My favorite sushi restaurant of all time! They have such unique sushi rolls and they consist mostly of the ingredients and less rice. Their music playlist is on point as well.

My favorite local sushi place. Their Yellowtail Jalapeño appetizer, Tuna Pizza and Kani salad better here than any other place I’ve been. Like many other places they have a great selection of fancy rolls but if you don’t want to spend a ton of money they have a great selection of inexpensive rolls. Try the Mexican, Passion, or any of the spicy crunchy rolls. Enjoy!!!

Impromptu Thursday night dinner with my wife at Xaga Asian in Merrick. Everything was very good, from the sake to the crisp, fresh salad to the delectable Kumamoto oysters (I’ll get her to try them someday) to the specialty rolls to the sashimi. We will return. Note: Lots of stairs (the restaurant has 3 levels), so consider this if someone in your party is on crutches or has difficulty with steps.

XAGA is always a delicious and delightful end to my day. The service is timely and polite. I haven't experienced a long wait time for a table because they have an upstairs and down. I would readily recommend people giving them a try.

Prior to COVID19, I frequently called in my order for delivery, and the Staff is very nice. Iam so glad that they reopened. Their food is so good that I suggested DoorDash add this Restaurant to their service list. I still call the Xaga Restaurant because, I can ask for more Ginger for the Sushi, etcetera. The Menu is extensive, and the food is very good.

They are one of the few people who still have Captain Morgan Cannon blast. Their sushi is very delicious and the drinks are very delicious too. In addition appetizers are served quickly.

Great variety of menu items including sushi, fried rice, noodles, desserts and drinks. Ample parking and attentive staff. This location also has an upper level which is great for date nights. My wife and I love to stop in for a quick order of sushi and Japanese style fried rice. Highly recommended!

Been coming here for years for Lunch Specials and some dinners and every time here is a real pleasure to eat at. Their Appetizers, Sushi, and hot dishes are all so quality and all worth the try. We almost always start with the Crispy Rock Shrimp, Spicy Tuna Pizza, and or the fried Calamari. This meal I decided to try the Double Delight and was very impressed, the crispy bass is perfect and the sauce pairs so well with the shrimp and vegetables. We love this spot and is great for small groups as well, and their service has consistently been friendly and attentive.

Asian fusion at a neighborhood restaurant. They actually do it quite well. Sushi is fresh, and I frequently order the Pad Thai.

The sushi is great and I can't complain about the service however I wouldn't suggest that non-sushi eaters eat here. The plates they serve are okay portions but a bit pricey and the plates aren't as flavorful.

Bento box Sashimi comes with bowl of hot and sour soup or miso,bowl of cold lettuce salad with lightly sweety and soury carrot ginger sauce,9 pieces of raw slices of tuna,salmon, two other fish varieties, siomai, tempuras of aubergine, courgettes, yellow yam ,then four cucumber and grilled eel skin nigiri rolls ; and steamed short grain Japanese rice, pickled slices of young gingerroot and reconstituted wasabi , aromatic hot green tea to cleanse your palate and warm your upper body is included in the price of about $20 .Good service staffs ,clean area,white table clothes,lighting decor is modern,well stocked bar,sushi chefs are about four on regular nights maybe more on weekends. Considering the price I give it 4.5.

Special rolls were very good and the options are good as well. Prices were around the same as other Sushi places in Merrick, maybe a dollar or two more for the premium rolls. Wait staff was quite attentive, and food came out quickly. The worker's weren't the most friendly, but the place was nice and the food was good. Not the best I've had, but still really good, despite the unfriendly staff. Recommended.

Came here with my SO for super late lunch. There weren't any other customers when we arrived (around 3-ish in the afternoon) but after 10 minutes or so, three more groups of people came in. The place can get packed towards dinner time. We got the shumai, shrimp tempura for me, and the chicken tempura for my SO. Got a bottle of Shirakawago Nigori as take out. Everything was delicious! Will definitely come back soon!

First time eating sushi in a long long time. Place was empty when we showed up after the weekend lunch hour bracket. A party group came in behind us and then the place was pretty busy after we left. Even though we showed up first, our order came out slowly. The presentation of the sushi rolls however was immaculate. We had a tuna roll that we weren't impressed with. Most everything else once you hit it with some soy and Wasabi was terrific. Clean your palate with a slice of ginger after each roll and start over.

This place has really good food. The issue is the service was horrible by the lady we had. We watched her stand there and watch TV while we tried to flag her down. There was a guy there very very nice. He saw where didn't get all our food and came over to save the day. The girl we had, you tell her thank you or ask for something she acted like she didn't want to be there.

Xaga sushi has some excellent rolls - the Soho Roll was particularly good. The Kani salad and soups were very good. The steak teriyaki was average. Service was good. The upstairs was empty when we got there but crowded and noisy when we left

Made reservations for Valentine's Day for my wife and I. Food was good, similar in quality to other local sushi places. The service was confusing and inconsistent. Server was nice, but forgot my wife's entree entirely... on Valentine's Day evening. So needed to wait several minutes while they assembled a whole sashimi dinner on short notice while my bento box sat there on the table. Then they decide to replace the clubby music selection with the NBA All-Star Game which they blasted out of all the restaurant speakers... again, on Valentine's Day during prime time?! I nicely requested they switch back to music for obvious reasons, which they did. But still, confusing. Overall okay sushi, below average service.

Went here for sushi. The menu is big. The creativity within the dishes is high. Sushi wasp pretty good. Had some special and regular rolls. Overall the wow in flavor was just missing for me. Might try it again I did really enjoy the menu was just looking for a little more pop.

Great food and nice setting. However the service was a little lackluster. It took a while just to get a refill on water and order more drinks. Also, someone in our party ordered the steak teriyaki which was not cut up and it took us a while to get a fork and knife.

Ordered Omikase...personally we liked the regular items on the menu better. Great value if you want a lot of food bc you can order as much as you want. Server was very nice. I don't eat sushi very frequently because it's costly for a guy like me who has a pretty good size appetite. Before I get critical, let me at least say that all the food was good but the sushi and rolls are really small for the price. The sushi pieces were only as wide as my finger, with a small grape size tidbit of rice underneath and the rolls were only mediocre in size as well. The pieces of fish on top of the rice were a reasonable size but I'm used to a more costly sushi restaurant providing you with pieces of fish w/rice under it that are almost difficult to eat in one mouthful. I don't get it! Usually a sushi restaurant will offer smaller pieces of sushi and smaller rolls as a way to be more reasonably priced, as opposed to sacrificing quality. This seems to be the reverse. Xaga isn't exactly the most expensive sushi around but the prices don't reflect the size of these sushi pieces and rolls. No sushi restaurant will remain open if it's not good quality and there's another sushi restaurant very close by, thats been open a long time, and is much more reasonably priced (for sushi at least). I just paid double the price for the same quality and quantity, Happy birthday to me!

This is usually a good sushi place. However I was disappointed with the last two times I ordered sushi for lunch from here. The sushi (salmon and tuna) did not taste very fresh. It tasted like it was frozen before, and after I ate it, I was stuck with a fishy taste in my mouth which was very unpleasant.

The food was delicious BUT the service was horrible. Yesterday they closed at 9:30 pm, we were finishing up our meal at 9:18 pm. We were told in a rude fashion that they were closing at 9:30 pm. They put up the chairs and actually took the food I was still eating from the table! I mentioned this to the manager and she seemed to care less.

The food was all right not terrible but nothing amazing.. The service was horrible our waitress was not pleasant seemed rushed and bothered, messed up our order. A lot of times the waitress was just watching TV and it was hard to get her attention. The ambience seems pretty depressing especially I went on a Saturday night. Last time I will be coming here. I should’ve waited the 45 min at kashi in bellmore- they’re service is amazing friendly service and amazing food.

Came here for my anniversary with my boyfriend and was very excited to try with the $50 AYCE and omakase deal. With 4.5 stars, I was not concerned with the quality of meat, however when the omakase came, the meat was very underwhelming in quality. Then, the best part of the meal came out, spicy tuna crackers. No complaints about that, but when the sushi came, it was 8 pieces instead of 4 (menu said 4). I was concerned with how large the portions were considering I could have been charged for what I didn’t eat but luckily it wasn’t the case. However, it did deter me from trying more rolls. Bad value, the rolls themselves were not good, however the service was fine! No complaints about the service, everything else was subpar.

I’m not sure how Xaga has so many positive reviews. The food/service was better years ago. We visited Saturday evening and the experience was off. Our waitress took the order, and then never returned until she brought us the check. No one came to see that the order was correct, etc. They no longer have the Duck dinner and our waitress recommended noodles with duck…there were a few scraps of meat. When this was voiced to the waitress, she just smiled and had nothing to say. Spend your money elsewhere, the staff here seems miserable and does not care.

Went here to celebrate with my SO. The serving staff were very accommodating but the food was pretty slow coming out, which I can understand because it was during the dinner rush. We got the all you can eat option, and was very VERY dissatisfied with the quality of the sushi. The meat was very poor, and for the price we paid, this is unacceptable. Very dishonest place. I was overcharged there. I ordered sashimi online and instead of $3 tip, they took $33. I called them and asked them to correct it. They promised to correct it but they never did.

This place is so rude. I called to place an order today. The lady says hold please because the other line is ringing. She procedes to take the other callers order. I wasnt annoyed at that point. Then as she was about to take my order the other line rings. She picks up and takes their order. All together she took 4 phone calls before finally asking what I wanted. I asked why she did that. She said what I didnt do anything and that she didnt take any orders. I calld her a liar. Told her the totals of the last 4 orders. I just hung up. This is not the 1st time this happened .

Got order wrong ordered 2 miso soups only got one. The worst pad thai I have every had in my life. Tasted like bell peppers and noodles. The amount of green bell peppers and red onion in the pad thai was unbelievable. The general tso chicken was horrible. Very soggy and barely any taste. Will never eat here again

Id take away this star but , the review will not post . A Saturday evening out was nice & I at first loved my dish.. 𝐁𝐔𝐓 ....... In the middle of the night around 4am , I woke up violently ill. The spicy mango shrimp ended up giving me food poisoning.and my S/O didn’t become sick , as we shared sushi & sashimi . I knew it was the shrimp, since all I had eaten that day was dinner . I Probably should have gone to hospital, and also called restaurant to complain, but usually without hospital proof, a restaurant won’t accept responsibility or accountability to serving tainted seafood. So , here it is Monday and still sick. all I can do is write this review and hope they will be more mindful & wiser to check the freshness of their food .

I will never order from here or eat at this establishment again. The customer service (or lack there of) is horrendous. The sushi and other items we ordered did not taste fresh at all. We were so disappointed so I figured I’d call to let them know. The person who picked up the phone said “umm” and then put the phone down without saying “hold on” or letting me know they were getting another employee. I then spoke to someone else who obviously couldn’t care less and told me she didn’t understand how my sushi could taste bad if it was cooked. She then lied about the “boss” not being there because one minute she said he wasn’t present and the next minute she magically spoke to him??? She offered a credit (for one item…how generous) next time but I said I would never return, obviously. Yuck. Spend your money elsewhere!

We ended up paying for appetizers & left ….sorry, BUT Nothing like the Hewlett location. The manager tried to blame it on US…. Saying, “oooh YOU in a rush!” Not the case at all…. just never got our food Sir!

literally disgusted at this place ,2-3 times I ordered there was legit hair in my sushi! The spicy tuna does not taste fresh at all! When I called they were not helpful at all on the phone ,such utter disgusting food as well as service .
