The food was great. I came in town and wanted to take my mother to a nice place to eat on Christmas. There were not many places open., Konami. I've been wanting to check this place out the pass couple of times I've traveled to Liberty Center. The food was yummy yummy. My mother loved her steak burger. The meatballs I rate them a yum-yum you have to try them perfect balance of sweet. I had the Picasso Roll and oh my I love the heat and tasty flavor 😋.
Service from Jenna made us feel right at home. It was our first time. Not only was service top notch the food was outstanding! I had the ribeye and sweet chili green beans and my date had the stir fry. Avocado egg rolls as an appetizer!! All 11/10.
This place is a vibe. It’s really got an upscale feel to it but still so casual. The decor makes you feel like you’re in the tropics somewhere. The menu is kinda all over the place but the wagyu steak fried rice is what you must order. It’s so good. The best thing on the menu! There’s so much steak and the motoyaki sauce adds just the right amount of tang to it. And the desserts were decent. I recommend the brownie. The butter cake was kinda gross. I could eat at this restaurant every single day. It’s pricey, but worth it and the service is top notch! I’m definitely coming back.
Good food, good vibe and good service. 1. Food is good, decent menu and interesting and delicious. - Spicy tuna roll - good one - dragon roll - best one - sweet chili salmon - worth dying for.. honestly, it’s sweet but is flavorful and best. - Lemoj garlic penne with shrimp - absolutely the best one. Another worth dying for. Seriously flavorful. - chicken satay - really good like it’s an underdog. Chicken itself taste good. - angry edamame - spicy, flavorful and absolutely good with drinks 2. We always like sushi here. Their specialty sushi rolls are good. I always have like dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. 3. Little bit expensive but good vibe. They have like indoor and outdoor space. 4. Service is really good.
We had a wonderful gals-gathering to celebrate a birthday and have a great meal. Kona Grill never disappoints. The server, Avery, was very attentive and the food was above-par delicious! Kona Grill is one of my favorite eateries at the Liberty Center.
The service was so good! Nice rooftop m, date night vibe. Food and drinks were delicious! They definitely make the drinks strong! Update: we came back for seconds lol!! I got the pad Thai and my babe got the stir fry! Soooo good 10/10!
Jenna was the absolute best server i've ever had. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She deserves a raise. The butter cake and ribeye with island sauce were phenomenal. I wish the lighting was a little better but we were in the outdoor area. Definitely recommend!
Camdyn was exceptional and attentive. Her kind approach and personable attitude was refreshing and top notch ;). The drinks came out perfect and the food was hot, no complaints and will be back soon to request her for our dining experience. Thanks Cam!
Alejandro was so attentive, and so was the waitress, Heather, that accompanied him. The service was awesome, and I was really glad I got to spend my birthday here. The food was amazing, they just happened to run out of the thing I originally ordered.
Our server Zach was very professional and personable, made our first time experience comfortable and wonderful! The host accommodated us with a quite table according to our reservation request, and the food was very good! Overall my wife and I had an awesome date night experience! We for sure will return and recommend to others! God Bless! Phillip & Shaunda Nohrer
Great food and service. The sea bass was delicious and paired well with the bok choy.

Enjoyed the atmosphere during lunch. It’s a fancy place but has a nice lunch course option for those who want to be in and out in an hour. The manager walked through and made sure we were taken of and the server was great! Can’t wait to go back for dinner date
We sat at the rooftop and Kafa was our server it was a very pleasant experience. She was knowledgeable and kind with our party of 10, we will be back!
Avery was an amazing hostess and made me feel extremely comfortable with my first-time experience! Will definitely be coming back!
Jenna was our server, and she was absolutely phenomenal. Despite the busy happy hour crowd, she remained calm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. We’ll definitely be returning and hope to have Jenna as our server again!
Went last night and the server/bartender was really nice as was all of the staff. We had Pad Thai and lots of drinks. 🍷 Was a really fun time for my wife and I. The portion sizes are great. The prices are a little high but honestly worth it. At least to us and I feel if you have a chance to stop by you should. I wish I had gotten her name last night we were there around 7 ish..She even gave us directions was super nice. So was the other bartender she was working with. Again though everyone was wonderful as was the food.
We had an amazing experience and the food was excellent - very fresh and filled with flavor!!! The waiter Sid was awesome, very professional and detailed with all questions and gave honest opinion to help us with selections that were fit for us-Food was so so goood! We had Dumplings for appetizers and chili sauce salmon that was above and beyond good blacked well done with the Turmeric rice mixed with a fried rice with a side of the best tasting Brussels sprouts and we added shrimp to our rice that took the meal to another level of excitement. Oh, the manger - Katelyn was also so friendly and welcoming at our table! I was very pleased with my visit from Houston. Open a location in Houston to see more reviews like this! You got this!!
We came in for a quick bite and a wine down that turned out great. Our waiter Angel was very attentive, gave us enough time to decide on what we wanted as well as just ensuring we were satisfied overall. I ordered a mock-tail (watermelon margarita + Kona stir fry *Vg) The sushi seemed a little pricey but that could be because of the type of tuna. Overall, food and drinks were good.
My family really enjoyed our dinner here! The food was fresh and tasted great. Our server was HK and she provided wonderful service. She was very kind and attentive!
Camdyn was our server tonight. She is awesome, attentive and friendly. Even suggested new cocktails to try for a future visit. Will definitely ask for her by name next time!
Atmosphere was chill, warm enough on the enclosed patio to be comfortable despite a rainy chill. Sidem was our server and was the absolute best. Great friendly attitude and checked in frequently enough to make sure we were perfectly taken care of but not too much to interfere with our experience. Mashed potatoes were a little dry but the Asian salad, chicken, sushi, and vegetables were on point.
Did a do over here last night and it was great! The appetizers were awesome! I could have made a meal out of those. My Husband got the Seabass and it was really good, I plan to go back and get that myself. I and my friends got the surf and turf, my steak cut like butter, and it was seasoned well. We ended our meal with Carrot cake. That slice was sooo huge 4 of us had one slice that we split and still had some to take home! Did I say how good it was! It was Delicious 😋 ! The service was great
Madison was great. Super nice and friendly. Very patient and explained any questions we had. Good was amazing and very delicious. Perfect for a date night
Jenna was such a sweetheart. She was so attentive & accommodating to all of our feedback. We had a great time and plan to come back and see her soon!
Love the atmosphere. Food and service were good and so were the drinks. Edit: We visited again tonight to celebrate our 2nd year wedding anniversary and everything was great as it was the last time we were here. Our server, Chloe was awesome! She was super polite and very attentive and I appreciate that so much.
Loved it! Avery was kind enough to recommend the best options, especially since I could only have chicken. Honestly, I enjoyed it and believe this is the most delicious chicken I've ever had.
Visiting Cincinnati on business and this became a quick favorite. The server was new; Sid, but she did an amazing job (both times) running the entire dining room by herself. The food was outstanding! I highly recommend the Sea Bass sliders and the ribeye meatballs. Great atmosphere and service.
We always have such a great experience when we come here. The service is always wonderful, food is delicious and the drinks never miss! We usually come for date night, kid free but I recently brought my son (6) fir the first time and our waitress was so kind and patient with him, it’s my son’s new favorite place too, he said he felt fancy!
Sarah was top notch! She went above and beyond with her customer service. The food was excellent, the lemonade cocktail that was suggested was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. Thanks for a great dinner and AMAZING dessert :) Thanks Sarah
Great spot for a date, came in with my fiancé for Valentine’s Day it was an amazing atmosphere. But the best part of our meal was our server Avery she was very nice and attentive. She even helped me decide on our meal. 8/10 meal 10/10 service !
I was blown away!!!! We haven't been here since we said "I Do" 6/15/21.... I ordered the meat balls then and I didn't get a chance to enjoy them but I NEVER forgot about them . They were better than I remembered. Ms. Bri was our server and from start to finish we felt like she was apart of our fun night out. She was so patient, and gave us REALLY good suggestions. We were not disappointed. The plates and servings were done so eloquently and the food was hot. I feel like I was in a 10 star restaurant in Vegas. I give a major Bow to the Chief. You were the bomb.com.net.org....... I can't wait to bring my sister's here! I'm definitely asking for Bri. Girl you BETTER be here!!!. . And that chief!
My first time at Kona Grill, ever.. I must say I enjoyed the atmosphere from the moment I walked into the door. Monday Happy Hour & OF COURSE I took full advantage!! I wanted sushi and sushi was delivered.. Waitress name was Tammy.. an absolute BEAST!! Explained the menu thoroughly to me.. and was patient with my brief indecisiveness.. I loved the personality and punctuality Tammy displayed to my booth.. I certainly will be back, all thanks to Tammy..
Came for restaurant week! Server was great, service was great and the food was amazing. I got the meatball appetizer, prime rib and cheesecake. All was amazing and the price for it all was a great value (it was on special for restaurant week). This was my first time at Kona and I am beyond pleased and can’t wait to come back!
Just had lunch today at 12:30; the place was empty! Two other tables and 2 ppl at the bar….sad really. The food was excellent and our server was great; might want to consider lowering your prices a bit..$22 for sliders? I’d lower the prices a bit and go for volume might just level it up
This restaurant is absolutely stunning and gorgeous!!! My first impression as I walked in the door I was blown away, the wall of water fountain at the hostess stand, looking down the dining there is an aquarium a fireplace in the wall. I could go on and on. Service was number one on the entire staff. The food was presented in beautiful manner, everything was wonderful except appetizer it did not look pleasant, was not at temperature and over done, it did smell amazing not worth the cost. From there everything was fabulous, well presented, to temperature, and very flavorful. Will return, my new favorite restaurant!
Avery was great! We learned she shared our birthday month :) it’s a little loud inside but we were able to get in quickly on a Saturday night so it was a success!
Came here for a surprise Thursday date night after the first place we went looked like it was getting ready to close. We had a fun time with the happy hour food menu!.The waitress and staff were very nice even though we came in a little late. The sliders weren't too greasy, but still delicious and the sushi rolls were yummy! The tacos were delicious as well, and we might come back for a happy hour when the sun is still in the sky!
This place is awesome! HK was such an amazing server I have never had an awesome server she explained the menu perfectly and answered any questions we had. The presentation was awesome, the atmosphere is awesome! The manager Eric came over and checked on us multiple times and you could tell he really wanted our experience here to be tremendous. I would recommend this place to everyone!
This place was amazing. HK was incredibly nice and asked immediately when we were ready to order if anyone has any allergies or dietary restrictions and followed up later to make sure nobody had any allergic reactions. She was incredibly friendly and professional and we would definitely come back again.
Ben was an excellent server! My husband and I came in to enjoy an evening together on our anniversary and he provided us with a pleasant experience and wonderful food recommendations! The atmosphere was great as well. Wonderful staff through and through! Thank you!!
Avery was the best server ever. Her energy made the whole experience 100x more enjoyable. Her recommendation of the Sunset Roll was on point, hands down my favorite roll of all time.
When we first walked into the restaurant we saw all of the Halloween decorations throughout the establishment. Kaitlin sat us when our party arrived and she was very pleasant and quick. Dhalia was our waitress and she was absolutely fabulous! She is patient and has impeccable speech. She was attentive to the needs of everyone in our party and a true joy to interact with. I always want to sit in her section. Dhalia if you are reading this, you are a ray of sunshine. Your kindness, warmth and customer service made dining in at Kona Grill worth it! Thank you for being a beautiful person inside and out.
I should have made this review much earlier. I would like to sincerely thank Ben and the entire staff for always being kind, patient and offering great customer service. We have had the pleasure of getting Ben as our server a couple of time. His great smile and nice calm character always cheer me up. The food and service is always great even when we walk in during late hours. The happy hours are also greatly priced and delicious. I highly recommend the small tacos, burger and, flatbread. The staff are also very diverse and they treat all races with respect. My family often eat here. I also highly recommend the rooftop, call in advance to see when the rooftop is open. Overall excellent service and environment for family, couples, teens or if you are riding solo. Please don’t forget to tip the server(s) if you can, they work continuously hard even when tired.
The food was top notch!l Our waiter, Braxton, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated his menu recommendations and will definitely be back.
Madison was a great waitress. She was super helpful with the menu for our first time at Kona Grill and made sure our food was great! Will definitely visit again.
Avery was amazing!! She was very thorough when explaining the specials and new items on the menu and just had an all around fabulous attitude. Best server we have had in a very long time!
Kacey was an excellent server at Kona Grill. He was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Great service that really stood out.
Madison was our server tonight, and can say it was the best dinner experience we’ve had in a while. Super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu, made great suggestions for new comers! 10/10 would recommend
Everything about this experience was a 10/10. My server was Kacey. They were extremely approachable and professional. I got both their food and drink recommendations and was very satisfied. I’m from Cleveland and just traveled here for the weekend and I’m very happy to have experienced this place. In addition to the service, the bathroom was clean and the food was phenomenal, I’d definitely come back.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an amazing experience at Kona Grill! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service truly stood out. Kacey did an awesome job friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Was knowledgeable about the menu, quick with refills, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Because of her, the entire experience was even better. I’ll definitely be back and hope to have Kacey as our server again. Highly recommend!
My husband and I had a date night at Kona Grill. We spent the evening with Jenna and she was so impressive. She took such great care of us. We both had sushi rolls and shared the wagyu steak fried rice. We had the margarita flight, sake flight and a strawberry dream. Everything was delicious! An evening well spent, and with great company at that! Jenna we hope you’re there at our next visit.
Avery was SO ExtREMELY pleasant! I ordered salmon with my penne dinner which had not been listed as an option. Avery assured me that it could be done and would not be a problem. Our order was correct and had been brought to our table without delay. We truly enjoyed our meal!
I had Julie as a waitress, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She recommended great options for me to try and talked me through the menu to help make the right choices. She is so personable and easy to talk to! It was my first time coming to Kona Grill and she made it a wonderful experience. On top of all that, she is very attentive and did a good job of making sure that all of her tables were taken care of. I felt like I was in good hands the whole night! I will definitely be asking for her in the future!
Avery was our server tonight and was fantastic. She was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was super responsive to our needs for my children. I needed a dairy free option for dinner; Avery knew what would could be prepared appropriately and verified with the kitchen as well.

We had a return visit here after 3 years, and this visit was MUCH better than the last one. We were there early enough for happy hour and their HH is the best one I know of--a Coors Light draft is …
We loved it! Would definitely come back. Our service was wonderful. Mondays are happy hour all day so we got a ton of food for a great price
Olivia did an amazing job serving us! She was so sweet and the drinks came out lightening fast. Great job,Olivia.
Sat at the bar for happy hour and Olivia was our bartender. she did an amazing job! We will be coming back for sure.
Always love coming here and getting my girl Avery. She is an amazing waitress! Always makes me and my night feel special!

Camdyn was my server and she was great! Great service, super friendly and made it a great experience overall!!!!!!!!!!
Our server was great she was very nice! The food took a very long time and it was cold. We will not be sitting in the roof top area again. Seemed like it was not a priority.
We were here tonight to celebrate a birthday and Kacey was a great server. Attentive without being overbearing. We had the big island ribeye steak which was just ok but the happy hour items were good for the price.
Wagyu steak fried rice was very good, green beans were cooked perfectly. Server, Ashley, was very attentive & did a great job. Little cold in the plastic covered room but sat next to a gas fireplace to be warmer.
I use to frequent the Kona at Easton about once a week, it was my go to for lunch, then it closed and I was so sad. I was recently in Cincinnati and googling lunch restaurants and was so happy to see a Kona listed, plus we would arrive just in time for Happy Hour. When we arrived the restaurant was empty, I mean really empty, nearly every table was vacant but for some reason they chose to conduct an interview two tables away from us. I just thought that was odd. That being said, it is a beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive but not annoying. The Bama roll was perfect, beautiful tight roll, great flavor, and fresh. The ribeye meatballs were moist and delicious, served on top a little dollop of mashed potatoes, they were probably our favorite thing. The pot stickers had an over powering flavor of onion, it was off putting. The macadamia nut popcorn chicken was cooked perfectly but the accompanying sauce was bland. The avacado roll was ok, but the sauce was different than I remember. Let's talk about the sliders, these were a disappointment, but to be fair I really miss the old sliders that had house made pickles and came with fries, those pickles were awesome. These sliders were dry, very dry, kinda sad little things. We will return, because we didn't have room for carrot cake. Kona has a great menu, a trendy decor. I think you will be over all satisfied with your dinning experience there.
Great vibe, amazing service. The meatball appetizer was phenomenal. Unfortunately the ribeye came out extremely raw, when it should have been medium rare. Everything else was great.

Kona has a great atmosphere. Loved having time with friends with some yummy sushi. Camdyn did a great job.
Amazing aesthetics and great vibes but wait till we get to the food and pricing! We ordered Vegetarian lemon penne which was for $27!! We would’ve appreciated if they increased the quantity and quality as the quantity was very less as seen in the picture and the quality was good not great! This is an absolute joke!!! The vegetarian rolls were $19 for only 6 pieces!!! I am very disappointed as we thought that they’d match with the pricing but the quality is not so great and quantity is very less. Cocktail was $16 for a basic watermelon margarita. I would’ve spoken to the manager but didn’t want to ruin the evening with my husband. It’s like they are charging for the great aesthetics of the restaurant and that’s it. They better reduce their price or increase the quantity. Not happy but was okay to spend an evening. Not going back though!

Great sushi. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Sit in the bar or on second floor. Seating near the front door is drafty and noisy. Went back 2 more times in the last year bc we like their menu. Both times it took an hour to get the food. First time we never got our food but someone else's. Second time we had the Avocado Egg Rolls which were phenomenal. Also had Chicken Lettuce Wraps which were mostly diced carrots in a brown sauce. Also had the Pad Thai with Chicken and it was very plain, plus I had to hunt for the chicken. Sadly no desire to return.
We visited Liberty Center for my son's 15th Birthday today and decided to try out Kona Grill which we heard so much about. We arrived around 12:45 pm today and had a 15-20 minute wait. Restaurant was not busy but they were very understaffed which you could tell by looking around and seeing only a few waitresses serving tables. We were finally seated in the time they told us. Menu is OK but many of the rolls are over priced. California rolls are $6 at most sushi places we visit...they wanted $10. Anyhow, in the order of pics below, my son ordered Surf & Turf. He chose ribeye and Sunset as his specialty roll along with garlic fingerling potatoes. He loved it! I ordered same thing but with a Filet, whipped miso potatoes, Las Vegas roll and subbed green beans for Brussel sprouts. It came out with green beans, whipped potatoes were cold and hard and my toll had a fishy taste to it which means the fish is getting old if it has a fishy taste. Hope not to get sick tomorrow. I ate the beans because I didn't want to wait for replacement sprouts. I did send the whipped potatoes back because they were cold and hard, and they replaced with the fingerlings...very good! Filet was cooked rare and was good but the lobster butter never melted. I had to take my fork and rub the butter all my Filet. At this point not impressed. My mother ordered the sweet-chili glazed salmon. She said it was fabulous! She also ordered a side salad. Couldn't finish it all so we brought over half her meal home. I tried it and was better than my surf & turf. Finally, my wife had the lemon garlic penne with chicken added. She thought it was really good but I tasted and told her she could've got better at an Italian restaurant for half the price. Overall, I was not impressed with Kona Grill. Maybe it's the times. Our bill was $216 with no alcohol. I do have twin girls who ordered kids meals, but not sure what they cost. My wife thought it was reasonable for six of us and the food we ordered. I may head back to try it again but until then I'll stay with my local sushi all time favorite in Centerville called Kabuki.
Mixed experience tonight. Didn't mind selecting the fish & chips entree at $34, but was expecting a nice meal - was served a single piece of cod, smashed so thin it resembled veal parm. Flavorless breading and a simple side of fries. I could have had the same meal at any local tavern for half price. Partner ordered the Chilean sea bass, which was very good, but was served with sauteed bak choy that had way too much liquid with it so the fish ended up sitt in a pool of liquid. I ordered a cocktail and was served one of the more disappointing old fashioned I've had in quite a while. Was hoping for a nice dinner experience. The atmosphere and service we're up to the expectations, but the food missed the mark by a bit.
Summertime sunset at the rooftop bar of Kona Grill. Excellent sushi and cold beer. Service can be hit or miss depending on how understaffed they are. Went back on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. We had to leave after 30 minutes of waiting to place our order. Not the bartender's fault. One bartender for the entire restaurant. Saw a manager in the background playing on his phone while this bartender hustled as fast as she could. Manager could have helped. She really needed it.
The biggest issue on our recent trip on 12-23-25 was ordering the Sea Bass fish and chips, getting it delivered to our table without tartar sauce then being told after the fact that they ran out. They should not be serving dishes where a key component is not available or at the very least they should tell the customer about it before the food arrives or at ordering. Other than that, the food was good.
Food was just alright. Felt like everything was under seasoned. My French dip felt like the meat did not have seasoning, and the chips that came with it definitely had no salt on them making them just taste like a potato
We went for Sunday brunch at 10am. We were the only customers there for probably a half hour. We ordered a burger and daybreak sandwich. I specifically asked about the bun on the burger, if it was soft and not too think/bready. I was told that it was soft and not bready, but that was not the case. There was a lot of bread and it wasn’t soft. I ordered it medium and it came out more medium-well, but the flavor was still good. The fries were good, and so was the daybreak sandwich. The peach mimosa was good, but we had to wait a while for a glass of wine with hardly any customers in the restaurant. Overall it was pretty good but overpriced and a little slow. I would give 3.5 stars if half stars were possible.
Great ambience, amazing place and surroundings. We went on a Friday evening, and it was moderately busy, but the service was too slow. We ordered a Coke, which was flat and lacked carbonation. Upon checking, the server said they had run out of Coke — then why serve that black sweet water? Well, they replaced it with Sprite, which was slightly better, we could drink couple of sips. The food was served too late. The food was ok I would say just go to this place for a special occasion to enjoy the experience and atmosphere. For real food and service, there are hundreds of places around.
This is okay food wise. If going for sushi, be warned. Some of the sashimi we got was old. You could tell by the fishy smell...fresh sashimi doesn't smell! My chicken was over cooked on the chicken sandwich and I had to tear it vs biting it. Pricey for what it really is. The staff is fantastic...however the wait for food is not. We understand sushi rolls take time...not to worry. But a chicken sandwich and two kids meals taking over 20 mins? Nah! Not good.
The food is average but overpriced, but the service is good. The area is very busy, and there are better places for your money.

We went here on the weekend, Saturday to be specific so granted they are busy. We walk in around 8-8:15pm and are told we will have to wait an hour. We saw plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but their kitchen was backed up. The hostesses were rude acted like we were a chore to assist when all we did was say we wanted a table. Our friend made a comment about sorry for coming in so late and then the brunette hostess snapped at him saying "We close at 11pm" we wondered why they seemed so bothered about us being there if they closed in 3 hours . After 45 minutes our friend put in a reservation online for 9pm to see if that would help us gain a table. A girl with highlights called over a short blonde server and very clearly and loudly said "do you want to take this table? You don't have to if you don't want to." And pointed at us I thought that was super rude and made us feel like they didnt want us there. The first hostess got very upset seeing we put in a reservation. A blonde hostess sat us outside even though we said we prefer inside they claimed we would have to wait longer then maybe another half hour. I still have bugbites and the seats were uncomfortable. They sat us next to a play area where kids were screaming and the music of the restaurant and kids bop dj were clashing. We ordered everything at once because we just wanted to get the hell out of there. They put bacon in my friends food he doesn't eat pork and told the server this so that had to be fixed. Our other friend didn't get his food until our dessert came out even though he and my husband both ordered the same thing. This place is mediocre food for way way too much. Their sides (Bok choy, brussel sprouts and rice ) were nasty. The bok choy was like rubber and the brussle sprouts just tasted like they were brined in soy and vinegar. They gave us a puny slice of frozen tasting pumpkin pie that cost $17. (Think Frisch's but dry) We had 5 of us and 2 of us was a $200 check with tip. The ONLY reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because the fish and sushi was good and the server wasn't THAT rude but he seemed passive aggressive. The chicken was dry and tasteless rice was hard and nasty. Just don't waste your time money or efforts at this place. I would have talked to the manager but he was occupied with another table who also had complaints about their experience. We will never give this place our service again.

Kona wasn't our first choice for dinner however we rolled the dice and ended up here. The outside seating was very nice and wasn't too crowded and fans made the heat very bearable. We started off with the avocado egg rolls which were the hit of the night with the honey cilantro sauce. We were worried that the cilantro would be too much but it wasn't. You get 4 halves so for the money seemed a bit high but they were good. Mrs. got a Pinaarita cocktail but was all pineapple juice and returned it and then got the Watermelon margarita which really wasn't much better in her opinion. Followed up with splitting the Sweet and Bleu salad which was ok but I think Id prefer it with the not so grilled apples and dressing on the side since it came with it on it and was pretty soggy.Took 3 requests to get black pepper for the salad and for not being too busy was a strike against the waitress. Had good flavor just soggy. Then we ended up splitting the Kona Stir Fry and subbed out chicken for the shrimp for an up charge? This was basically cole slaw with 3 pieces of broccoli, no bell peppers in a bland chili sauce and maybe 6 or 7 shrimp. Oh and the $3 charge for the angry butter sauce was another unpleasant surprise. I'm sure there's other things on the recipe that we would like but dropping that much money on a sub-par dinner isn't something that I'd want to go again for. All in all I'd pass on Kona Grill again.
I’ve been to Kona at Liberty Center numerous times over the years and for the most part have enjoyed a decent experience. Last night’s visit was pretty disappointing for me because my salmon was overcooked. That wasn’t the worst part, however. My attention to my friends and my meal was distracted by the giant TV which was tuned to Newsmax, and airing divisive political content. I’m not making any partisan statements here but we are in the middle of the Winter Olympic Games and one month away from March Madness. Come on Kona! Give us a break from this nonsense so we can enjoy a meal without being reminded of the divide in America!
I’ve eaten at Kona Grill twice now. The first time I got a to-go order of pad thai and california rolls. The pad thai was colorful and beautiful but tasted bland, and the California rolls were good. I waited over a year to try again, this time dining in. We were seated on the patio which had flies all over the place that we were constantly swatting away. We had a wobbly table that spilled our drinks and an inattentive server who commented on how fast we ate our appetizers loudly enough for the entire patio to hear after taking over 40 minutes to serve us, which was annoying and rude. The entire experience was obnoxious, service was horrible and the food was mid. I will not be back.
The smell of sewage hit me like a truck when we walked in. I thought it was something that would go away or that I'd eventually go nose blind to - I didn't. The young lady that served us was really sweet but it was hard to focus on anything outside of the smell assaulting my sinuses the whole time. Took a few bites of my entree and couldn't take it anymore. Paid the bill then left. What's crazy is I have been here once before and I recall it having a smell then....2 years ago. To have the same problem for two years is mind boggling. Until they fix whatever sewage problem they've got going on, you won't catch me within 300 feet of the entrance.

Wife and I got the ribeye steak, there was gristle in it and was quite thin for a ribeye. Although cooked just right could have been better. The fingerling potatos were bland. The plates the meal was served on was so light that when you tried to cut the steak you were chasing the plate across the table. My wife and I had two totally different types of steak knives. The staff in the kitchen was way to loud. When you go to a restaurant with these kind of prices you expect things to be a bit on the up scale side. Quality to cost ratio was just not there.

Our first impression of the restaurant was good. We were greeted and seated right away, which we appreciated. However, after we sat down, we noticed the table was dirty and wobbling, which made it uncomfortable and created a real risk of spilling our drinks. When the steaks arrived, the steak knives were brought later and they were greasy and dirty. We also ordered a salad, which honestly was not very good — mostly just leaves and half of a boiled egg. On top of that, we even found a produce sticker in the salad (see photo attached). The server himself was polite and attentive, but overall the experience was disappointing and I did not really enjoy the visit
We went to Kona Grill for Veterans Day. We were grateful to them for offering such a generous menu to veterans. This did not make up for the utter inability for them to properly cook a steak, make good timing for delivery and then to "fix" it they served me this blued steak twice after warming it up. It was atrocious. My wife's meal tasted of lemon, nothing else just lemon. Our appitiser was almost not cooked all the way. The Satay was delicious. If we had to pay for this meal it would have cost $118. I am so happy it was mostly free, we will not be going back

I have heard a lot of good things about Kona Grill, so my husband and I decided to try it out. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype and we don't expect to return. Our evening started out well and went quickly downhill. We had a reservation and were greeted upon arrival then seated very quickly. Initially we were going to be placed at a table right next to the entrance. The hostess was quite accommodating and moved us into the patio area along the windows where we requested. The ambiance was very nice, but the service was horrible. I ordered the margarita flight, when they arrived the server just placed the board on the table and did not indicate which glass was which, at a minimum the board they are served on should be marked with the flavors. Our dinner orders were taken quickly, unfortunately our server did not check in with us for at least half an hour. My husband needed a refill on his beer, we watched our waiter come and help the table cattycorner to us with their payment kiosk six times without turning his head to look in our direction despite the fact that we were waving and calling his name. I asked another server to please send him to our table, when he still did not arrive my husband got up and chased him down to ask for a refill. He had given up and was at the bar ordering when someone finally brought his drink to our table. The lady at the table next to us also had to resort to getting her wine at the bar. When the food arrived, I was surprised by the small portion size. I ordered the $31 steak frites, I have seen kid’s meals with larger servings (picture)! I was thankful that I ordered a side salad until I saw the bill, it was $15, an entree salad costs $18. Only the entree sizes are listed on the limited menu, when asked about the availability of a side salad our server never mentioned the cost, or I would have passed. The food quality was average and not worthy of the high prices, for the amount being charged you would expect great taste and better quantity. There are several restaurants in the area with much better food for the cost, Cooper's Hawk and Texas Roadhouse to name a few.
They changed the recipe on the Kona stir fry with chicken and it was so bad I immediately sent it back. I gave a five star review in June, see photo, about how great it was and tonight it was absolutely un edible. Why did you change such a delicious staple dish. Prices are borderline outrageous here but I loved the stir fry so much. I would pay it. Not anymore. Such a disappointment.
Went to the bar to get my wife a to-go drink. The blonde, female bartender said, "you're gonna have to give me a minute" in a not so friendly way. Took her about 15 minutes to come back. Was very rude again. Cake back with the drink without saying a word, took my cash and tossed my change on the counter without a word. Not sure what her problem was, but she was extremely rude for absolutely no reason.
What a HORRIBLE experience. My family of 8 came here for Mother’s Day. The restaurant was absolutely filthy! Food all over the floors and under the table, paper all over the floor, restrooms were disgusting. We waited over an hour for our food and when it arrived, everything was over cooked, lukewarm and had no taste. We had no silverware, no napkins, no salt and pepper and had to ask our server numerous times for these items. We sent back a steak that was charred and waited an additional 40 minutes before telling the manager we were leaving without our daughter eating. Over priced and terrible quality, terrible service and overall terrible restaurant. It was so loud we had to scream to speak to each other. Avoid Kona Grill at Liberty until they change management!
Terrible takeout experience on Christmas Day. We ordered online for a 4:09 PM pickup. When we arrived, the host couldn’t initially find our order and provided no updates while other customers were served first. When the food finally came out, it was handed to us abruptly with no apology. Once home, we found our Brussels sprouts were missing despite being charged, and the food we did receive was cold. We spent over $100, and the lack of care and accountability was unacceptable. Side note: The customer service email listed on the website does not work, leaving no clear way to resolve this directly. If this is how Kona Grill handles holiday orders, we won’t be returning.
A party of 3. We arrived and sat at 6:45. Our server came within 10 minutes. We placed a cocktail and appetizer order. That’s it. We were left unattended to by Julie for an hour. She did not touchback with my table, while several team members attempted to bring us food from other tables. I had to approach her to be cashed out, out of fear she would not return - like she did after we placed our drink orders. Nearby tables walked to the bar to order and retrieve their own drinks. Upon leaving, I asked for the manager - in hopes it would get her additional support, the hostesses could not locate them. I will not be returning. Nice rooftop view though.
