I came here almost a month ago with me and my friends. We actually came when it close to closing but they were so kind and let us stay a bit after hours to finish. I also left my water bottle here but wasn't aware of it until I came back today after a month and they REMEMBERED! The host remembered I left it here and returned it to me. AMAZING service! Love the pho of course.
I’m there for the food. The place is old and run down. Boarder line health inspection but that’s a cultural habit and behavior that you often see. Thats said, rest assured the pho is amazing.
I love the family atmosphere here. Additionally by far the best pho broth I’ve ever tasted.
I love the noodle soups here. They are the bomb. Everytime I come I am more than satisfied. The beef and shrimp vegetables dish is really good too. I have celiac and I eat the safe dishes which are both those dishes.
I was born in VN. Dalat has the best seafood soup I’ve ever had. Great value, excellent food/service & always consistent. Live in Half Moon Bay but always come for a meal when in SBay. Love this place!!!
The place lowkey looks a little sus, but all the best food comes out from holes in the wall! Food here is really good, the dry noodles are fantastic! definitely coming here again.
Vietnamese food and the atmosphere here is above par. Service is always timely even when they have a full house. I look forward to going back again. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.
#48 ftw! Vietnamese comfort food all over the menu. The only negative thing about this place is parking during busy hours of the day.The owner is always welcoming, food is always fresh and yummy!
Great service and awesome staff they've been around for over 44 years. Proud of their chicken. It's the real deal. Try it with the house dipping sauce.
Such authentic Vietnamese food. I love the flavors of Dried Pho here, reminds me of home ❤️ We go back here for Pho every month!
Excellent Phõ place! Had the crab and shrimp special soup and it was truly amazing. High quality shrimp with real crab, which is pretty rare, especially at that price point. The soup was really tasty full of flavors, spices and herbs. The beef spring rolls are on the same level! My new to go place! Will be back to try some more!
Pho? This place is an O.G. for Pho soup and more. Definitely worth the mom and pop hole in the wall nest in the rooftop type of place. Check it out, you won't regret it. The musty, muggy, yummy smelling place makes you hungry as soon as you walk in. Enjoy the spring rolls too!
I really recommend here it’s so good especially the ham, the staff are so nice they make the noodles so good!
We went here with a large group about an hour before they closed with prior notice. The staff was very accomodating and stayed later than closing to support us. The food was quite delicious. I had the crispy noodles (which I had never had before) and I was very happy with my choice. The staff was willing to move tables around to accomodate our large party of about 15. I had a wonderful experience here.
I was craving the classic Pho soup while traveling in the area and that place was perfect. A genuine Vietnamese mom and pop shop with huge portions and very chill no frills vibe. The soup was godly. Maybe the fact that I was hungry helped too. Not the place for fine dining and fancy food though.
A work colleague brought me here today and I tried this AMAZING dish she recommended, I have no idea what it's called but it was #46, with clear noodles, dry. It comes with a side soup you can dunk your noodles in and a side of sauce. The dry option was truly divine but I'm dying to go back and try it "wet" in soup form. I also want to try their vermicelli. Definitely going back and would recommend.
Look at that shrimps 😳 This place been around for years. I always stop by Đà Lạt for a meal when I passing by. Good place for a quick bite. Don't mind those drugs deal going on outside lol.
Nice restaurant, food taste great and good services. The owner was very friendly and helpful 👍🏻 chúc anh buôn may bán đắc nhé.
Best Banh Xeo I’ve ever had! They were ginormous and filled with plenty of pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. Comes with plenty of fresh vegetables on the side. Highly recommend!
I ordered water prawns on special sauce and JESUS CHRIST it’s so good I’m not even joking. It’s definitely out of my price range ($23) but 100% worth it
Owner was was nice and helpful. This was one of our old hangout back in the days at SJSU. Parking has not changed a bit, tough.
Wonderful place. Have been enjoying their food for over 20 years.

I’m not one who usually writes reviews but the staff there were too kind! I’m new to Vietnamese food and they helped me out with choosing the food and guided me on the right way to eat an authentic Vietnamese dessert! They constantly offered extra broth too for my pho! Will definitely go again and the food was yummy!
The food was really good and the staff recommended me really tasty food. The people and atmosphere in general was welcoming and we had a really nice time Keep the good work up!

First time here thanks to the convincing positive reviews on the food. Ordered fried calamari for the kids, chicken salad -vietnamese style, lemongrass chicken and fried chicken with tomato rice. For the drinks we had Thai Tea and home made limeade. The interior and exterior of the restaurant may need a little rejuvenation? The Da Lat parking is a little weird, off the street, and around the restaurant. Would definitely come again for different dishes!
My all time favorite Pho spot to visit when I'm in San Jose. I always recommend it to family and friends who are going to San Jose. Their Jumbo Shrimp pho is the best!! Price is decent. Service is so, so. They do forget to refill your drinks.
Ate here for lunch. Get the seafood noodle soup. We ordered #46 and #48. I think it is the same with different type of noodles. Tasty without being too salty. Wait person told me not to get the beef pho. If I want pho go to a pho restaurant. Hence, that's why we stuck with the recommended seafood noodles.
This place has been around for as long as I can remember...the days eating with my family as a kid. Good food and decent service as any Asian restaurant. Still one of my favorite spots to eat a good lunch.
I like the big jumbo shrimp in their souls. The flavor of the noodle soups are great. The staff are friendly. I will be back
Came here the other day for lunch. Upscale Vietnamese food. Rice noodles bowl with the BBQ pork loin, meatballs and sugar cane shrimp. Worth for drive by to downtown for lunch.
Nice old family style restaurant that specializes in river prawn with rice and clear noodles, along with some other Vietnamese dishes. The portions are generous and flavors are full without the taste of msg. Good food at a good price.
This place dates back to the late 70s when Dionne Warwick was singing about San Jose. Da Lat itself is a large city in the central region of Vietnam Food is solid, decor not so much. Prices are about 15 to 20 percent lower than most other places, especially the newer trendier places. This is your grandparents' Vietnamese restaurant and the clientele is there to match. There is a little bit of everything here but is seems Da Lat is better at rice rishes and cold noodle bowls. Pho is a southern Vietnamese specialty and may not be what Da Lat specializes in. I could be wrong. The egg rolls and spring rolls were hefty and good. I had the grilled pork chop rice plate. The portions are easily enough for 2 people. Ask for a fried egg on top. A mix of locals, students and even cops eat here. Some people park on the sidewalk, but most park on the street. Don't go to Da Lat for the atmosphere but do go there for the food. Other people have for over 40 years.
I travel from San Francisco just to try this place. Service was great and food came out fast. Chicken was dry in the noodle soup. Beef steak pho was well done. Seafood noodle was good. Beef ball was good out of the 4 dish. Ice coffee was a bit strong which was good.
Da Lat has been around since I went to San Jose State. That was a long time ago. There are better hu tieu restaurants in SJ. Da Lat will suffice if you don't want to drive. We had the hu tieu dac biet, (around $15) and a combo crispy noodles $16. The hu tieu was OK. The soup weren't all that. It needed more bone in the broth. The combo crispy noodles was rough. It looked good but didn't taste great. First, the noodles were overcooked giving it a stale crunch. Too rough. The gravy was too watery. The toppings were a mishmash of meats, seafood and vegetables. We didn't regret coming here but if we drove a bit further, dinner would have been better.

I ordered vegetable egg rolls and they brought me shrimp egg rolls! I don't like and kind of sea food. I asked the server to please get me an order of vegetable ONLY egg rolls, NO SHRIMP and he said they don't have those! I ordered from the menu. UGH! Why bring me the shrip ones when that's not what I ordered??

We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant during normal time Tuesday dinner. I was eager to sample item 48: "special Da Lat rice noodle soup." I had no reason to doubt a heart on the menu and an enticing crab claw wouldn't turn out magical. But, we'd looked at older photos online. Their current soup iteration replaced the crab claw with an extra jumbo shrimp—probably an acceptable trade-off to most people. But not this eater, who has principles. In all seriousness, their final product ended up being not much different from other restaurants'. I couldn't discern anything particularly "Da Lat" (a distinctive region in Vietnam). They did give big portions, however, and servers were responsive when we needed.
Milpitas and San Jose has different menu. The dry noodle was not good at all compared to other restaurants with dry menu. The service was terrible shouldn't even give 10% tip.
I wasn’t overly impressed. Spring rolls were pricey and were mostly rice. Menu prices are high. Service was excellent.
This place isn’t easy to find because the sign is barely visible. Got the steak with tomato rice. It was ok. Nothing fancy. The steak was a bit too oily and salty and the tomato rice was plain and dry.
Not the greatest, but overall pretty solid. Soups are great, lemongrass chicken was so-so.

Used to be good Pho in town but they sol or changed owners and just aint the same. Sucks had been a loyal customer since age of 3. Want really good beef pho. Try Pho luc lac they bomb
The place is in need for an upgrade. The staff is friendly. The beef pho was flat tasting, in need of more flavoring. Such a disappointment since this place is rated 4 stars.
Had order the pho tai. It was not great at all. Will never ever order pho from this restaurant ever again. The rare steak was already cooked when I got it. The broth is too sweet. There is definitely msg in the food as I was having to drink water with my food constantly.

Worst pho ever had. Upon pickup Soup is very luke warm and won’t be able to heat up the noodle or the veggies. The noodle is therefore “hard rock” to eat.
I’m so sad that this place has gone downhill. I use to go here and stopped going for a while. This tables and chairs are sticky and the floors are dirty. The food is not the same. I guess new owners have hired the original owners to help take care of the place but they don’t have their heart in it. You can see and taste it in the food and the way the place is cared for. I was horrified to see a roach craw casually across the floor while I ate. 🤢🤮

I’ve been coming to Dat Lat since I was a kid, we are loyal customer who always recommend and bring friends and family members to eat here. I am so disappointed at what has recently happened when my family visited. The guy at the front taking payment wouldn’t accept a bill my dad was trying to pay with because it was “too old”. He had just got the bill from the bank and showed him it was real. The man declined and wouldn’t accept. My parents were disappointed but went back again because we enjoy the food. Huge mistake. They came an hour till closing and the same man rushed them and asked them to pay already and if they were almost done. Why welcome customers in and serve if you’re gonna rush? Integrity and service has gone out the window at this place. It is also filthy and floors and walls look disgusting. You all are better off giving business to people who still care for their customers.
