Thought I needed a latte and, being new to Merida and Santiago Parque, I just googled what was open near my house. What I found was an excellent latte and the best almond croissant I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. How lucky am I this gem is just a three minute walk from my house?
I've enjoyed the breakfast here several times. It'sd like a museum of sweets and deserts. Excellent artesian chocolates. Fabulous waffles and pastries for breakfast. YOu have to try this place.
A sweet cafe well worth a visit. The selection of desserts was impressive. I had a delicious hot chocolate and we took a few cookies to go. They did not disappoint. We also bought chocolate as gifts. The vibe was chill and relaxing and the staff, super patient (we asked questions) friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend this cafe.
The opera cake and macarons are gluten free (or at least wheat flour free). We tried the opera cake which was delicious, the americano coffee was good and the cajeta iced latte was delicious but definitely quite a sweet treat (wish I had added an extra espresso shot to balance it out). The other cakes and pastries looked delicious, wish I had room to try more.
Delicious and satisfying. I have been there twice, and it has not disappointed. The food is filling, and as sweet (or not) as you would like. Their cafe is spot on, and while reserved, their service is polite, quick, and respectful. 10/10 would go there again, and again.
Just had a full-blown pastry awakening at Placer y Delirio! The name doesn’t lie—pure pleasure with a side of delirium. Every bite had me questioning my life choices (like why I haven’t been here sooner). The pastries? Outrageously delicious. The vibe? Cool enough to make your iced coffee jealous. Service was great—friendly without being fake. 10/10 would sell my diet plan for another croissant.
Very, very cool coffee house. Great coffee and pastries. Friendly staff that speaks English. Couldn't have been more pleased with the atmosphere and the overall experience. I'm sure I'll be going back. Of note, not much of a street presence (signage, etc.) but it's there. The coffee shop is on the right when you walk in the main entrance. Real classy at a good price!
Excellent coffee, tea, and pastries. We sat and ate in their small eating area and also took many breads and pastries to go with us to enjoy later. Everything was delicious especially the chocolate croissants. Waitstaff was helpful and kind. We are looking forward to our next visit already.
This is an absolutely lovely spot tucked away on Calle 59. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming street approach. This place is special. Once inside, it is absolutely delightful. So many wonderful options to choose from. Everything from the sweet, to the savory, to the chocolatey! On top of it all, they have a variety of hot drinks to choose from. They have a super friendly staff to boot! Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the city.
We stopped in for a dessert and had a couple of frappes as well. Nice little find in Merida. Friendly staff too, lots of great choices!

We heard about the place in TikTok and decided to give it a go. The place is located near downtown Merida and they specialize in chocolate products although they have café and bakery to enjoy while i…
My husband and I love this place. We pretty well come once a day as my husband is addicted to the Mocha frappe drink. It is delicious. We had the same type drinks at Starbucks off Paseo de Monte…

Went it thinking it was a chocolate museum. It was not. The place looks cute when you walk in, but sit outside if it's a nice day. I had the Americano, and it was exactly what you'd expect. I tried three items: 1. macarron- perfect 2. tarta de fruta - more crust than anything 3. Chocolate cake covered in chocolate w/ sprinkles on top - the shell was hard, and it didn't have enough cake. Might as well buy a chocolate bar. Overall, it was good, but not what I expected.
A lovely quaint bakery just across the Parque de Santiago. The assortment looks lovely and it's great to see how much effort is put into the dishes and coffee. I'm going to be frank here, though. We ordered a tiramisu chocolate cake, a violet macaron and a passion fruit Charlotte Russe. The tiramisu cake was the absolute winner here: soft, not too heavy, nice chocolate and cream taste. The passion fruit Charlotte russe still can use some work: maybe a bit less gelatin, eggs beaten more and a swirl of passion fruit and lemon to give it a kick or refreshing center. The violet macaron was a bit "soap-tasting", mostly because it was paired with dark chocolate - it felt like the violet needs to amp up its power to emerge from the chocolate. I'd rather the violet would be paired with some fruity (black- or blueberry or cream/white chocolate-like ganache). It would make it a bit more subtle I think. Well, aside all this commentary, it's very nice to see such effort into cakes and coffee in Mérida. Their cappuccino is amazing though, I can really recommend.
This small cake and coffee shop next to the Museum of Chocolate is not just open until late (with the handwritten sign outside indicating a 22:00 closing time), but had a surprisingly large selection of cakes when we dropped by around 20:30. First things first: I really liked my double espresso. As for the main attraction: out of the cakes I tried, I definitely preferred the tiramisu one. The passion fruit cake could have done with a bit more zest (and a bit less density), whereas the violet macaroon had - and this is going to sound unfair - a little too much violet. That said - the good selection of baked goods, the friendly staff and the cosy courtyard make this place worth a visit.

Artistic pastries, decadent coffee drinks, and yummy breakfast. Would have given 5 stars but both our breakfasts weren't very hot by the time they were brought to the table. We loved the place and …
We had breakfast here based on the Google reviews are we were disappointed. The food and service were merely average at best. For what we got, it was expensive and not good value. We we will not be returning, especially since there are much better options nearby.
Mixed feelings here, service was not great, they were inattentive. We had to get up to get their attention although we were inside. The food wasn't that special either, my pastry was old. There are much better places with fresh pastry that is more tasteful. But the place has a nice vibe. Only when it rains and you have to use the bathroom you get soaked as the water poured down right in front of the bathroom because there is no gutter 😔
August 29, 2025. They sell old and stale bakery items. I got a selection of desserts. Some cake slices and some cookies to go and a croissant to eat in. The croissant they initially served me was old and stale. I let them know and she replaced it with a fresh one which was good. I was so embarrassed to serve my guests the desserts I had bought. EVERYTHING was stale, dry and inedible and I had to throw them away. Save your money. Go somewhere else
