Farm to fresh food in a beautiful setting. Much of it is sourced locally and is delicious. Not inexpensive but worth a good celebration night once in a while.

Best steak, salmon and drinks, we had a good time here. Randall was the best serve in the house, he is kind, and also knew the menu so well.

New restaurant along w| the newly built Four Seasons!! I love it. Great drinks, view, ambiance. I love eating outside to get a view of the river. Inside is super cutesy and chill. Perfect for a nice lunch, dinner, or a sexy date night. Great service as well!

Incredible experience all is perfect compare to the rest of the majority of the restaurants in USA ! There is a real service for which finally you want to give Tip which was not the case from we arrived in US. All is made to give you a perfect meal journey including a nice package for the kids with kids chair and incredible kids menu. The prices are reasonable and all is perfect !

Everything was awesome! There was almost no wait for our reservation. Our waitress was attentive, well informed and charming. The steak tartare, west indies salad and creme brulee were absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Great wine selection and cocktails. Would definitely recommend to even the most decerning of diners. Perfect last meal of our vacation, we will certainly return!

The blue crab/tomato salad and baked feta are so good I had to come back twice during a 5 day stay. Cocktails are excellent too. See Rene for best tequila espresso martini!

It is a good restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. The service is a little slow which for us was perfect because we spent more time talking and having a couple perfect moments. The dessert was really good and the drink. We were on the balcony in front of the river with a little lamp on the table making the atmosphere romantic.❤️

Chemin à la Mer’s cuisine and staff, interactive historical exhibit, observation deck, which also has an interactive component where points of interest are displayed and explained, even the helpful and friendly staff were all amazingly impressive. I strongly encourage locals as well as tourists to visit.

We loved this place what a sweet spot to celebrating life. Beautiful outlook to Mississippi River and the boardwalk. Beautiful interior designed well by the Four Season Hotel . Excellent food selection we were very happy here. Highly recommended place to visit Nola’s one of best high end spots.

Chemin à la mer is an upper class restaurant with a gorgeous river view. The food is very good and the service is really first class. This is a really get dressed and have a very nice dinner kind of place. For a fine dining experience in a really nice restaurant this is a place to try. Very nice and worth the price.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chemin à la Mer in New Orleans, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a touch of elegance that made it perfect for a special occasion. The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made sure we had everything we needed. And the food? Absolutely divine. I had the duck confit, which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The flavors were rich and complex, and the portion was generous. I also tried the shrimp, pork and dessert, which were equally impressive. Overall, I highly recommend Chemin à la Mer for anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in New Orleans. 5 stars, without a doubt! Thank you Chef & team for making my birthday so special.

What a beautiful experience! Well-trained waitstaff, and views over-looking the Mississippi River. An evening meal on a summer night was a most romantic date! My vegetarian dish was chef’s kiss.✨ We had a most delightful waitress. Thank you Chemin à la Mer!

We had the most amazing dinner here - the service was fabulous and the food was even better! We were celebrating a special occasion and Ashley congratulated us and gave us a glass of rose bubbly to start our evening. Ashley was the best!

Incredible experience at Chemin à la Mer. We were fortunate to walk in for a last-minute dinner without a reservation and sat outside on the balcony during a breezy and comfortable evening. The focaccia and oysters were delicious, as well as the beef tartare, accompanied by a glass of white wine. This was our first dinner together after getting married, and we are already planning to return for oyster happy hour with friends.

Fabulous staff and hospitality, fabulous food. The burger is just my favorite. The environment is a great relaxing and chill. The feta and honey dip is a fave and the crème brûlée is the best presentation in the area.

I love this bar staff. I’d go back just for their service. Was there on Friday and Saturday morning. Had all the coffee I could drink. Would be better if not out of a thermos but was fresh. Blueberry pancakes were great. Not cheap but you are at the Four Seasons. Bloody Mary was perfect.

I went here for the happy hour oysters, they start at $2 and they provided me with 2 choices. I ended up choosing half a dozen of each choices. I would recommend coming here for happy hour otherwise the oysters are set at a market price. The service was amazing, with great atmosphere. Great spot for an event.

Other’s reviews and previous underwhelming hotel restaurant experiences made me tepid prior to our visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. Nothing was amiss and everything on point. Shoutout to Randall and the gentleman behind the raw bar whose name we didn’t catch. I highly recommend the duck entree, shrimp entree, crab claws, as well as the crab boulettes. We tried all 3 oysters available and they were fresh and cleaned perfectly. It was well worth the price point and we will definitely be returning at some point during our stay!

Food was phenomenal! Best we had in NOLA. Steaks were cooked perfectly! We ordered a few sides: fries, double baked potatoes, the local mushrooms, and allll were sooo good! We started with the focaccia bread, which was wonderful. Finished with a few deserts for the table! Everything was soooo good! The vanilla meringue was interesting, super rich but very good with the accompanying sauce! Personal fav- the crème brulee was perfect!

Beautiful space if you step outside to the terrace you can watch the sunset. The service was impeccable the food as well and the cocktail offerings were delightfully spectacular. If you’re looking to celebrate or impress a date I would stop by and take in what true fine dining is all about. They also have a fabulous HH 3pm-7pm

My wife and I celebrated our first honeymoon dinner here. We called same day to schedule a reservation and had NO ISSUES with a wait time!! We were immediately seated and they had glasses of champagne already poured for us! Our server, Pam, was BY FAR the nicest person I’ve ever met in a service industry. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the food, how it’s prepared, and had plenty of recommendations!! We ordered the seafood tower, the baked feta, the filet mignon, and the fish of the day. Everything came out in a timely manner, and was exceptionally cooked!!! By far one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile! Thank you, Pam, for your kind service and making our first night of our honeymoon spectacular!!!

We came for an oyster happy hour and enjoyed every second of it. The most delicious oyster were here. We tried Little Moon & Bright side. 🫶🏻 My non alcohol cocktail tasted sparkling. Add their perfect service and the atmosphere and you would never want to leave this place. We definitely will come back to dine-in.

Superb everything. From entering, the welcoming staff and views. We were seated in a comfortable booth with night time views of Mississippi. This is inside thw Four Seasons Hotel, where we also were staying. We had two servers, which seems to be standard with upscale dining here and I love that. Perfect service, excellent cocktails and dinner. The lighting was perfect. Pool happens to be just outside of this restaurant. Beautiful view of towering other half of hotel over pool which also has cabanas. Would absolutely return.

We traveled to NOLA for our Anniversary and made reservations (last minute/day of but was able to get a reservation for 2 at 745pm). At first it was a little confusing locating the restaurant (it’s in the Four Seasons) as well as the correct elevator lol. However the view and atmosphere was superb. The food was delicious… our waiter (i forgot her name) but she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She accommodated my request (i mainly like juice in gumbo with very little meat), as well as something sweet and special for our Anniversary. Well, She knocked it out of the park with my requests. Food: My husband has the salmon and it melted in his mouth, very well seasoned (it’s the best salmon we ever had). He also enjoyed the Juliet Old Fashion. I enjoyed a well seasoned ribeye steak with a twice baked potato. The spinach with garlic was average. This was our first time but it won’t be the last time… 5 Stars.

Went there for a farewell and birthday dinner. Everything was amazing, The food is amazing, i like the crawfish Gratin. And especially our server, she’s amazing and generous. Handling a party of 10 must be challenging but she lit that night! ❤️ Thanks Pam!

Everything about Chemin a la Mer was immaculate. Walking into the restaurant, you're welcomed with a beautiful view of the river. Every table was thoughtfully placed so that everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the view. The food was amazing. We had a flight of oysters and I definitely recommend that to any oyster lover. Their herb sourdough & beef tartare was delightful and a great combination together. The cherry on top was the attentive, knowledgeable and kind staff. Pam was our waitress and made the experience delightful. I'd definable recommend for anyone looking for an upscale dining experience

Our server was Ashley, man she’s amazing!! She did everything to accommodate us, she was very patient, kind and understanding, we loved her🙏🏾. The food is great, just the creamed spinach that was lil watery, but besides that, it was great

Very nice spot to solo-dine. Facing a window, attentive staff. West Indie crab salad is a must-try item. Doesn't look like much, but has a variety of strong flavors, changing with every bite.

Absolutely immaculate. As a New Orleans native. It's quite hard to be impressed by food. Especially new restaurants but this is different. Chemin boasts an excellently menu, great drinks and a perfectly New Orleans view and vibe in the restaurant. My close friends and I have been twice. The a la carte steaks are delicious and tender, the sides are the best versions of themselves I've ever tasted, and the appetizers are delicious and innovative. We've tried the salmon and so many different options and they are all delicious . I went in for my birthday and the staff and everyone there was so welcome and accommodating. A few complimentary drinks to start us off and an immaculately experience the entire was through. I completely recommend the restaurant.

The food and drinks were great. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed Brandon at the oyster bar and Patrick. We were in New Orleans for 3 day and we went twice because of the service. The pan seared jumbo shrimp and cauliflower rice were amazing. This will definitely be on our to do list everytime we're in town.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here on our recent visit. Outstanding service, lovely creative cocktails, and really good food. It's almost a deceptively simple menu - lots of surf and turf - but the preparation, flavor, and presentation are all outstanding. Beautiful view to boot! We'll definitely be back!

Oysters. Crawfish gratin. Tuna crudo and crème spinach were all great small bites that filled us. Service was excellent.

Great food combined with great service. Especially love the chic elevated dining atmosphere that is different from most French quarter dining spots. Make sure to take advantage of the oyster bar. Loved the experience so much I returned the next night.

Carol in the morning was awesome same with the very friendly bar tender and the expo guy. The southern breakfast was everything that biscuit was big fluffy and gravy delish and eggs were on point. Portion was generous, flavorful and loved the chicken sausage. I will for sure order again on the trip back after Miami. Thank you to the chefs in the kitchen

This location has great views of the river from inside and from the patio. Quality is what you expect of the FS; environment, service and food are all tops. Mariz is a fantastic server, super attentive and happy to talk about New Orleans. I will remember the service and the view long after I have forgotten what I ordered.

Came here over the weekend to celebrate my bday. Such a nice place. Very beautiful restaurant with a great views. Food was very good too. Crudo was DELISHES! Great steak, but best thing about it was the service. Our waitress name was I believe Nizel. She was extraordinary. She made us feel so welcome and special. Brought us few extra side dishes and bday dessert. Many thanks:)

My friends and I dined here twice during our visit and both times were extraordinary. The food was absolutely amazing but what I'd like to focus on is the service. For dinner, Pamela T. waited our table. She had the best energy and you can tell that she just absolutely loves her job. She knew it was my birthday so she and a colleague had brought out a surprise dessert which was so incredibly sweet. Her kindness and knowledge of the menu truly made our dining experience memorable. And it was only our first night! Then on our last day, Thea waited our table during lunch. She too was so kind, patient and very knowledgeable. I've stayed at many FS properties and this stay was by far one of my favourites, thanks to that Southern Hospitality. Thank you, ladies, for making my birthday so memorable!

3/6/24 Went for lunch. Got seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was amazing she recommended the Duck and it was such a great dish. The focaccia was great too. I was seated by the window looking at the river. Great experience would go again next time I'm in town.

My husband and I dined here in March for a mini-honeymoon shortly after our wedding. I noted our celebration in the reservation and was not expecting anything special, but the dinner exceeded our expectations. We were congratulated by multiple staff members and treated to complimentary champagne and gumbo. All of the servers were very knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere and view is very nice, and every drink and dish were top notch. We had such an enjoyable time that we will be going back for Mother's Day with family.

R

Service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The restaurant was running behind on our reservation. Just a simple acknowledgement would have been fine however, the manager went way above and offered to comp our cocktails. Randal, the bartender, and Josh, our server, were exceptional. We ordered a variety of dishes so we could share and experience multiple Creole flavors. We were a party of 5 and none of us were disappointed. Would definitely recommend.

My sister and I LOVE this place. Food and service is always top tier. Oysters are always super fresh and ice cold, delicious cocktails, and we always order at least 3 desserts! We try to come every time we’re in town.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible experience at Chemin à la Mer. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The view is amazing and the atmosphere feels upscale but comfortable. But what really made the night was Pam, our waitress. She was absolutely fantastic—friendly, professional, and genuinely cared that we had a great time. She gave excellent recommendations, checked in at just the right times, and made us feel completely taken care of. Pam is a total pro and made our night extra special. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Pam!

My significant other and I went here for our 3 year anniversary. If I had the power to give this establishment a Michelin star, I would without hesitation! I have never had such unique and special dining experience before. The food AND drinks were DIVINE. All staff were very friendly and very well versed with the menu. I believe what made the experience so memorable was our waitress, Nancy. She ensured we had a proper celebration complete with champagne, dessert (with a candle for a little extra celebratory flare), an off menu amuse bouche, and many more special surprises. Anything we could have possibly wanted was tended to. I could not recommend this establishment more. It is a little expensive, but worth every penny. This is not just a restaurant but an experience! Not to mention the beautiful location with an outstanding view of the Mississippi River along the entire back portion of the establishment! WOW, I would I’m left speechless but me and my significant other cannot stop talking about this place! Lol

It was our family’s first time in New Orleans, and we didn’t have good luck with our Christmas Eve dinner choice at a very old, pretentious, tourist-trap-like restaurant. However, our Christmas dinner turned out to be fabulous thanks to Chemin à la Mer! The vibe, impeccable service, and quality of each dish were outstanding. All of us truly enjoyed everything—from the appetizers to the main dishes and desserts. Chemin à la Mer shows exactly what a top restaurant should do for its guests.

T
Tatyana Podstrelova

The food was excellent — especially the filet mignon, wedge salad, French fries, and puff bread. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was lovely and truly felt like Christmas, and the staff was very attentive and polite. A perfect place for a special evening!

Great location and the view to the Mississippi river! Guys, we do know what quality service is, and at some point it started crumbling… Waitress Paola saved our evening with her professional attitude and manners! Ask for Paola to make your dinner special!

K
Karly Pulido

I think the vibe is great and the service was impeccable! For the price paid, I do think the food should have been out of this world. While the food was really good...there was a potato side that was bland and didn't have enough flavor. I was also really hoping to get crab and they were out. For these reasons I can't give 5 stars.

Z
Zachary Ciolino

I enjoyed the breakfast here but I found it lacking something exciting to eat. The quality of the food was great. Somethings did feel a bit over salted.

S
Stephanie Taylor

Absolutely loved the food here!! Cocktails were also fantastic and the bartender was very friendly. We appreciated the attentiveness of our server for dinner too. Great service! The only issue I had was the temperature of the room. I was wearing a dress and the AC was blasting making me freezing for the entire dinner. We would have stayed for desert but I was far too cold and needed to get out of there as quick as possible. Unfortunate as it was otherwise a beautiful location and excellent food!

I
Inna

The shrimp tower was fantastic, but I found the steak and cocktails to be overpriced. While I appreciate the ambiance of the Four Seasons, I expected more enjoyable food for the price.

We where on a trip with friends, three couples having a wonderful long weekend in New Orleans. "Chemin a la Mer" was supposed to be the pieze de résistance. After having expérienced a phenomenal three hour food tour, lunch at Napoleon's, dinner at Antoine's during the time there, Chemin ruined the closing night. We came ready to spend, ordered 2 bottles of a very good $130 dlls wine to start. We ordered the 35 oz côté de boeuf to share. Ordered medium. It was served rare. We politely asked for it to be cooked more. It came back to the table rare again. (The pictures are of the steak after it came back the second time) The seasonal vegetables, where a very small portion of broccoli. Wish server would've let us know it was broccoli and the portion was really individual. This would've helped manage expectations. As far as the meal, the manager took care of it and was very apologetic. He did not charge us for the steak. They gave us several amazing desserts on the house as well. All of this took time to sort out of course. We where hungry therefore ordered some more fries which where delicious, second bread basket to fill us up. Should've taken a picture of the desserts to balance this review out. In any case this restaurant has potential but sadly too many options in New Orleans to be back. Did tip waitress 20% by the way. Everyone lost in this one.

C
Cassio Costa Santos

I expected more! This place is amazing, beautiful location, very fancy and great service. But I wasn’t impressed with the dishes I tried, basically there were no seasoning and no flavor. Especially for New Orleans standards! The appetizers and the desserts 🍮 were very good. I’m planning to go again to try other dishes. The view of this place is amazing and the bar downstairs is also worth the visit!

D
Desiree Bodin Banegas

Definitely not what I expected for a $300 meal. The food was very good, I have zero complaints on the quality, but I could have gotten the same thing for less at several other restaurants in New Orleans. It was not a $86 filet IMO. $15 for four stalks of asparagus was a little much. The staff was very personable and attentive, and easy to talk to. Multiple staff asked if we had allergies or dietary restrictions, which I highly appreciate. My reason for less than five stars is the fact that we were offered a glass of complimentary champagne for our anniversary celebration, then was charged $28 for said "complimentary" champagne. My biggest complaint is the atmosphere. For the Four Seasons, I expected a fine dining experience. I looked online where it stated the dress code was business casual, so that is what we went with. When I walked in I felt so overdressed. Every single other patron was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, with the exception of one gentleman wearing a tank top. It just wasn't the atmosphere I was expecting. If I do return, I'll be sure to break out my dress flip flops, and not accept anything "complimentary."

B
Brad Zelnick

I have only had breakfast (twice) and it is NOT what you'd expect at a Four Seasons. Service is haphazard at best, long wait times, requires multiple asks to get it right. Nice people for sure and quality of food is pretty good. Poorly managed.

K
Kat

It’s overrated imo. It’s the 4 Seasons, so it’s very expensive. But I think you are paying for the clout of saying you dined at the 4 Seasons. Honestly, not worth the money. I have had better steak elsewhere. Service was good though.

K
Keily Wang

The food was great and the place is beautiful. Great view. I reserved the table two weeks à ahead for my boyfriend birthday and specifically left a note explaining we need a table by the window so we can have a nice view and called on the day to make sure they got my note to find out they wanted to give a table far from what I requested. That’s how the birthday dinner started for me and because I insisted the host change our table to the original request table. I am so glad I was the one that came first so he didn’t have all that to experience on his birthday. Very disappointed on the way they treated me. They gave us free dessert and changed our server but still didn’t make up for the initial mistake they didn’t which could have been avoided. Our server Jacob was outstanding please request for him if you ever go tho this restaurant.

We visited Chemin à la Mer for dinner while in New Orleans celebrating my husband’s birthday. We were looking for a nice steakhouse and chose this restaurant over Chophouse or Ruth’s Chris, since we have those near home. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing choice. Our server was very sweet, and that’s the main reason for the three stars. However, I’m pretty sure the $25 reservation fee was never applied to our bill, which was frustrating. We ordered drinks, which were fine, but when the steaks arrived, things went downhill. Two people in our group ordered the New York Strip — at $110 each, we expected high quality. I’m usually a strip steak girl, but this one was a miss. While the temperature was correct, the steak itself was poorly cooked. The fat wasn’t rendered properly, leaving it chewy and tough. The meat itself felt low quality, especially for the price. We also noticed the manager watching us throughout the meal. Our group was dressed nicely, but the men didn’t have jackets — we were on a relaxed, fun vacation, and formal attire wasn’t something we packed. It felt like we didn’t quite “fit” the vibe they expected. I did mention the steak issue to the manager. He kindly comped a round of drinks, which we appreciated, though that wasn’t our main concern. The cheesecake they brought out for my husband’s birthday was delicious — probably the best part of the night. Overall, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and we had hoped this would be a spot to bring our daughter for her 21st birthday in a few years. Sadly, it missed the mark for us.

R
Ross Johnson

Let's face it, you are paying to be here. Everything is priced 4 times what it's worth. We tried a bunch of dishes to get the full experience. I wouldn't come back for the food for sure. The service was good though.

S
Steve Moore

A good dining experience always starts with your server and mine , unfortunately, was not good. The food was good but overpriced. So many other restaurants you can go to in city with better price and service.

C

Mixed review. Our server Ashley was great. It’s a neat place to get food. On the other hand… Our medium steaks came out past well done. Based on other reviews. That sounds like a theme. We had no plans to send anything back because we had a tour to get too and didn’t have the time. Ashley read the vibe and graciously took one of the steaks off our bill without us asking. However, the manager came over after it was settled and clearly had an attitude towards us. His reaction was a bit bizarre. As if we had personally offended him. He made that clear..

a
asha ganpat

True, we weren’t dressed for dinner but in regular day clothes, but, wow, we received what amounted to bizarrely poor service. Couldn’t have felt less welcome or judged by the host and server. This restaurant should be ashamed. The food was rushed out all at once. We were given a table cramped by the server kiosk with half the tables empty. Did the waiter mean to give a back-handed insult by bringing salt and pepper without request? (Management may reach out if you are as appalled as we are.)

Ive been to this restaurant few times best service super friendly but for whatever reason my last experience makes me never want to come back. it was a saturday night and we waited for our table in the middle dining area that we booked for but suggested we could eat at the tables by the bar instead because theres a wait.. we said we dont mind waiting.. when we went to go get seated i can see many open tables in the middle dining area but they sat me and my friend in the back by the wall and a whole tall plant tree pretty much in my face and honestly i felt discriminated because we were the only asians there. my waiter barely checked on us. gave us dirty dishware and when we asked for a clean one and napkins he left the dirty one on our table and gave us ONE napkin.. we also ordered a dozen of oysters two of each kind. the boy came and place the oysters down and just left and i wouldve liked to know which one i was eating and i waited a while til he came back to my table and asked him to tell me which one was which and he made a smart comment saying “would you like me to tell you which one is which?” then hes like let me try without my cheat sheet and honestly he was wrong both of our plates was plated different and since im in the back of the restaurant i can see everything and how he kept checking on his other tables often. i wasnt sure what was said but he stoped serving us and two others started accommodating us and was very nice but overwall i wont be back i took a video but i cant post it so the pictures are gonna be little blurry

Today my husband and i went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I wasn’t really satisfied on what i pay, but it is what it is. Food was not that great. We ordered oysters and foie gras for appetizers, oysters 5 out of 5. Taste so fresh and the sauce the comes with it is so good. Foie gras, was 30 something dollars and the plate was meh, it’s just not what I’m expecting from a place like that. For entree we ordered a ribeye steak which is $70 i think, and it’s just ok, i rather eat at texas roadhouse for steak. Also ordered Salmon, which is weird that I don’t like it at all! The whole dish stinks so bad and when i told the server she just said never heard something like what i said. But ok, as i said it is what it is or maybe it’s just me. I didn’t finish it and wrap it up to go and give it to homeless person outside maybe they’ll like it. Everything was salty from the garnish that they put up to the side dishes. We ordered fries, spinach and mashed potatoes. Mash potatoes was ok but the fries and spinach was salty, i worried about those people who can’t have too much salt cos that was bad. Seems like cooks don’t taste what they serve. We also hear the couple sitting next to us saying that they rather eat at home. Lol. Same what i feel. Overall our bill was $245 and we tipped $60 for the server still did a great job. Even if I’m dissatisfied with the food i still don’t want to be that person. I just rather not comeback.

I gave this restaurant two tries before coming up with this review. There’s something missing that makes this a quality restaurant. My first time there, it was a busy evening dinner. The time between our appetizer and entree was 40 minutes and the entree came out cold. My second time, I came for Sunday lunch. We got seated by the window and the view was spectacular. Both times, the service is always good when it starts, but as the meal progressed on, it’s like the service disappears. There was no one to come by and ask if we needed anything so we can order more drinks. The entree plates weren’t cleared from the table like it was for the appetizers. I ordered the shrimp entree and my shrimp were not de-veined. It was cut and like they had the intentions to remove it but it wasn’t done. Besides being at a great location, the restaurant is underwhelming. There are so many other restaurants in New Orleans that are better. I don’t think I’ll be giving this place a third try.

Lovely brunch restaurant on the 5th floor of Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans. This restaurant has a fantastic view of the river. But honestly the food was not good.

Title: A Challenging Dining Experience at Chemin À La Mer Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) My recent visit to Chemin À La Mer, located within the Four Seasons Hotel at 2 Canal Street, was far from the exceptional dining experience I had anticipated. Here's a breakdown of my disappointing experience: Six-Hour Wait: The evening began with an astonishing six-hour wait for our table, which set a negative tone for the entire experience. Such a lengthy delay is unacceptable, even for a busy establishment. Eating in the Dark: Upon finally being seated, the dim lighting made it nearly impossible to read the menu or see the food on our plates. Dining in the dark might be trendy for some, but it made our experience uncomfortable and impractical. No Visible Chef: At a high-end restaurant like this, one might expect to witness the culinary artistry in action. Unfortunately, there was no visible chef or open kitchen, which left us disconnected from the food preparation process. Cold Food: Our excitement quickly waned when our meals arrived lukewarm. The cold food not only affected the taste but also left us wondering about the kitchen's attention to detail. Overcharge: To add insult to injury, our bill was significantly higher than anticipated. The prices seemed inflated for the quality of the dining experience we received. Non-Selective Music Genre: The restaurant's choice of music lacked cohesion and seemed random. This inconsistency in music selection diminished the overall ambiance. Poor Service: The service throughout the evening was lackluster. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, which further contributed to our dissatisfaction. Not an Intimate Experience: Despite being part of the Four Seasons Hotel, Chemin À La Mer failed to provide the intimate and upscale atmosphere expected from such a renowned establishment. $30 Free Parking: The only silver lining in this experience was the complimentary $30 parking voucher provided due to the overwhelming wait time. While appreciated, it did little to compensate for the overall disappointment. Multiple Attempts to Speak to Manager: Despite our efforts to communicate our concerns to the manager, there were no noticeable improvements during our visit. In conclusion, my dining experience at Chemin À La Mer in the Four Seasons Hotel was marred by extended wait times, inadequate service, poor ambiance, and cold food. It is my hope that these issues are addressed promptly, as they are far from the standard one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. --

Meh. Overpriced faux fancy food. I’ll stick to the Chandelier Bar food. Crème brûlée and horchata shots was the only good pick. Olive bread - no Gumbo- dark roux color right but everything else WRONG NO Shrimp and grit cake? - smh no Never returning

Overpriced, food was good but not for Michelin level pricing. Service was marginal at best. The waiters tried but you can tell that they do not hire professionals. Would not recommend.

Will never understand waiting 40+ minutes for a table after securing a reservation for only 2 people. Table was for 8:30, but we did not eat until 10 o’clock which obviously affected post-dinner plans. Slow service, but our waitress & bartenders were kind and the food did taste good. Overall, did not meet the expectations for what I’m used to at Four Seasons.

No tablecloths or spoons. Crowded with downmarket locals all celebrating their birthdays. Waited hours for $2000 plus dinner with overpriced wines. Tiny bowls of gumbo. Some huge portions of steak. Exhausting experience.

Came from out of town and looked forward to eating here to celebrate a birthday. We waited 10min to be seated despite having a reservation and the restaurant was not full, even with it being a Saturday night. After being seated, our server was not attentive at all, the food took forever to come out (again, the restaurant wasn’t that busy) and when the food finally arrived, it was subpar. The restaurant is beautiful, but a lot smaller than advertised.

The view of the river was the best thing about the experience. The food was very mediocre. I could have made a better meal at home like others have stated. Everything was bland. We ordered the lamb and it was super fatty. Very disappointing for the price. The best thing about the experience was the dessert which was called The Floating Island. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's not worth the money. There are many other restaurants in the city that are better than this one.

Coming from Texas to celebrate my cousins 21st birthday. I was really excited to try this four seasons restaurant! Keep in mind we were a party of 13, the aesthetic was beautiful . Service was impeccable, however the best thing on the menu was the water. The seafood gumbo had no seasoning nor seafood! The food portions for the entrees were too small to say the bill was $117 per person due to gratuity. All together the bill was about $1,500. Totally not worth the price.i would never come back nor recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal because New Orleans has way too much to offer.

We had lunch today expecting a 5-star meal and service but everything was quite disappointing. While the food was decent, it was rather bland compared to the spicier and more flavorful options elsewhere in New Orleans. The view is beautiful, but unfortunately, the service was very poor and overshadowed everything else. Our waiter, Junior K, spoke so quietly that we could barely hear him, even after asking multiple times for him to speak louder. The service was also slow and inattentive, making it one of the worst dining experiences we've had in New Orleans in years and we live here. It was embarrassing, especially since we were taking our nephew from India out for lunch, thinking this was one of our city's top restaurants. To make matters worse, after spending $250 for three people, the waiter offered us a complimentary glass of champagne only after we had already mentioned that we were in a hurry. This gesture felt inappropriate and poorly timed. While the view is nice, it simply cannot compensate for the subpar service and mediocre food. Sadly, we won’t be returning, as there are much better places to dine in New Orleans where both the food and service are far superior. I should have respected and heeded the reviews. You've been warned. 😂

The service was extremely slow. For a restaurant in the four seasons at this price point this is unacceptable. We waited 45 min for entrees. The manager needs to do a better job. Just having a good atmosphere is not enough.

Honestly thought the location and atmosphere was super cute. Other than it was a fail. The waiter forgot to take my order but took everyone else’s at the table so my friends had to call him back. I ordered the shrimp and the shrimp was mushy! I never have had mushy shrimp is that a southern thing? The table behind us had ordered a fish plate and it STANK so I definitely did not want to order a fish. How are you gonna be on the water and have smelly fish!? We also the the tartare: it came with fries to eat with which was confusing so we asked for some crackers. When we got it to go they only packed the tartare and not the crackers so when I got home I was very disappointed not having something to scoop it with. For the price tag on the menu I would say it’s not worth it. However the steak wasn’t bad but there’s better in the city. So in conclusion, don’t waste your time.

Food was very good. Service embarrassingly bad. Waited 10 minutes to put in a drink order. That’s fine. Finished my first drink, and it took another 10 minutes to even place another drink order, and that was because I politely flagged the waiter down to place one. To be fair, the drinks did come promptly after placing the order and were quite good. Finally, after finishing our second drinks, I flagged down the waiter again to order a beer (this was after being empty for 10 minutes again— we are not even fast drinkers!). The beer never came. To be fair, the waiter was knowledgeable, and the guys who filled up our water were spot on. But if you’re dropping $250+ for a meal, you expect good service. The service here is below average for any restaurant, let alone a supposedly fine one (I can’t think of any Mexican or burger or pizza joint with slower drink service). . I actually wanted to contact the restaurant via email to let them know this feedback privately, but when that option wasn’t available, I decided to leave a public review. And I dropped them front 3 to 2 stars, because obviously they aren’t interested in private feedback. I wasn’t looking for a discount or anything, since we won’t be coming back anyway. But I would have preferred to leave private feedback. But if you want good food, and good service, go elsewhere in the city. There are many other great options in New Orleans (we are locals).

Party of six went for dinner 1/10/26. The food and view were great. Food is overpriced. The service was awful. Have been to 3 other Link restaurants and the were great. New Orleans has too many great restaurants to waste money on this one.

Hands down the WORST Four Seasons experience I have ever had globally; you should be ashamed of this property! Horrible service right off the bat with the hostess refusing to give us the table we had reserved; then giving us a terrible one next to the pool for an anniversary dinner (which they knew the occasion by the reservation). Cold, charred steak coated with congealed tallow… gross! Terrible overall. Our first server Jacob was the only redeeming quality of the evening.

Chemin à la Mer was very disappointing! For such a lovely name at The Four Seasons, one would anticipate the best in a fine dining experience but it failed on so many levels. The food was horrible; $70 Ribeye was small, overcooked with a disgusting and charred flavor that came to the table cold along with the cold potatoes and cold, tasteless spinach. If paying for a steak at that price, it should at least come to the table hot and sizzling! One would also expect that the ambiance would be on point, considering that it’s located on the Mississippi River but instead it was an extremely dark dining room with no soft music. To top off the night, you pay over $30 for valet parking, not including our $20 tip, and are greeted by unfriendly and unprofessional attendants. The only aspect of the fancy restaurant named Chemin a la Mer, that made my husband’s birthday day special was our waiter who went by the name, Iz who had the most pleasant attitude and delivered exceptional customer service on our special night. The experience was a FAILURE, needs improvement on so many levels! Again, the quality and expensive price of the food, the dark ambience and no music in the dining area, and the expensive and unfriendly valet experience left us feeling robbed for what should have been one of the most memorable dining experiences ever. Chemin a la Mer definitely disappointed us and did not deliver.

We came here to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, and the hostess, Jada, was rude from the start. When we said our reservation was at 2:00, she sharply corrected us and said it was at 2:30, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. The food didn’t improve things. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done, and my husband’s shrimp were burnt. To make matters worse, everything felt incredibly overpriced they even charged $8 for a soda with no refills. Overall, the service and food quality did not make for the special birthday meal we were hoping for.

The whole experience was a fiasco. Food was of very low quality and bad prepared. The flavor was salt and more salt. Tables were round and small. Behind us there were people at the bar standing and taking. It felt we were at the cheapest place in New Orleans. Never never again.

Place was not worth the hype that the other reviews left. We were seated first & then two were seated after & next to us, they were offered the stars & the moons while we were just sitting there waiting for our waiters to come & ask about our orders/if we needed anything extra. Everyone around us was offered champagne & not a peep to us. Food I’ll give a 4.5/10, I’ve had better steaks/Apps/oysters in other places in the city. The amount that was spent didn’t match the quality of food & service. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting New Orleans.

I decided to celebrate my birthday here with my family and close friends and our experience was very disappointing. I read reviews and heard good things about the restaurant so the experience we had caught us by surprise. I was not expecting such an awful and mediocre experience from an “high quality” establishment. Coming from someone who has worked in the food industry they did meet the standard, not even close. The staff were very nice when we spoke on the phone but when I arrived I wasn’t properly greeted just asked “are you Shay” and instructed to follow to our table. My sister sat at the bar prior to everyone arriving and she was never greeted, but they helped everyone around her. Our server seemed as if he didn’t want to serve us. We alerted the manager and still nothing changed. We were restricted to a four course preset menu with minor accommodations for those with dietary restrictions. Our food, drinks, and desserts took a very long time to come out. We all got our dessert to go. We were at the restaurant for nearly 5 hours. Four of my guests received undercooked food and we were accommodated with two bottles of champagne. A select few of the staff were very nice but majority of them were very rude to us. The food was ok but with such terrible service I will not be returning.

Donald Link’s latest restaurant is perhaps stretching the franchise further than it can handle. Our 8:15 reservation didn’t get us seated until 9pm after repeatedly being told by a rude host that they were “doing the best they could”. Once seated, incorrect drinks were brought to the table. After another 45 minutes we received half our appetizers. After another 30 minutes we received the other half of the appetizers; one dish consisting of a wedge of lettuce. After 3 full hours of terrible service and lots of apologies, we finished entrees. The fish of the day was extremely dry and our server checked in on us a total of two times. Cece, our assistant server, was the only redeeming quality of the restaurant. She was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and ran circles around our actual server, Robert, who seemed embarrassed to even show his face at the table. Our party consisted of locals whom all live in New Orleans. We will not be back. We can only hope that Donald Link can ride the coat tails of the four seasons and rely on tourists’ ignorance to keep this restaurant open. Save your money and time and consider Popeyes for dinner before getting dressed up and spending countless hours eating mediocre food brought by subpar servers.

My husband made reservations months ago to celebrate my 70th birthday! We are from Dallas. I was so disappointed in the entire experience. My martini was horrible and warm. I expected impeccable service and delicious food and drink. Our server performed as if it were her first night to work at a restaurant. She spilled water on the menu when she first came to the table. Ok, not a big deal, not going to let that ruin my birthday. I ordered a steak medium rare and it was medium well. I sent it back. After 20 minutes, the next steak was brought to our table horribly red and bloody. Our server never asked us anything about anything. In fact, it was a man standing on the sidelines at the restaurant who saw that my steak wasn't cooked correctly. He was nowhere to be seen when the second one was brought to the table. Summary: We will never return to this restaurant and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The Four Seasons managerial staff should eat there so they understand this restaurant is NOT at the level you expect from a restaurant inside the Four Seasons.

The lady checking me in gave me attitude about mixing up reservation times. I thought it was 2:30, not 2. She made sure to rudely correct me. It felt like I was at the DMV, not a nice restaurant. We were the only ones there the entire time. The rest of the staff was polite.
