DO NOT sleep on their weekend Mexican menu. The food is so fresh, incredibly full of flavor and their homemade hot sauces will blow your mind. They deserve WAY more than 5 stars.
We were passing through Napa and needed to eat breakfast. Whipped out Maps and found Emmy Lou's Diner. Had to go because we have a grandchild named Emmy Lou. We were not disappointed. They were fairly busy for a Saturday morning, but we were greeted and seated within minutes. They took our drink order right away and got us our menus quickly. My wife ordered the Frittata, and I ordered the Corned Beef Hash. I was a bit surprised by how quickly our food arrived. I loved that they had a variety of condiments already on the table. I loved the Gunslinger Jalepeno sauce. Both entrées were delicious. I really liked the Frittata. The coffee kept coming without having to flag down the waitstaff. Everyone there was so attentive and friendly. I used the facilities while we were there, and the restroom was spotless and well stocked. All in all it was a very nice experience.
Emmy Lou's is a mom and pop sort of diner with traditional American breakfast and lunch servings. The food is inexpensive and definitely filled the morning breakfast need I had. The staff are all super friendly. I will be back. Thank you all.
Great food and even better service, this is the best diner in town for burgers and sammies.
Great place! Service is always good and the food is delicious. Always just dang good food!

Breakfast for lunch. I asked for the hash browns very well done and they were about normal.

I've been going to Emmy Lou's Diner for years usually for breakfast coffee. It was a good diner with normal diner food. A while ago, the owner aged out and there is now a new owner. It was fine before for what it was, but the new owner has spruced it up. The name is changing to La Cocina de Dona Luz (it still also still says Emmy Lou's Diner on the sign) and besides the diner food has a new Mexican menu. Today instead of just breakfast coffee, I got one of my favorite Mexican dishes, Chilaquiles Rojo with frioles refritos. I was amazed. It was wonderful. The salsa was homemade and fresh and tasted great. I will be going further into the menu soon. I am not a shill. It's just that this is one of the few real local, non-corporate, non-tourist restaurants left in Napa and with the new Mexican menu is taking a step up. Try it!
The food was absolutely delicious and the vibes were very homey. Service was friendly and prompt. We came in on a Saturday early afternoon and we're seated right away. I'm excited to come back and try more of their delicious looking menu. They have a mix of traditional American diner food and Mexican food and everything we tried from both sides of the menu was awesome.
Absolutely amazing. The Micheladas are to die for. Hidden gem!
I love Amy Lou's diner it's an awesome place and they sell a great breakfast and delicious coffee you can go into IHOP pay $5 for a cup of coffee when you could go to Emily's diner and pay about $3.25 which would you prefer make the right choice
This place right here... nice lil feel like you stopped at your families ( Tia or tio, grandparents)for good cooking & hot food. 🤗 Amazing biscuits and gravy we had to glance over to the kitchen to see if my wife was back there. I've only tasted gravy that good at home! Such goodness ... Mimosas on point... Thank you for the GREAT customer & grub.

Let me use this exel , but the copy is an expensive which is nice but even up on your coffee price
This place is a hidden gem! We happened upon this place looking for another place. We wanted breakfast and we found it! The waitress was very nice and watched our coffee for refills. We really appreciated that! The only thing I would say is that it seems like nothing is cooked with salt so you have to add your own. The gravy would have tasted better if the salt had already been added. It had a bland taste to it. Not much flavor, didn't even have the sausage flavor that was in it. But overall, guess you can always add salt! Lol

Some of the saddest "gravy" I've ever encountered - milky, ground beef infused. Coffee had medium boldness - petty good for your average diner. Good service.

Food was okay, but I was overall underwhelmed. Tasted like cheap coffee and cheaper syrup. I really wanted to like this place as it doesn't have a chain diner vibe. Menu was limited and nothing stood out as a signature dish. The food was not bad, but it wasn't particularly memorable either. Service was amicable, so no complaints there. If I couldn't get reservations elsewhere this makes a decent backup in that you're less likely to have a screaming toddler next to you.
Do not recommend coming here on a weekend. We waited 45 mins for food. They didn't warn anyone how long it would take. Service was not great and the food was not worth the wait. The omelet was over cooked and dry. The hash browns were tasteless and dry. Biscuits and gravy were definitely not worth the cost especially with dry small biscuits and not flavourful gravy. Once we finally got our food they tried to rush us to pay a minute after dropping off the check and hovered try to see the tip making it a very uncomfortable end to a mediocre meal.

Order of 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon, hash browns and iced tea was $22+. What the eff? Didn’t say a word. Paid the tab with a smile and a generous tip. Just want you to know I won’t be back. Like trying to support local but that same breakfast at Black Bear or Denny’s is less than half the cost and just as good or better. Sorry, but your prices are ridiculous.

Not what I expected, to start with presentation was terrible. Ordered chorizo and eggs, with hash browns. Hash browns weren't even warm. I like chorizo, in this case the quality was at best poor, and the other ingredients, peppers, onions etc , that was told by server were not included. The avocado included was badly brused, and not editable. Not that it makes a difference, I did see other plates that really looked good. To summarize, at any price, I,rate this as poor. .
First time here. Wanted to check out the biscuits and gravy. Asked if they were home made form scratch and was assured that they were. Total crock of s**t. Buscuits were some kind of bread roll and were NOT BISCUITS! Gravy had a sour tang to it. Even though the portions were rather small I could not finish eating this disaster. Also very much over priced for the serving size. I would rate this place a zero star if allowed. One thing for sure I will never go back.
