Area Bar

We are in an era when a relatively cheap and not super crowded bar in the east village (or anywhere really) is extremely rare. This is not only a reasonable place but it is also one that plays Star Trek and Godzilla movies. Highly recommend.

I went to an Astrology reading on Friday - and they have it every Friday. It was an awesome experience 10/10. 6-8 pm :) they had live music, great beer and friendly people!

The best bartender ever, he was absolutely honest and de-escalated issues with wrong customer without loosing bar patrons. He made sure everyone was safe and respectful. I will come back and bring my friends

I'm coming over from manchester Durgy in May from Manchester. Do you have a duke box so I can play tunes,bad the clash joy division etc. the bar looks fantastic.

I live in Virginia and I wanted a real life East Village experience. Not some “fru fru” $17 dollar a drink fake place. Area 140 was a real NY bar with reasonable prices and a cool theme.

Had an amazing time throwing our birthday party at Area 140 First Bar! Mike D is the best and so easy to work with! We had the best birthday night ever and all of our friends had a blast. The drinks were delicious and the vibes were so fun. 10/10 cannot recommend this bar enough!

I wince every time I walk by this bar and plan my route around it whenever I’m in East village. Had a horrible SA experience by the bartender WORKING there, met with owner separately after but had the ‘it’s just how things work around here’ undertone. Owner deleted my review here about it 2y ago, I’m finally doing something about that, and no matter how many times they delete my reviews, I’ll ensure the word spreads, encouraging more transparency and accountability.

The bartender wouldn’t give us full-size so sodas. Then charged us $8. For smaller-than-solo cups. Not coming back. Since the owner has responded, I’ll respond: the bartender was a woman with light green hair. My friend paid with his credit card. I can find the transaction if you are interested. We literally thought we were being served the sodas as a joke.
