It’s not everyday you can try Texas BBQ or better yet Michelin awarded Texas BBQ that’s been ranked 1st out of all the amazing BBQ joints in the state. For the average customer this takes dedication and patience to try the best. From holding a spot in line early to waiting to place your order, it’s a mini marathon lasting over serval hours. But as the saying goes, good things come to those that wait. The Prime brisket really does melt in your mouth. The smoked turkey is tender and moist. The pork ribs are dialed in perfectly. Smoked meats are always rich and very bad for you. But in moderation it’s a thing of beauty. Overall, the bbq lives up to the hype. Patrons carried their food trays back to their tables as if they had gold bars on them. Ever so careful and determined to bask their appetites in bbq paradise. Because if it were easy it wouldn’t be as good or fun. One of the managers said it’s like Disney World in here. It really does have that kind of luck!

Burnt Bean is 100% worth the hype. From the jump you can tell this place is special + the chef coming around doing table touches just sealed the deal. Love seeing that level of pride and care! The brisket? Insane. Exactly what Texas BBQ should be. The sweet corn pudding is a must, the Texas brisket chili is rich and delicious, and honestly the sides hold their own with the meats, sweet corn pudding was my fav! Save room for dessert because the German chocolate cake and banana pudding were both amazing. Like… don’t-skip-dessert amazing! Great vibes, friendly staff, and food that makes you want to plan your next visit before you leave. Worth the wait, worth the drive, and absolutely a repeat spot.

Delicious food, wonderful service and awesome atmosphere. We decided to finally give it a try to see what the hype was all about. We are so glad we did. The pork chop was superb! Absolutely fantastic. The brisket melts in your mouth. The sausage changes lives, and basically, we need to go back to try more. We went Sunday morning-the only day they serve breakfast. Sunday mornings don't always have all of the side available. We need to try that corn pudding and the barbacoa. If you're thinking about it, go ahead and try it. It's worth the experience.

Burnt bean bbq is sooooo good!! Totally worth waiting in line for over an hour to get in. I bbq all the time and do some bbq catering and travel around trying bbq and this is hands down the best I've had!! If your in segine Texas, get here about 9:30 to get a good spot in line, they open at 11am-3pm. You will not be disappointed with the food here!! 100% recommend. I spoke with Ernest the owner, very humble and devoted to his craft, you can taste the love he puts into his product, his passion is undeniable.

If this place being ranked number one in Texas for barbecue doesn't draw you there then how about I just tell you that every piece of meat that I ordered was AWESOME!! The brisket is the best I've ever had and the beef cheek was so tender I could barely pick it up with the fork... Can't recommend this place highly enough and if you're even on the fence you might as well jump over and head to the Burnt Bean Company!!

It's hands down the best bbq between Houston, Austin and San Antonio. If someone says " Oh you gotta try ....." I do and haven't found anything better. Not only are ALL the protein options scrumdayleumocious ALL the sides are as well. Yes it's a long wait a lot of times BUT DAMN worth it!!! Have been probably 6-7 times and is ALWAYS on point!!

After yesterday, I didn’t think the food could be topped. But @burntbeanco was named number 1 for a reason. And they did not disappoint. What’s better than beef cheeks? How about pastrami beef cheeks. Wowza! And hands down the best ribs I’ve ever head. Texas has some special things going on, not just in terms of BBQ, but just food, period. This is the big leagues, and I’m here for it! The guys working the put even invited us in to Take a look around and I found their hospitality to be unmatched. Yesterday at L&L the guys at the pit seemed annoyed we were looking around. Everything we got to try: Brisket(absolutely amazing) Spare ribs(get in my belly) Turkey Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage El Cinco Sausage Smoked Pastrami Beef Cheeks (the best) El Tejano Brisket taco (avocado crema, red salsa, pickled onion, queso fresco) Hot cheeto queso mac(interesting) Cowboy beans Bacon ranch taters(our favorite) Street corn pudding(was suggested we mix with the cowboy beans-so good) Banana Pudding (excellent) Big Red Tres Leches

As good as it gets! Long wait (about 3 hours) but worth it. Arrived at 945 on a Saturday and ate close to 1pm. Everything was amazing. I’ve been to Franklin’s and lived in Kansas City for 10 years. Best brisket ever. Not sure how they do it. Desserts are great as well!

Texas monthly #1 BBQ and this place did not disappoint. I think I see why it got ranked #1 because it's not your normal BBQ spot in Texas. They give it a twist especially on Sunday by having barbacoa and even munedo. The meat are really good and tender and really enjoyed them i missed out on the turkey, pepper jack sausage, jalapeño sausage, and beer ribs. So you do have to get there early. Overall I did enjoy it and would be looking forward on coming back.

This is an amazing experience, the wait can be long but 100% worth it. That said the moment that the brisket hit my tongue and started melting i knew this was going to be unforgettable. Everything from brisket to cowboy beans, sausage to potato salad, carna gasada taco to huevos rancheros was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Arrived Thursday afternoon to find a very small line offor ordering (thank goodness). By the time we were done ordering, our food was waiting for us hot and ready. One of the people working there was able to answer questions about ingredients and food allergies which is so refreshing. We got the brisket with green beans, cowboy beans, pickle pasta and the el tejano brisket taco. Everything had great flavor. The brisket wasn't too fatty or too dry. Would DEFINITELY eat here again.

I made the visit to Burnt Bean on a Sunday. I got there at 830 am and was eating at 1000 am. The wait was worth it. I got brisket, ribs, jalapeno cheddar sausage, el Cinco sausage, carne guisada taco, barbacoa taco, Chef's Special "La Sucia" (tostada topped with smoked lamb and beef belly), and the menudo. The Brisket was delicious. The tostada was amazing. I also got the cowboy beans which I had to fight my daughter for. Everything I ate was awesome. They were picked #1 BBQ joint by Texas Monthly for a reason. The service was great and the inside was nice. Seguin is also a great city to visit. It's a BBQ lovers top visit. Great job Ernest and Dave!

We got the brisket the house sausage and the pork ribs. All was phenomenal!! Can’t decide which was best because everything was great. The Mac n cheese tater tots cowboy beans and street corn casserole were all delicious!!! Also the guy with the purple mustache made it a wonderful experience waiting in line he came out greeted us and let us know everything was looking good enough food and had great such great customer service!! Shoutout to him!!

Finally made it here and it was great. The brisket and ribs were both tender and full of flavor. I really don't like green beans but these really tasted good. The drumsticks and sausage were very tasty.we drove an hour and a half, waited in line almost 3hrs and would gladly do it again for more of there bbq!

Everything about this experience was a 10/10. I saw this was the number one BBQ spot in Texas Monthly and knew I had to make the drive to try it. Being an hour from Austin, got there around 8:15am and had about a dozen to 15 people in front of us for a Saturday. We met a few folks from San Antonio and became friends. That along with the cool indoor AC, Christmas tree for the cheery season and well organized flow of everything was a fantastic atmosphere. The service from the staff was top tier, the chief to Chris to constant check-in from everyone, it was nothing shy of spectacular. The food, mouth watering goodness. I haven’t had a better Mac and cheese of any variation of the BBQ spots I’ve tried so far in Texas. It was the best I’ve had. The Korean Beef Ribs stole the show for me too, moist, tender, and exceptionally amazing. They were the best I ever had as well. The brisket and sausage were phenomenal as well. The red velvet cake was sensational. They have a personal in house baker that makes the cakes from scratch and I must say, the cakes are not as sweet but that’s what it should taste like, not all loaded sugar and overwhelming sweetness. It was noticeably better tasting and loved every bit of it. This place truly was well worth the wait and one of the best BBQ experiences all around I’ve had so far in Texas. 12/10 recommend.

Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had! It’s that good. The line was wrapped around the block and down the corner — we waited about an hour and a half, but it was 100% worth it. The ribs were incredible, sweet and smoky, and the marbled brisket was melt-in-your-mouth good. The mac and cheese was delicious, and they give you plenty of bread and BBQ sauce with your meal. We even chatted with some friendly people, who were from all over the world, while waiting, which made the experience even better. Totally worth the hype!

The meat was truly exceptional, easily the best pork ribs I've ever had. The brisket was definitely top-tier, but it was the sides that truly stole the show, absolutely mind-blowing deliciousness. We got the Queso Mac with Hot Cheetos, the Cowboy Beans and the Pickle Pasta Salad. The pickle pasta salad is something out of a pickle lover's fever dream, and I loved every bite. The cowboy beans are hearty and just got better with every spoonful I ate. Trying them with a bit of the house BBQ sauce also kicked it up a bit. The queso mac n cheese was great, but didn't stand out quite as much as the other two sides.

We got there at 8:30. Got our food at 11:53. And I would do it again!!! Korean beef ribs were delicious a good sweet and savory. Brisket was juicy and had a good smoke flavor. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage was good but did have a kick to it. As for sides queso mac was to die for. You add the hot cheeto crumbs they aren't spicy. Bacon ranch taters were good and flavorful. The only two things that could of been better were the cowboy beans and coleslaw, they weren't bad i liked them but wished they had more flavor. Honorable mentions: pickle pasta super delicious. And the sweet potato with toasted marshmallow could eat that for a lifetime!!! Dont forget the dessert we got banana pudding, carrot cake, German chocolate cake . They were all moist and packed with the best flavor!

Rode our motorcycles early Sunday morning to get in line to experience “What Was Behind The Burnt Bean Door” !!!! Three of us rode in from League City 4:30 am to meet up with friends coming in from Kerrville. The family ahead of us recommended the Huevos Rancheros with Brisket. They were right, one of the best breakfast we had in a very long time. We also brought portable ice coolers with frozen water bottles to bring back very delicious brisket, ribs, turkey. The best part was the Pit Master/Owner Ernest Servantes took a picture with us by our motorcycles in front of Burnt Bean with Manager Chris taking the photo !!!! We’ll Be Back !!!!

If you go on a weekend, get there sooner rather than later and be prepared to wait 90 minutes but just know IT IS WORTH IT. At most bbq places, the sides are just an afterthought. Here, they’re so good, they rival the mains. The dirty rice is insanely good. Same with the ranch bacon taters and beans. The brisket was so freaking good. And the house sausage (jack cheese and poblano) was delicious. My new favorite BBQ place. Will definitely be back and will recommend people travel here just for the food.

Rachel Barnard

We had to try everything on the menu because it all looks (and smells) incredible. We did exactly that, and honestly, nothing disappointed. But we had so much food and it was so rich that the 5 of us could finish half of what we ordered. The leftovers kept well though. The ribs were super tender and my favorite of the meats. The best flavor surprise was the corn pudding. Everyone agreed that it was a standout. It’s rich, slightly sweet, and the perfect balance to all the smoky meats. The place does get busy, so expect a wait, but the line doesn't form as early as some of the Austin BBQ spots and the owner decided to open up shop 30 minutes early! Definitely a spot worth the hype.

10/10! If I’m waking up at 5:30 a.m. on my day off just to be first in line for breakfast on a Sunday, you already know it’s worth it! The music always takes me back to childhood memories with my family, which makes it even more special. Ernest always comes by to check on us, and the staff is consistently so warm and welcoming. I truly love it here! 🫶🏻 Remember: Take home dessert!!! Banana pudding is my favorite but, the cakes are delicious too and they’re big slices. 🍰

In my personal opinion, it’s not the best BBQ we’ve had in Texas — but it’s still a must-try if you’re ever in the area. We arrived shortly after they opened, and it was honestly wild to see how many people were already waiting. I’ll never get over the dedication of folks who line up outside before opening! We ended up waiting a little over an hour before getting inside to place our order. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, the staff is friendly, and they do a great job keeping the line moving as efficiently as possible. For sides, my personal favorite was the potato salad, while my husband loved the mac & cheese. What we ordered: Brisket — Normally what we look forward to when we visit a place, unfortunately, it was a little dry on the day we visited, so we ended up using quite a bit of sauce. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage — Very flavorful and meaty. I would have liked a bit more jalapeño heat, but still very good. Pork Ribs — We don’t usually order ribs at BBQ spots, but these looked too good to pass up. They were tender and fall-off-the-bone while still having a nice bite. Hot Cheeto Queso Mac — Extremely filling — this could honestly be a meal on its own. Cowboy Beans — I didn’t try them myself, but my husband said they were solid, just nothing particularly standout. Potato Salad — Refreshing and exactly what you want from a classic BBQ side. The owner was walking around checking on guests and making sure everyone was enjoying their food, which I always appreciate. You can tell he takes pride in his craft. I love seeing the support they’re getting and wish them continued success!

We finally made it to Burnt Bean Barbecue, the #1 BBQ spot in Texas according to Texas Monthly! I was excited to get my Texas Monthly BBQ Passport stamped and see what all the buzz was about. We waited in line for an hour and a half, but the time passed quickly thanks to the nice people we met in line, BBQ fans are always a friendly bunch. It really shouldn’t take that long just to order food, but patience is part of the Burnt Bean experience. We tried the ribs, brisket, and chicken drumstick along with sides of queso mac, bacon ranch taters, potato salad, and corn pudding. The ribs were definitely our favorite, perfectly tender and flavorful, and the queso mac and potato salad stood out as the best sides. The other sides were a bit dry and nothing to brag about. The highlight of our visit was meeting owner Ernest Servantes, who was so kind and gracious, he even took the time to pose for a picture. The restaurant itself is spacious, but it would have been nice to feel a bit more of that warm Texas hospitality inside. For the food you see in the photos was $82.82 if paying with cash, but we paid with cc it was $92.79 (3.14 cc fee) ...yikes! Overall, worth the visit for the ribs and the experience, but be prepared to wait and pace yourself!

Delicious food. The brisket, sausage, and surprisingly even the chicken were all excellent — full of flavor and well-prepared. That said, the experience could be improved. 1. The wait outside was over an hour, which felt longer than necessary, especially given the number of empty tables available inside - and outside. 2. It seems the bottleneck is at the service counter, where only one person is handling meat cutting, another on sides/accoutrements, and a single cashier — all of which slows things down despite food being ready quickly. Additionally, while I appreciate a casual and welcoming atmosphere, I was a bit uncomfortable with animals being inside the dining area. They do provide water outside for guests during the wait. With a few tweaks to staffing and service flow, this place could be truly top-notch to match the quality of the food. The beans were amazing – and I did get an insider tip. I never believed I would’ve enjoyed flaming hot Cheetos dust on top of my macaroni. They proved me wrong. And I now know that I love the prickly pear lemonade drink

After reading that this bbq joint was voted the number 1 in Texas I just had to try it. You need to go early because the line is around the building, about a 1.5-2 hr wait. When you finally get in…

Wish I could give 4 and a half star to this place. There was a line to get in due to recent publicity of the place as the best barbecue in this area of Texas. Everything we had was authentic an…

Even though we had to wait 40 mins before placing an order of Brisket, cowboy beans and cole slaw! Brisket so very tender but two slices were 1/2 fat. beans had a nice tang but not hot! Cole slaw…

We made a special trip to visit TM’s #1 & #2 BBQ spots from the DFW. We expected a line to get our food knowing this is typical and really didn’t bother us. We arrived at 9:30 and sat down with our food at roughly 12:15pm. The Brisket was smoked well however lacked flavor. The Jalapeño Cheese sausage also cooked well but little flavor. We had the Mac and cheese and Bacon ranch taters for our sides, those were good and their churro style banana pudding was exceptional, I would definitely recommend. I didn’t care for their payment setup. You have to make our meat purchase at the first station and then if you want drinks (other than water) and a dessert you’ll have to go to the next station and pay there. Souvenirs are at a third station. Overall they are OK, but definitely overshadowed by many other craft BBQ spots.

Finally had the chance to visit Burnt Bean Company yesterday and it was a two hour wait for good bbq. I was very impressed with the burger and the German chocolate cake. Everything else was in my opinion a bit above average. Understand I travel around the country tasting bbq and my home is in Dallas,Tx so I have experienced the best of the best in Texas, North Carolina and Missouri. Depending on you experience with bbq and your Geographic location it’s not worth the wait. Brisket was below average.

Glad we gave this highly rated bbq place a try while visiting Seguin. Definitely popular. Arrived at 11:30am on a Thursday and waited in line for a hour and fifteen minutes. Ordered and paid at the…

I had been to Franklin the day before, brisket was on point. Excited to try burnt bean. Their specials looked really good. We tried the brisket, ribs, chicken leg, Tijuana chicken and house sausage. I was really disappointed. Brisket was ok, not melt in your mouth like goldees or Franklin, or interstellar. Definitely not what I expected for a number one restaurant. The bark was kinda dry as was the inside, had to choke down some pieces with a drink. 1/2 chicken in the special was tough and definitely not hot, felt room temperature. The flavors were very mild, not what I expected for a Mexican dish. The best things there were the Fideo soup that came with a special and the burger. We were first 20 in line. The sides were ok, but felt so heavy. Goldees is still number 1 in my book. First time I walked out regretting my bbq choice in Texas.
