Toros Cantina is a newly renovated Mexican restaurant praised for its delicious food, generous portions, and friendly service. Customers rave about the Pollo Loco, Chicken Pina Fajita, and spicy steak tacos. Some note inconsistencies in portion sizes.
Tip: Ask for servers Aaron, Brandon, Carlos, Fatima or Estaban for attentive service and recommendations.
all 7 members of our party thoroughly enjoyed their dinners. excellent food and service. highly recommend.
We stopped here unexpectedly because traffic was backed up and we were hungry. The salsa and chips were so good and fresh! We ordered nachos. They were great! The food was over all, fresh and real!!
this is my new fav ❤️ Mexican spot. its one thing to have legit Mexican food, another entirely where they have good service. good service is what makes or breaks a place. this place has both.
Great and tasty food! Place is clean and roomy!
Food was super Fresh! Staff is friendly and service was fast and on point! Definitely in rotation
Great service for a table of twelve. Big plates of food. Everyone enjoyed it.
We had a celebratory dinner with 18 friends on a busy Friday evening. The service was excellent and the server, Esteban, and his crew were outstanding. Every order was perfect and delicious.
Delish food. Service was excellent even during their rush hour. Our party (of 10) had fajitas, queso, chicken nuggets, flautas and protein bowls with not one complaint. Highly suggest!
The food was amazing and the drinks were also amazing. The server was patient, friendly and helpful. Our food came quickly. We had the freshly made guacamole, the chicken fajitas, the garlic shrimp, all of which tasted great. Their rice and beans was yummy! Their salsa had a mild kick to it, which I loved. The presentation of their drinks is top notch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. It's not like any of the other restaurant of its type in the area. It's much better. Highly recommend giving them a try.
This place needs double the stars on here. In my top 3 best in the US for Mexican food. Not your ordinary run of the mill place like most. Definitely worth trying.
I am always on the hunt for a great Mexican restaurant that is not cookie cutter. Most of the other restaurants all taste the same. Toros has the best quality food and it is prepared to perfection. Best shrimp 🍤 tacos i have eaten hands down!
A very nice authentic atmosphere. The wait staff is fast, polite and attentive. The salsa, chicken fajitas, shrimp and steak dishes were hearty and very good. Our first time here and we will be back. Muy bueno.
The service is unmatched from the moment you walk in the door and the food... Out of this world, especially the fresh guacamole with great flavor! I will be back and am willing to drive an hour just to go back again! Everything was phenomenal!
Good food and relaxing 🍽 dining staff is great
We’ve been twice in one week. The food is absolutely amazing. So full of flavor. The serving sizes are huge! We always have to go boxes. (Even our teenagers) Service is wonderful. Very relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
We had an unforgettable lunch at Toro’s Cantina in Mebane, NC to celebrate a very special occasion—my protégé, Aleksey Fraser, graduating with her Master’s in Nursing from UNCW with a perfect 4.0 GPA! The atmosphere was lively and inviting, perfect for marking such a meaningful milestone. I ordered the steak fajitas, and they were nothing short of incredible—tender, perfectly seasoned, and sizzling hot when they arrived at the table. The fresh toppings and warm tortillas brought it all together beautifully. For dessert, the flan was smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet—an ideal way to end the meal. The service by our waiter, Aaron, was attentive and friendly, and the staff made our celebration feel truly special. Toro’s is more than just great food—it’s a great experience. I highly recommend it for any occasion or just when you’re craving top-quality Mexican cuisine. We’ll definitely be back!
Love how they have a spot for Huey's on the menu. Food was yummy. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was great!! Love the interior design and cute patio. I noticed my favorite servers that use to be at my other favorite Mexican restaurant. This is more convenient for me since I moved out of town but still make the 30min drive for Mexican food. This is probably my new go to spot. I'll have to test the margarita next time tho
We dine here frequently. Love the fresh made Guacamole. Service is always fast and accurate. The wait time for your food is never long. The whole staff is friendly! We share a plate because there is so much food in an order.
We really felt like the last thing Mebane needed was another Mexican restaurant, but this place turned out to be so good! The food is unique and delicious. Love the guacamole bar. Every dish we've tried has been outstanding. The throwback to Huey's is sweet.
The place was great. Everyone was very nice and polite and our waitress Marlene was so nice and attentive. Would recommend this place over other Hispanic food in the general area.
We had an incredible experience here. The food was out of the world, the staff was quick and kind, and the portions were very generous. Our toddlers were grumpy and our waiter came by and made them balloon animals. Will be coming back for sure!
I went tonight - delicious food! My husband tried the margaritas and the chorizo and shrimp tacos. He said the tacos were “magnificent”. I had the ACP - best in town, by far. The prices were great too. Service was good and fast. Hostess was friendly and the place was clean. I eat at Catrina’s and La Fiesta a lot, but now we have a new place! Not sure about the negative reviews - this place is awesome.
Toros in Mebane is the absolute best food- I highly recommend the King Toros burrito, Pollo con Queso (for a lighter option), birria tacos, and flautas. And the BBQ wings are so delicious (they are a blend of BBQ with medium into one flavor- great with their ranch). The staff are all incredibly friendly, especially Esteban and Fatima!
I’m from Chicago and have been living in NC for 6 years now, I am always on the look out for some good food with lots of flavor and especially a place that closes late, their guacamole is so good! Totally recommend.
The food as my girlfriend said “the best Hispanic food you can eat”, the quesabirria was $15, and easily worth $25 or $30. The drinks were amazing as well and really good prices. We got the cocobongo as well as the patito borracho, both were absolutely amazing and greatly priced. Absolutely blown away by how good the food, drink, and the service from our server Roberto, he said he was new but he was extremely respectful and patient, as well as gave great recommendations.
5 stars for the food, service and the vibe of the place. Food was excellent, service was top notch, our waiter went out of the way to take care of our needs. Will be going back when I get a chance.
Great food, very attentive, friendly staff! They treated us as appreciated guests.
I’ve visited this location for the first time after a visit to the outlets, it didn’t disappoint, the place is very nice, you can choose to seat at their dinning, the bar side or if the weather is nice in their patio. I had the steak con queso and the meat was cooked perfectly very tender and juicy, it was more than enough!! Staff very friendly can wait to go back to that restaurant and then visit the outlets to walk off the food.
They have the biggest drinks menu that I've ever seen. The mango jalapeño was so fresh. The food was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
Good food and an amazing staff! Their food is reasonably priced. Don't let what we spent on tons of drinks and apps fool you! It's a must go and is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in Mebane.
Our group of 7 had an excellent experience here today for a late lunch! We walked in and immediately noticed a 100 health inspection rating. After being seated promptly, our waiters were very helpful, friendly and quick. The drinks were great, and the food was fresh and delicious. As a special touch, before we left, one of the waiters pulled my young son aside and created/gave him a ballon sword. My son played with it the rest of the day! We can’t wait to return!
My husband took me to Toros Cantina Mebane for my birthday, and it was absolutely worth the hour-long drive! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. Our waiter, Esteban, was incredible—his personality truly shined and made our whole night. He set the standard for what exceptional service should be—attentive, friendly, and full of energy. The food? Absolutely a 12/10. Every dish was made to order, and you could taste the freshness in every bite. The guacamole was hands down the freshest I’ve ever tasted, and I make homemade guacamole myself! You could tell everything was prepared with care and top-quality ingredients. The fried ice cream was a first for me, and it was out of this world! I’ve been craving it ever since and can’t wait to have it again. We’ll definitely be making the drive again for such an unforgettable meal and service.
The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and always very fast! We come a few times a week and have never gotten anything that wasn’t a 10/10.
I do not like Mexican food. My husband loves it! We both love this place since we first tried it on Fathers day and have come back twice in the 6 weeks since our first visit. Joel LOVES the birria every way they serve it. I love the grilled vegetables and black beans, the quesadillas and tacos. Plus, they saute mushrooms if I ask. And, let me tell you, the cheese dip is the best you will ever try! I eat it over EVERYTHING and then order a cup to take away. Truly, I could be happy with just the cheese dip and tortillas and dessert. We've tried both the fried ice cream and the skillet cookie, and we can't decide which is better. We do agree that the cookie needs a second scoop of ice-cream to be perfect. So, be sure to order yours that way! The drinks are both gorgeous and delicious, and the variety is head-spinning. Aaron is a terrific waiter who is smart with suggestions and patient with requests. This place is off the highway, but not too far, and it's oh so good!
Food and the service was great. They had made a mistake on one of our orders. They did a great job of making sure they fixed the problem and made everything right.
First time at Toro's, the parking lot has been FULL when I pass. Excited to get in and give it a try, finally. We went around 1:45pm, so after the lunch rush. Our server was really nice, just wish she checked in a little more often. Food was excellent. It was evident Toro's doesn't seemingly operate like most other traditional Mexican restaurants in America, where they pre-cook lots of the food and just reheat it when ordered. Everything came out fresh and hot, still steaming hot actually. Every single cut of my beef was tender as it could be, so every evident the ingredients are top quality and also cooked fresh. We had chori queso dip for an app, it was a little thin for my liking bother otherwise it was great. She had the pastor quesadilla with fries, which was enjoyed and enough to take some home. I had Chilie Don Toro, which was fantastic. There was a layer of spice (read - spice, not spicy) that was a very pleasant addition to what I anticipated the flavors to be. I also ordered a large Modelo Negra with extra lime, and it came to the table fresh and crispy in a heavily frosted mug, outstanding. Will recommend to any and all! Some folks I know commented on the prices being higher than other restaurants, but it is clearer due to the higher level of quality ingredients. Only let this encourage you go go!
Second time here. The food was excellent both times. Food was hot and tasty. The only negative things i could say about this place is the extra charge for not paying cash and the temperature of the dinning area was too warm, i was sweating while trying to eat my plate of hot carnitas enchiladas. Servers are friendly also. This spot will stay in my rotation of places to eat.
I’m in love with this place and the food! We order the Guacamole mexicano, cheese and beans dip, steak con queso and burrito Al pastor (this one was my favorite) but everything is really good! I also order the mango-berry shaker and it was great, it’s like getting 3 drinks in one. For dessert we had fried ice cream. Highly recommended.
Really good food. Great service - Esteban is the best waiter in Alamance County. My favorite menu items - the fresh guac & the Quesabirria.
We went for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious, the drinks were tasty and esthetically pleasing. The atmosphere was a clean modern, Spanish-Western fusion vibe. Definitely worth visiting again. Our only "disappointment" was that our server was making balloon animals/figures and my 4 years old asked politely multiple times for a purple sword and never got it, so her feelings were hurt and she left in tears. Other than that tiny little thing, great experience and would definitely return and recommend.
I was lucky enough to eat dinner with my cousins today! They're local and absolutely love Toros. I am wary about Mexican food because I have an onion allergy, which is pretty limiting as onion are a common ingredient in Mexican food. At Toros, my allergy was accommodated with no issue. I had incredible shrimp fajitas, and my family ate INCREDIBLE food also! I ordered a grande paloma, and it was ENORMOUS. We had an outstanding dinner with awesome and attentive service, great food, and at a great price. We plan to make this a tradition for our visits and we can't wait to come back.
literally my favorite place! i ordered yesterday and they forgot my tacos, they called me as i was walking back in to say they had the tacos and they were waiting for me to come grab! my friends and family come here at least once a week!! amazing managers and staff members! 10/10 every single time.
Best Mexican food east of the Mississippi. We've been coming here regularly for almost 2 years, and it's consistently fabulous. Every dish we've tried is thoughtfully crafted and unique, the service is phenomenal. I've had quality Mexican food in Arizona, California, and New Mexico, I can confidently say Toro's ranks among the best! My favorite is anything with the shredded beef, and the tres leches cake for dessert.
Went there in December. Reserved a table for 20. Ended up with a little over 40. They accommodated us anyway. For a party that large the service was still top notch. Smiles no attitude. Food and drinks was pretty quick. Thumbs up to the management and staff
Tonight was my first time here with my family. The food was AMAZING! Everything tasted wonderful and there were enough options on the menu to satisfy everyone, including my 6 year old. The portions were large enough to share and still feel full. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of the gentleman who served us, but he did an excellent job! He pulled my daughter's seat out for her and even split up a dish for my children so I didn't have to. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! We will absolutely be back in the near future! 🙂
My husband and I tried this place for the first time for dinner and we will definitely be back. Our server, Brandon, was one of the best waiters we have had at any restaurant recently. He gave us good recommendations, brought refills without us asking, and checked on us several times during our visit. The food is reasonably priced and very generous portions. The fajita trio dish has more than enough for two people. Definitely worth being another one of our regular restaurants in the area.
Had awesome grilled chicken bowl. More than enough goodness to fill you up. Love that the salsa has a bite - not boring mild. Chips are good, fesh and crispy. Still miss Hueys, tho. It was a Mebane institution!
This review has been edited 10/25/25: Initially I gave them only 2 stars because I was agitated over the attitude they gave me when asking for some extra chips. That said, I am a fair person and give credit when credit is due so here’s my initial review: Been here several times and we absolutely love it. It’s as authentic to traditional Mexican cuisine as you would find in the area. If you like guac you need to try their homemade one. Hands down the best! Their house hot sauce is delicious as well as their house salsa. My Edit 10/25:25: Ok so let’s admit there’s dozens of Spanish and Mexican restaurants along with food trucks all over Alamance County. Today, we went to San Marcos in Burlington for lunch. I am assuming they are under new management because the food and service was just horrible. I ordered a ground beef quesadilla and it only had ground beef and melted cheese for $9 bucks. I could’ve gone to Taco Bell and gotten a better one for less in cost. The service was awful. We had to ask for napkins twice being there weren’t any when we were sat down. I ordered the guac appetizer and for $6.50 it was a very small cup. For $9 at Toro Cantina you get a bowl and the quality is way better. They never checked in halfway through on how our lunch was. I can keep going but it’s not worth the extra key punches. We are going back to the Cantina to hit the reset button. Hopefully we continue to get good service moving forward! Last edit 11/12/25: I had the King Toros burrito with shrimp and beef. It came with a good amount of guac btw. I’m going back to my 5 star review because they’re extremely difficult to beat!
My wife and I have been there twice. The first visit I got Pollo Loco, it was delicious! The sauce was just the right blend. My wife got the fish tacos and enjoyed them also. The 2nd time I got the Chicken Pina Fajita meal with hot corn tortillas. Just as good as the previous meal! This time my wife got the Mexican hamburger. You would think a hamburger at a Mexican restaurant wouldn't be any good, but it was one of her favorites! Waitress was very kind both times.
I literally cannot explain how great this place is. We’re from east of the triangle and came out to pick something up, realized we were starving, and looked for whatever was close by… we did not expect to find this in Mebane. I was impressed from start to finish. Not only was the food PHENOMENAL (literally the best guacamole I’ve ever had in my life, including my visit to Sayulita, Mexico—- yes this is as shocking to me as it must be to read), but the service was quite literally perfect. Our server, Brandon, was so attentive to every single need and also made me feel good about the items I was ordering, which idk why, but it helped the experience be even more positive lol. The food and margaritas were so much better than I could have guessed (or found near Raleigh), but the fact Brandon was so great made us realize we need to make the hour+ drive back out just for this restaurant.
Great food, fun vibe, and killer drinks. Every dish was fresh and full of flavor. The margaritas were strong and on point but Michelada stole the show. Service was fast and friendly, and the energy in the place made the whole experience even better. A solid go-to for a casual night out or weekend hang. FYI photos don’t do justice to the taste and flavors.
2nd time here and we loved the prompt service, casual atmosphere & ofcourse the delicious options. Fatima was wonderfully attentive and was very accommodating for my vegetarian option - mushroom & onion quesadilla. The spicy steak tacos was on point. Definitely getting this next time. A couple of dos xx to complete the meal! Highly recommend and will be back.
Ok so, let's star with service, service was alright, Aaron took care of us, very nice guy very quick, nice person, we liked it. Environment was nice, I like the vibes of a new restaurant, restaurant looks good I like it the only thing I didn't like was that for some reason I left the restaurant smelling like I was at the kitchen cooking the food, my whole clothes was smelling like food which I usually never happens but no big deal. OK NOW FOOD: I liked it a lot, it was very good, I got the Enchiladas an Steak, Enchiladas were very nice, Steak was alright I had to put a little salt to it to have a taste, but I really liked it here, the only think I didn't like was the proportion of the food that I got, is Lunch, I wanna eat a lot, I think we should get more rice and beans and that will make it perfect, But anyways, I like everything, is not a 10/10 is more like a 7/10 but I liked it, I'll defend come back
Went here over the weekend and it was outstanding! My dish was one of the best I've had in a long time, and my drink was reasonably priced and delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and drinks as well. Server was great, he even drew a little message on my to go box! Can't wait to go back again when I'm in Mebane. I've seen some low reviews but that was not our experience in the slightest.
The ambiance was great and away from downtown and busy areas. The food was fast and very delicious. I'm big on presentation and they did excellent. Their black beans and yellow rice were seasoned well. There are 2 separate entrances, the bar entrance has plenty of seating inside and outside. Plenty of parking (more in the back). I will go as far as to say this is the best Mexican restaurant in Mebane.
This restaurant is what used to be Huey's. Friendly welcome at the door. Newly renovated. Attentive waiter Carlos. Delicious food at fair prices. Huge portions. See pictures with silverware for reference. It's very refreshing to get a generous portion at a fair price. I loved my lemon pepper fish, and my wife loved her stuffed peppers. If you like lemon pepper wings, you will love it on fish. Lots of avocado on salad. Toros has kept a few items from Huey's (fried fish, fried shrimp), but they can do so much more as my lemon pepper dish demonstrated. Our two meals with water after tax was $38. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Mebane, and Toros is trying hard to be your first choice.
4.7 out of 5 stars … Great food, very happy with their decent list of options, all of which are prepared with respect to the dish and the customer. That they are happy to handle special requests (no cheese etc due to sensitivities / intolerances / allergies ) is also very nice Atmosphere is fine, just note that it’s a popular place so it’s often busy - every time my family has eaten here we heard the waiters singing “happy birthday” to someone What is really heartening is that whole place truly appears to try hard
Music is pretty loud for a weekend night, but it makes for a fun vibe. If you are planning to eat alone, be prepared to sit with a stranger. They don't have tables for one when it is a busy night. You will need to share a 4 top with another couple. Isn't an issue on a weeknight or lunch, though. There is plenty of space.
Stopped in here to grab something small to eat as I was hungry on the road. So I just got the Nachos Supreme with chicken. It was pretty good, but the description said it would have cheese dip (queso) on top and this has shredded cheese on top instead. Which is not what I wanted/expected. The real reason it was easy to tell was because not all of the cheese was melted! It was still pretty good, chicken has decent flavor, just wish it came with the queso on top. Nachos - 4.5/10
We went last Friday night and it was a great time. Our drinks and appetizers were really good and most of the food was very good. The only bad dish was the ceviche. It seemed like they added a bunch of soy sauce or maggi seasoning and that is not what ceviche is supposed to be. Overall a good price, good atmosphere, good service, and food that needs a bit of improvement.
I enjoyed the food at Toros Cantina. Our server was really good and attentive. Everyone working there seemed very friendly and helpful. Chips and salsa was good. There was a little too much Mexican oregano in it but it was still good. That stuff can really get away from you in a salsa. It's just a pinch per gallon. More takes the other flavors away. I had the enchiladas supreme and it was ok. It was missing a sauce (which I prefer but the dish is open to interpretation). It was also buried under an unusual amount of lettuce. Can't see the food in the picture. Not a big deal but in my experience, this dish is important because it shows everything a Mexican restaurant can do on one plate. It was still the best I've had in North Carolina so far. The chicken and cheese ones were spot on. Other dishes pictured were good and well prepared. In the dining room, the runners/bussers also made fresh guacamole to order and I really enjoyed watching the process. She used a molcajete to put it all together and it was terrific. I could have watched that being made all day with a bowl of chips. Absolutely delicious. One of my kids asked for dessert and I didn't want any because I was also trying everyone else's food but then I saw a cheesecake sopapilla and I've never seen that before. So off I go and it was fantastic. I associate sopapillas with honey and there wasn't any but it was still great and I had to beat my kids off of it with a stick. Just a great experience. We'll be back.
Our first experience was wonderful! Food was absolutely amazing, & I have to say the bathtub drink was the cutest. 🥰 They did get busy and have to send some waitstaff to the other side but immediately picked up the lull on the bar side without missing a beat. Heads up the Bloody Mary isn’t ur traditional style, has a Latin flare to it.
The food at Torros is undeniably delicious, which is why my family and I have made it our regular Sunday dinner spot. While the cuisine is impressive, it’s the exceptional service from Estabon that truly sets our experience apart. We always request him, yet I’ve noticed some eye rolls and disapproving looks from the hosts when we do. Although our alternate server was satisfactory, Estabon’s attentive service is what keeps us returning. It’s disheartening to feel resistance for simply wanting the best for our dining experience. My daughters adore him, and he consistently anticipates our needs. Having worked in the service industry for over a decade, I understand the importance of accommodating customer preferences. It would be beneficial for the establishment to recognize and support their outstanding staff, allowing them to thrive and earn their deserved tips.
I’ve been here several times and usually enjoy the food and service. The main ongoing issue has been inconsistency — portion size, presentation, and execution vary a lot visit to visit, even though the food itself is generally good. Today, though, the service situation was uncomfortable. I ordered the Baja grilled fish tacos and they came out fried. When I mentioned it, the server said that if he sent them back, he would have to pay for them out of his pocket. That put me in an awkward position, so I didn’t send them back and just ate them. While they were fine, they weren’t what I ordered. Later, when clearing the plate, the comment “oh, so you liked it” felt unnecessary and dismissive. Mistakes happen — that’s not the issue. But guests shouldn’t feel pressured to accept the wrong order, especially due to internal staff policies. I hope management addresses this- there are plenty of other options in Mebane and this place will go downhill quick with this kind of experience. Especially since this is a place I use to bring guests too consistently- that’s not happening anymore.
I placed an order online, Nachos with stake and a side of beans and some salsa. The chips were horrible, from the flavor, very thin and all soggy. the salsa same thing flavor not good and has to many spices…The only good thing was the beans, the stake was ok. They did ask (on the order form) if I needed silverware and I said yes.. there was none on the bag, same with napkins. They did charge for this and that… but from the time I showed up and they told me my order wasn’t ready… (online said it was) to know everything is inside the bag..
There is no flavor to the fishes we ordered. I had to put every sauce available on the chicken to have some flavor.
I had dinner here on Friday 7/19/24. It was very busy, but since I was by myself I was able to find a seat at the bar. After about ten minutes I was able to hail one of the two bartenders who were nonstop slinging drinks for the overly crowded restaurant. The bar is very small and you are right on top of the action so it’s not a very relaxing experience at all. I ordered a draft beer which was fine and started to nibble on the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa did taste homemade and had a nice kick to it. Chips were stale and had no salt. I was finally able to order some food after about 25 min. I went with the King Toros Fajitas. The menu states that it comes with premium steak, chicken, and shrimp along with tomatoes, onions, peppers, mixed vegetables, salad, rice and beans and tortillas. The food came out about 15 minutes after I ordered. I noticed right away that it did not look like traditional fajitas when I saw cauliflower, broccoli and carrots on the skillet. The premium steak was no different than the other steak that I had seen on other fajita entrees. I pointed out to the server/bartender that there were no peppers onions and tomatoes and she acted like she did not understand and tried to show me a photo of the entree. I showed her where the menu specifically says what it comes with and that I did not receive that. After some back and forth they finally were able to understand what I was asking for and brought out a half cooked skillet of peppers onions and tomatoes. The dish itself was just bad overall. The proteins had no seasoning, the vegetables were not cooked very well, the rice and beans were cold and the tortillas were cold and obviously straight out of a plastic bag. Honestly the worst fajitas I have ever eaten. I may give them another chance someday, but this experience was not good at all. And to top it all off they added a credit card surcharge to the already overpriced generic Tex-Mex food. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately cannot recommend it.
I had high hopes for Toros Cantina. Sadly, the prices did not live up to the quality of the food. $25 was spent on 2 drinks. Way overpriced. The empandas were grease filled pockets instead of flaky pastries coming in at $14. The Chile Don Toro tasted good but not good enough to justify a $100 bill for 2 people to have dinner in Mebane.
Worst experience ever! The grilled chicken in the menu picture is not what you get. It was a weird tasting chicken pancake. Then the mgr told me he was going to charge me extra for a new salad. The guacamole and chips were good and the server was amazing I heard good things but to me it was so gross. Taco Bell level
Atmosphere was good. The food was eh, I ordered the street tacos Diablo (I think). I asked for no steak just chorizo, well needless to say it had more steak than chorizo. Asked the waiter if there was any chorizo in it and he points to a piece. I was baffled because this wasn't what I ordered. He acted like he didn't care. I've been to other Mexican restaurants where I get street tacos with chorizo and it's flavorful and chorizo unlike here. My husband had 2 burritos with chicken and beef. He said the chicken was dry. My experience here was terrible and won't be going back. Having to pay for something I didn't eat or order ridiculous. Pay $40some dollars for a meal and still hungry..Then when my husband told the waiter he didn't offer to do anything about it. Service was unacceptable.
We got a Togo order but have been there before. Normally we eat in. The food I got was not even warm. The chips were stale. The El Pastore quesadilla barely had any meat. For over thirty dollars they need to do much better. We will not consider this location next time.
I ordered Pollo Con Queso, and my wife ordered a Vegetarian Fajita, "light onion and a few more tomatoes ". Hers came out, it seemed like seconds after we ordered. She looks at it and says there aren't any tomatoes. So we wait for the waiter, after a few minutes he comes over and says that he KNEW there weren't any and that he's "fixing it", then disappears. REALLY? Meanwhile, I still have NOT received my dinner. So, as her dinner gets cold as she waits for the FIX, my dinner is still missing in action. Waiter zooms up with a BIG plate of cooked tomatoes. Way, WAY, too many. The point is that they should be cooked in with the other veggies. WHERE is MY dinner??? She is halfway finished when mine FINALLY comes out. LESS my Rice and Tortillas. Let's eat and LEAVE. WE WILL NOT COME BACK. Third photo is my dinner.
Food was eh. Shrimp was white with burnt spots. Probably cooked in a hurry. Shrimp soup (Caldo de Camaron) made with shrimp without the shell and head. Not to my liking. Shrimp and head gives the Caldo so much flavor! And the broth was unpleasant. Made with broccoli and carrots. Did not taste like a True Caldo De Camaron. Wanted to experience the “Wow Factor” but did not experience it here. Did have some awesome Cantaritos! And service was great! Lively atmosphere! But it didn’t change the fact of the quality of these two dishes.
