Great local Diner and one of the few good ones left in New York! The staff is usually friendly and warm, and the food is excellent and consistent. The tables and booths are always clean, and the support staff is very helpful as well. My only complaint is that the main section when you first walk in is always darker than the section to the left. The parking lot is expansive but you are better parking on the side than in the front, which is a little tight, especially with the new walkway in the front that they have put in / renovated. It looks like they have an outdoor seating section and hoping that it is available for the upcoming spring/summer season since it would be nice to sit outside - unsure whether it is a left over from the pandemic or something they started doing since.

My aunt is hard of hearing. She asked to move several times for a quieter table. The staff was lovely and very accommodating.

Ordered a souvlaki platter and greek omelette and this was one of the worst meals I have had in a while. Both meals were tasteless. I would recommend that the chef use more spices and actually put feta cheese in the omelette.

We went there on the recommendation from the hotel, Tru by Hilton. The amount of food for the price was surprising. Even more surprising was the quality and taste. It was so good we went back the second night. The service was delightful. They truly mastered service with a smile.

Every time I've been to Heritage Restaurant, I've felt right at home. The food is spectacular. You can find the best pancakes and also the best steaks in one place. Isn't that incredible?! The experience from the moment you arrive at the restaurant is very warm; they greet you with a friendly greeting and a smile. The bass boys are always very friendly. The waitresses are always attentive to your needs. If you need anything, the owner is always attentive to the customers, and that's something I value greatly as a customer. That's why it feels like you're at home. Going to Heritage Restaurant is definitely one of the best experiences.

Not exceptional, but a solid choice nontheless. For dinner, there are always specials on the display. The prices are reasonable and typical for suburban diners in middle class neighborhoods. My whiskey burger came with fries, pickle, cole slaw, and lettuce and tomato. Also, a liter of table wine is the price of a 9oz glass elsewhere. The waitress was cool! The breakfast is always good on Sunday mornings.

Last night my son and I stopped at the Heritage diner on our way home. We were very impressed at first sight beginning with the beautiful flowers outside, We were seated by the hostess Danielle who was very friendly and inviting. Once seated, we were so impressed by the menu starting with homemade sourdough bread and pizza dough. The menu was incredible with so much to choose from. We ordered sandwiches on the sourdough bread and they were delicious. Our server Rosalie was so friendly and eager to provide details on all the wonderful dishes on the menu we asked about. Rosalie truly added fun to our dining experience and we look forward to returning. Such a pleasant place! Keep up the excellent work.

A daily breakfast customer for months, I am extremely happy going to this diner! The breakfast is delicious with a huge portion. They just added the sour dough bread as a option with breakfast, absolutely delicious! The service (Lucy) is wonderful! She greets everyone with a smile and manages to keep all the customers happy even when the diner is full!! Enjoy coming here, absolutely recommend! Good food and service. Only negative is you can’t escape TV screens everywhere. Consider having a TV free area. People don’t go out to eat to watch TV.

Excellent service. We had no reservations and arrived with a party 7 and a stroller with a newborn. They were able to seat us quickly at a large enough table. Service was quick and food was served quickly and hot. Great service great food.

Ever since I moved to this neighborhood, this place has quickly become one of my favorite spots. Every time I visit, the food is always delicious and the quality is consistently great. You can really taste the care that goes into every dish, and it’s the kind of place you just naturally keep coming back to. On top of that, our server Nick was so friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!

The Heritage diner located in Mount Sinai is a great place to come have a meal. I have come here for a few years now and have always been happy with my food and service. The staff are very attentive to your needs so that you have the best dining experience possible. I would highly recommend a visit you will not leave disappointed. Tonight I delightfully enjoyed the chicken cordon bleu over rice which came with beef barley soup, and even sourdough bread came with the appetizer!

So tonight we visited the Heritage diner and I had salmon. My mom had salmon. My friend had a brioche French toast. Everything was absolutely delightful. The service was good. The food was top-notch and the manager even came over to our table to make sure everything was OK. He was just checking on us. Please visit the Heritage diner. Any chance that you get? Another quick one Mid morning stop.. In between Breakfast and lunch, around 10am Where do you eat? A Diner, of course!! (On suggestion from a friend who lives close😉) The burger was surprisingly good. Not a "Tippy Top" Tier by any stretch of the imagination, but it had a decent earthiness to it, which I enjoy. A touch over medium rare, but, so what🤷‍♂️ It was as juicy as can be. I really enjoyed it. The bun was useless, dry and fell apart, but whatever. The French Fries were the star of the plate👏👏👏 Definitely hand cut, soaked, rinsed, then pre-fried, before service. They tasted great!!!! One of the best plate of fries I've had this year!!! The pickle was pretty good, as well. Cole slaw, meh Service was really good. We have come to the Heritage Diner multiple times and were never disappointed. I was surprised when I noticed that I'd not left a review. The inside has three sections all equally comfortable. We sat in the room to the right of the register. It was quiet and welcoming. Lucille, our server was patient and helpful in answering all our questions. She checked in with us without being overbearing. The food was fabulous! I haven't had a grilled cheese sandwich in years but they had a page in the menu with an assortment of options and pictures! I really enjoyed the creamy cheese and crispy toast. Plus, perfect fries. My husband’s salad was unique and delicious. Highly recommend the Heritage Diner.

Good food and service. Back room on a Sunday afternoon was very noisy. Everyone was crammed into one space rather than spreading people out which is not good for the acoustics. Gave it a second and third try. The food is always very good!! More like a cafe than a diner. Great salads and sandwiches. Sourdough is fantastic!! Our server Jenny was wonderful!!

The menu has tons of choices that it makes picking your entree a bit overwhelming. The staff is really friendly and the service was good too. The food was yummy, portions were pretty big and this diner is very large and clean.

Great diner with good food and a welcoming staff. The recent remodel looks really nice and gives the place a fresh, updated feel. The menu has also been updated with some great options, which we enjoyed. The only small disappointment was that the kids’ menu no longer includes some of the items it used to. Overall, still a solid spot with good food and service, and we’ll definitely be back.

My wife and I were in the area in the early morning last week and decided to give the Heritage Diner a try for some breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelet with some fries and mt wife ordered French toast. Both meals were served quickly and were delicious. The portion sizes where just about right I would like to come back to this diner because they sell some amazing Sour Dough bread to take home. The staff here were all very nice and the price of the food was on par for the portion size.

Have been going to Heritage Diner for a while. Our meals always delicious. My only concern is the sourdough breads that are for sale, although look delicious were not covered. Anyone can pass by touch or even sneeze by them. I would think twice before buying a loaf!

The over abundance of creepy AI art not only ruined my meal, but it made me very sad. The Heritage Diner is easily the best when it comes to its food. But seeing that my money went into AI art is a weird feeling. Its not an improvement to the atmosphere, it's a distraction. Let walls be walls, I don't need a cheap canvas every five feet to remind me I'm in a restaurant. The mural in the main dinning room might as well be removed, because its completely overshadowed by the AI. Overall, weird.

This used to be the greatest diner around with fantastic servers and an unlimited array of delicious food. Not sure what changed in 2025 but it was big. The menu has changed at least twice this year and each time the prices jumped significantly and the food options decreased, removing long time favorites. Most of the excellent staff that was there for years is suddenly gone and our orders are wrong 75% of the time now. If you want to ensure that you get excellent service, make sure your server is either Cathy or Chelsea. Otherwise it's a coin toss. Instead of investing money in the broken glass light fixtures (large cracks) that hang above the tables, they taped the light fixtures and put new pictures all over the diner that have no meaning to our town. There used to be beautiful photos strategically placed, of the local area. Now they've all been replaced with AI images of unfamiliar faces and dramatic art. They did recently hang a framed "bio" about the diner that includes incorrect dates of when it first opened at that location. That's why the food prices increased so much??? Are they going to increase again if they fix all the broken light fixtures? It's very sad to accept that what was once a fabulous place is no longer. Thanks for the memories Heritage.

The only thing keeping me coming back is the food. When you finally get it, it is very good. The service is always, ALWAYS slow and it’s hard to get your servers attention to see what’s happening with the food. Twangy country music? Really?! Lastly, the prices are very high for a diner. $13 for a BLT and $14.30 for a grilled cheese?!

Basic diner. But I can see they have specialty menu items catering to keto friendly and carnivore diets soooo there's that. Personally, I prefer a diner that has specials that are almost an "include all." Basically, an appetizer, a meal, dessert and bread basket. But maybe I'm spoiled from one of my other favorite diners. I only had the French onion soup. I was in a rushand didn't want to order too much bc it seemed busy. So eh. Soup was good.

We eat here every few weeks. The food is pretty good. We usually have the same server, Kathy. She is lovely and often remembers what we've had previously.

The food has not been up to par. It is slipping. Coffee cups too small . 15 cents extra for decaf coffee is ridiculous. No more candy at the register. I have been going there for many years but the dinner in Rocky Point is much better. The service is excellent.

My family and I have been going to heritage for years now and never had a problem. The owner treats his employees with lack of respect and dignity and the manager needs to step down and find another career to branch to since customers constantly hear him degrading the people who make him money. Our community comes here to have a pleasant experience and The manager ruined that by hiring teenagers that can’t do their jobs yet they demean employees who have worked there for years. My family and I will now take the drive to a diner where the servers with seniority are actually appreciated.

Very disappointing. They very clearly use the cheep microwavable bacon. The home fries are DISGUSTING. seriously, how do you mess up potatoes? Tastes like baking soda. Yuck 2 stars for decent burgers and nice staff.

Its on the lower end as far as diners go. Continued to go because coffee was free with a breakfast entree monday -friday. They recently got rid of this and increased prices. Not anywhere worth it anymore. Station coffee house much better food and prices. Used to go every week, they lost my business.

Overpriced especially compared to other options around… Went to order dessert and was told I could not order the cake because it was “too old” and they had to throw it out despite it being in the display case when I arrived. Gross but at least they tossed it instead of serving- but a business should never be ran this way… I have never been to a restaurant/diner and was told something like this before… Not sure why it’s so packed.

Understaffed and poorly managed. This is the third time my family and I have tried this diner. We live within 5 minutes of the restaurant and hoped this would become a regular food destination. Unfortunately each time we’ve gone we’ve waited more than 15 mins once we were seated just to get a servers attention. Last time they were very crowded, so I understood, but today there were only a few customers. Our waitress (who I had to find) claimed she thought someone else had our table. This is poor management and not the fault of our server, but as I said, this is the third time this has happened. Clearly management cares nothing about their customers because no one from the front walks around to refill coffees or check on their customers experience. And a huge pet peeve of mine is the minuscule size of the cups they serve coffee in. Seriously? It’s like a dolls tea cup! Very cheap. Our bill today was $88 plus a tip. Expensive for breakfast for 3 adults and a 2 year old. Suffice is to say we won’t be going back.

Not a great experience Christmas 2025. The homemade sourdough bread, however, is outstanding! The menu was a bit minimal and offered no Christmas dinner specials. We got our soup in a regular amount of time and as it was served, were told our entrees would be right out. 40 minutes later, my son went to the front to ask them to please pack our meals to go... my younger son had worked all day and was exhausted and had enough waiting around. We all were ready to go before the meal even arrived! My son said no apology was offered when he explained how long we waited after having soup. A few minutes later our kind and apologetic server appeared and assured us it was being packed and would be right out- but they had no more mashed potatoes so they gave us baked (didn't ASK what we'd like... just informed us.) The food arrived and some confusion ensued at the register as to where the check was... finally it was located and we paid and went home. One son received mashed potatoes with his salmon, my sister and I got baked potatoes with our turkey. My sister asked for her turkey with the gravy on the side... there was no gravy at all provided. My younger son's burger had very wilted, half spoiled lettuce hanging off the bun all haphazardly. What a disappointing meal!

The service was fine, the food was underwhelming, and the AI art plastered all around the restaurant was jarring. I was actually distracted from my meal by the creepy AI art of uncanny waitresses and unappealing food. I can’t understand why a real artist or photographer wasn’t hired. Also, the canvases don’t fit between the windows where they’re placed…horrible atmosphere.

Last time we were here I had to send back my meatloaf sandwich. It was corrected but required some arm twisting. Visited today and the place is collapsing in complete disarray. My wife got French onion soup and a piece of bread in it was inedible and hard as a rock. My wife’s meatball parm sandwich looked like a blind man put it together. It fell apart as she picked it up. I ordered the deluxe double cheeseburger with the usual fixings. I asked they be cooked very rare. My burgers were medium well. I received no Cole slaw or pickle. This diner has gone downhill immeasurably.

The Service was horrible. Took our waitress 30 minutes after we sat to see if we wanted to drink. The silverware was Dirty. After we ordered simple dinners, Like a salad and sandwiches we had to send our dinners back because the meat wasn't prepared and the salads had an dead ant in it. The Board of health should investigate this diner.

First time and last time here. The place looks like a good successful Diner, however, the food is terrible. We ordered a variety of items and everything was terrible. Food also came out cold, had to send it back. No soap in the bathroom - had to ask for it.

Little green bugs all over the Lettuce October 7th 2025 This is the diner to avoid on Long Island Original owner sold within the last year or so and it’s so clear to see DONT EAT HERE ! Owner claims it didn’t happen ! He got a phone call from an employee that day cause I refused to pay. PETER YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! Jumps to the Claims all my reviews are negative but doesn’t deny the bugs LOL Board of health is aware as well and was sent a video from the heritage diner , WOW just stay away from this place

For $20 the turkey dinner was absolutely disgusting. The vegetables were like a soup of mush. The stuffing tasted like sweet French toast. The turkey was decent I would say, and that’s about it. Very disappointed.

My husband and I went for lunch we have been at this dinner for years with family. Food was always great . We ordered 2 buger deluxe burger cold and Raw! I said coffee only fresh waitress gives me old coffee. This diner fell off don’t waste your $$$ Horrible

I’ve been living in Mount Sinai for the past 15 years and have been a regular customer at this diner for just as long. They say the ownership hasn’t changed, but I’ve noticed differences in the menu, staff, and overall management—though that’s beside the point. Tonight, I went to dinner with my wife and ordered the New York strip with a house salad. I’m not even going to complain about the long wait between being seated and getting a menu—I get it, it was a Wednesday night and a relatively slow one at that. But what happened next was unacceptable. As I was eating my salad, a roach crawled out of my plate. I was absolutely mortified. I wanted to yell, but instead, I calmly asked the waitress to call the manager. When the manager came over, I showed them the roach, which I had killed on a napkin. I could maybe understand finding a small green bug in lettuce—it happens—but a roach? That’s beyond unacceptable. After years of being a loyal customer, I left feeling disgusted and deeply disappointed.

Ordered my typical French onion soup but was that a mistake. Very burnt, bitter taste and asked the waitress for chicken noodle soup instead. As that was dropped, I noticed the chunks of chicken but no noodles. Instead I see corn and green beans and ate all the chicken. Must be a new chef, because there was no noodles in a dish that suppose to have it. My Mushroom and Swiss Cheese came out cooked well when asked for medium rare. Barely ate, was civil and asked for the check. I had then informed my waitress who looked shocked but apologized. As I went up to pay, I made sure she knew that everything was wrong but always had a good previous dining experience at that well established diner. She was nice was but was surprised like myself. Maybe ina few months , I may go back but for now...Island Lake Ronkonkoma is my go to.
