I spent some time in Texas and the biggest thing I miss (other than my family) is the Mexican food. Camino isn’t the same, but it’s my favorite in our whole area. The waiters are so sweet, always professional and this place is consistently good.
This is my go-to for authentic Mexican in the entire Syracuse area. I get the enchiladas, they offer both the green and red sauce so you can get it according to your tastes. My wife tried the fajitas last time, they came out sizzling and she said they were the best she's had since she moved here from California. Definitely try this place, it's close to downtown and right across from the airport so I'm sure it's convenient for everyone. Prices were decent, around $40-45 total for two adults
The food is way too flavorful, a great place to bring your family!!
First time here and it was amazing. The customer service was great and the food was sooo good and for good prices. Food came within like 5 mins of ordering too! The atmosphere was very nice, Have no complaints whatsoever, can’t wait to eat here again!!
Affordable, fast service, yummy and satisfying portions. There is a fajita dish (I can’t remember the name) that comes with shrimp, chicken, steak and chorizo 🤤. My partner and I get the “for two” size and we always have leftovers. 👍🏾👍🏾
Now this is THE best Mexican food I have ever had! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think that the prices may be on the high side, the portions will tell you differently. The seating arrangements are very roomy. Overall, my wife and I had a wonderful dining experience. Definitely coming back again!
Excellent Mexican food with fast service and variety.
I have been searching for authentic Mexican food in my area. I am so impressed with the consistent quality, flavor, freshness and service!
Glad I found this hidden gem, I was getting sick of non-traditional Mexican restaurants that were way over priced. The meals were fantástico and muy asequible. Place was clean with polite servers. I left with a full belly and still a fat wallet. I will definitely be back...
I have been here several times with friends for dinner. The food is always excellent. The margaritas are a must have. They serve fresh chips and salsa on every table. The wait staff have all been friendly and attentive on each visit. Prices reasonable. Always an enjoyable experience.
Oh where do I start with this restaurant?... I have not only eaten here as a customer but I have had the pleasure of doing delivery service for this location. The food is out of this world! I'm from Texas and I'm here to tell you it is true, authentic, delicious Mexican food. When it comes to the staff, I haven't had much issues with any of the female waitresses or hostesses. However, I have noticed not only myself but other delivery services have had issues with this location. IE – GrubHub, Uber eats, ETC. They always have an attitude when you go into pick up the order? I don't know why that may be... As I was patiently waiting for my order to be picked up for the customer, this staff was incredibly rude to another delivery service, a gentleman who was patiently and politely waiting his turn in line. This was weird to me because we are the ones that are delicately delivering their food to the customer... We should all work together so that the customer satisfied.. It has nothing to do with anything other than that. Maybe this is something they can keep in mind because everyone is working hard. Maybe they should consider a pickup area station over by their bathroom where we are out of the customers way and out of the way of the bar area...? Instead of getting mad at us for waiting for the orders? Just some thoughts
This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Syracuse.
Absolutely amazing food!! We were seated very quickly, service was just as amazing. Ordered a steak quesadilla and chicken enchiladas with chipotle sauce. It was so very good!! Definitely worth it to stop in and try anything on the menu, you won't be disappointed!!
Christian was the BEST server ever!!! Ohhhh maaaan. Or shall I say ohhhhh señor. This food was sooooo flavorful. I lived in Houston...I know authentic Mexican food. The Spanish rice is my favorite, unlike any I have ever had before. Delicious is an understatement. Enchiladas...best I ever had. Tacos with steak in corn tortillas...best I have EVER had. I hope EVERYONE in the burbs north of the city, and those in the city, make it over to dine in or take-out. Ooh..and they deliver! That's a plus!!!
I come here all the time. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing. The atmosphere really sets the mood and the staff here are very friendly and super attentive. The food comes out fast and is always so good. I highly recommend if you are ever craving mexican food this is the place to go!
My fiancé is super picky about her food. This is the only Mexican restaurant she'll eat at. We absolutely love it. The people working there already know what she orders everytime. The vibe inside is super chill. There's never a copious amount of people in there. It's just a nice fun little spot to get some good Mexican food. The chips and salsa are my absolutely favorite and the roja quesadilla! Super yummy. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who doesn't want to eat in a crowded restaurant but wants good food for a reasonable price!
This place has great food with good size portions. Always get a second meal out of it. Also the service is the fastest I've ever had at a sit down restaurant. It's a nice quiet location with just enough background noise to make you feel like not everyone can hear everything you say but you aren't having to raise your voice to have a nice conversation with your family and friends. Our new go to place for GREAT Mexican food.
Great service ! delicious food ! go check it out !
Finally made it to Camino Real Mexican and was not disappointed. I ordered the fajita salad and sides of rice & beans and specialty margarita. The food was fresh, delicious, and authentic. The North Syracuse spot is truly a hidden community jewel. I look forward to inviting my friends to join me at my next visit.
Best mexican food I have had in the Syracuse area so far. Don't let the outside fool you. This place is legit. The service is fast and friendly. Food is fresh, housemade, and top notch. Portions are large, price is very reasonable. Will be a return customer.
The food was great and fairly priced. We got the food within 10 mins of ordering. We will be returning :)
We were seated and served quickly! As far as the food goes. In my opinion, it's one of the better Mexican spots in Syracuse, and we've tried a few. The staff is always friendly!
Service was great, quick, super friendly. Environment was cozy, authentic feeling, and quiet. I had beef chimichanga my wife had a taco salad and an enormous and strong margarita. It was delicious, I had to help her finish it. Chips and salsa was amazing and my boring son got fries. He said they were good. 10/10 will go again.
Camino Real Burrito is always delicious(pictured without pico de gallo on top as requested). Never had anything but great experiences here. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. Every dish comes out quickly and super hot. Ingredients taste very fresh and they always season things perfectly.
Food is exceptional. Best I've had!!! Seems authentic. Generous portions. Staff is all friendly. Expect to be seated. They did a major reno from the old pizza place there and did a wonderful job. Really pretty inside. They are owned by same people as Rio Grande in Liverpool, but my husband said this place was better.
I’ve eaten at Camino many times, both for dine-in and takeout. It’s the most authentic Mexican food around, with a wide variety of dishes including some of the best burritos in Syracuse. My go-to is a pork burrito smothered in verde sauce, but everything I’ve tried on the menu is delicious.
Five stars all around based on what you would expect for a moderately prices Mexican restaurant. I had the $13 combination dish with a chalupa, chile rellano and beans. Good stuff. Restaurant was clean, wait staff was friendly and attentive. Meal came with complimentary chips and salsa Full bar available. Would go back
Love coming here. Fast service, great food. Its a family favorite
We stopped through on a Sunday night around 7. Our server was wonderful. The food was delicious (enchiladas for both of us) and came out really fast. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will go again!
Delicious Mexican cuisine at affordable prices. The portion sizes are excellent for the price and the food is ALWAYS hot. Fast and friendly service, the staff will have you seated with a complimentary bowl of chips and salsa. The environment is Mexican restaurant, with cultural music playing throughout. There is a bar with TV's for those interested. We ordered "Lunch #2" which was a beef burrito with beans and rice (see pic) and Shrimp Quesadilla (2) off the side order menu.
I’ve had Mexican food in multiple restaurants in Texas and it’s safe to say this is the best Mexican restaurant in Syracuse. I always get the tacos a la diabla (steak and chorizo tacos) and a side order of the chicken quesadilla. Lots of flavor, affordable, served hot & Makes you want to come back for more!!
Ate there for first time awesome price, food, and service had dinner menu for lunch prices from other Mexican restaurant 😋 very pleased will be back
Went early Friday evening for dinner with my wife. Food and service spectacular. Highly recommend for authentic Mexican.
Very fast and attentive service, relaxed atmosphere, and fantastic food & margs!
This is our go to place!! Always and I mean always good food!!!! Very reasonable pricing. Authentic Mexican food. Usually dine in or if we don’t want to be out of the house long we do take out. I know as soon as I call in an order it will be ready by the time I get there. 10-15 mins drive time.
Alot of food establishments have been remodeling and I absolutely hate it, however the new remodel here is absolutely PERFECT. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting. The food has always been AMAZING and very affordable. The service is always fast and on point. We typically spend under $30 for 2 people and always go home with leftovers. The shredded chicken quesadillas are my absolute favorite, the chicken is flavorful, tender and they put plenty of it in the tortilla. Highly recommend!
This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area!! Their food is so delicious, I must come at least every other week! The food is always super fast and delicious, the service is great, and all the staff is so friendly! They are perfect for a date or a large group. And the BEST guacamole! I love Camino Real so much!!!
Can’t say enough good things about the guy who handles all the to go orders. Always on time never makes a mistake and nice as can be. Just as good when you sit down to eat there. 10/10
My Husband and I kept driving by this place saying we wanted to go and we finally took his parents there and we have gone several times since. Our waitress Miriam is absolutely amazing. She is so attentive to our tables and makes a really good margarita. She is funny and remembers who we are every time and it's always such a good time whenever we go. I have brought my family and friends a few times and my husband has brought his friends and every time it's amazing food atmosphere service. Also I highly recommend the churros for dessert they are so good!
Couldn’t get a pic of my husband’s but he got the Enchiladas Supreme Dinner, I got the Carnitas Enchiladas (pictured after I dug in). My husband loved his, and I love mine. It was so flavorful, the rice was cooked perfectly. Upon picking up our order the gentlemen work knee were so sweet, the inside was such a calm and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Went for a late lunch on Sunday and can’t wait to go back. The chips and salsa were fresh and amazing. I had the carnitas real burritos, and my boyfriend had the Birria tacos. His was very good but mine was amazing, even without the pico (I HATE cilantro). The carnita steak was the best I’ve ever had. We split a flan for desert but it wasn’t the greatest. The mojito was fantastic. Great service and experience.
Quick stop in Syracuse for dinner during a one night’s stay for a lacrosse tournament. We wanted something that had gluten free options and Mexican always has that option with corn tortillas and street tacos. We couldn’t be happier. Good authentic burritos for my husband and myself, and street tacos for my son. Of course the sangria margaritas were delicious. Friendly service, easy to get to, and plenty of parking. If we’re back for the same tournament next year, we’re definitely stopping by here again!
Authentic Mexican taste. Our server was a delight and made the best jalapeño margarita ever. The “medium” is huge with thick slices of jalapeño and cucumber. A must try. The Aztec Guac was yummy but the avocados were a bit harder than I normally like, still pretty good. We couldn’t stop eating the house salsa and chips. I ordered Corn Chicken Street Tacos but was disappointed they didn’t come with toppings of cilantro and lime as pictured on the menu. The corn tortillas were ridiculously hot which had me believed they might have been microwaved. I would come back again.
Food and service was great. Food came out really quick. Portion size was huge. Being the first time visiting here we were unsure what to order, so we decided to try a burrito to share. It was very tasty and satisfying, big enough to share. The place wasn't overcrowded but steady stream of customers. Also it was nice and clean. Thank you (Kyla?) for your service!!
This place was imcredibly clean The staff was friendly and attentive. Great service and even better food. The menu was extensive with a wide array of options. The house margarita comes in large, huge and massive. All in all a great experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for reasonably priced, sit down Mexican fare. There was also a fairly steady stream of to go orders which would indicate quality and repeat customers.
Excellent food and deserts.Every one receives salsa and chips. Very big menu. Lunch specials end at 3pm. They are smaller portions than the dinner You get a lot of food. They do serve alcohol. Their homemade salsa is very good. They have booths and tables. My meal came in under 5 minutes. The guacamole is amazing. Everything is very fresh.
We absolutely love this place. Authentic Mexican food as it should be! Our fave is the burritos texanos made with steak.. you will NOT GO AWAY HUNGRY. Service is first rate. Prices are great and the food fantastic. Oh and served fast! With chips and salsa. A real Mexican dinner!
We have eaten there twice in the last week. The first visit was for lunch and it was exceptional. Food and service was excellent. The second time, the waiter forgot to come back and take our order and they only gave me the same amount of guacamole and sour cream as they did for a single chimichanga, even though I ordered the dinner plate with two. My fiance received the same amount of food for dinner as she had received for lunch, even though the price was 30% more. The food was still very tasty. So I averaged out the two visits. The first was five stars, the second fell to three stars. Maybe we will return for lunch again, but the jury is still out on that.
Was there for lunch and had the lunch number 5. I was a plain and simple lunch. Very meaty and sort of just boring. My corn taco got a soggy on one side because of sitting in sauce. I had a really good soup there once but that was five years ago. Always stick to what was the first choice order tacos.
I had a great time here. The food was pretty good but I’ve had better, the service was excellent really liked my waiter he was very nice and had very fast service. Would recommend to go on a night out with the family.
Great Tex Mex restaurant. Much like it's sister, Rio grande in Liverpool, great food, friendly wait staff, bright, simple decor. Large menu with dozens of choices; sometimes I tell myself that I'm just going to eat their salsa and guacamole (yes, they're that good), but that never happens, I MUST have an entree... Portions are large, which leads to another regret; I've never had dessert there, because I'm too full!
I lived in Denver for 10 years and had my share of authentic Mexican food and that's exactly what you get here. I almost can't put into words how happy I am that this place is close to home. Very friendly staff, lots of menu options, and good prices. I wish I could tell you how the fried ice cream was but I was so full I honestly didn't have room for dessert.
Second time here in three years. Both times have been good. Food quality, portion size and taste have been consistent. Food is not too spicy unless requested. Very flavorful and fresh. Mixed drinks are good as well. Facility is clean and customer service was prompt and friendly. Give it a try if your in the area. Menu is a bit much, but worth it! Pricing is fair as well not a bank breaker.
Not a bad spot, the food is pretty good, I just have a hard time with getting charged a fee dollars for sour cream and a few diced tomatoes, this is a Hispanic restaurant! Those things should be included, or at least not expensive... I guess this is the world we live in, worth checking out tho if your in the mood for some authentic grub. I'll be returning.
Ordered the chipotle tacos and chicken tacos. For 3 of them, the price of $17-18 is pretty steep. The chicken was flavorful alone, however, the steak in the chipotle tacos was so salty I could not eat it. Rice and beans on the side was a decent portion and tasted like your average rice and beans. Service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. I so wish the food quality was better so I could come back. Perhaps in the future I’ll give it another go.
Was not super busy when got there on a Friday night but did have people. Looked like was some servers running around and some not. Took awhile to get drink order and then food order made. Margarita was good. Ordered pastor and burger. Burger smelled funny and we didn't eat it at all. Fries were crispy. Pastor tacos seemed overcooked and slightly burnt. Asked for onion and cilantro never got. Asked for water. Never got. Server was nice but seemed hectic as no one was helping run food it seemed. I had been asked to move tables by management because a "large party was coming" the large party being 5 people. They used same size table for me and my party and added chair at end for them. Not sure why couldn't have used one of the other tables. Did not feel like we were cared for as customers.
Came in ordered food. Sever appeared to not be interested in doing her job. One of us ordered fajitas l, asked chicken or beef, ask for beef. Came out with chicken. When brought to the servers attention, the sever replied with well the chicken is better in my opinion. Food was good but I have never had a sever tell me something was better than what I ordered. Overall service was not pleasant
My gigs was great, as was my child's, but my husband, who struggled to find something he could recognize, ordered taco salad. The server said nothing at the time, but she had cautioned us against many other items. Ut arrived, and looked more like taco salad soup. No joke, hubby had to use a spoon to 'pick' anything up. The outer shell was burnt on one side. It was sad because I love Mexican food and neither if us can figure out how it turned out the way it did. Maybe they didn't drain the grease from the ground beef? But this was more than that. Hubby did not eat. Really dampened the evening. Server commented when I got her attention, yeah, I should've warned you about that, sori. She was the only server there and was simply distracted, working really hard and was tipped well. My tacos were amazing, the guacamole was super fresh, handmade, child had equally amazing chimichanga but I did forget to take the pix
We ordered the Flan, quesidillas, and cheese dip. I really hope this was a one time thing because this was the worst food I have ordered in a long time. Almost no seasoning and everything was soggy. Even the cheese dip was as watery as water itself. I have never seen such a thing. Considering it is also that watery when cold is concerning. And I don't mean just a little soft of a quesedilla. It was legit like if you soaked bread in water type soggy. We could not even eat it. For reference, only other time I have EVER given 1 star to a restaurant was getting food poisoning. There are plenty of good reviews so I do not know if this was bad luck or if the good chef is gone and now there is a bad one. Whatever it is, hopefully they correct it ASAP.
I have never had a problem at this restaurant but my husband and I just got take out and got home to find we literally had one tablespoon full of rice and barely any beans with our orders.. We ordered from the dinner menu not lunch and paid full dinner menu prices. Not like it used to be at all anymore . New people? Not sure what's going on at this place .All new staff and cooks it seems and its not working well for the restaurant. Hope they can change it around. We used to love it
If I could give no stars and leave a review I would. I DO NOT KNOW how this restaurant has 4.7 stars!? Unfortunately we read the reviews and we're very excited until we received our food and it was the WORST food I have had in so long. The quesadillas were soggy and rubbery, the cheese dip was liquid, the steak tacos were not seasoned and over done shriveled up pieces. We debated after the 3 of us took a few bites of everything taking it back and complaining but we just threw it all away instead. Will not be returning here after this awful experience. Not a thing we tried was good not in the slightest.
Local restaurant in North Syracuse. Friendly service (by Elizabeth the server) and good food. I'm editing this review today (6/16/19) because of an unfortunate experience I had with a staff member who just so happened to be the MANAGER (Katie). I asked to substitute an ingredient in a dish and she stubbornly told me NO. When I asked her why, she started making excuses, gave me attitude and told to me to leave for simply questioning why she couldn't add/remove one simple ingredient. This managers name is Katie, avoid this place if possible, terrible customer service by an individual who should be setting an example in regards to the rest of the staff. To top it all off, no apology was given, and we even asked to pay extra for the substituted ingredient. If you're interested in a quality Mexican restaurant, I'd stick to Azteca Mexican Grill.
The first thing my boyfriend said when we sat down is, I've never eaten food where it smells like wet paint. While the taste of the food was good, much pricier than the other Mexican restaurants we go to, in Auburn. My boyfriend found a couple bones in the steak burrito he ordered. The waitress was nice but the cook didn't seem to care. Weren't looking for a free meal, just an acknowledgement from the cook. To top it all off it was the meal that kept giving for both myself and myself. Needless to say.....we wont go back.
