We tried this place the first time and it's pure 10 out of 10 experience. Choices amazing and Joyce, she is one of the few waiters I have seen that really cares for their customers. I have experienced food in 74 countries so far but you need to try the sandwiches. I took a breath of fresh air. You need to mark this coffee open Google maps.

Such a cozy cafe and such a breather in comparison to the endless Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts that overfill Miami and other sterile and gentrifying-minimal-performative-esk coffee shops. 😂Interior is amazingly curated, which so many seating options indoors and outdoors & also more of a communal spot at the entrance with a couch! I got their cafe con leche and a guayaba and queso pastelito and it was soooo amazing!! The coffee was so delish. Staff was also so nice and welcoming. :)

Hands down one of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. All the ingredients are proportionately layered with the soft Cuban bread, toasted with a nice crisp with each bite. They don’t skimp on the meat. Staff is absolutely fantastic, providing great service and very welcoming. I’ve recommended this place to several foodie friends who are excited to check it out. Also - iced cafe con leche well made with perfect ratio of espresso and milk. Looking forward to our next visit!

This review is for the pop up restaurant that is in this location in the evenings. The service was top notch! Friendly, informative, professional and efficient. The food was Michelin star quality! Everything was incredible. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had! Everything is locally sourced (as much as possible). We ordered a glass of wine and a local beer. For appetizers we ordered the Almaco Jack Crudo. It was amazing! They use a hot coal to rub on the edges of the fish that gives it a Smokey flavor. Absolutely incredible! We also ordered the Canaveral White Shrimp Chawanmushi. It’s several layers! The shrimp was amazing! The egg custard at the bottom was a bit too salty for my taste, but my son thought it was perfect. Finally, we ordered the Grilled Sebastian Oysters. I’m not a big oyster fan, but I could eat these everyday! Grilled with a brown butter chimichurri sauce and ramp purée and fried hazelnuts- this was perfection. Set in the shells, on a rock and shell bed, the presentation was beautiful. For dinner we ordered the smoked swordfish. I like swordfish, but it’s not my favorite because it’s not as soft as most fish. Not in this case. This was the softest, most flavorful swordfish I’ve ever had! They slow cook it for about 30-40 minutes. It goes on a low flame the minute we put our order in and slowly cooks the entire time we’re enjoying our appetizers and drinks. Set atop moujean tea turnips, caramelized baby fennel, and wilted spinach, this dish will never disappoint even the toughest critics. Our bill was not that bad either. There is a 20% service charge, but this does not all go to your server! It’s split 4 ways, so your server is only getting a 5% tip. Please tip your server cash on top of the service charge. I would love to return and try the spiny lobster. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner!

As soon as I walked in I felt the good vibes! Service was great. Inside is cute, with books and decor. Reminds me of somewhere you would meet up with your friends, drink & eat and not realize where the time went, there is no wifi and I guess that is why. I also knew i absolutely needed to try some of their pasties. I decided on a chicken empanada and beef pastelito. Soo good! Both stuffed with the right amount of meat. Chicken was seasoned and not dry. My iced cafe con leche was superb. So picky with it but it was strong and also rich and sweet. I was pleasantly surprised. Side note: as I was there a man came in I guess asking people for money/food. He sat down and took out a couple of prescription medications talking about how he had just left Jackson hospital and has a severe heart failure. The manager was so polite asking him to please put away his medications and even offered this man some pastries. The man then decided to cause a scene by standing up and screaming in the middle of the restaurant that he had a heart failure and all he was being offered was pastries. How entitled must you feel to not only turn down the pastries but cause a scene about it. I felt bad bc the manager seemed uncomfortable for the customers but he did no wrong. And with all that being said the manager still showed kindness and asked the man if he needed any assistance with picking something else off the menu

I've heard about this cafe from several foodie friends of mine. So, I trucked on down to Miami Shores on this beautiful Tuesday morning at about 10:45am. Plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Quick, pleasant service. Nice, low-keyed artsy decor! I ordered a large cafe con Leche, their Special breakfast sandwich, the C. E. C. & a croqueton sandwich! That breakfast sandwich was loaded with scrambled eggs, meat, cheese & spinach croquetes! Delicious 😋 The Croqueton sandwich is the dope! An upscale take on the 100's of Cuban sandwiches in South Florida! Totally juicy, huge & satisfying! I took one half of each home for a mid-day snack! Small Menu, priced right, open kitchen, very friendly, accompanying staff!

My husband and I love this place! I wish it was closer to North Fort Lauderdale because we would go weekly, if we could. The service is lovely and the food is delicious! Wow! Love the energy, decor, super friendly staff and community of this place. The food was the BEST cafe food I have ever had! No substitutions on their sandwiches had me feeling a way at first, but the server explained they are perfect as is and she was so right! We had the Game 7 and the Bori and everything was super fresh and delicious. The coffee and hot chocolate were sublime! This is my new home cafe!

Adorable eatery with an absolutely delicious sandwich and empanada menu. Come on a Friday and get the Rafa Burger—delicious, juicy with the sweetest carmelized onions and machengo cheese!! Excellent coffee drinks as well. Servers are friendly and efficient. Best lunch spot around!

One of my favorite places in Miami Shores! Tinta has amazing sandwiches and the best tequenos in town. They have a strict no laptop policy in an attempt to encourage human connection. It’s definitely a neighborhood hotspot and a great place to bump into friends and family to reconnect!

We were well taken care of. Best service I’ve received in Miami all around. The host, server, and manager all had a loving vibe. The guava Pastelitos were amazing and fresh. They run out fast. My girlfriend loved her Tinta Y Cafe sandwich and I loved my Croqueton. My only wish is that they were bigger sandwiches. Wasn’t a fan of the passion fruit mango juice but that’s okay! Just wasn’t for me and a little small for $5. Seating was crazy there were many people waiting to be seated with very little room to sit. It was a bit too hot to sit outside so we waited about 15 minutes for a seat.

Go-to spot for yummy breakfast, great sandwiches, and reliably strong coffee (and I’m picky about that!) We usually order the cod croquetas, pan de bono, Tinta y cafe or Madurito sandwich, and café con leche. LOVE that it’s WiFi-free and you’re encouraged to chat with staff and Miami Shores neighbors.

This cafe serves excellent, authentic Cuban food with a Miami twist. As a native returned home to visit, I was so happily surprised that this place exists now. Furthermore, the environment, the staff and the general feeling you get there is one of true care and nourishment. Highly highly highly recommend. Go early before they run out of pastries!

Really happy that a nice cafe opened in Miami Shores downtown. My wife and I order a cappuccino and a chai late, both well presented and tasty. We will be regulars! The place have a nice ambience and the service was great, even when by mistake I walked out without paying hahahah.

I AM SURE everything on their menu is incredibly delicious, but I am married to El Guajiro sandwich accompanied with a dirty chai oat latte. It is my go- to every time I am there, and it always leaves me feeling amazing and ready to take on the day. I love their no electronics policy and because of this- it is my go- to meet up spot to catch up with friends and family. The service is lovely and rather quick, even when the place begs to you to take your time. I have loved Tinta y Cafe since they were open in Coral Gables and it made me even happier when they opened the Miami Shores location which was in desperate need of real cuban flavors and deliciousness.

The yummiest cubans EVER- La Patria 4ever, lol!! When you have that craving-THESE sandwiches will definitely satisfy! Top off with a side of plantain chips, and an ice cold Materva- and you’re in Cuban Sandwich Heaven!

This was our first time stopping into Tinta We’re new miami shores locals and love the authentic Cuban feel. The café con Leche was out of this world good And complemented the ham croquettes. My boyfriend and I were in a rush so didn't get the chance to dine in. We only got take out. We asked the host for sandwich recs and these recs did not disappoint. We got the caleña, madurita, callejero and a sachi mocha. We can see any of these sandwiches being our favorite - depending on the day. Tinta is a neighborhood gem - crowded with locals, in a harmonious way. We can't wait to come back and try the pastries.

Stopped in on the way to work and I’m so happy I did. I got a spinach empanada and it was by far the best spinach empanada I’ve ever had. Every bite was so flavorful. Usually spinach ones are dry and lack flavor but this was phenomenal. I’ll definitely be back to try more items. If you’re in the area or in coral gables since they have a location there too- definitely stop by to get something. Reasonably priced too!

Been a fan from since there first location in Brickell, been going to the Gables location ever since. Stumbled in to the Miami Shores location, love the vibe full of energy made me feel like I’m Back home. Food and coffe just as fire as always! Back soon!

So soft and delicious Cuban toast. The coffee was excellent and service was excellent. It’s a hidden gem in Miami Shores will continue to come weekly and maybe daily.

Our server was super nice and the food was delicious. I made my own breakfast sandwich, which was great, and the cheese sticks, or whatever they are called, are worth the drive for one with an espresso!

Tinta y Cafe is our go to breakfast place and sometimes lunch. The food is delicious and it is family friendly. They have an assortment of books to keep little people busy and artwork and photos to look at if you're more of an observer type. In our family, there are usually orders for eggs (either sunny side up or scrambled) which comes with bread; empanadas; a sandwich; croquetas; and/or pastries. Everything I've tried has been delicious and their "mini" sandwich is a full-sized sandwich, just not as big as their regular sandwich. The staff is friendly but quirky and definitely not stuffy. They encourage screen-free time and my family has had some great conversations amongst our multiple generations there. If you sit at the big table, be prepared to share if your group doesn't take up the whole table. It gets pretty busy on weekends.

Nice little coffee shop near our Air BnB. I really enjoyed my Con Che Latte and This is the best Cuban sandwhich I've had in Miami! The toast was so delicious!

Just stopped by for lunch and ate the Tinta Y Cafe sandwich (pork, prosciutto, manchego cheese, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions) and the Callejero sandwich (chicken, prosciutto, cantimpalo, manchego cheese, caramelized onions, cilantro mayo). All I have to say is WOW. Everything was extremely tasty and cooked perfectly. The combinations in each of these are just bursting with flavors. Highly recommend this spot!

Great place, free parking. I enjoyed their signature “el Tinta y cafe” sandwich in mini (7”; reg: 12”) and the iced coffee. The caramelized onions goes very well in the sandwich and I’d be back to try the Madurito sandwich soon. Do note that they have a no electronic devices policy. I had intended to spend more time there to work on my iPad but had to leave earlier than expected.

Wow and in my own neighborhood all this time. Tinta y Cafe is an outstanding Cafe. It has outdoor seating, if that's your thing. Indoor seating is very nice. Service and quality of food though is where they steal the show! I had a Cafe con Leche and a breakfast sandwich. So good!

Excellent sandwiches, latin flavors galore. Terrific service, very friendly personnel. Decor was very nicely done with photos, vintage cameras and coffee makers. Quite loud so conversation might be better in their outside dining area. Definitely a go back to place.

One of my favorite authentic Miami gems. The breakfast sandwich with guava jam is so fresh and delicious. You can tell the quality in their products is superb. I also love the overall vibe here - the staff is having fun and happy to be here. They feel like a family. Coffee is also amazing, I buy the beans every other week for at home when I can’t make it up here.

I finally was able to go to Tinta Y Cafe. This place is excellent as all food is made fresh to order. My family also tried the bake goods, and they were excellent. Might be my new favorite place for empanadas. Me and my wife shared the burger and salad! It was great as well as the service. I will be back again to try more of the menu.

Nice place for breakfast with qualitative food, and very nice staff with a cozy ambiance. It deserves 4.5 stars if I could do it, taking down 0.5 star because of the management position about the below matter. Indeed, their policy to refuse any computer usage to their costumers is really puzzling. Even though justified by their desire to cultivate a chill ambiance free of computers dependance to encourage human connection, this is a little off the current world we live in. I also suppose this allows a faster turnaround on tables' availability not to have people staying 1 hour for a coffee while surfing the internet. I would understand the restriction regarding business video calls to avoid disturbing the vibe, but forbidding someone to enjoy their computer's search or to write emails seems a little bit too controlling and not enough welcoming for the crowd who likes to enjoy that way while taking a coffee or a bite outside of their office or home.

The food at Tinta y Café is genuinely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Unfortunately, my experience was soured both times by the same rude and confrontational Brazilian server. Great food isn’t enough when the service makes you feel unwelcome. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Cutest cafe and a new go to spot for miami shores! The breakfast wasn’t as tasty as it looked but everything was well priced and good. Just needs a little extra touches to take it to memorable. The decor however was lovely and comfortable. Loved the theme and the vibe.

Great service, warm atmosphere. Their coffee is delicious. The ham croquetas are freshly fried, crunchy and popping with flavor. We had El Patria and El Tinta y Cafe, Both sandwiches were good with the only critique being they weren't as hot as I'd of liked to have melted the cheeses more. Highly recommend

Came here on a Monday early afternoon with a couple of friends and we were seated outside because it was very busy. I think we might’ve arrived during the rush-hour. I didn’t mind the outside seating. It was very nice actually and very clean with plenty of chairs. I ordered a latte and it was great You can’t really mess it up. However, my friends and I were told that the food was going to take a bit when server came to take our order and we said it was OK because we knew they were kind of busy however we had to wait an unexpected amount of time and our food arrived almost over an hour later. The server was very nice but I also don’t think they were very attentive of our dishes not arriving on time. And the food is OK. It’s made with good ingredients but my sandwich was a bit salty.

I came to this place looking for my new close to home study space coffee shop… it isn’t here. I looked online before going and didn’t get the feeling this was more of a restaurant, the website even says “coffee house” which to me means relaxed, shared seating and also a working environment. Well, I came, and sat at the bar since I planned to order lunch and do work. I ordered a coffee and pulled out my laptop from my backpack, not 30 seconds later an employee came over and told me as a “friendly reminder” that they don’t allow working in the restaurant. I responded “oh..” and he repeated himself and waited next to me for me to put my laptop back away. Ended up skipping lunch and just getting the coffee. After reading more reviews this isn’t the first time this has happened, so I think either some online rebranding or a sign at the restaurant is needed! It felt like they knew from my backpack I would be working and didn’t inform me as I walked in the door but rather waited until after I had ordered.

I want to express my disappointment With the redhead manager (I believe her name is Maria) at the Miami Shores location. I almost felt as if she pressured us to tip and when we didn’t, she asked us why we didn’t tip and if the service was bad . We are short on money and could not afford to tip but we still want to enjoy good food. Overall is a great place to go to with delicious food and great atmosphere but we want there to be an understanding That tipping is not mandatory. It is something that is an additional offering for good service but if we are asked to tip or they insinuate that we need to tip is disrespectful and it makes you feel uncomfortable or Pressured. I don’t wanna shine just a bad light on the food again is great. It’s delicious. The atmosphere is like your grandmother‘s house.

They purposely do not provide any cellular reception here. So be warned coming here with kids or by yourself if you just want to surf the web while drinking coffee. Also we were not given utensils after being served. I got up and told the staff and was told that I should not have stood up. When I said I did not agree, the staff person told me that it was obviously my choice not to return there if I was not happy with the service. Which of course I will not be after that!

We come all the way from key Biscayne because we like the place. We understand that on the weekend it’s busy but today the service was upsetting.. we waited a long time to get our coffee (which was not on point today - usually is), never got our juice until almost paying the Bill and were kind of sitting around waiting for service. Had to take the juice to go and we’re charged for it. You guys are much better than that!

I came here on my lunch break with a friend and even called ahead to place our order so we wouldn’t waste time. After ordering a coffee and sitting outside, still well within our lunch hour, a staff member came over and asked us to leave because they “needed the table.” This made no sense. Other guests who had been sitting longer—some without even eating—were left alone, and there were still empty tables available. It felt targeted, unfair, and honestly disrespectful. I shouldn’t be made to feel rushed out when I’ve paid and still have time left to enjoy my break. After that experience, I won’t be coming back.

I’ve been coming to this café regularly with my friends, especially in efforts to support them over a big chain that opened across the street. The food is great, and the female servers are absolutely wonderful - warm, welcoming, and attentive. They always remember our usual orders and make the experience feel personal and inviting. Unfortunately, the service from the male staff has been consistently disappointing. They are unwelcoming, inattentive, and often get orders wrong without any acknowledgment or effort to correct mistakes properly. When errors happen, there’s no simple apology out of common courtesy or attempt to make things right. Their attitude makes the experience frustrating, which is a shame. I really want to keep supporting this place, but the inconsistent service makes it difficult. If management addressed these issues, it would truly be a five-star spot.

I don’t feel like it’s fair to give the establishment an overall bad rating because I didn’t get any service. But this rating is more so because of the initial treatment and lack of information. Simply wanted to share for any first timers like myself … Im disappointed b/c I was greeted with a very weird vibe… I don’t know if I missed a sign or memo … but no electronics are allowed as the waiter told me after I sat, so not a place to enjoy a cafe while working or studying, FYI… Even though there was a gentleman across from me with a iPad but I digress… Either way I just left peacefully out of respect for the rules. Plenty of places in the area that aren’t as such…. I just truly think there’s a better way to let the public know via website, google, etc.. as it’s in the heart of a touristic area…

I was looking for a nice quiet place to have a cup of coffee and a breakfast meal. First of all, very pack had to sit at the end of the bar, loud music plus loud talking, service was fast, however this place only offers sandwiches, salads.. not really a breakfast menu. I order a cup of coffee and a soup of the day, which it was a pumpkin cream soup, to be honest not at all good. Coffee was decent. Wouldn’t try again, unfortunately not my place for a quiet cup of coffee.

I’ve been a regular customer at Tinta y Café Miami Shores, usually going three times a week because my husband loves the place. The food is great, and the waitstaff has always been friendly and attentive. However, I’ve had two negative experiences with the manager, Carlos, that have been really disappointing. The first time, I asked about their decaf coffee, wondering if it was water-processed. Instead of simply answering, Carlos responded with a dismissive attitude, as if my question was ridiculous. I thought maybe it was a language issue since English isn’t my first language, so I let it go. Today, though, I had another frustrating encounter. I arrived with my dogs, planning to sit on the terrace, but it was full. Knowing that dogs aren’t allowed inside, I asked a waitress if I could order to-go. She kindly said not to worry and that I could sit inside. Moments later, Carlos came over and, without any courtesy, rudely told me that dogs aren’t allowed inside. I explained that the waitress had said it was okay, but he kept berating me, making me feel humiliated. It wasn’t about the dogs—it was about the disrespectful way he treated me. It’s unfortunate that a place I’ve enjoyed so often is being tarnished by one person’s behavior. I won’t be returning, and it’s a shame because the rest of the staff and the food are great, but the way customers are treated by management matters.

The atmosphere at Tinta and Cafe could be great, but my experience was tainted by the unprofessional behavior of the manager, Carlos. As I was ordering my coffee, he interrupted the cashier to ask her to remind a customer outside not to use electronics—and he did so in a condescending tone. I very much enjoy coming to this location for my lunch, and I have never had an issue until today. I was told my meal would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. When 20 minutes passed I asked about my order to the lovely lady that took my order and a short guy with a buzz cut and glasses named Carlos inserted himself and gave me a lot of attitude and said it isn’t ready and couldn’t tell me how much longer. I have never expressed such attitude when simply asking a question.

He even went so far as to tell me to go to Starbucks because he refused to serve me. This experience has left me no choice but to stop visiting Tinta y Café. It’s disheartening to see a restaurant with a Michelin star provide such poor service and tarnish its reputation. Experiences like this not only diminish the establishment’s credibility but also affect the overall vibe of the neighborhood.

We went to celebrate a birthday with my emotional support animal after asking if we could bring our loved furry 7lbs dog and they said yes. The manager started treating us bad and looking at us with face that resulted in us leaving the place. It was not my first time visiting them, but certainly will be the last. There are better option with warmer people working in them very close nearby. Suggesting you to visit another shop. Tinta y café said that it was a city code not to bring a dog in, but I ate across the street with my pet in my lap. Tinta y cafe 👎🏻

Thought i discovered the best neighborhood place and have started to come regularly, but i have been re-educated as the “manager” (he claimed to be) is the rudest unhelpful cocky arrogant person i have met). Good luck to this business model! (I guess we live in new times were customers are the idiots.) I asked him to clean the table which including a greasy spot, he swiped down with his bare hand — that much for hygiene — and then he got offended when i asked him to bring a wet cloth. At which point he said he “do not want to serve you” and asked me to leave, which im happy to oblige with. I guess this wont be my new neighborhood coffee place after all.

I walked into Tinta y Café in Miami Shores with the best energy and attitude, but from the very moment I entered, Fabricio, apparently the manager, had a very unpleasant, hostile attitude. When I chose to sit at a communal table, he insisted I sit alone at a small table in the middle of the café, even though I was waiting for a friend who might join me. The whole situation was handled in a very uncomfortable and unprofessional way. After that, he kept staring at me from the counter with a violent, intimidating glare that completely changed my energy and made me feel unsafe. For someone supposedly in charge, this is not how you treat customers. Absolutely not recommended.

No art, No life For the first time in my life, somebody asks me to stop while I am doing art. I was sitting alone at a table creating a very meaningful illustration for a Miami nature book, and the guys at the Café asked me to turn off my iPad, because of a local policy about electronic devices. My magic moment went down, I have a long relationship with coffee places and art. This doesn’t have any sense, no "electronic devices" allowed, but phones are allowed, but they charge you in electronic machines while you use an electronic card. I honestly don’t get it. I don’t think to return to this place again, no dogs allowed, no making art allowed. This is not my coffee place.

To make matters worse, there were empty tables and open seats at the bar at the time. When we raised this issue with the manager, instead of apologizing or acknowledging our concern, she defended the behavior and stated that since we hadn’t ordered enough food, we didn’t have the right to remain longer. She even said the restaurant has every right to push customers out and that I was free to choose not to return. This was shocking and insulting. After years of enjoying and supporting this local restaurant, we will not be coming back. Be aware: if you stop in for anything less than a full meal, you may be rushed out within minutes, regardless of how often you visit, how long you’ve waited to be seated or whether tables are available.

Fair enough, I thought — so I asked if we could sit at the two-top but move the umbrella for shade. Again, she said “no,” with no explanation and the same cold tone. At that point, I asked if we could sit inside. She looked at my dog and asked, “Is he a service animal?” We said yes. Then she immediately followed up with, “What is he trained for?” — again, dry and dismissive, as if she couldn’t care less. The whole interaction was so unpleasant that we decided to leave and have brunch across the street instead. To make matters worse, when we finished eating across the street, we looked over and saw two people seated at that same four-top table we were denied. I went back to speak with the manager, hoping for some understanding, but instead received a generic, unhelpful response that completely dismissed the issue. I used to really love this place, I pass by often, but since that day, I’ve notice multiple times that two people are seated at the same four-top tables they said were only for “larger parties.” It’s extremely disappointing and has left a bad taste in my mouth — not from the food, but from the lack of basic courtesy and consistency in how they treated us.

this place was cool, food was good, coffee was good, but the service? from one specific woman, was pretty frustrating. i asked simply if i could have the BLT with no bacon, it literally had egg salad and tomato, arugula. i asked if i could just either have it on the side (for my friend) or just no bacon. the woman replied just saying "no :)" with a smile, both times. i then asked why? and she said "because its a BLT :)" mind you... there was no lettuce, so wheres the L... and theres egg salad on it? its not a classic BLT. if she said no because they have a weird integrity with their menu, okay cool, but she gave no real explanation other than no. my party ordered their food and i waited to figure out what to do, but then ended up just ordering it. when it came out, their food was brought by someone else, and she hand-delivered mine straight to me with a smile. i then just took the bacon off? because it wasn't even cooked in. i would've paid full price too to just not have bacon on it. i don't really get it, but even if any kind of explanation was given, i would've been okay, but the weird passive aggressiveness was so frustrating that i didn't have a good experience here at all. i haven't been eating meat in literally close to 14 years, and i have never had someone give me such a hard time about simply not having it on, especially a SANDWICH. i also saw ANOTHER review about this same issue. but yea i will never be returning <3 lol
