini tostada's. They were good, but be warned, there are only 4 for the price. It's more of an appetizer than a lunch portion. 5 would have been good even if you increased the cost by $1. My friends ordered the quesdila's, which was a bigger lunch portion. The chicken salad w/ jalopeno ranch dressing was prize winner this go around! Cost was about average, but again, the fajita nachos was a smaller than normal portion. Overall, it was a good place to visit with family or friends. No adult beverages this go around, so we might have to make another visit. Don't forget about the outside seating as well.

Taco bout good!!!! From my long haired waiter answering to "miss" to the Goldie locks amount of heat on the goose eggs, this place delivers on the good times! My toddler is yelling MISS! I'm a mystery shopper for restaurants. I wasn't a mystery shopper today. My friend and I came in today. I am a Mystery Shopper but wasn't rating the restaurant. I was so pleased with our waitress Annie. She checked on us several times throughout our meal. Next time, we will ask for Annie. She went beyond the call of duty. I am so glad we went to Blue Goose today. The food was good and having Annie waiting on us was an awesome experience. I never met Annie before but we'll be asking for her to wait on us in the future.

It was a busy evening and she was always 2 steps ahead of us needing to ask for anything! The Toluca Chicken Salad is amazing!!! The goat cheese and nuts add such a great touch! The chicken has a smokey flavor from the grill and the avocado added just the right amount of creaminess. I normally get the nachos and although the nachos are incredible I'm so glad I chose this salad this trip.

Do you think Cilantro tastes like soap? Do you miss quality Mexican food if so? You should try out the Blue Goose! I LOVE cilantro and often find restaurants which don’t use it to be… lacking flavor. This is absolutely NOT the case for Blue Goose. Fantastic food, very flavorful and I did not see a single leaf of cilantro anywhere in my dish, the salsas, or the queso. A local friend recommended this restaurant and I owe him a debt of gratitude. The service was top notch, every one was friendly and smiling. In my experience, solo diners do not get the best service, but Skyler made sure I was well taken care of and the Coke Zero never ran out. Even the young man passing out chips and salsa then coming back to clear tables had the best smile and a spring in his step. Do they feed the workers from the menu? They must! Because I had the same happy expression as I left with my belly full and my wallet only slightly emptier from more than reasonable prices. Thursday is cheap queso night, and while it can get a little loud at times it is a colorful atmosphere and relaxing. I would absolutely recommend the Blue Goose and will endeavor to return here in the future.

My beef fajitas were delicious, but the rice and beans weren’t quite my cup of tea. The guacamole was, however, absolutely amazing! Overall, we had a fantastic time! I am staying at the Hampton Inn right behind The Blue Goose Cantina and decided to give it a try. First, Love the atmosphere here. Very lively and up beat. The staff what’s amazing, very friendly and warm greeting the instant I walked in the door, my waiter Brody was amazing. He recommended the fajitas and I will say they did not disappoint. The flavor was full and robust. The flour tortillas were perfect, not too thin, not too thick. I believe they are made on site. I will eat here again the next time I am in town. Great Find in McKinney.

I was going to go to the Mexican food place next to this place but based on the packed parking lot and only a few cars at the Mexican place, I chose here. This violated my Mexican name restaurant rule but I ‘pose you can do that with Tex-Mex. During lunchtime I get seated pretty quickly. Chips and salsa arrive. The chips are fresh and light. The fresh salsa is chunky, with onions ♥️and has a perfect amount of heat to it. The food arrived quickly. Tex-Mex at its best. The chicken was seasoned and juicy. More of the delish salsa was put on the tacos. A little too much cheese on the tacos for my liking. Rice was delish but the refried beans had no taste to them. Lexi was very attentive and took great care of me. If you love Tex-Mex, this is your place. I would definitely come back to try other dishes.

The food is fresh and delicious. We had the dip with everything in it. The tamales dinner. I had the fish tacos, over cooked, no flavor. But everything else was delicious and the service was friendly and fast.

I ordered mesquite shrimp (fajita). Shrimp were good, but comes with very little peppers and onions. Service was great though- she was very attentive. Parking lot fills fast.

Food was as expected. We had a wait for the chips in the beginning but after that service was well timed. I enjoyed my big bob. I might suggest frying it a little more so it would be crispier. They accommodated my request for no pico and no lettuce. Large servicing size. Nice dinner!

We love blue goose cantina! It’s our go-to when running errands around the area before we head home. When it’s super busy- a Friday or Saturday at dinner- service can be a bit hectic but the food is always great.

I ordered something not even on the menu tonight from LUCAS. He figured out how to put together my order - and it was good food!! Exactly what I asked for. Blue goose is a really good restaurant and Lucas is a fantastic server!

She did spill some sweet tea into our enchilada plate and then offered to get a different plate if we wanted. We would have preferred her to not ask, simply act. First off, this place is swamped with people. It's busy busy! So much it's impossible to sit and chat with anyone at our immediate table. The prices are a little on the high side for the portions. The quesadillas pictured were over 18 dollars. It came with sour cream and guacamole. They immediately stuff you with chips and salsa. So your meal ends up to-go. The food itself is not half bad. The salsa has a touch of heat with a nice cilantro flavor. Some of the chips I ate were slightly stale. The queso reminded me of a grilled cheese sandwich. My quesadilla was pretty good too. There's a lot of flavor in each bite, and a few poblano peppers added in. Didn't expect it. The service was alright. They were not as attentive as I had hoped, but I completely understand because it's a full house. So I don't discredit them. I got a sweet tea and asked for some creamer, but they only gave me two. I would have wanted at least three or four. But I didn't want to bother anyone. The decor is nice inside and it's really cool indoors, away from the awful heat. The table decor is really pretty too. I think overall if you have some extra cash you might enjoy eating here, however it is still a bit pricey. I'm not sure I've ever eaten a quesadilla that was more than $12. I don't think the price is worth it.

I have frequented the Blue Goose Cantina in McKinney for I believe seven or so times; five dine-in experiences and two carry-out experiences. Overall, I would recommend the location and have found the food to be enjoyable and tasty. The service has always been hit and miss; on a few of my visits there have been issues with getting the order correct, delivery of a plate to the wrong person, and a general lack of positivity - nothing worth being negative about, however, it can detract from the overall experience and my previous attempts to communicate concerns are genuinely received without regard from the on-duty manager. The little things like having to ask for drink, chips, or salsa refills. Seeing wait staff busy on their cellular phones instead of walking their service area. I have even had one occasion to overhear two employees speaking negatively about some of their customers, clearly not aware not their voices were easy to hear. There are portions of the meals that are reheated on the plate, but again, it has not been an issue for me or my guests, but you can tell. I would say that this location gets the majority of its business from repeat customers and the lunch crowd, but I really believe they could take things up a notch and really deliver better service. Like I said, I return to the location because of the food and I can overlook these issues I have shared.

*update: wish each trip was as good as the first. Staff struggled today with the basics. The food was okay, and it was definitely a step down. Although A/C wasn't working, we were sat under a fan, and it worked well enough. Long wait for drink refills, condiments and check. It was odd that none of us received sour cream. We opted not to ask as it was taking too long to receive anything that was asked for because each time it was forgotten. We gave up. This took my rating from. A 5 star down to a 3 star. Amazing as always! The food is great, and staff is incredible!

My tamales were cold and dry. I ordered taco frescoes and did not like them but they came out hot. Our server Mia was excellent and Brittany, the manager, could not have been more accommodating and took everything but the replacement meal off the tab. She was very genuine in her effort to rectify the situation and turn our experience around without being over bearing or overly apologetic. We will go back to try the fajitas as they smelled amazing going out to a nearby table. Because of our interaction with these two ladies, my never again turned into let's give it another try. They both handled the challenge like the pros they are. Well done, ladies.

Cool vibe, but we weren't impressed with the food. Chicken fajitas were super dry and almost impossible to choke down. Our server was excellent though.

Food was mid and service was slow with not everything coming out so our food wasn’t warm. Had to ask multiple times so we could get our food and drinks. Only thing good were the chips and salsa and the beer.

This was our first time to this location. The Peach Margarita was delicious. The food was okay. I ordered the Pick 3 Combo with 2 crispy tacos and an avocado toastada. The tacos had hardly any meat in them. We ordered nachos as an appetizer but they came out with the meal and they were cold. The waitress served our food with no silverware. The queso arrived but by then we were out chips. She took an extremely long time to bring us silverware and chips. We go to the Frisco Blue Goose all the time but we were really disappointed in the McKinney location. It wasn't the same experience we were used to.

I always go the the Blue Goose in Plano on Park and it's awesome! The one in McKinney was not so good. The rice was old abs the charro beans had no meat nor seasoning. I will drive to Plano no problem.

Blue Goose Cantina was okay — not terrible, but definitely not as good as I remembered. We got the queso, which was actually really good, but everything else was kind of bland and dry. The chips and nachos didn’t have much flavor, and the rice and beans were just average. I was especially disappointed with the homemade tortillas — they used to be amazing, but this time they were off and just didn’t taste the same. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but for the price and what I’ve had there before, it just didn’t live up to expectations.

Service is good. Atmosphere is nice but it's too loud. Food was absolutely terrible. I currently live at the North tip of South Texas. So that I understand the Mexican food down here might be a little better but this is definitely commercialized Mexican food. No flavor horrible sauces. Even one of my friends next to me said their enchiladas was horrible just like mine were. It's a cool little place you might like the food I just didn't this visit.

Been to this location a few times. Maybe it was the holiday but the store wasn’t the cleanest during lunch. The food was over salted making it difficult to consume with any satisfaction. Our server was professional and helpful. Purchased an adult meal and tried to buy a kids meal as well and was told it was against corporate policy to sell kids menu items to an adult regardless of regular meals purchased. I’d recommend trying other locations nearby who are amazing and care about customer service not Pennie’s.

Every was great except the tequila shot I ordered. The first one came out and I could taste the water in it so I asked the server to take it back and the next one was the same. I literally watched the bartender pour the second one. So that told me it was the bottle that was watered down. What kind of restaurant does this ?!

Ordered ground beef nachos for $17. There was no cheese on some of the nachos and about $2 worth of toppings. Maybe 2 oz of meat total in the order and 1 oz of cheese. Not what you should get for $17.

Recently they have changed. We used to eat at BG 1-2x a week—it has been a family favorite.Monday evening we decided to meet friends there for dinner. Our sever who we’ve never had was not attentive and seemed to be in the weeds with not many tables. Then my daughter who has a medical condition and can not eat more than 1-2 slices of a quesadilla was forced to order off the adult menu even though she never has had to do so ever before. The manager was not compassionate at all even after explaining my daughter’s condition. I told her she could charge me $1-2 extra for my 13 yr old ordering off the kids meal. Multiple changes over the past months—we will choose to take our business elsewhere.

We have loved coming here for years, but the service has really gone down in the past few months. Servers are not present, don’t bring refills of drinks or chips, and don’t check on their tables. Food is good, but service is most definitely not. Really disappointing since it used to be a favorite restaurant of ours.

If you want AMAZING food, go!! With out a question.. great service, that might not always be. It typically takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. I can deal with busyness, but the service that we experience last night was unfortunately more impactful that the REALLY GREAT food. The server seemed disengaged to begin, which I can put aside, but got worse. Drinks (bar) and appetizer came out with the food after asking 2 different servers about refills and drinks queso. There were multiple times that we had to ask other staff for things. To add to it, we were right next to the kitchen/server station, where are server was talking/joking around with other staff. I don’t mind about the having a good time, but he was RIGHT next to our table and barely checked on the table. The last frustration was that we had a full table of 4 with a lot of REALLY DELICIOUS food and lots of plates. There was absolutely no pre-busing the table. It’s unfortunate because this would have been a top notch experience if it weren’t for the very bad customer service. If management would like more information for feedback, I can share more.

My husband And I Have been here Probably 20 times. We absolutely loved the food and of course the popular Diablo drink. I’m not sure what has changed, but both of us have had this blue goose restaurant twice in the past month And have ended up Horrifically ill. My husband hasn’t thrown up in 15 years and we have gotten horrible food poisoning both times. The first time I was 38 weeks pregnant And thought I was in labor. This time I’ve been throwing up for 12 hours straight and it’s been awful. I’m so disappointed in this place. I thought the first time may be a fluke but now I will never eat here again.. Makes me question food, quality, and cleanliness. I literally never write reviews, but I’m just poor warning people of how awful this food poisoning has been now twice.

Been here several times but never again & don't recommend this location. It was a busy Thursday night. We got table at 6:40pm. Waited 30 minutes for waitress to take our food orders & finally received food exactly 1 hour after we were seated. Not to mention we had to find other waiters to bring chips/salsa while we waited for an hour. After food arrives my husband pulls a hair out of his mouth that was in the food. Waitress nor manager apologized, but did remake the order. Received the bill & they didn't offer comp anything, so we asked them to. It's just common good customer service to comp a meal after something like that & for the manager to apologize for the bad service. I understand that it was busy, but the lack of care from the server & management isn't ok.
