Great Human Being

This was an absolute privilege to hold court with Coco. The man is a legend and wise beyond his years. Nothing else to say but thanks to my brother for the recommendation and Coco for the hospitality.

Free camping on the baja run by a formernpolice officer. Safe and community driven. Jorge who runs it is mind of like an old jedi of baja. It was empty when I went, but covid and all that... jorge was a generous host. Currently it's a drive down a dirt road because the state moved the highway. Jorge said they were going to move closer to the highway. A rare community project worthy of support. Ill be back.

If you are going to Laguna Chapala (highway 1) from San Felipe you pass by Coco's Corner. A van had broken down and Coco invited the whole group in from the rain, and they were working on their car. They would have been stranded if it hadn't been for Coco and his corner. We took some pictures and signed his book, and had some laughs.

If you are ever in Baja, you have to see Coco. He has been living here for 75 years. A great place to stop for a cold beer, or soda.

Great stop for a cold beverage and some very interesting conversation. Heading south on 5, the ride is definitely made for adventure bikes

Nacho keeping the vibe alive

Cocos Freund Nacho bietet hier preiswert kalte Getränke und nette Geschichten, in einem wunderbaren Mexikaniscg-Englisch Sprachenmix...es ist einen Besuch wert. Cocos friend Nacho offers cool drinks for less money and also nice stories in a wonderful mexican-english language mix...you should stop here.

Si pasas de San Luis Gonzaga hacia la carretera Transpeninsular, no lo olvides hacer un pequeño desvío y visita Coco's Corner, los ingenieros que trazaron la carretera nueva (Mex 5) cambiaron el curso para que no pasara por ahí, una mala jugada para la historia de esa región. Es el mejor lugar para una cerveza o agua fría, fallas, roturas, cualquier problema que tengas en tu unidad lo podrás resolver con el señor Sandez, tiene toda clase de herramienta y toda la experiencia del desierto para que llegues a tu destino. Además de miles de anécdotas de viajeros, imagínate toda una vida en ese lugar asistiendo a los viajeros. No olvides firmar su libro de visitas. Saludos Sr. Sandez (Coco's)

En un viaje en motocicleta llegamos a Cocos cayendo la noche a lo lejos veíamos luces, sin saber bien de que se trataba, aquello parecía algún tipo de campamento post apocalíptico estilo Mad Máx, al llegar nos recibe un hombre sin piernas (coco) de muy mal carácter pero todo un personaje, vale la pena deterse en el lugar comprarle un.par de cervezas, sacar unas fotos, firmar la pared y escuchar las historias de coco

Excelente lugar , las estrellas seben alo máximo, en el 2013 pase por ai con un autobús de turismo de la empresa monte bellos de Córdoba Veracruz, iva yo para cuidad constitución bacalifornia sur,en ese tiempo estaba emparejando para el pavimento y antes de yegar a coco's comer me enterré con el autobús enbla arena,fue una experiencia chingona saludos atodos los q an pasado por esta carretera es la número 5 para salir ala uno rumbo a guerrero negro ;) saludosss

Es increíble que cocos no nos cobre nada, solo las cervezas y tenga comida, Botana, aguas, leche etc. 💯👍

Coco's Corner is at it's new location along the new Highway 5. Google doesn't show the new highway yet so can't move the pin. Same area as the old location just near the new paved road and is hard to miss. He said he sees a lot of people fly by now since the new paved road is much quicker than the old Ruta 5. Stop by and grab a coke or beer from the legend at the new spot and sign the logbook like so many others have before. Even if you're heading down 1 it's a quick detour and easy to get to now.

Coco’s Corner is at its new location. Coco is 82 and though he is confined to a wheelchair has been a Baja California institution for decades. Stop by and say “Hi” to a Baja Legend. Coco often has stories, cold beer and sodas to share with visitors!

It cannot get more unique than Coco"s Corner. I triple dog dare you to spend a couple three hours here trying to prove that wrong. You would do well to listen to some stories while sittin' for a spell.

We had the pleasure in May 2020 of riding through and paying homage to Coco. I arrived first and had some time to chat with Coco...and hang a few pictures for him. We loaded up with some beer, zap-strapped a BMW F800gs back together, then continued south. If you pass by Coco’s corner, stop in and say hi and bring him something special. He prefers lace or Moto-plates...I brought the latter.

An amazing human being!!! This is not a commercial place. Coco is a wise man, living in the middle of nowhere, depending on donations and the sodas and beer he can sell. Since the Mex 5 is completely paves and bypasses him, visitors have to make an effort to get his place. Very much worth the detour!!

I came into Coco's late in the evening Feb 8th 2018. It was getting cold and I needed a place to shack up for the night. Coco was most gracious and hospitable. I recommend stopping by and visiting any time you can. He's fun to chat with, but he also gives much meaning to life in the Back Outback. Coco, if you see this, know that I appreciate your there!

Coco is one of a kind. If you ride adventure or dirt bikes, this is a must stop. Good for a cold beer a bathroom, and a few laughs. This place is iconic. Have your lady bring an extra set of panties to contribute to the decor. *** Sadly, Coco passed a few months back. He will be missed on our trips south.

A little oasis (if you can call it that) in the middle of a few 'tough' roads. Not sure if this should be a 1 star or a 5 star but if you're looking to for a quick Coke or beer, and meeting some interesting people as they pass through, this is the spot!

Quite an interesting stop. There is lots of racing history here and photos on the walls. Don't expect good bathrooms, all there are is a couple of out houses.

El mejor lugar para una cervaza fria, fallas, roturas, cualquier problema que tengas en tu unidad lo podras resolver con Coco,tiene toda clase de herramienta y toda la experiencia del desierto para que llegues a tu destino. Salud Coco!

Sitio en medio del desierto y baja california , venden soda y cerveza e incluso tienes baños (letrinas) nada lujoso pero en medio de nada mas muy oportuno

omg Coco is such a bandito! friend rolled his Jeep on the way to calamajue (cah-law-mah-way) --- but coco got wind of it - we went out the next morning to get it, but it wasn't there! As we were coming back, lo and behold, there it was, parked at Coco's Corner! He had stripped it - then he demanded we pay him for towing it out!LOL no bueno coco, no bueno!

Interesting stop in the middle of no where along the bad road on 5. We stopped to stretch our legs and take a break from the road and to snap a few pics. Didn't go inside though.

The guy was unfriendly. He looked down at me and then he simply walked away. There was nothing much in Coco's corner. The road was incredibly rough. It was not worth to visit there.

A place to get a cold drink. Not friendly at all

He cut trenches across the road and I bent both rims on my Ducati.. go slow!!

This place was closed as of first week of February 2023.

I get that this place is interesting and all, but the guy was just plainly rude to us. To my first hello, he made some racists noises, which was not funny, and everybody there got silent and awkward. We had to leave right away.
