La comida muy bien hecha y el sabor muy bueno, las porciones son grandes, precios bastante correctos, solo me quedó a deber un poco el servicio, se perdían de pronto los meseros, aunque cuando estaban siempre fueron atentos y cordiales.

The atmosphere was great and the food and service was pretty good. We did not do the hibachi or Korean BBQ. The dishes were filling. We felt the prices were on the expensive end so be prepared for that. I wish it was explained what the bottles on the table were. We assumed it was so sauce but there were two different sizes. Upon tasting it seemed that one was low sodium. Would have nice to have been explained that. Loved the variety of dishes.

Has an incredible meal at this specialty restaurant. The food was fresh, delicious with beautiful presentation. The staff at the Sushi bar were so friendly and incredibly talented. The food that was prepared by them is a work of art. A must try is the Fried Ice Cream!!!! I can't wait to go back

We’ve gone to Gong twice during our stay and the food and service was amazing. On our first night we had Osvaldo and Eduardo as our waiters who were incredible. Tonight we had the prefixed menu and the person that signed us up gave incorrect information; however, Ysabel ensured that the kitchen made something for our son. Thank you for the great memories and employees we had a chance to meet.

Food was very delicious. It's pricy but it's worth it. Desserts were delicious as well.

Gong is a very fun experience, even if you don’t sit at the teppanyaki grills. The service is exquisite and the food is fantastic. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The king pai chicken and teriyaki chicken in particular were fabulous.

Love this restaurant! The atmosphere, the food, and the service is outstanding. We have been going to Gong for 15 years and Cruz has been the BEST waiter through and through. Every year. Thank you Cruz!! The service here makes the difference. Our family really appreciates it.

Gong Tempanyaki experience at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Somehow we were the only people at our table. Our chef, Esmerelda, was brilliant. Way more food than we could possibly eat. So. Much. Fun.

We had a fantastic meal at Gong. I wasn’t expecting great Asian food at a resort in Mexico, despite the fact that the food at Vidanta is consistently excellent. The cocktails were super creative and delicious. The chef starter (all the higher end restaurants at Vidanta send out a special small starter) was a spring roll that was light and crispy. We ordered the edamame and tempura to start which both had large portions. We had the Pad Thai, Kung Pao chicken and the salmon teppanaki which were all fantastic. Definitely exceeded our expectations. The Kung Pao was spicy with a bit of sweet. The Pad Thai had a healthy amount of chicken and shrimp, was not overly sweet as it can sometimes be, and the portion was huge (these dishes are sharable). We didn’t eat at the sushi bar but it was consistently busy. The service was fantastic and the setting on one of the lakes with the water show was really nice. One of the best dinners we had at Vidanta. Highly recommend an evening at Gong.

Fabulous dinner. Tempura was wonderful. So was pad Thai and chicken teriyaki. Our server Sergio and Ospaldo were very attentive and helped us choose. Highly recommend!

Came here as a wedding anniversary dinner. Food and service are amazing. They make Martinis and certain cocktails in your presence. I came back again before I left to experience the hibachi outside. Must have for sure.

I loved it here. The restaurant is inside Vidanta and if you’re already here you know what the price range is. About 30usd per person for dinner. It’s a 100% worth it. The chef at Gong has an amazing menu, the sushi is so fresh and well made, you will not be disappointed. Their other dishes are full of taste on every bite and the presentation is amazing. Their desserts are also great, although I have to admit is hard to top the actual dishes. The experience was amazing and as always the staff at Vidanta was more than friendly. Totally deserving of the 5 star review

The water show is fun to watch while you wait for your food. The staff is very accommodating, however it will take awhile for your food to come out.

Expensive Asian food, small portions, including small rice portions. We ate their sweet and sour shrimp dish almost on a daily basis. Usually 7 pieces, sometimes 8. The sauce seemed to taste like it was ketchup based with soy sauce. Last night's dish was served cold.

This review isn’t about the wait staff - ours were superior. This review is about the food. I wasn’t too thrilled by the high prices and small portions — if I wanted diet food, I’d have brought my Jenny Craig!! My friend got the teriyaki chicken, which was tough and not tender. Off the menu was the tempura ice cream but it wasn’t the standard — usually vanilla but this was strawberry. The light show was nice but more than a cool water/light show is needed to cover the octopus sauce in the noodles.

Our experience at Gong in Vidanta was disappointing. While the staff was very friendly, the teppanyaki lacked flavor, and the chef didn’t ask for steak temperature preferences—everything was served well done. The sushi was dry, and even the complimentary drink was left unfinished. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, but overall, it did not meet expectations for the price and setting. Would not return for teppanyaki.

Pretty atmosphere. Very pricey for very small portions. Food was terrible, service sucked. I don’t mind paying good money for good food even if it’s small portions but this was pretty bad…

Do not eat here. I was born in China and grew up in Vancouver (a city world-renowned for its Asian food scene), so PLEASE trust me on this. Our first night at the resort, all the other restaurants nearby were full due to special events so we ended up at Gong by default. To say the food was disappointing would be a massive understatement. I am not joking when I say that my ancestors are turning in their graves and that Gong should be ashamed of the slop they’re serving at such exorbitant prices. To start with positives, the service was friendly, if a bit slow, and the restaurant ambiance was nice enough. The problem lies entirely with the food. The food at Gong is NOT at all authentic and is worse quality than your typical small-town USA Chinese buffet—yet at 4-5x the price. We spent ~$2600 MXN (on food alone) between 6 people. Here’s a rundown of what we tried: 1. Kung Pao Chicken ($315 MXN) - fried popcorn chicken nuggets in a gloopy sweet/spicy sauce with cashew, bell pepper, and too much red onion. This is SO far from authentic Sichuanese Kung Pao Chicken that it feels almost insulting. This must be how Mexican people feel about Taco Bell??? (1.5/10) 2. Teriyaki Chicken ($385 MXN) - woody and bland chicken breast slices drowned in an overly sweet sauce, served with severely undercooked grilled veggies (broccoli, bell pepper, etc.). This dish was under their “specialty” section lol and I’m only laughing because otherwise I’d be crying. (0/10) 3. Yakemeshi Mixto aka Mixed Fried Rice ($330 MXN) - tasted mainly of chicken bouillon powder and of butane torch. You know that specific charred flavour imparted by a butane torch like with aburi sushi? That’s what this entire rice tasted like, and I’m just very confused. Otherwise, it had meagre portions of protein and was underwhelming. (3/10) 4. Pad Thai ($365 MXN) - Out of all the dishes, this probably looked the most “correct.” Came with crushed chilli, crushed peanut, and lime. Only problem is that it tasted bad. Way too sweet and way too saucy. I did not taste any fish sauce at all. Without the salty funk to balance the dish, it was bland and one-note. The shrimp was overcooked yet the rice noodles were undercooked and al-dente. (3.5/10) 5. Three different sushi rolls: Dragon, Tuna Tataki, Golden (around $350 MXN per roll) - The rice was mushy and under-seasoned, with an overload of sauces and toppings on each roll, creating a jumbled taste profile. These rolls were probably the best part of the meal, but then again, the bar is in hell. (5/10) In summary, if this review can dissuade even one person from wasting their money at Gong, then I will rest easy.

Not very many vegan options. I had the fried rice with tofu, minus the egg and it was just average. I did add eggplant, but there was not many pieces of it in my dish. The blue signature drink was just a sweet cocktail, so I do not recommend giving that a try.
